Born & raised in California, Evelyn Montgomery now resides in Central Kentucky with her husband and three children.
Her love stories include fantasy, paranormal, retellings, contemporary romance, romantic suspense, romantic psychological thrillers and mysteries, rom com, small town romance & more. One thing to always expect when reading an Evelyn Montgomery book is a plot twist you’d never see coming.
With no plans to stop writing any time soon, her goal is to keep producing a fictional world that isn’t forced, but genuine, heartfelt, and desirable.
"It's because I'm protective of you that I push you away, Gidg. I'll guard you fiercely. Even when it means protecting you from what can hurt you most. Me."
TWO YEARS!!!! It has been two years and then some months of Evelyn giving me little scraps here and there of this story but I finally got it in my hands. I had no idea, really, where she was going to go with Jake and Tink but she exceeded my expectations with them.
I can hold a grudge against book characters like no other and I was so very doubtful that these two would win me over. Well apparently 2024 is the year I fall in love with redemption stories and those characters redeeming themselves because that is exactly what happened.
There is so much story to Jake and Tinker Bell. Forget everything you think you know about her, everything you have seen of her up until this point. The same goes for Jake. They are like that old saying, "looks can be deceiving".
It didn't take me long at all to be smitten with Jake. That man and the sweet things he says and does. Once you get into this story he starts to make sense, so much starts to make sense. The same with Tink and honestly you will need tissues when it comes to certain parts of who she is and how she ended up in Neverland.
While much of this story does revolve around Jake and Tink all of our favorites from Losing Neverland/Lost Boy are back because there is a new villain in town and is someone I never saw coming. So of course my original hatred of Jake and Tink was directed at this new person.
The creative thought process that Evelyn puts into Saving Tink once again shows how wonderful her author mind is. It truly blows my mind these tales she can weave. You get fantasy characters mixed in with Greek Gods (thank you for the quick educational lesson on those...lol) which is something I didn't expect and it works. Throw in the way she tells a love story with such beautiful words and creates these swoony MMCs and plot twists that leave your jaw on the floor, Saving Tink was definitely worth over two years of waiting for the absolute perfection that it is.
********AUDIO REVIEW******** Every single audio in this series has exceeded my expectations. What Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden have given to this story is pretty much indescribable. I say that as I get ready to describe it in what I hope is the best way because finding words truly is hard.
Once again they are both tasked with a multitude of characters and they make it seem so easy to bring them to life. Maxine transitions from Wendy to Tinker Bell to Morgan effortlessly as does Joe with Jake, Peter, Pan, etc. Their talents are showcased so much in this one.
I read the story, I thought I knew what to expect when it came to the audio and turns out I was not. This is some of the best I have ever heard from these two narrators. Jake and Tink have a story full of emotions, Ms. Mitchell and Mr. Arden give the listeners all those emotional scenes and you will feel it down to your soul. With the eloquent writing style of Ms. Montgomery there truly was no better choice than Maxine and Joe!
And, we're back in Neverland, bookies! I have been so excited waiting on this one, and it was so worth the wait!!! I absolutely adore these stories!
If you love our beloved childhood fairytale of 𝐏𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐧, 𝐓𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐥 & 𝐖𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐲, hold on to your seats, bookies. 𝙴𝚟𝚎𝚕𝚢𝚗 𝙼𝚘𝚗𝚝𝚐𝚘𝚖𝚎𝚛𝚢 takes on the fairytale with a masterful hand, throwing us a story that is filled with twists, turns, spice, and oh so much more! Her world building with these stories is phenomenal!
Jake & Tink are rivaling for my favorite character spots with this story. I didn't like them in the first books, but oh how that is changing quickly! I loved them so hard in this one! The shades of grey 𝙼𝚘𝚗𝚝𝚐𝚘𝚖𝚎𝚛𝚢 adds to our beloved fairytale is absolutely breathtaking and addictive!
𝑀𝑎𝑥𝑖𝑛𝑒 𝑀𝑖𝑡𝑐ℎ𝑒𝑙𝑙'𝑠 ability to voice multiple characters and bring them all to the life is incomparable. She does it magnificently and made me feel all of the emotions of heartbreak, love and passion. 𝐽𝑜𝑒 𝐴𝑟𝑑𝑒𝑛'𝑠 ability to go from unhinged villian to sweet & lovable in the blink of an eye is one of the many reasons he's a favorite for me. Pairing this king & Queen of narrations together is always welcomed! They were perfect for the job!
