In a world on the edge of chaos, two sisters stand on opposite sides of Fate.
Evie and her friends, haunted by what happened on the Isle of Agreevas, grapple with loss and the weight of a looming battle as the future of their world hangs in the balance. Their tight knit group is in shambles. Each of them dealing with the fallout of what happened in their own, seemingly destructive, ways. Amidst political pressures and an impending war, decisions must be made.
Delainey, torn between the affections of a once lost love and the insatiable hunger for power, must confront a darkness within herself that could consume everything she holds dear.
Tensions rise in a kingdom poised on the brink of destruction. Loyalties will be tested. One wrong move, and their worlds could collapse.
Fates Released embarks on a journey where the strength of friendship, the burdens of power, and the meaning of sacrifice converge in a tale that explores the heart's resilience against the dark forces that threaten to tear it apart.
Will they be able to survive the prophecy of the Fates, or will shadows of the past doom them?

L.M. Rhys is an independent fantasy author with a passion for weaving together the lives of captivating and dynamic characters in a world filled with magic and adventure. She found joy in writing and began her journey at a young age. From short stories to dabbling in the art of songwriting, she found her love of expression quickly grew into something that needed more—leading her back to a life of writing longer stories.
When she’s not writing she’s reading. When she’s not reading, she can be found blasting Taylor Swift on repeat, lounging on the beach, or posting pictures of her cat, Thor, on her Instagram story.
I’m impressed with the way this book was written. You have all characters dealing with complex emotions and situations. So the book is written from more POV than I’ve ever experienced but it adds to the depth of the story.
The characters are top notch.
Everyone is left dealing with how things are after the showdown at the end of book 1. They just aren’t leaning into one another. They’re all trying to deal with their problems on their own.
Will they come together in time to do what they need to do in order to survive what is to come?
Then there’s the way the book ends. Several loose ends that I look forward to seeing how they fit into the next installment.
It does start off slow but it’s reasonable and it builds as the story progresses. As the reader, you just wanna thump people in the head for being dumb, but if I really think about it, I also can relate to not wanting to burden friends that have their own burdens.
Fates Released is the second novel in an exciting fantasy series about magical twin girls fighting for their lives, with the very fate of their world hanging by a thread. Evie and Delainey both have their own trials to face, one in darkness and one in light.
This book is packed with action and the story is so fun to read! I enjoyed getting to know all of the characters further, and seeing where the story took them. Also, the romance!! I can't say too much, but I loved how those relationships have played out so far.
The only thing I'm going to complain about it that now I have to wait to find out what happens! 😆
I was fortunate enough to be given an advanced reader copy of this book. Thank you to L.M. Rhys for that!
At the end of Fates Chosen, everyone is left bruised and scarred in some way. Twin sisters Evie and Delainey are on opposite sides of Fate.
Evie and her friends struggle to overcome the aftermath of the battle with Delainey and the Unspeakables. Each of them has an internal and/or physical struggle in their preparation for what is to come.
Delainey continues her plans to obtain all the power and take the throne as she feels she deserves. But confronted with the man she loved before her self-imposed exile in her search for power, she has to fight her feelings for him even as the darkness within thirsts insatiably for more power.
Will loyalties survive the upcoming battle? And will the world survive the clash between the prophesied twin sisters?
I read this as an ARC read. It started off fairly slowly in the beginning as everyone struggles with the aftermath of Fates Chosen but it then quite quickly picks up. The main characters all get a decent POV which helped to build a fuller picture of the story which was really interesting. I’m already so excited for the next book as the plot twist and subsequent cliff hanger end had me at the edge of my seat!
Brilliant book and already counting down to the next!
Read this if you love: Lovers to enemies to reluctant allies Slow burn Found family Strong FMC Chosen one Unique Magic Magical visions Prophecies Complicated relationships Multiple POV Soul bonded
I loved the multiple POVs within this and I loved the development of the characters and the plot. The story gets deeper, the tensions are high, and everyone is battling their own fight. Will them come together? You’ll have to read for yourself ;). The characters are relatable and going through difficult emotions and difficult situations. I think this may be my favorite book out of the 3 (which includes the Novella). There are so many plot twists, and that cliffhanger! It kept me interested and invested. I’m excited to see where the next book goes!
