After two decades as a widow, Millie Fisher, Amish matchmaker, quilter, goat tender, and sleuth is now a 60-something newlywed! But when she adds snowbird to her list amid the chill of an Ohio winter, murder finds a way to follow . . .
After years on her own, Millie has been busy adjusting to married life once again. Meanwhile, her best friend, Lois Henry, is still salty that Millie didn’t have a big wedding where she could get dressed up and be maid of honor. But there’s a way Millie can make it up to with a dreary January upon them, it's the perfect time for a girls’ trip to the Amish community in sunny Pinecraft, Florida. Oft-divorced Lois is decidedly not Amish, but she thinks it will be a hoot.
With the blessing of her sweet husband, Uriah, Millie agrees to go. On the tour bus that transports Ohio’s Amish snowbirds to Florida every year, Millie and Lois strike up a friendship with a young woman traveling alone. She reminds Millie of her beloved niece, and Millie takes her under her wing. But even before the end of their first day in Florida, tragedy strikes.
Millie and Lois find their new friend dead on the beach, seemingly drowned. But who would want to hurt the sweet young woman? Is there a murderous snowbird among them? Or was it someone vengeful from her past? Clearly, vacation time is over for Millie and Lois, and it’s time to dive beneath the surface to hook a killer . . .

My first book from this series and I think I should maybe have read the earlier books first because this one did not really grab me. From other people's reviews I can see that those who have been reading the books since #1 are very attached to all the characters, even the piglet.
Millie Fisher is an Amish woman living in Ohio. It is winter and freezing cold so she jumps at the chance to spend some time with her best friend, Lois, in sunny Florida. However when a newly met friend is found murdered Millie and Lois spend their vacation sleuthing.
Not a bad book at all but not especially memorable either. Though actually I shall probably remember the pig for a while!
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Millie and Lois are off to Pinecraft, Florida from chilly Ohio, Lois' treat. On the bus trip, Millie makes friends with a young Amish woman but something is off with her. Things get worse in the small town which is in the city of Sarasota as tragedy strikes. The two put on their sleuthing hats to find answers. But who would expect to see Harvest friends there? Jethro the pig with Juliet and Rev. Brook, Ruth Yoder and Bishop Yoder are all there for a minister's convention. Lots of fun for Millie to see the ocean for the first time as she and Lois investigate lots of suspects and surprises along the way. I received a copy for the purpose of an honest review. These are my thoughts.
I love this series. They are easy reads and page turners. The author is my favorite cozy mystery writer. I thought the mystery was humorous and entertaining. I didn’t guess who the murderer was and when it was revealed it was a surprise for sure and certain. The story grabbed me in from the beginning. There are a lot of suspects that had motives for the murder but only one killer. When Lois Henry and Millie Fisher get together a dead body always seems to show up. When the ladies decide to take a quick trip to Pinecraft Florida trouble gets on the bus with them. Millie makes friends with a young woman named Caroline Zook. Millie hopes to take Caroline under her wing and teach her how to quilt. When the bus arrives in Florida Caroline leaves without saying goodbye. She later shows up dead on the beach. Lois and Millie put on their sleuthing hats and make their suspect list. They have a week to solve this murder. Can they do it? I highly recommend this book to readers of Cozy Mystery and Mystery Thrillers. It’s book 6 of an Amish Matchmaker Mystery series. It can be read as a stand alone. It’s scheduled for release on 11/25/25. I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of Newly Weds Can Be knocked Off. All thoughts and opinions about this book are solely my own. #NewlywedsCanBeknockedOff #NetGalley
This is an Amish Cozy Mystery, and this is the sixth book in An Amish Matchmaker Mystery series. I have read most of the other books in this series before picking up this book. This book was so much fun to read, and I loved all the characters. The pig is the best character. I really enjoyed reading this book. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.