This is one audiobook/book I'll be turning to again and again. It's one I will forever recommend! If you love your fairytales a bit dirtier, a bit grayer, a bit more unhinged, then 𝙴𝚟𝚎𝚕𝚢𝚗 𝙼𝚘𝚗𝚝𝚐𝚘𝚖𝚎𝚛𝚢'𝚜 𝗟𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗕𝗼𝘆𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 is where it's at, folks!
Holy.. shit!! Not how I expected that to all play out! I wasn’t a fan or Tinker Bell or Jake for that matter but this book rocked my thinking and made me fall in love with them!!! I couldn’t put it down and wanted zero interruptions while reading it. It’s not often I’m that invested! If ever I were to recommend this series I would day you should skip Losing Neverland and jump right into Lost Boy. I feel like those two books alone were the entire series. Now if you prefer darker and spicy reads then yes, read Losing Neverland. I could’ve done without and been ok. This was a great ending and I’m so honored to have been given the chance to read these!
I had the fortunate opportunity to read an Advanced Reader's Copy of "Saving Tink" by Evelyn Montgomery. I found the relationship between Tinker Bell and Jake to be particularly engaging.
Additionally, I appreciated the other key characters, including Peter, Wendy, Hook, and Shadow. While I thoroughly enjoyed the book and liked most of the characters, I wasn't particularly fond of Pan; however, every story needs its villain, doesn't it?
Overall, I was especially captivated by the development of Tink and Jake's characters.
Thank You Evelyn Montgomery for giving me the chance to read and review this book.
Okay so I’ll be honest, I went into this fully prepared to hate Tink but was happily blindsighted. First off… it’s not as steamy as book 1 but the story was so good that I wasn’t even mad about it. Just like the first, it was nice to hear excerpts from the original “Peter and Wendy”. I love how they honored the original story while taking it to new worlds. The lineage of Peter and his brother was an interesting addition that I haven’t personally seen before. I hope that the epilogue is hinting at another installment or an interconnected series?
✨ What happens when the fairy gets tired of being saved and decides to save herself instead? 🖤 💔 A dark Neverland retelling filled with pain, power, and a love that nearly destroyed them.
Saving Tink by Evelyn Montgomery is a dark romantasy novel, part of her "Escapism" series. It offers a unique and darker retelling of the Peter Pan mythos, focusing on the untold story of Tinker Bell and Jake (a version of Peter Pan's brother).
📚 Plot Summary
Saving Tink delves into the complex and often painful past of Tinker Bell (also known as Gidget or Echo) and Jake.
It's revealed that they have lived a life no one remembers, including Tink herself, and that Jake was meant to die, taking their secrets to the grave. However, fate intervenes, granting Jake immortality at a great cost.
The narrative focuses on Jake's relentless desire to protect Tink, especially when horrors from their past resurface to haunt her. This protection comes with a heavy burden, forcing Jake to confront sacrifices and difficult choices.
The central conflict revolves around the idea that saving Tink might require Jake to sacrifice himself, and while his love for her should make the decision easy, the outcome is fraught with the potential for their ultimate destruction.
The book aims to show that every villain has a story and reveal the broken hearts behind their actions, particularly highlighting Tinker Bell's past trauma and Jake's complex motivations. It also introduces a new, unexpected villain that was not present in previous books in the series.
👤 Character Breakdown:
Tinker Bell (Tink / Gidget / Echo): The female protagonist, her character is given a much darker and more nuanced portrayal than the traditional fairy.
The book explores her traumatic past and the reasons behind her actions, revealing her as a victim whose story has been untold. She's presented as complex, enduring significant hardships.
Jake Pan:
The male protagonist, often depicted as a villainous figure in previous installments of the series. Saving Tink provides his redemption arc, revealing his deep love and protective instincts towards Tinker Bell.
Readers learn the true depth of his character and why he became the way he is. He's willing to sacrifice himself for Tink's well-being.
Other Characters: The book brings back favorites from the previous Escapism" books (Losing Neverland and Lost Boy), hinting at the involvement of other familiar Neverland characters like Wendy and Peter, but with a twisted and dark lens.