“Time was an ever-present ghost that haunted you. It lurked in the dark and followed you everywhere you went. It lay in wait, ready to swarm you only to be gone in the blink of an eye. And there was no reversing it.”
Thank you so much to L.M. Rhys for an ARC and this amazing opportunity to read early!
Wellll I’m back to being flabbergasted after reading both books. 10/10. First off started this book off sobbing as I watched everyone mourn the supposed loss of Milo even though I knew he was alive watching them grieve for him killed me and sobbed right along with them. Secondly I guess I can say I have come around to possibly forgiving Delainey especially after what happened at the end of the book and knowing more of what was happening in her head, I’m really hoping in the next book for her redemption arc. 😅 this book was yet again amazing in the series and I was not excepting that ending but two pages before it happened I had an inkling and things started to make sense. This book has loss, love and friendship, action and adventure I loved it all. I cannot wait for the next book I will be on my toes waiting . 😝
Received an E-ARC for an honest review. So after everything that went down in book 1, book 2 just threw a freaking hammer at us. First off, this story is beautifully written and I love all the different pov and just being in everyone's head. As much as I loved Milo in book 1 and I'm glad he's ok, boy was just pissing me off in this one. I know i can't truly blame him because of the shared history, but come on man. But Baz is just chefs kiss so you know what, Evie is definitely with the right man. I had a feeling that Deimos would be released, but of course I was hoping to be wrong. I can't wait to read what happens next and see if Delainey gets the redemption arc she deserves. Absolutely loved it.
I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. Multi POV- there are many complex emotions that everyone is dealing with so the multi POV gives you more insight into that. This was a switch up from the first book so it took me a little bit to adjust to. Story- So promising and very intriguing, I found myself eager to find out what was going to happen. Details-there are a lot of secrets kept from the reader, and things are said to give you suspicions but nothing is confirmed. Ending-Cliffhanger. No resolution and left with many unanswered questions. Isn’t necessarily a bad thing but I feel this is important to know before going in.
Wow, this book was captivating! There were so many twists and turns I couldn't put it down! If you read Fates Chosen and Fates Ruined, you absolutely need to read this one! With the impending chaos happening, there were a lot of changes in the relationship dynamics, and I loved getting to know each of the characters better. Seeing them deal with loss and their different circumstances made them feel more relatable. I can't even describe how amazed and surprised I am about the ending! Absolutely cannot wait for the next one! Thank you for gifting me an ARC copy. All thoughts are my own.
If you loved book one and the novella you will definitely love this one.
I am not giving anything aways I definitely recommend you read this book and experience all the emotions and feelings this book is going to send you though!
I really enjoyed the first two books in this series, and this book gave us all the same wonderful characters, with a broader set of POVs. Following them through their own journeys was a somewhat wild and chaotic ride, and I missed a little bit of the FMCs growth in the first bit of the book given the time lapse readers didn't see. However, we are clearly using this book to build to a riveting third installment.

This was an excellent follow up to Fates Chosen. This one focused on the relationships between all the characters and definitely was more character focused. I was on the edge of my seat towards the end and was left with a cliffhanger that left me wanting more! I can’t wait for the next one! This review was in exchange for and ARC
If you’re a fan of the Throne of Glass series this series is for you.
The complexity of writing multiple character POVs was well done especially navigating through so many layers of emotions and plot line. Loved this book.
And ugh can I just say that ending!! I can’t wait for the next book.
Another must read!! Hooked from the first page! A story filled with good vs evil, plots and twist and a fantastic story of twin sisters, with a splash of romance!
gosh, this book had my heart in all kinds of twists. milo had me crying real tears and feeling real loss. i also felt so deeply for baz and evie, the hopelessnes of it all suffocating and addicting at the same time. i had a hard time putting the book down, pulling it out every chance i had. its beautifully written, the multiple povs arent confusing at all - overall a fantastic read and i cant recommend it enough!