This was such a fun book to read. Millie and Lois are off to Florida, and they both are hoping to avoid any murder investigations. Things start off with Millie befriending a young woman on the bus, and things take a sad turn, when Millie discovers her body, just hours later. Millie and Lois are determined to find out what happened and soon begin their own investigation. There are so many laugh out loud moments in the story, because Jethro the pig is in Florida too. I love this series and I'm very happy to recommend it to others. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for selecting me to read an advanced copy of this book.
"Newlyweds Can Be Knocked Off (An Amish Matchmaker Mystery #6)" by Amanda Flower is actually the first of this series I have read. However, I have read many of Amanda Flower's companion series "An Amish Candy Shop Mysteries." There's a lot of character a d world crossover since they're both set in the same world and town. Well, most of the characters in this one are from that same town but end up down in pinecraft, Florida. A Florida town that had a thriving Amish community.
The story is told from Amish woman, Millie's, point of view. She and her English best friend, Lois, are taking a bachelorette's trip (as Lois puts it, Millie is newly remarried) to Florida. While there they run into several of their neighbors from back home since there is a Pastoral conference also going on in the same town. This includes Jethro the spotted pet pig.
Millie also makes a new friend. A young Amish woman who was traveling alone on the bus down to Florida. She sort of takes her under her wing and teaches her sewing on the long ride. Unfortunately, this young lady is in the middle of some major controversy that ends up in a death. Millie and Lois feel obligated to help figure out what happened. They get labeled as "the nutty old ladies from Ohio." They figure it out in the end though.
I really wasn't surprised by the reveal by the time it happened. The clues were laid out well. It was more like a "I knew it!" moment. It was interesting to see this world from a different character's point of view than I'm used to. I will need to read this series now in addition to the Candy Shop series.
This is the sixth book in the Amish Matchmaker series, which is a spin-off from the popular Amish Candy Shop series. Some old friends from that series, including Jethro the mischievous pig, play a role in this book. The two main characters of this book (and the series) are best friends Millie and Lois. Millie Fisher is an Amish woman who recently remarried after being widowed many years ago. Her longtime friend Is Lois Henry who has been married several times and is always on the lookout for her next husband. She is not Amish, but the two women respect each other's beliefs even if they don't always agree with them and are the best of friends.
This book finds the two friends taking a bus trip from their home in Ohio to Florida. Millie is thrilled to leave the cold behind, but will miss her husband and her two pet goats. On the bus, Millie befriends a young newlywed who seems to be having some problems in her recent marriage. Millie is shocked and saddened when she, Lois, and Jethro find the young woman dead on the beach shortly after they arrive in Florida. Lois doesn't call Millie the Amish Marple for nothing - Millie is determined to find out who killed the young Amish woman. From the clues in the story, I was able to identify the killer but was surprised by the motive. This was a fun book in an entertaining series.
I received an advance copy of this ebook for review consideration from Kensington Books, Kensington Cozies, and NetGalley. My review is voluntary and unbiased.
Here's the thing - when the writing is good [and not bogged down by tedious repetition and obvious mistakes re: Lois and her brick; she has used it before so she and Millie acting like it was a new thing was...baffling ], the story is fantastic and engaging, drawing you in with its unusual storyline. Unfortunately, this happening is both few and far between and I found myself frustrated over and over again [did we really need Jethro AND Ruth -who is particularly disagreeable and made me want to smack her more than usual - in this story? R E A L L Y?? ]; I love Millie and Lois together and its their relationship/friendship that has kept me reading [may we all have a friendship that endures like theirs ], but this one tested my very loyalty [DO NOT EVEN get me started on that reveal/ending, which amongst other things was one of the most rushed reveals I've read in some time ] and I am still struggling to decide if I will read the next one should there be one. I liked this one [in the sense that when it was good and I was really into the story before I was WHAMMED back into meh ], but truly, I am also really disappointed.
Thank you to NetGalley, Amanda Flower, and Kensington Publishing/Kensington Cozies for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
As a way to make up for Millie’s low-key wedding that didn’t allow Lois to get all gussied up, Lois convinces Millie to take a girls’ trip to the Amish community in Pinecraft, Florida, to get away from winter in Ohio. On the bus ride, Millie befriends a young woman who is traveling alone and seems out of sorts. When her body is found on the beach on their very first day in Florida, the two friends don’t believe her death was an accident and are determined to find her killer.
