What do you do when the one person you don’t want is the one person you need?
When nineteen-year-old Katie said goodbye to her small hometown to go to a prestigious college far away, looking back was the last thing on her agenda. Nevertheless, it didn’t take long for everything to come crashing down around her. When Katie learns that her parents lost everything, stripping her from her comfortable life—no more fancy cars, trust fund, or money for college—Katie is left scrambling to put her life back together. Then Adam Nash walks into her life, causing it to spin even further off course.
Adam is the complete opposite of Katie. He lives his life in the fast lane—fast bikes, loose women, and easy excitement. When Katie comes crashing into his life, she is exactly what he didn’t know he needed. But Katie can’t get involved with a guy like Nash, not if she wants her old life back. However, Nash is not about to let Katie get away from him that easy. He knows what he wants… and he won’t stop until he gets it.
From the author that brought you Barbie Girl and Barbie World comes the next installment in the Baby Doll series, Doll Face—a fast-paced, new-adult novel that can be read as a standalone.
I was born on Long Island, New York. I moved around a lot when I was younger, I lived in New York, Arizona, New York (again), Washington, Georgia, and Florida, and now I’m back in New York. Each place has offered me something special. I started writing as soon as I could spell. When I was three, yes three, my mother gave me a copy of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Little House in the Big Woods; this became my most prized possession. Writing was a form of therapy for me when I realized that no matter what was happening in my life, I could find an escape in my writing. I have a degree in Humanities and English literature. I now reside in New York with my husband, and daughter, one hyper Chihuahua, two sweet cats, and one very fat moody cat. My novels include the Baby Doll Series: Barbie Girl, Barbie World, and Doll Face. The Heart of Feaylon Series published by CHBB Publishing: Dark and Twisted Games.
So after I read Barbie World, I didn't have high hopes for this book at all. Maybe that's why I so pleasantly surprised? I enjoyed Doll Face far more than I thought I would and I'm curious to see if there's going to be another book in the series.
Anyway, this book was pretty damn good and made me understand Kate better and like her (even if she is a bit of a bitch). Her character develops quite nicely and I feel that she really has grown by the end of the book which is quite a feat.
Katie’s life was just going perfect until her mother called her. Now Katie has no home, no car and no school and her father is in jail, her mother gone and her sister is god knows where.
Adam is the lucky guy who has the honor of towing away Katie’s car, only for Katie to turn crazy and start smashing the windows.
Adam is a great guy living his life with his friends and working for his dad. Adam was raised poor in the trailers, Katie had everything living rich is what she knows.
I liked this story, I loved Katie but I felt bad for her to. What I liked: The characters especially Kiki and Paul Adam was a great guy The chemistry between Adam and Katie
What I didn’t like: Adams fighting made no sense, beating up guys for talking to Katie, come on Adam you are not a caveman. Katie’s mother and Adams mother: their behavior was ridiculous and some scenes made no sense.
I thought Katie’s sister had mental issues, but she sounded more like a party girl. I was missing a little bit more depth in the main characters, overall a very good read, I loved the Barbie books and I love this one can’t wait to read the next book.