📙 Themes of the Book:
Redemption: A significant theme, particularly for Jake and Tinker Bell, as the book aims to provide a redemption arc for characters previously perceived as villains. It challenges readers' preconceived notions and encourages empathy by exploring their backstories.
Sacrifice: The idea of self-sacrifice for the ones you love is central to the plot, particularly for Jake in his efforts to save Tink. It explores the painful choices that come with deep love.
The Nature of Villainy: The core premise is that every villain has a story, suggesting that negative actions often stem from past trauma, heartbreak, or misunderstood motivations. The book seeks to unveil the humanity and brokenness behind traditionally villainous characters.
Love and Protection: The intense and complicated love between Tinker Bell and Jake is a driving force. Jake's fierce protectiveness of Tink, even when it means pushing her away, is a key element.
Memory and the Past: The concept of a forgotten past and horrors returning to haunt the characters is crucial to the plot. It highlights the lasting impact of past events.
Retelling and Reimagining: As part of a dark romantasy series, the book takes well-known fairy tales and myths (specifically Peter Pan) and reinterprets them with a mature, often grim, and complex twist.
Deception and Hidden Truths: The narrative emphasizes that looks can be deceiving and that there are hidden truths behind the characters and events, encouraging readers to question what they think they know.
📝 Quotes from the Book
I was never just a sidekick. I was the spark they all needed to survive.
He never grew up, but I was forced to.
Love doesn’t always save you. Sometimes, it’s the reason you need saving.
Neverland didn’t feel like magic anymore. It felt like memory.
I trusted him with my heart. He handed it to the shadows.
Evelyn Montgomery blows me away with her brilliant mind and she has outdone herself when she created this story, intermingling Greek Gods with the characters and storylines from Barry’s classic “Peter Pan” and “Lost Boy” novels and holy moly what a wild ride it is. This book follows her own “Lost Boy”, the extended Version of her “Saving Neverland” and I highly recommend listening to that book first, not only is it a brilliant retelling, but knowing the parts the lead characters in this book, Tinker Bell and Jake Pan, played in that book is beneficial and adds more depth. Tinker and Jake were not my favorite characters in Lost Boy, more villainous than nice, but we never really knew what made them tick or why they were the way they were, but they definitely deserved their own story and wow, what a story it is. Jake surprised me the most, and what Tink, aka Gidget, aka Echo, endured in her lifetime, broke my heart. The twists and turns in the book are incredible, so are the writing, plot and world building. The characters are incredibly complex, and while I won’t give anything away, there’s more to them than meets the eye. No one is just a simple character in this fantastical world. This romantasy is a romance like no other, one over the years and one you can not pull yourself away from because you need to know what happens next, and finding out who the real villains were and who was pulling the strings was a mind blow too. Evelyn Montgomery, thank you for another amazing story and wild ride.
🎧📚🎧 Maxine Mitchell’s and Joe Arden’s exceptional performance continues and their portrayal of these characters is absolutely amazing. Their character voices have been consistent throughout and the quality of the audio is top-notch. I have said it before, but worth repeating, Joe Arden covers the roles of villains like no other, and his talent knows no bounds and his thrilling performance sends chills up your spine. Maxine Mitchell is another whose talent knows no bounds, and her delivery of Tink’s role was brilliant, absolutely moving. Both were equally amazing performing the roles of all the secondary/support characters too. You can hear how much heart they put into their performance as they capture all the characters’ emotions and have you feeling them all. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their performance elevates this already amazing story to another level. Thank you for another fantastic listen.
Saving Tink is the third book in Evelyn Montgomery’s Escapism series, following Losing Neverland and Lost Boy. This time, the focus is on Tink, who—unlike the Disney version—was the villain in the first two books. It dives into her backstory and origins, and like the rest of the series, it’s full of twists where nothing is quite what it seems. Along with Tink’s journey, we get some new characters and a heavier dose of Greek mythology that adds an extra layer to the story.
Tink is unapologetically evil, and Maxine Mitchell captures her perfectly. Her performance made me love hating Tink at first—and then eventually just love her. The male lead, Jake, has been in the background in earlier books but takes a bigger role here. Of course, we also have familiar faces like Peter and Wendy, who bring even more depth and continuation of the story from the first two books.