This is the sixth book in this series, which I have enjoyed since the very first book. I like learning a bit more about the Amish with each book, and I love the friendship between Millie, an Amish woman, and Lois, decidedly non-Amish but living in an Amish community. It goes to show what can happen when two people respect each other, despite sometimes significant differences of opinion.
Other than the brief conversation between Millie and the victim on the bus ride, we didn’t really know much about her, so it was hard to identify potential suspects at first. As the ladies began asking questions, though, several possibilities occurred. There were enough red herrings to confuse me, and I didn’t figure out who the killer was until it became obvious in the book. I had someone else pegged as the killer up until that point.
Since we didn’t get to spend time with most of the usual recurring characters from Harvest, I look forward to reading the next book in the series and catching up with them… and having another adventure with Millie and Lois too.
Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Road trip! In Newlyweds Can Be Knocked Off, BFFs and amateur detectives Amish Millie and non-Amish Lois hit the road for Florida. On the bus to get there, Millie befriends a young Amish girl. When Millie soon finds the girl dead, the two seventy-year-old women once again team up to investigate the crime.
Amanda Flower is one of my favorite cozy mystery authors. Her characters are adorable friends I look forward to visiting each year. The Amish setting sets her apart from the typical cozy mystery. The idea of writing two series simultaneously in the same setting: one from an Amish perspective and the other from a non-Amish one is brilliant. Unfortunately, this particular entry falls a bit short for me.
In this sixth book in the Amish Matchmaker series, I love the new temporary locale of not only Florida but also the annual pastors’ conference they find there. However, it seems a bit too unbelievable for them to run into a) the series’ pet pig in need of their babysitting services, and b) Millie’s frenemy, the strict rule-following Ruth and her quiet husband, who need to bunk with Millie and Lois. I also thought the mystery was unsolvable without one crucial clue revealed only at the conclusion.
So overall, while I still love visiting with the characters, Newlyweds Can Be Knocked Off is definitely my least favorite book in either of the series. It doesn’t move the overarching series’ plot either so missing it shouldn’t impact your enjoyment of the books to come. If you are just starting this series, please read any other book first. Otherwise, Newlyweds Can Be Knocked Off is best only for longtime fans of the series and completists. A disappointed 3 stars.
Thanks to NetGalley and Kensington Cozies for providing me with an advanced review copy.
Another exciting adventure with Millie and Lois! I loved that Lois encouraged Millie to visit a different Amish area in Florida.
When on a bus to Florida, Millie meets a timid Amish woman named Caroline and forms a friendship. When Millie later finds Caroline’s body on the beach, she is called to investigate with Lois by her side. The story unfolds with English and Amish tensions, hidden pasts, and a slew of suspects. As always, Ruth, Juliet, Jethro, and more of the Harvest gang make appearances.
I really enjoyed this series and it was nice to explore a new location through the eyes and actions of Millie and Lois. The ending felt a little rushed, but overall a great read.
Thank you to #NetGalley and #KensingtonPublishing for an ARC.
Millie is lifelong Ohio Amish and her best friend Lois Henry is everything but. Lois decides to take Millie on a vacation to the Amish community near Sarasota, Florida. Sounds like fun. On the bus to Florida they meet a young woman who says that she is rather newly wed and is going to join her husband in the very place they're going. But the next day, the young woman is found murdered on the beach by Millie and then things really get crazy. I laughed my way through the little Comfort Pig's antics, Millie and Lois putting up with the preposterous elder's wife, investigating everyone in the girl's family, and dealing with Florida police who are nothing like the ones back in Ohio. Laughed my sox off as usual with this series! I requested and received a temporary unedited digital galley from Kensington Publishing | Kensington Cozies via NetGalley. Such a fun entertaining book by Amanda Flower. The mystery behind the story kept me guessing and laughing especially when my favorite pig from Amanda’s Amish Candy Shop mystery series made his appearance with his shenanigans. Definitely a must read.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book by NetGalley and the publisher. All words are my own.
