If your looking for a excellent book to take you away, look no further than the Crown Island Series!! Books one and two were terrific so we have been waiting for the third book, Orange Blossom Way and it was worth waiting for. Orange Blossom Way brings you back to Crown Island, it is filled with everything you want in a story, a life change for the character, heartbreak, humour, laughter, adventure, antagonists, empowerment, joy and of course love. This story is about Maileah, April Raines daughter who had been living in the fast lane up in Seattle but after losing her very lucrative job and finding her live in boyfriend cheating on her. The only place she had to go was to Crown Island where her grandmother, mom and sister Junie lived. Until Maileah was sure where she was going to be working, she lived with Junie. It was far from the ideal living space as she and Junie had not gotten along in years. Orange Blossom Way continues on with Maileah trying to figure out where she belongs, what kind of work did she want and her four year plan. This story goes on to see Maileah checking out a dating site, being friends with the towns golden boy ,a surfer named Sailor, and getting a place of her own where she works on finding what is going to make her happy without settling for less than love. Jan Moran the author, takes you to beautiful places where her descriptions of the area makes you feel you are right there with the characters. Her descriptive writing takes you into Crown Island, so much so that I am surprised when I look up and I am still in my living room! Jan's books are that good and Orange Blossom Way is no different. You get so wrapped up in your reading you just can't put her books down. Be sure to read this series, if you don't, you have missed an excellent adventure. Like all Jan Moran's books this gets much more than five stars....⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I have thoroughly enjoyed every single book Jan Moran has written and this one is no exception. With her series, it's fun to revisit familiar characters and then get a chance to learn a bit (or a lot) more about new ones, as was the case with this book. My only quibble was that the plot felt a bit rushed - but perhaps that was just because I wanted the book to go on longer? Already eager to read the next installment, Hibiscus Heights, due out June 2025.
After daredevil Maileah is downsized from her job as a marketing technology guru and finding out that her significant other has been cheating on her, she decides to change her life and return to Crown Island where her mother, sister and grandmother live. While everything seems to have fallen apart for Maileah surprising and unexpected opportunities present themselves on Crown Island not only for her career, but in romance too, if she is willing to take the chance. This is a sweet ‘take it slow’ romance with characters that you will love and friends you would want to have. Crown Island turns out to be the best refuge Maileah could ever want. I received an early copy from the author of this refreshing book and this review is my honest opinion.
When Maileah arrived on Crown Island things weren't exactly rosy. Her extravagant lifestyle was lost in the round of layoffs of her prestigious marketing firm she moved back with her family to lick her wounds so to speak. And found more than she bargained on.
After some time she began to get in touch with what she really wanted and we watch her blossom with maturity and understanding. And her next door neighbor is part of that change. However, Maileah steers her own life to the life she wants and celebrates.
Jan Moran's books are marvelous escapes, and this one took me on a one day excursion from my own life into her characters'. It's one your not going to want to miss! Hop aboard! Highly Recommended 5/5
[ Disclaimer: I received this book as a gift from the author. I have chosen to read and review it]
This is book three in The Crown Island series and it is Maileah’s story and it is definitely a must read. Maileah worked for a prestigious marketing company and lived a good and free life and then everything fell apart around her with the loss of her job so she decided to move to Crown Island and stay with her sister Junie while she wanted to do next with her life and start to move forward. When Maileah had a lot of disastrous experience with a dating app she decided to concentrate on starting a business and when that started to take off and became just what she had dreamed of doing she then wanted to have a relationship that was meaningful not realising that the person who she had been looking for had already been by her side quietly making sure that she was taken care of when needed making Maileah realise that she had been looking at dating in a different way and love was right beside her all this time if she was willing to take a chance because then they could get the happiness and future that they both wanted and deserved. When that special person that you fall in love with comes into your life everything else will just fall into place and even though there will be many ups and downs along the way as long as you work together, communicate and respect each other that is when true love will give you the greatest gift. I absolutely loved this book and Maileah’s story which will take you through all her pain, disappointments, troubles, hope and finding the love and future that she always wanted while having the support of her family, friends and those closest to her while living her dreams. Jan Moran is a amazing author and writer and she certainly knows how to pull her readers into the story while keeping there attention throughout and I can’t wait to read the next book which is Hibiscus Heights in this amazing series.