When I started this book, I honestly thought there was no way Tink could be redeemed. But Evelyn Montgomery’s writing completely changed my mind. She added so much depth and background to Tink’s character that, by the end, I was rooting for her. It’s a reminder that people (or fairies) aren’t always what they seem and that love and redemption might really conquer all.
The narration is what truly brings this story to life. Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell are the king and queen of audiobook romance, and this book proves why. Joe flawlessly takes on multiple characters—Hook, Peter, Jake, and more—and makes each one distinct and memorable. His ability to deliver complex dialogue and emotional moments is unmatched. And Maxine? She blew me away. Her range in this book is unreal. She voiced so many characters, at different stages of their lives, and made bold choices that took the story to another level. These two narrators didn’t just read the words; they guided me through the twists, turns, and complicated layers of this book.
This story gave me all the feels—excitement, heartbreak, and even hope. And to top it off, I rooted for a villain I thought I’d never care about. The mix of Greek mythology, romance, and fantasy was everything I love rolled into one, and the pacing kept me hooked from start to finish.
If you’re a fan of Greek mythology, fantasy, or stories where the villain gets their shot at redemption, Saving Tink is for you. It’s a five-star listen that combines an amazing story with two narrators who are simply the best at what they do.
I wish there was a way to convey how my non-fantasy loving brain lit up like a starlit sky while listening to this audiobook. I am strictly a contemporary romance reader, yet the magic of Evelyn, Maxine and Joe opened my world to new possibilities.
I highly suggest that you listen to “Lost Boy” first. It is a world building retelling of “Peter Pan” that dares you to take what you believe about the story of your childhood and reimagine characters and plot in a new way. Maxine & Joe perform”Lost Boy”, “Losing Neverland”, and now “Saving Tink” in a way that left lingering fairy dust in my brain chemistry.
Maxine stuns seamlessly with the multi-cast of female characters. From Tink, to Wendy and Morgan Le Fay (my personal favorite) Maxine delivers a flawless performance. Her voice as Tink is unwavering and gave me so much hope for this character (who you feel a certain way about it in “Lost Boy”) and her trajectory over the course of centuries. If I could bottle Maxine’s voice up, it would be within the characterizations of these voices. I can see myself wanting to revisit some of Tink’s internal monologues and Morgan’s voice of wisdom and power.
Enter Joe. He delivers a commanding performance as Jake, Peter and Hades (among a cast of many other male characters) and does what he does best: levels of tenderness and soft whispers, contrasted violently with power and dominance. Joe’s voice compliments each male character individually, and as an ensemble each male character is distinct.
This story is told in duet narration and it feels cinematic and profound in its production and delivery. Evelyn’s writing and world connecting between Neverland & London (among other places 😏), as well as the passage of time is a mind-blowing journey that took me some time to process and sit with (in the best way!). Lovers of the romantasy world will love this for the extensive world building and Easter eggs. Lovers of contemporary romance will love this story for its layers of relationship building between all the characters.
This is a series I cannot wait to listen to again, because it is so overwhelmingly poignant and full of connections. Lost Boy and Losing Neverland are available now; prepare for voyage. It is nothing like you’ve ever experienced before.