I absolutely adore this series by Amanda Flower. A little mystery, a lot of laughs and unforgettable characters.
This was one of my favorites in the series, a Florida vacation, an appearance from Jethro the naughty pig and of course Millie and Lois getting caught up in another murder to solve.
Having lived in Florida, it was fun to take this virtual trip there with Millie and Lois. Seeing Millie experience Florida for the first time was a hoot. Lois dubbed it a Bachelorette Getaway, never mind that Millie is a relative newlywed and Lois, well, she's had a few husbands. Unfortunately, it soon turns into a murder investigation although, phew, they still manage to work in some typical tourist activities. The surprise is how many of their home town friends and associates are in Florida, too, at the same place. Pinecraft is hosting a multi-religion ministers' convention of sorts and that brought not just the likes of Ruth Yoder and husband but others. Even Jethro, the always entertaining "Comfort Pig" is there.
Then there's a murder. Always caring and friendly, Millie Fisher, the Amish matchmaker (or Amish Miss Marple as Lois has dubbed her) befriends a young, solo traveler, Caroline, on the bus trip south. Sadly, the next day, while experiencing her first Florida sunrise on the beach, Millie discovers Caroline's dead body washed up by the pier. Her hands had been tied and there were signs of trauma. Let's just say, all signs point to murder. Who'd have killed this seemingly harmless young woman, a recent convert to the Amish way of life after marriage to Cainan, a young Amish man who runs a business in Pinecraft. I won't detail the plot further other than to say there are lots of crossover cast appearances from author Flower's Amish Candy Shop series. Even Bailey, its main character, makes a small but significant appearance. Trust me, both Millie and Lois wish she were there with her pig wrangling expertise. Keeping Jethro out of mischief could be a full time job.
Bottom line, another fun, interesting read from Amanda Flower. I thoroughly enjoyed the virtual trip south and could only grin as Millie encountered things like not just the often oppressive heat but manatee viewings, sea grapes, the seashore, and clash of cultures. It's always fun to wonder what unexpected thing Lois will matter-of-factly pull from her bag this go-round and she never disappoints. In the process of trying to experience Florida, they are, of course, dealing with grieving family and suspicious minds. The past plays a role, too, as it frequently does in mysteries. Thanks to #KensingtonPublishing and #NetGalley for this early virtual trip/peek at Millie and Lois's Florida adventure. To answer Millie's pondering of how many Floridians would leave warm Florida for colder climes, I'm one of them. Grin.
Newlyweds Can Be Knocked Off Book Six in The Amish Matchmaker Series by Amanda Flower Genre: Mystery/Thrillers, Cozy Mystery, Amish Fiction Pages: 336 ISBN: 9781496737502 Publisher: Kensington Cozies Pub date: Nov. 28, 2025
Thanks to NetGalley and Kensington Cozies for an e-copy of the book. All opinions are my own.
Millie Fisher, Amish matchmaker, and her best friend, Englisher Lois Henry, are going on a vacation. They are leaving Ohio’s dreary winter weather and heading to Pinecrest, Florida. Pinecrest is an Amish village in Sarasota, and many Amish snowbirds flee the cold winter months for Florida’s warmth. Millie and Lois are two of the passengers on the Pinecrest-bound bus. Caroline Zook is another one. It’s clear from the way she acts she wasn’t raised Amish, but she has adopted the faith as her own, a rare move and one that intrigues Millie. Millie befriends Caroline on the long bus ride and hopes to see more of her once they reach Pinecrest. But the next time Millie sees Caroline, she is the victim of a murder. The local detective isn’t impressed with their credentials, and he warns them away from the case. But the two are determined to find out both the secrets Caroline kept and the identity of her murderer.
Even though Newlyweds Can Be Knocked Off takes place in a different Amish community than Harvest, Millie and Lois run into several people from home. Juliet is there with her husband, and Jethro, her pet pig. Ruth Yoder and her husband the bishop are also there, much to Lois’s chagrin. Even though the book takes place a thousand miles from Harvest, it works because several familiar characters are also in Pinecrest for a convention.
