Here we go again. Jake and Raven break up...but not for long. After putting her up in a ritzy apartment so that he could be rid of her without the guilt, Jake spends his time sulking and regretting his decision. Not to worry though, Club Alpha is now scheming to get the two together again. Apparently, they change their minds about what they want as often as Jake and Raven do.

At this point, I'm just starting to get exhausted with Jake and Raven's antics. I want to shake them and scream in their face "Grow up!". On and off. On and off. It's tedious.

Normally, I love some angst and conflict. However, these two are driving me crazy. The conflicts are highly predictable and underwhelming.

The writing is okay, but be prepared for some editing oversights. The story seems choppy at times. Most importantly, the story leaves me feeling disappointed. I keep waiting for something great to happen, but what we get is mediocre at best.

I'm going to read the next serial in the series, but if it doesn't pick up I'm taking a break from this one. Even I can't handle this much on-again, off-again. Somebody needs to put these two out of misery!

Spies? Secret service agents?
Seriously?!
and there's more... what's next? An alien abduction?
I'm not so thrilled about the next sequel, but since I've read them all so far, I'll give it a chance :D

I'd like to say that this series is very sexy and sexual so far without any actual sex. Raven is a 21yo virgin and I appreciate the fact that the author has kept her this way thus far. As typical with other virginal heroines, I expected this status to change within the first two books. But it hasn't been rushed, allowing me to enjoy the slow build of chemistry between these characters. So thanks for that!

In this chapter, it seems Club Alpha still won't quit tormenting poor Raven. Though she and Jake went their separate ways in the last one, the syndicate wants her to lure him back through subterfuge. They want her to get confidential military data from Jake or bear the consequences. These two can't catch a break. Hopefully she comes clean to him in the next book and trusts him to help her.

Falling in love or lust

Falling in love or lust

the Dept 5 is an excellent story. you have Alpha's, you have blackmail, espionage, hot SEX and love or is it lust? you have a hot rock star whose falling fast for a girl and a plain ordinary girl who says she loves this sexy alpha, but can't seem to ever give him what he needs... THE TRUTH!!! so is it really love or is she risking everything for lust???

Raven is really annoying me, why does she keep lying to him? Why won't she tell him what's going on, the more she holds back the more she causes danger to herself and everyone around her. Now because she hasn't trusted him her parents house has been burned down!

Raven is still challenging me as to whether I want to like her or not. She just seems like a very mixed up person that will allow Jake to do what he likes to her and treat her which ever way that suits but then there's Jake and he provokes the same feelings in me as well. He treats Raven terrible but then won't let another man disrespect her or say awful things about her and is willing to just throw away another concert for her benefit so that he can be with her.
Now there is the added saga of what The Alpha Club is really all about.....very intriguing!!!

Off again, on again. Off for good. Just kidding!

Frustration is definitely sitting at the top of my list of adjectives to describe my feelings. I mean, the whole Club Alpha thing, so strange. C'mon! Leave him alone, oh, you broke up? UGH!

Still, why can't I stop reading this train wreck of a story? I can't even hate it that much and I can't figure out why not.

So, we're thrown back into Jake and Raven.

Seriously?

Seriously?

The first few CA's were good but what the hell is happening to this story? Spies? Come on now. I really hope the author gets the story back on track. It's getting boring.

I give this series 3.5 because imo it should be 2 books not 6. Still trying to figure out Jake. Raven needs to think about other people besides herself but together they are not bad.

Like I've said, I really like the storyline. The writing is good. But personally, I would like to slap the two main characters.