I never in my lifetime could've imagined a new dimension could be added to Barrie's classic Peter Pan, yet here we are. Thank god for writers like evelyn who think outside the box, always intrigued by shades of grey. In Losing Neverland we met all the Lost Boys. And at that point i hated Tink and Jake. But in this book, evelyn takes us to the back story or past years to show us what shaped them into who they are Everything is not what it seems at all. I started liking Jake, his sweet side, his softer heart. Peter, i had a hard time loving because his villainous side comes out to play. Joe arden can switch back and forth from a loving arduous hero to nefarious villain in seconds and that made this audiobook phenomenal. He is matched tone to tone, tear by tear, heartbreak by heartbreak by queen Maxine. They both can actually narrate every book and still do a damn good job Evelyn mixes greek mythology in with fairy tale, adding extra spice. This is definitly an escapism into dark forests of neverlanf. Evelyn uses words to bring every aspect of Neverland settings alive vividly. Saving Tink This is book 3 in the Escapism Series by Evelyn Montgomery. This is a retelling of Peter Pan and Wendy. With this story there is a lot of flashbacks to get the whole story of Jake (Peter’s older brother) and Tinkerbell (aka Echo). Jake and Peter’s father, Pan (God of the Wild) is an evil and abusive man who was in business with Mr Darling (father of Wendy, John and Michael). Once Mr Darling was killed Jake married Wendy and took over the business but Jake really wasn’t married to Wendy as she was already married to Peter. Wendy had given birth to twins and Jake raised them as his own. No one knew that the twins were actually Peter’s. Pan always thought of Peter as his favorite and wanted him to take over his side of the business until Peter flew away to Neverland and didn’t return. Jake didn’t want to take over the business, not like Pan wanted it to run. Jake was given the chance to go back in time to hopefully make changes to his future. He fell in love with Tinkerbell, or Gigit (his pet name for her). At the time she was a prisoner of Pan. She was abused by Pan and his men. Jake under the guise of Azriel, Pan’s underling, helped Tinkerbell and tried giving her the seeds to help her in the future. Tinkerbell finally was able to get away from Pan but when doing so her memory was erased. Jake didn’t want her to know that he was disguising himself as Azriel to save her. The conditions of Jake’s immortality was that Jake’s first born would be taken away. She has already lost 1 child to Pan’s evil manipulations. He didn’t want her to have to go through that again. This is an amazingly well written story that keeps you intrigued and wanting more. I would give this story 5 stars. Definitely a must read.
From the very first chapter of Saving Tink, you’re thrown into an emotional rollercoaster, filled with moments of heartbreak, triumph, and unshakable loyalty. The narration brought these moments to life with exceptional skill! Joe and Maxine nailed the tone perfectly.
What really stood out in the audiobook was Maxine's ability to voice the various characters distinctly, adding a unique texture to the story. Whether it was Tink’s moments of fear or bravery, or the supporting characters who offered humor, wisdom, or tension, every voice felt authentic and immersive. She's so talented!
The pacing of the story was spot on, pulling my deep into the story without feeling rushed.
The dialogue felt alive in this book. The narration of the heartfelt conversations and heated exchanges made it feel as though you were right there in the room with the characters. The emotional weight of key moments hit even harder because of this.
If you’re someone who loves stories about resilience, love, and second chances, you’re going to adore Saving Tink. And if you’re considering the audiobook, I can’t recommend it enough. It’s one of those listens that stays with you long after it’s finished. Don’t miss this one!
"It's because I'm protective of you that I push you away, Gidg. I'll guard you fiercely. Even when it means protecting you from what can hurt you most. Me."
Perfect finale for such a fantastical series! I have thoroughly enjoyed these books and how Evelyn Montgomery has taken a childhood classic and flipped it into a beautifully dark tale full of love and heartbreak and seeing what someone is willing to do for the ones that they love.
This is narrated in duet by Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden. This series has become a new favorite Maxine listen for me. The way she has brought all of these female characters to life is a true testament to what narration should be for ALL audiobooks. And her Tink…one of my fav characters in each book. I am always left speechless and am so in awe of her talent!
Then we’ve got Joe Arden…there’s narrating and then there’s full on performing! Just when I think previous performances can’t be taught, he shows up and shows the levels of his talent. The way he seamlessly switches from character to character and everything flows so smoothly.
With these two performing, there were many occurrences where the world around me seemed to vanish because I got so lost and immersed in the story and Evelyn’s words! They made me love Jake and Tink and they made it feel like it was all playing out right in front of me.
I’m sorry I’m just literally so confused. The first book was decent and I bought the audiobook bundle so I listened to this one as well. I tried to follow it but the plot was all over the place.
The first book made no mention or even hinted at Greek gods or Arthurian characters and then within the first quarter of the book we get bombarded with Greek gods and characters that have nothing to do with Peter Pan right off the bat.
I was fine with it at first because the author had that snippet in the beginning about the Greek God pan and I saw where they were making the connection, but it came out of nowhere.
But then the plot just decided it needed to take a trip on the biggest roller coaster of all time. It went all over the place with different characters, time lines and plots. I got lost so fast. I didn’t know who to like or dislike although sadly none of the characters were that memorable to begin with. Granted audiobooks can make timelines more confusing but I feel like if I read this I’d still be confused.
