People said he was emotionless. Cold. But he burned her to the ground every chance he got. Priest Hayes thought he knew everything there was to know about the society of outlaws who ran by their own set of rules, and right now, he’d just taken the gavel. It didn’t feel heavy. It felt like it belonged there all along.
In his hand.
Just like her.
But Luna Nox was the one girl he could never have. He knew that the second he fell for her. Bound by a past they both shared, their souls were connected in a way that no one would ever understand. But love isn’t always what conquers all. Sometimes, it’s the only thing you’ll surrender to.
Luna knew she had limited time to prove herself in a world that she always felt she belonged in, but that never wanted her. She had two choices. Follow her mother’s footsteps by becoming a menacing circus brat, or be led by a secret society that her father was born into. Little did she know she had no choice. The path was already formed, and she was on a one-way road that led directly to the one man she swore she’d never find herself back to.
Priest Hayes.
He took the kingdom…but handed her the sword. This is a tale of heartbreak. A story of two people who defy all odds to find love in a place that most people run from.
I hate that I had to give this 3⭐️ because I love Amo and her books/characters so much but this was a mess. So many plot holes so many things left unfinished. Like is this supposed to be a duet?!? Is there going to be another priest and luna book I just don’t feel like that ending was an ending??!! the timelines were also all over the place? there wasn’t clear distinction something from going back and forth from timelines/flashbacks. honestly the editor should be fired💀 i’m still so confused on so many things so like if you’ve read this book plz dm me
now I will say I LOVEEEE the way she is writing the parents tho in this series and love how involved they were in this book especially they guys. but the kids / story line of the second gen is just kinda a let down so far
I fear of my go-to author for a good read relationship with amo broke after reading this. I gave her a chance after halen and wars book but now I can tell whatever she did with last book wasn’t a one time thing😪
lmfao all the arc reviews are making me look like the Debby downer
Overly complicated already complicated plot. 😵💫😵 I was expecting Darling and Luna fight ⚔️ or some action at one point and though it gets boring while reading continuously🥱 But I liked it anyway. 👍🏻
Going to say what I said about War and His Queen… I HIGHLY recommend reading the previous series in this universe because there is just so much interconnection of characters and background info. These books are such mindfucks in itself that I can’t imagine reading them without the prior knowledge of the other series. But WHEW what a ride. So entertaining and I can’t wait for the other’s stories. 🔥
To be completely honest… I almost DNF this book several times. I was completely confused 50% of the time. 😐 I loved book 1 a lot. This was a lot of back and forth of past and present which got really confusing.
Maybe it was just a me thing and I might go back and try again but I was literally skimming a lot of it 🫣
I quit a long time ago trying to figure out the plot in this woman's books, but idk why Priest intrigued me to give this one a chance. And I hate to admit I was kinda very excited for his book. I was disappointed. My biggest problem is that there's too many side characters and not enough of the main characters. They barely have 3 scenes ALONE, bc Vaden or HALEN would show up. For example the scene where he teaches her to drive is so lovely but it's literally two lines just the two of them before RIVER shows up. It's a huge mess and takes away from the couple. Everyone will get their books we don't need them to continue showing up in the couple's scenes.
I do want to admit I loved Priest's character a lot, he is very main character material, idk about Luna though, bc even though I was prepared that she'd become a favourite, it just fell flat.
This may only be me but I just never get her plot and this book proved me right yet again, it jumps from one scene to the next, from one character to the other, from one pov to a completely different one, from one timezone to the other, thousands of different conversations and thousands of different unrelated characters, descriptions for EVERY character even those who may not even get books. The way the plot is built is so bad, it's very evident and can't be ignored I'm sorry. I genuinely haven't talked to anybody who understood the book we're all very much confused
I didn't like Vaden fully fcking Luna either BUT they had tension and a great bond. And I don't like Evie x Vaden insinuated so imo she shouldn't play into that either, I much more prefer a "mysterious fmc"
Okay I'm done being negative, I LOVED possessive Priest, he stole the show for me. I loved how he tried to fight of his attraction and love many times but failed. We needed much more alone time as a couple they had A LOT of chemistry.