I was feeling board ( misspelling on purpose) and stagnant, sort of like Maleia in the beginning. I saw this book on line, and loving Jan Moran’s work, it struck me as perfect for holding on to the waning summer. I was not disappointed. It is a fun, happy-ever-after story of a community coming together in support of one another and a very important cause. It is also a tribute to diverse and successful women making their way by doing what they love. Love is in the air in many different ways but the focus is on the decisions we make in the avenues now open to us. Like I told my daughter when she was stuck about what to do with her life, “find something you love, learn everything you can about it, put your heart and soul into it and the money will come”. And she is now a very successful entrepreneur. Moran applauds living the life we make, regardless of the “old traditional” or not, and the people we choose to live it with. This all takes place within the metaphor of the sport of surfing and facing your fears as the huge and scary waves crash around you and you wait patiently for the perfect one. Of course there is no such thing as perfection except in fleeting moments; there are chances we choose to take in order to reach higher. Moran gives us a much-needed respite in a non-violent and easy read during this 2024 World in turmoil. It helped my unending anxiety right before a pivotal moment of the vote for President 2024. And I was able to enter an idyllic world temporarily while living in our non-united “United States of America”. Traveling vicariously to an “almost perfect” place on an island in Hawaii was enchanting. It was fun to go there and visit and now I can get back to the work I chose and do what I can to make our world a better place. Highly recommended!
I recently listened to the audiobook version of Orange Blossom Way, the third installment in Jan Moran's Crown Island series, and it was a delightful experience. Erin Bennett, the narrator of many of Jan Moran's books, does a phenomenal job bringing the characters to life. Her expressive voice and ability to convey emotion add depth and warmth to the story, making the listening experience truly immersive.
As a fan who has read or listened to nearly all of Jan Moran's books, I eagerly awaited this addition to the series, and it did not disappoint. This book focuses on Maileah's story—a heartfelt tale of starting over, self-discovery, and the surprising twists of romance.
After losing her job in Seattle, Maileah moves to Crown Island to live with her sister, Junie. In her thirties and feeling uncertain about her future, she questions whether she'll ever find the partner and life she's dreamed of. Enter her friend Sailor, a charming and protective champion surfer who offers to vet the suitors she meets through a dating app. What starts as lighthearted fun evolves into an unexpected journey of love and friendship that is both heartwarming and entertaining.
This romantic, friends-to-lovers island story felt like reconnecting with old friends. The vibrant setting of Crown Island, combined with the engaging characters and heartfelt storyline, made this book a joy to listen to.
Having enjoyed many of Jan Moran's books, I highly recommend Orange Blossom Way and the entire Crown Island series. Whether you're new to her work or a longtime fan, this book is sure to captivate you with its charm, humor, and emotional depth.
Orange Blossom Way is the third installment of the delightful Crown Island series, and focuses on Maileah Raines, the daughter of April, granddaughter of Ella, and sister of Junie (all featured in the first two installments, and supporting characters in this story.) I’ve read the entire series to date, and really enjoyed reading Maileah’s story, because frankly, in the first two books, she was a real brat—angry, snarky, bitter—not likeable at all. In this book, we are reminded that Maileah has left Seattle after being laid off and going through a breakup. Her relationship with her father (he and April are divorced) isn’t the best, and she comes back to Crown Island to first live with her mom and grandma and then with her sister.
As she mends fences with her Crown Island family, she takes the time to figure out who she is and what she wants in life, career, and love. Ms. Moran does a wonderful job of taking us along on Maileah’s journey. One other thing I really like is how Ms. Moran fills us in on the backstories from the other books, which is helpful for a first-time reader. Unlike some authors I read, she doesn’t rehash the other books, but gently weaves in details that would interest the reader. Not only is this the story of a young woman (in her 30s) finding herself and embarking on the career of her dreams, but also a lovely friends-to-lovers romance. It’s always wonderful to spend time on Crown Island! I received an advanced reader’s copy from the author, and this review is my honest opinion.
Maileah is living on Crown Island with her sister Junie. Maileah is trying to figure her life out. After losing her job, she moved back home. Now she wants to get her life together. She wants to start her own marketing business, be married and have a family. One step at a time. Her dating life is not going so well, it seems she needs her friend Sailor to keep saving her from her potential mates and dates. She is trying to look for someone solid and steady, not her usual choices for men. Too bad Sailor who is a professional surfer does not want to settle down. As Maileah puts aside the dating app and focuses on her career, she is pleasantly surprised at how everything starts falling into place. This third book in the Crown Island series by Jan Moran is a wonderful novel full of family, friends and falling in love. I loved the characters and enjoyed Maileah’s story. It was also great to get to revisit the characters from the previous novels and catch up on how their lives are going. Jan Moran has a way of writing that wraps you up in a cozy blanket and takes you on a wonderful trip on Crown Island. Thank you so much to Jan Moran for my advanced readers copy which I read and reviewed voluntarily. If you love small towns, fabulous characters and feel good clean romances, then cozy up and begin your journey.
This book tells Maileah’s story. On Crown Island, Maileah is still looking for the perfect man to have in her life. Using a dating app keeps connecting her with losers. If that’s not enough, she’s decided that she must figure out how to create a job that will allow her to support herself and offer her satisfaction in what she does. Big challenges. Her sister, Junie, happy in her own relationship, is certain she has a solution to at least one of Maileah’s problems, but does she?
