A charming, funny beginning to what promises to be an action-packed series of Uncharted/Indiana-Jones-for-kids adventures, with 100% more talking dogs.

Personally found some of the plot pacing far too speedy, wouldn't have minded the book being maybe 50% longer, and wasn't keen on all of the language play—perhaps a bit twee in places—but that's as an adult reader. The true measure of this book will be how it holds its target audience, which I'm fairly certain it won't have any problems with.

Worth mentioning that the illustrations are very nice too.

Funny and different, good adventure. Not my personal favorite but a good funny read for tweens.
