When Luke and nine of his fellow shape shifters traveled to Forest High it seemed like any other assignment that was until three years eclipsed without a single problem surfacing that would signify that the prophecy had been fulfilled. The team led by Luke, which the prophecies proclaimed to be The One to stop The Others, a fraternity who despised all human beings, begins to question the real reason they were sent there. Had the prophecy been wrong? He had wondered like the rest of them.
That was until the day she heard them. Julia Welsh was a girl with no exceptional abilities except for the fact that she was born deaf but somehow could still hear their kind. Although it seemed highly unlikely that Luke and his team were sent there because of her, Luke knew that he needed to protect Julia and her secret because if The Others were to discover the truth, she’d be killed. Though none of them could have predicted how vital Julia was to their mission and how she was truly … the exception.

I loved this book! Another great book by Leah Spiegel. This book was so unique and I loved the characters. The story-line was easy to follow and it was easy to get sucked in. I loved that the book has both Julia's the main characters point of view and Luke's point of view. It is like getting 2 books in 1. It was great to read a long book and just get lost in it.
Julie is a great main character to root for and I just loved her a lot. I can't wait for more from this author!!!!!
I got this book as a gift from Leah for a honest Review, Thank you by the Way! I loved the Foolish Game Series and I expected it to be some what like those books! Seriously thou, I didn't expect to be so consumed with this book since I started almost three days ago.
From the first page I got to meet Julia, her disability and her family, just the overall of her character that would seriously surprise me at every turn. Then I meet Luke (The One) I think in all aspects of the term, his abilities and what he's going to bring as a character. Here we go!
Julia is shy, unsure of herself and deaf. We follow her thru her first day of high school, high school is already tough for anybody. Julia was born Deaf, she has such a great family I loved that. We get to meet Julia's Best friend Jill, they have known each other since they we're little and Julia sees her more as part of her family, a sister. Jill shes the type of friend that every girl has in high school the pretty, gets along with every one, boys want to get to know her, she's "perfect" or so we think! ;) i think what Jill does is wrong and for that I hate her.
Luke, Luke, Luke what can I say about him? :) Well he's gorgeous, perfection, every girl wants him including Jill, Julia is unsure about him but she thinks he's handsome and she knows that no guy like him would be interested in her. :( But Luke sees Julia and he is interested in her! Luke knows that Julia is shy and has to find a way to approach her. Luke is not a normal "teenager" he's a shape shifter and has experience a lot in his life. I love Luke from the beginning. Luke introduces himself to Julia he knows he's has to gain her trust. Because Luke is popular he knows that it will be harder for Julia to open up to him so he becomes Jeremy he's not the "popular" guy that everybody knows he knows that Julia would trust him more.
Luke is part of the shape shifters society they are never suppose to expose themselves to the human but they protect the humans. Luke to the Shape Shifter Society is "The One" he's one powerful Shape Shifter. Luke and his group of friends take over the high school that Julia attends to. There students, teachers etc. they have been there for three years waiting for there assignment they know it has something to do with the Prophecy. They just don't know what yet. There's some things that happens that I will not say because I think you should read the book! ;) but Julia can hear Luke. Cue the music! Lol The other Shape Shifters feel like Julia has something to do with the prophecy.
This book is a great read seriously, I hope there another book because I would love to see what happens to all of them and there journey. It full of suspension, action and romance. Yes there are some grammar errors but Igive it a chance.
I was given this book to review by Leah Spiegel and to also look for mistakes. I found quite a few spelling and grammatical mistakes but I'm sure I missed a few as the story unfolded.
Wow, what a ride!! In the beginning it seemed like it was going to be a cute love story but as the story continued it became more. I couldn't put it down, I had to know what would happen next.
I truly hope there will be more books, now that it's over I feel like I've lost some really great friends.
This did not work for me. The dual POVs retold the entire previous chapter. It was too redundant for me. I like a little tension when I read. I don't want to know what each character is thinking in every situation. You may disagree, but this is my opinion. Reading is subjective. I have enjoyed other books by this author, but this one was a miss for me. I loved the premise and am disappointment that it did not work.
I was given a copy of this book from Leah in an exchange for an honest review.
I really liked the story. I was very curious on how it would unfold considering the main character is deaf. It worked out perfectly, though! The story was long but it stayed interesting an true to the plot. There were only a few times when I did feel that there were scenes's (especially when in Julia's POV) that were unnecessary and could have been left out and maybe had the plot go a little bit faster - hence why I didn't rate the book 5 stars. It was pretty hard to decide though because the story is very well written and developed. *Note: Since I was forewarned that there would be grammatical errors, I didn't consider it when I rated the book.
I LOOOVED the ending though. It went real nice and I liked how there were twists at the end so props to Leah and Megan. I loved the side characters as well and wish there will be more about them. I REALLY hope that there will be more books because I literally had the "DUN DUN DUN" music when I read the last line in the book.
I do recommend this book and hope people to read it.
Good YA paranormal novel it's very long but I enjoyed the journey that Julia and Luke went on the shifter plot was very interesting and the guessing had me on my toes right to the end the group of good shifters were a hoot not much steam but definitely romance 4 stars looking forward to the next book in the series!!!
