The life of Jonah Burns has not been an easy one. When a good thing comes along, something always seems to rip it away. Now aged 40, Jonah finds himself broke, and stuck in a dead end job where the grind of day to day life is taking its toll. On a ordinary dull day his job as a delivery driver takes him through Enville. This seemingly quiet, small countryside village captures Jonah's heart, and his luck seems to take a turn for the better. Or so he thought. A shadow haunts Jonah and the resident priest's games add to Jonah's problems. This is a tale about love, betrayal, murder, the unexpected, and so-called Gods. Will Jonah figure out what is really happening or will he continue to be the priest's plaything?