I made it to 75% but I’m gonna def because finishing it is feeling like a chore. I’m sorry I didn’t like this. I was excited by the premise of the story but it’s not working for me.
I devoured this book, and I'm not at all sorry. I wasn't a fan of Tinker Bell or Jake before this book. I thought they were irredeemable, but after reading their stories, I totally changed my mind. I love retellings, but this one was so much better than I could have ever thought of. I loved how Greek mythology was brought into this story, and it brought everything together. Tink has had the roughest life, and in order to heal, she needed to forget her past. She's been denied by every man she has cared about. She feels like she isn't good enough for anyone, including herself. But when Jake shows up, she tries to beat down her curiosity of him and the feelings he brings out in her. Jake has always felt less than his brother Peter. Ever since Jake met tinkerbell decades ago, he has always had a pull to her. The way he tries to help Tink know her worth and show her happiness can exist. The love he has for her trumps everything for him, including himself. The storyline had me on my toes. The love Jake shows Tink is everything. The story is about redemption and love. Hurt and betrayal, but will they be able to win this war?
I really did not like Jake or Tinker Bell going into this story. THAT ALL CHANGED. They are totally redeemed in my eyes. This was a wonderful retelling of this fairy tale, but it was so much more. The Greek Mythology added such a beautiful bonus. I devoured this book.
Tink has had a hard life. She has been burned by men and is really jaded. She lacks confidence in herself and sees herself as less than. Jake has always been in Peter's shadow, but he is drawn to Tink and wants to show her real love. He wants to see every broken part of her and put her back together. The redemption in this book and the plot development were so good. The twists just kept coming, and you find yourself rooting for them, even when you didn’t want to in the beginning.
"Behind every villain lies a broken heart."
This is the perfect dark, spicy retelling that only Evelyn can do. You will not be disappointed if you read this book. Heck, read the whole series it’s amazing! I could not live my real life for a short time after as these characters and the story suck with me long after I finished.
Saving Tink is the follow-up to Losing Neverland, continuing the journey of Jake and Tink. Having finished Losing Neverland furious over Jake and Tink's actions, I was skeptical about whether they could be redeemed. Yet, Evelyn's exceptional storytelling managed to transform my perspective, making me empathize with the characters I once deemed irredeemable. Evelyn introduces many new characters in this book, almost to the point of being overwhelming. Despite this, the integration of Greek mythology with the lore of Neverland added an intriguing layer to the story. The pacing of Saving Tink had its ups and downs. However, these moments were balanced by the revelation of Tink's origin story and the deepening of her and Jake's backstory. Understanding their motivations and histories helped me connect with them more.
While I adored Losing Neverland, Saving Tink left me feeling a bit overwhelmed due to all of the additional characters. Evelyn Montgomery's ability to make me care for Jake and Tink in the end is a testament to her writing talent. I truly loved Saving Tink. And I'm excited for the maybe potential setup for the next book in the Escapism series!
This was such a satisfying conclusion to the Escapism series, and I can confidently say that this series is my new favorite Peter Pan retelling!
I truly thought that I would never enjoy reading Tink and Jake as characters, but then Evelyn went and proved me wrong. This was one of the best-written redemption arcs that I have read, particularly for a romantasy, where there are more fantastical reasons to hate characters.
I wasn't expecting the addition of mythology, but it was a pleasant surprise and added another level of fantasy to the whole story. There were also the characters that we know and love - Peter, Wendy, Shadow, Hook, the crocodile, sirens, etc.
I'm not typically a huge fan of fantasy, but something about this series hooked its claws in me and wouldn't let go! If you are a fan of romantasy, retellings, spice, and incredible voice acting, definitely give this series a try.
On to Maxine and Joe...they are one of my favorite duos to listen to, and this series has shot to the top of my favorite performances of theirs. The number of characters that they had to voice and keep straight was astounding, and they managed to perform each one individually and beautifully. Massive thanks to Evelyn and Blue Nose Audio for the audiobook, this is my own honest review.