This was sweet story of familial love, rising to meet challenges, and a friends-to-lovers romance. It’s beautifully written and perfectly paced. It involves the planning and execution of a charity event, surfing, and a bunch of jumping-to-conclusions. The characters are wonderfully imperfect, and believable.
As I have with the previous books in this series, I enjoyed Orange Blossom Way very much. It’s a delightful read filled with humor, romance, and family and friends coming together to help one another. It’s a feel good, happily ever after, can’t wait for more book. While it’s part of a series, it can easily be read as a standalone.
I highly recommend it.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book from the author. I thank her for her generosity, but it had no effect on this review. All opinions in this review reflect my true and honest reactions to reading this book.

On book three of the Crown Island series it is Maileah’s turn to find love and find herself. This book can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading since beginning of the series to get the full picture and background of the story. You know that when you pick up one of Jan Moran’s books you’ll get an exceptional book with heartwarmed family interactions and characters that feel like your friends, this book is not the exception. We see the growth of character in Maileah, from disillusioned, careless, irresponsable to entrepreneur, put together and responsible. She has been looking for love in all the wrong places and with the wrong men, but never realized that love was just staring to her place all along, and when she realized who her soulmate is everything clicked together. This story will engulf you with characters that you wish were your friends, themes of courage, second chances, heartbreak, love for yourself, self believing, personal growth and of course lots of love. The series just keeps getting better and better with each new book. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
"Orange Blossom Way" by Jan Moran is the perfect getaway book! The third in the Crown Island series, it delivers all the small-town charm and heartwarming romance you’d expect. This time, we follow Maileah, who’s picking up the pieces after losing her job and catching her boyfriend cheating. She heads back to Crown Island to stay with her sister and starts figuring out what’s next in life—cue the dating app disasters and an unexpected romance.
Jan Moran’s writing transports you straight to the beachy vibes of Crown Island. The characters are so relatable and fun, you’ll wish they were your real-life friends. The story has it all—humor, heartbreak, personal growth, and, of course, plenty of love! I couldn’t put it down and can’t wait for the next book in the series.
If you’re a fan of clean, feel-good romances with quirky small-town charm, this one’s a must-read! Thanks to Jan Moran for the early copy—I’m already counting down to “Hibiscus Heights”!
While I was gifted a copy of the book, all of the above opinions are my own.
This is the third book of the Crown Island series. This book centers on Maileah, the sister that had a high flying lifestyle, then reality sets in. Out of work, living with her younger sister and looking for love in all the wrong places. Haven’t we all been there in one way or another at some point? It was uplifting to follow along with her as she reimagines her life. I may or may not have misted up just a little bit at the end. This could be a stand alone but reading the series in order gives great background for this book. Disclosure: A review copy of this book was sent to me by the author. All of the above opinions are my

After a bad breakup and losing her job Maileah is ready for a change so she heads to Crown Island to stay with her sister. The storyline is well done and flowed smoothly and I loved all the characters from this small coastal town. Maileah takes center stage in this book and luckily she has supportive family and friends to keep her in check. She’s trying to turn her life around and hopes that being on a dating app will help. But, she doesn’t realize that life has a way of unfolding on its own.
The book has everything you want from a good storyteller—a little drama, a little romance, relatable characters and a great setting, Although the ending is a little predictable, overall this a good read.
I received a review copy from the author, but the opinions are definitely my own.

Once again Jan Moran has written a heartwarming tale, and has continued her Crown Island series with her realistic characters who bring the town to life in a good way! I love how easy these stories are to read and enjoy, and I feel like I could sit down with any of the characters in a restaurant and start up a friendly conversation. Well done, Jan, thank you!

Let's return to Crown Island for more excitement. Orange Blossom Way is the third installment of the Coral Beach series. This time we follow the adventures of Maileah as she finds the love she has been looking for. I love that the characters in the books are relatable and realistic. Truly an enjoyable read.
Maileah unlucky in love and jobless returns to Crown Island ( where she summered growing up) to regroup and possibly make a fresh start. Characters were so flat and one dimensional (even though love interest “Sailor” was supposed to be exciting as he was a professional surfer) ——it was rough to get through.
Maisie’s story is a journey of personal and professional growth. While highlighting her growth with in family, we see her developments in creating and achieving professional goals. All in all a relaxing and hope filled read.
Maileah and Sailor are friends but Sailor would like more. As a pro surfer, he knows Maileah doesn't think they can be more than friends. Will Maileah realize what is in front of her? Loved catching up with everyone in Crown Island. Great story!
This is a clean beach read that will take you away from your every day problems and into Crown Island. You will wish that you were there. The story is realistic and characters relatable.