The murder mystery involves long-held secrets, forbidden love, revenge, and looking for acceptance within a different culture. The red herrings and misdirection are plentiful and effective-at least on this reader. There is also humor woven throughout the book, especially when Jethro and Ruth Yoder are present.
I’ve read all the books in this series, and Newlyweds Can Be Knocked Off is a great addition to the Amish Matchmaker books. This goes on my keeper shelf. 5/5 stars
Newlyweds Can Be Knocked Of by Amanda Flower returns to odd couple friends, Lois and Millie. Millie was a traditional Amish woman and Lois was anything but; they had been friends since childhood and they were friends of Bailey King, local candy maker and amateur sleuth, as were they. Lois had convinced Millie to visit Florida for five days; there was an Amish settlement there, so Millie agreed, leaving her new husband, Uriah, on this own with her two goats, Peter and Phillip. Oh, yes, an important fact is that these ladies are on the opposite side of 70 and well known for getting into trouble. As Lois slept, Millie spent a pleasant night teaching a young Amish woman how to quilt, although she couldn’t understand why she didn’t already know. She reluctantly said good-bye to her new friend. When they got there one of the first people they ran into was Juliet Brook, along with her pet pig, Jethro. Juliet was the pastor’s wife from back home. So, they were to babysit. On their first walk, Jethro discovered a body. It turned out to be Caroline, the young woman from the bus. Other surprises awaited them.
Millie and Lois are a good pair, good investigators since they appealed to different sorts of people. Secrets were revealed that had lead to Caroline’s death, but it was complicated. These characters are totally entertaining, as different as can be and yet you compatible. Millie is wholly Amish and pretty conservative, although cognizant of the world around her. Lois was on the hunt for her fourth husband, and dressed to accomplish that goal. She was fearless, which often brought Millie to try things she wouldn’t have otherwise: in this case, using scooters to get around. The Amish here in Florida were not quite as conservative as those in Ohio, but Millie got on well with those she met, even with Jethro underfoot. Very entertaining read.
I was invited to read Newlyweds Can Be Knocked Off by Kensington Publishing. All thoughts and opinions are mine. #Netgalley #KensingtonPublishing #AmandaFlower #NewlywedsCanBeKnockedOff
Newlyweds Can Be Knocked Off is the sixth cozy mystery series in the Amish Matchmaker Mystery series. Lois is treating Millie to a trip to Florida as a belated wedding gift and the two are ready for some time in the sun during their girls’ getaway. The only problem is trouble seems to follow them wherever they go and even in Florida they stumble upon another dead body. They aren’t on their usual home turf and the detectives warn them off investigating, but Millie and Lois can’t stop their curiosity. Will they be able to put the puzzle pieces together before it’s too late?
I have loved Millie and Lois since I met them on the Amish Candy Shop Mystery series and I love them even more in their own series. This was a pleasant change of scenery and another great mystery that had me pulled in from the first chapter. I did miss Millie’s goats though! This mystery was fun and entertaining the whole way through and it kept me guessing until the end. I love Amanda Flower’s mysteries and this one doesn’t disappoint. Millie and Lois are so great together, the humor they provide makes for a fun read. I really enjoyed this mystery and flew through it. I can’t wait to see what comes next for this duo!
I was delighted to read the sixth book in the Amish Matchmaker Mystery series, Newlyweds Can Be Knocked Off. Amanda Flower is one of my favorite cozy mystery authors ---she combines caring characters, mystery, and murder, resulting in fun, quick reads. Very satisfying from the adorable cover to the reveal of the culprit.
A Florida trip is Lois's gift to recently wed Millie --Lois considers it to be a Bachelorette party. Millie makes friends with a young woman on the bus and plans to meet with her later. The ladies want to see the ocean and walk on the beach. while there, they inadvertently find a body-- and Jethro, the pig. I do love that little porker. The twisted mystery takes off early and moves at a fast pace.