I absolutely love this beautiful book from start to finish. I want to do a big shout out to you Evelyn for not giving up on your dream of writing this beautiful boat that absolutely means the world to me. This book truly did a number on me in the best way. This beautiful book made me cry, bawled my eyes, scream at my phone and the one thing that surprised me more than anything was this book made me laugh so hard that I couldn’t breathe.
Thank you so so much Evelyn for bringing this retelling of Peter Pan and Tinker Bell that I never knew I needed in my life until I had the honor of reading the rest of the series. This entire series made me so so invested in all these beautiful characters that have become part of me.
If you absolutely love a book where there’s so much intrigue that you don’t know what’s gonna happen next, you need to get this book today because Evelyn will never disappoint you because she most definitely has not disappointed me once since reading this entire beautiful series that is my number one favorite of 2024.
I was super excited to go back to this world and Evelyn didn't disappoint at all. I love a good redemption arc and this book delivered. This romantasy interwoven a dark tale between past and present timelines involving Jake's sacrifices he made for himself and for Tinker Bell. In doing so Tinker Bell forgets about the previous life they lived. Told mainly in Jake and Tinker Bell's povs. A lot more secrets and lies gets explained and revealed. The story was complex and kept me intrigued. I love that Greek mythology was used in the story. It added more depth to the main conflict.
As for the audiobook narration, it was great! Performed in duet narration by Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell. These two were phenomenal! Joe embodied Jake. He captured Jake's selflessness and protectiveness over Tinker Bell. Joe also captures Jake's compassion the most. Like the previous books, Maxine carries over Tinker Bell's sass and brattiness in this new installment. Maxine showed Tinker Bell's character growth through her changes in tones, which can be heard through the progression of the story. I loved the bickering between Jake and Tinker Bell. It was amazing to see how they evolved especially with Tinker Bell. I loved her resilience and bravery. Maxine depicts this several times and her voice was so powerful as she voiced the scenes out. Overall, a fantastic listen!

Thank you to bluenoseaudio for my ALC in exchange for an honest review.
Just wow Evelyn Montgomery! Your words have taken me deeper and deeper into this incredible world. Truly is Escapism at its best!
Saving Tink is the third book in the Escapism series. I feel like I was in their world with Tink and Jake. With every twist and turn I thoroughly enjoyed this journey over the centuries. Although I am not familiar with the Greek mythology references I appreciated how this was woven into the story.
Deception, desire and heartbreak. I love when a book sparks my interest from the beginning. I was a little unsure how I felt about these two in the previous books. Agree, “every villain has a story”. I could not wait to learn Tink and Jake’s story and how their pasts shaped their future.
The incredible performances from Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden portraying the intense darkness and emotional turmoil of Tink and Jake is top tier, I didn’t want to stop listening. The transitioning between all the characters, superb.
Thank you Evelyn for an exceptional story and series. And to Blue Nose Publishing for a flawless production.
I received an ALC from Bluenose audio, performed in duet by Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell. When I started this series I told to myself It's Joe and Maxine! Of course it's going to be good! Well let say good is not enough...Outstanding, phenomenal, fantastic? Hell yess! After listening book 1 and 2 i'm not gonna lie, I didn’t like Jake and Tinker Bell. I kept an open mind...I'm so glad I did! Evelyn made me change my mind. She made me love them. Tink story is so heartbreaking. And Jake love her and want to protect her. There are many things in this book, characters from the previous two books, new characters,Evelyn integrates the Greek mythology in addition to Neverland. I wasn’t sure about the mythology but she managed to integrate it into the story without making me lose my interest. Saving Tink is the perfect ending to the best series I read/listen in 2024! Saving Tink By: Evelyn Montgomery 🎧 Voices performed by: Maxine Mitchell & Joe Arden
Ok don’t at me on this. The ONLY reason this is not getting the 5th star is because I probably won’t listen again. It’s a 5/5 for most and it truly deserves it. This story was so complex, if you didn’t pay attention you would get as lost as virginity on spring break. However the story was absolutely fascinating. And I don’t typically like a retelling. But bravo Evelyn I was hooked (see what I did there) from book 1. I can’t say enough about Joe and Maxine. The way Joe went from one persona to another! In the same sentence! The man deserves all the accolades for this one. And Maxine has never been better. She pulled out all the stops with her vocals in this one. To say I recommend this is an understatement. If you haven’t you should most definitely partake of this extraordinary retelling. Story:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice: 🌶️🌶️.5 Performance: 🎙️🎙️🎙️🎙️🎙️
“But the problem with seeking an escape is, eventually you always run into yourself.”
