not my usual style, and my first entry into Manga. interesting, and fast paced, but not sure how much of that is the story itself, the visual nature of the medium, or the raw speed the medium enables. I want to try more in the series.

The line work in this is excellent, but I wasn’t impressed by the story. Ginko is a goofy, bloodthirsty samurai looking to meet her end in a final, righteous batttle, then she gets isekai’ed to a fantastical world where she can fight to her heart’s desire.
I already have volume 2 from the library, so I’ll see if it catches its footing.

Promising start, definitely gonna continue when the next volumes show up at my library.
Some fun elements but surprisingly violent. For some reason my brain went oh it's gonna be a chill series when reading the title... not so chill, very action-packed so far!

Alter Schwede! Wie gut war das denn bitteschön!? Hab ja schon was cooles erwartet.. aber das war ja mal mega! 🤩🔥
Der Plot ist schon etwas abgefahren - ein Mädchen, das Samurai ist und unbedingt auf dem Schlachtfeld sterben will.. weil sie einfach keine stärkeren Gegner findet, sucht sie vergeblich Hilfe bei einem Mönch und spricht mit Buddha.. äußert ihren Wunsch, in eine Hölle voller Dämonen geschickt zu werden und bäm 💥 landet sie in einer anderen Welt! Wie kann man das bitte nicht total abgefahren finden!? Ich find die Kombination aus Samurai, dem Jahr um 1600 und dann der Flip in die andere Welt voller Monster, Magie und Helden sehr interessant und spannend. Dazu noch dieses richtig starke Artwork mit extrem atmosphärischen Momenten! Auch die Charaktere bekommen im ersten Band schon einiges an Tiefe und wirken dadurch schon etwas nahbarer, als es sonst öfters der Fall ist. Dazu der Witz und Charme, der zwischendurch eingestreut wird - ich find's einfach großartig! 😄
Wer also Spaß an actionreichen Panels, Samurai, Isekai und atemberaubenden Zeichnungen hat, der wird hier sicherlich ordentlich viel Spaß haben! 🔥

On en avait vu des isekai, mais l'idée de le mélanger avec du samouraï, je ne l'avais pas vu venir. Voici donc un divertissement pour ceux qui aimeraient voir une samouraï japonaise dans un univers de fantasy médiévale européen.
On ne va pas se le cacher, nous sommes dans du pur divertissement. Ce sont donc combats sur combats, dépaysement géographique et temporel, et personnages qui se veulent de caractère. Mais sans que rien ne soit réellement approfondi. C’est léger.
Non pas que notre samouraïe porte l'humour en devise. Elle est plutôt sérieuse. Mais c’est le décalage entre ses idéaux, ses grandes valeurs et le lieu où elle se retrouve où elle ne connait rien, qui est amusant. Cela m'a donc, assez plu, de suivre Ginko de son Japon médiéval au nôtre. J'ai aimé avoir changé de lieu et de perspective mais garder toujours son envie de mourir dignement au combat.
La narration comme les dessins sont dynamiques. Les personnages sont certes un peu clichés mais sympathiques à suivre. Après un rapide de passage au Japon où elle était assez solitaire, elle fait très vite des rencontres dans cette fantasy médiévale. Et il est même assez amusant de voir comment elle s’accoquine avec une certaine sœur elfe. Dernier point positif, cela fait aussi du bien de montrer qu'il y a eu des femmes samouraïs.
Au programme donc, comment est le samouraï va s’acoutumer à un monde de fantasy médiévale européen avec des Dragons qui la fascinent, des codes qu’elle n'a pas et des personnages déjantés. Drôle et léger, ça change un petit peu des autres isekai.

Pensé que iba a ser un tomo más fantasioso que otra cosa, pero si bien el elmento ISEKAI es clave y es el que está más presente, me gustó la onda distendida de las aventuras y las escenas pavotas que obviamente me hicieron reír. Pienso volver para el tomo 2.

Ginko is the strongest samurai of her age, but she just wants to die in honorably in battle. As that seems impossible, she prays to Buddha to send her an opponent worthy of her. Buddha obliges, in a sort of “be careful what you wish for” sort of way. As Ginko rises the next day, she slowly discovers she is no longer in her land, and there are monsters aplenty, including a dragon! Ginko skips off to fight the scary monsters first, figure out why she’s in another world second, and maybe one of these impossible foes will do her the favor of giving her that honorable death she’s been looking for. From this first volume, this definitely feels like it’s going to be a monster-of-the-week kind of storyline with Ginko becoming embroiled in increasingly difficult monster battles, mixed with the politics of this world, and maybe one day she may attain her goal. There are many humorous moments and adorable illustrations to heighten the comedy.