The characters are as much of a draw for me as the mystery. The Amish community is also a strong area of interest, and often surprises me, I recommend this book to mystery readers, cozy readers, and those who enjoy a good read.
My thanks to #NetGalley #KensingtonPublishing #KensingtonCozies #AnAmishMatchmakerMystery @AmandaFlower All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Newlyweds Can Be Knocked Off by Amanda Flower is a delightful tale. I laughed often while reading this story. Millie and Lois are trouble magnets. The pair head to Pinecraft, Florida for a week of sunshine and relaxation (fat chance). Their trip seems doomed from the beginning when Lois upsets the bus driver by being late and having an excessive amount of luggage. Add in a dead body, the bishop’s negative wife, and mischievous polka dotted pig along with its owner. The story is easy to read and moves along at a steady pace. Mayhem and humor abound in this story. Lois and Millie pursue the case despite warnings from a local detective. The resolution features Lois cleverly using an unexpected item from her purse (I loved it). I like that the characters from An Amish Candy Shop Mysteries that were included in this story (Bailey, Juliet, Aiden, a clever and photogenic pig to name a few). Newlyweds Can Be Knocked Off is the sixth An Amish Matchmaker Mystery and it can be read as a standalone for those new to this amusing series. Newlyweds Can Be Knocked Off is an entertaining tale with a protracted bus trip, quilt instruction, an escapee pig, finding another stiff, a negative Nelly, a difficult detective, and a helpful purse.
This book was a lot of fun! Millie is recently married, and her present from Lois is a girls trip to Florida. While on the bus, Millie bonds with a girl who is recently married to an Amish man in Florida. While things do not appear as they seem to Millie, she makes an instant connection and decides to help the girl out. On their first day at the beach, Millie and Lois are shocked to find Jethro and Juliet on the same beach! Jethro keeps running away and sadly finds a body. It is up to Millie and Lois to figure out what happened and bring closure to a shocking death. It was a wonderful adventure to see Millie and Lois outside of Harvest. The surprising cameos buy others throughout the book was fantastic and many times I was left laughing out loud. I highly recommend this series and am super excited for what comes next! Thank you to Netgalley and Kensington Publishing for the advanced copy.
This is the sixth book in the Amish Matchmaker Mystery series. I have read all of them except the first. I enjoy Millie and Lois. They are on a trip to Florida when Millie befriends a young Englisch girl that has recently married an Amish man. She turns up dead. There were plenty of suspects and twists and turns. I did not have a hard time picking out the murderer but the rationale was not set in my mind. I felt for the family through this time of loss.
I had a hard time believing Jethro was in Florida. The preacher’s wife needs to take responsibility for the animal. He didn’t need to be at the convention. I no longer have a tolerance for the Bailey‘s mother-in law, Juliette.
The mystery was great, the humor wonderful and unfortunately a bad decision to kill another person.
I recommend the mystery and it can be read as a standalone. I was given an e-copy ARC by Netgalley. These are my opinions.
Newlyweds Can Be Knocked Off is the sixth book in the Amish Matchmaker Mystery Series by Amanda Flower. The Amateur sleuth is Millie, an Amish matchmaker and quilter who is going on vacation with her Englisher friend Lois.
Millie meets another Amish woman on the way to Florida and is surprised and dismayed when the woman turns up dead on the beach after they arrive at their destination.
I adore Amanda Flower books. They always have the perfect mix of heart, humor, and suspense. This one made me laugh out loud a lot!
I love sleuthing in Harvest, Ohio where the series is typically set. However, it was fun to go on a road trip with Millie and Lois.
I was thrilled that Jethro, my favorite toaster sized polka dot pig, made an appearance. As always, he provided wonderful comic relief in all the right moments.
The clues were well-crafted and made the mystery fair but suspenseful.
I love this series and can't wait to read the next one!