“Saving Tink,” by Evelyn Montgomery
I loved this book so much. I love how spicy and dark the romance aspect is in the book. I loved the Greek mythology mixed in with the peter pan retelling. The story was so full and dynamic, and I couldn’t feel bored for even a second. The character development with all the characters was so good. I didn’t think I’d ever really like Jake or Tink but wow, I really felt so connected to them by the end of the story. Amazon has marked the reading age from 13-18 but I would say that it felt a little too dark for me to consider it that young, I would say 16 or 17+. Anyways, I really loved it, 5 out of 5 stars.

Thank you for the ARC, Evelyn Montgomery.
“Broken things don’t always mend when you try and put them back together. Sometimes, they only break more.”
“But being broken isn’t the same as breaking, in my past I’ve been shattered, crushed, splintered into a million pieces against my will. It’s what fueled my corruption. The vile, wicked things I’ve done to protect myself.”
“Every villain is a hero in their own mind.”
“Besides, winning doesn’t always mean being first. Sometimes, it’s about making sure you’re in control last.”
I liked this one so much more than Losing Neverland. At the start of this book, I never would've believed that I would go from strongly disliking everything Tinkerbell does to falling in love with the strength she develops with Jake supporting her as much as he can every step of the way. I wasn't expecting the infusion of greek mythology and arthurian legend into this book but I think it was done perfectly, intricately and adding so much to a wonderful story. As always, the greek gods are d***s and as far as I am concerned, the villain can painfully die in the kraken's embrace for what he did to my girl Tinkerbell. I devoured this book and I look forward to reading more of evelyn's dark romance books whether from this series or another.
Thank you so much to the author for providing me with a free arc in return for an honest review. All thoughts expressed are my own.
I felt more invested in the plot because of Maxine and Joe's performances, which enhanced the characters' conversation. Evelyn wrote such a great interpersonal dynamic, and you could sense the emotions flowing from each narrator and their characters as well as from the words themselves. I'm constantly in awe of Evelyn, Joe, and Maxine's skills. Finding one's value despite who or what has happened is the theme of the poignant tale Saving Tink. gaining fortitude and resiliency. I was really moved by this story. The entire series did. Congratulations, Evelyn, and I appreciate this series. I think my favorite Maxine Narration series is this one. Her Tink is amazing. The strength, the anger, and the despair are all overwhelming, real, and intense. Joe's performance was none other than jaw dropping and one of his best performances,
Saving tink is one I’ve been waiting on for awhile. I’ve read the past two and I loved how different they felt than other retellings of Peter Pan. The whole Peter/hook feel was a whole vibe and something I really liked about this series. I liked the dark vibes and how it felt so dark but also fantasy as well. This one much like the others definitely had me curious about Peter and Wendy and their story but this one focused a lot on tink and while I liked it I think it was a little more focused on Jake and tink and those characters just aren’t my favorite. I also think at times it felt a bit long of a story and might’ve been better with less pages. I’m happy with the characters and how they connected and developed and I’m happy I got a chance to read this and look forward to more works and things by this author.

I finally completed this series. I had to back off a bit and return to it. Which is not something I do very often. I simply just wasn't feeling it at the time. I did like it, though, but I wouldn't pick it up again. When going into it, I found that it has Greek mythology, which I'm a sucker for, so it was a nice bonus. Initially, I didn't like Tinker Bell, which disappointed me because I really wanted to love her. We would watch all of the Tinker Bell movies repeatedly because my daughters loved them. However, in the book, Tinker Bell was absolutely nasty. But after reading this book, I found that she wasn't born cruel; rather, it was shaped by her experiences in life. I felt sorry for her because of everything she had to go through. It truly broke my heart. Being loved and treasured was all Tinker Bell ever desired. Jake, Peter Pan's brother, didn't appeal to me either. In the end, I was even more in love with him, and he ended up being my favorite character. It is worthwhile to try this series. In the end, I truly enjoyed it. I really like listening to it on audiobook. The book was beautifully narrated by Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell.