Lois and Millie are back! And it is zanier than ever! They are on vacation in Florida and of course a dead body turns up! Expecting to have a lovely time by the ocean(that Millie has never seen) they unexpectedly run into some hometown folk. Juliet and her pastor husband are attending a conference near where Lois and Millie are staying. Of course Juliet can't go anywhere without her comfort pig Jethro. And of course Jethro is up to his mischievous self! When he roots out the dead body Millie recognizes the person immediately. Amish Marple is on the case after that! Of course with Lois leading the way Millie finds herself on e-scooters trying to keep up. She also manages to get tipped over in a kayak and unfortunately make a killer mad. And what would be an Amish Matchmaker Mystery without sourpuss Ruth Yoder on the scene to keep Lois on her toes matching wits and barbs! Newlyweds Can Be Knocked Off is filled with adventure, comedy and mystery and kept me entertained to the very end.
I loved learning that the Amish took time to go on vacation and visit the beach; it was nice to have Millie and Lois out of Ohio and on the warm sands for another adventure. The mystery was well-paced but there was no way for me to figure this out ahead of time as the information needed was held onto until the very end. I always enjoy learning more about Lois and Millie’s friendship but did Jethro, who I love, and Juliet, the most annoying character in any of Flower’s Amish books, really have to be there? It took away from the story and how anyone deals with this woman is unfathomable. Also, there was very little talk of her quilting and zero matchmaking so that seems to have gone to the wayside, which is a shame because they were things that I enjoyed from earlier books. Hoping those come back in subsequent books.
I received a copy from #NetGalley and #KensingtonBooks for an honest review.
Millie and Lois go on vacation to Pinecrest, Florida. They encounter several things they don’t expect - Ruth Yoder, Jethro the pig and murder. This is quite the twisty tale. The events that culminate in murder are rather sad. What is left behind is a sad Amish husband, who lost his new bride and a pastor father who lost his daughter. Millie has quite the ride with Jethro and Lois pulling her into all sorts of adventures. She even rides a scooter. I’m not sure her wardrobe will ever be the same between the rain, the sea and the sand. This is an enjoyable read. It did bog down a bit for me between halfway to three quarters through. As this book takes place in a different location, it would be a good one to read as a stand-alone if a reader was curious about the Amish Marple. Thanks to Netgalley and Kensington for the opportunity to read this book.
Millie Fisher has finally married after many years. Her best friend, and Englisher, Lois Henry, has offered her a trip to sunny Pinecraft, Florida, and leave the cold Ohio winter behind.
It doesn’t take these two sleuths long to find something to get into.
In her new book, Newlyweds Can Be Knocked Off, by Amanda Flower we go on an adventure to see who killed Caroline. Some of your favorite characters are returning and there are others added to the storyline.
The setting is unique, and the story moves quickly along with funny and serious interactions between the characters.
Ms. Flower does a good job of keeping you interesting. It is well written and worth the read.
I was given an ARC from the publisher for my honest opinion. All opinions are my own, and I was not required to give a positive review.
Newlyweds Can Be Knocked Off is book #6 in the An Amish Matchmaker Mystery series by Amanda Flower.
I always enjoy when characters go to another location. I’d love to road trip with Millie and Lois. Unfortunately, for the young lady they befriend on their way to Florida, she is found dead. Millie and Lois don’t get much of a vacation as they start investigating the murder. Can they solve it before it is time to return home? This is an easy to read book with wonderful characters and humor. It can be read as a standalone book, but I recommend reading the whole series to see how the characters and relationships have developed throughout the series.
Thank you to the author, Kensington Cozies, and NetGalley for the Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This time are girls are in Pinecraft Florida, Lois and Millie travel by bus from Holmes Country Ohio, and meet Carolyn. Well mostly Millie spends time with Carolyn, Lois is sleeping, not a good traveler! Of course murder follows these sleuths and darling Jethro does too! I enjoy these seasoned ladies, often with chuckles, and Lois is looking for a new husband, you never know where you will find one! As these woman look for the culprit, I had a guess, but in the end I was wrong and never did guess the correct one! I am look forward to another book in this enjoyable series! I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Kensington, and was not required to give a positive review.