Alsoooo I kinda want to know more about Vaden's love interest, idk why I keep doing this to myself
In true Amo fashion, I was confused for 99% of this book. But to be completely honest, I wouldn’t want it any other way because then it wouldn’t be an Amo Jones book, now would it?
You will have questions the whole time; you will think that questions will be answered, and they will, but then more questions will be added. It’s the Amo Jones experience. AND BOY IS IT A GOOD ONE!!
I LOVE PRIEST AND LUNA SO MUCH!! I don’t want to say too much because it’s best to go in as blind as possible.
Absolutely F’ing Incredible!!! I can’t even put into words how much I love Priest and Luna. I screamed, I laughed, and now I’m left NEEDING MORE. I thought I knew the secrets and in true Amo fashion she told me to sit TF down cause I didn’t see any of it coming. Priest has stolen my heart and soul and I have no desire of wanting them back! If I could give this book a million stars I would ❤️
I thrive in the chaos of Amo Jones. I live for it.
I don’t even know how to put this into words. I’m wrecked, emotionally obliterated, and honestly? No review could ever do justice to the way this book made me feel. Amo is back, and gods, I missed the way she plays with my mind—how she takes everything I think I know and twists it into something even darker, even more ruthless.
The secrets. The betrayals. The nostalgia that hits like a sledgehammer every time the parents are mentioned. This book is raw, brutal, and utterly unpredictable. And that’s exactly why I love it.
“I flipped a coin. One side, Madness. The other, Lunatic.”
Amo never lets you get comfortable. You never know what’s real, what’s a game, and what’s just another layer of mindfuckery.
The new generation is sharper, more ruthless, more willing to burn down the world for their own version of justice. Their dynamic, their vision, the way they navigate the blood-stained legacy of their parents—it’s intoxicating to watch. I adored Lilith, but Luna? She’s something else entirely. And don’t even get me started on River. I need her book yesterday.
Priest is undeniably his father’s son, but every now and then, you catch glimpses of Madison in him. His growth, the way his views shift when it comes to Luna, is everything.
“I’m not reckless, and she’s not messy, but together we’re an apocalyptic promise to all.”
“We look exactly as I imagine we do every time we are together, like a girl who has befriended the monster under her bed.”
“Some girls crave a monster’s love just to feel worthy of his wrath.”
This book isn’t just dark. It’s relentless. It doesn’t just test your limits. It shatters them. And let’s be honest, that’s exactly why we’re here.

I really don’t know what was happening in this book, & to be honest I don’t think the author herself knew what was going on either. This book kinda gave “me when I’m telling a story but every 2 sentences I get distracted and start telling a completely unrelated story”
So I need someone to summarise this book & explain it to me like I’m 5yo because wtf even was all that.
I actually felt dyslexic whilst reading this book im not even joking🧍🏼♀️
This book was super confusing. The flashbacks weren’t outlined clearly so most of the time you didn’t know what part in time in the story you were reading. Priest was really disappointing he seemed like he was written for pure shock value. I really don’t think Madison and Bishop would have been okay with their son just killing everyone he sleeps with. I mean he literally just killed women constantly and forced Luna to watch. And why? It made ZERO sense.
He also has a non-existent personality. Then Nate has a bastard??? Nate would NEVER cheat on Tillie. WTF was this plot?? Priest just literally kept repeating that he needed to kill Luna and then they were married secretly and then there’s this random side plot with Asher?
The sex scene after he killed the chick in the pool was so confusing to follow. Then there was a memory from when they were little and she killed someone thrown in the middle of them fucking. Um why?
Also, Bishop cheated on Madison and had another kid??? The Bishop I read would have never done that either.
I HATED that Priest cheated on her alllll the time with his “dolls.”
When I say you have zero idea wtf is going on I’m serious. There’s a mention of her having D.I.D but then later on it’s not that it’s she has a psychotic twin?
They had barely any scenes together and just the overall plot was written badly. It’s so disappointing because I loved their parents series.
AND THE ENDING? He’s the ministry? She says she’s pregnant and then the book ends? I’m sorry is it supposed to be a duet? Whoever edited the book must have been high if they thought any of this made sense.
Amo Jones used to be my favorite author therefore it pains me to say that this book disappointed me so much. My two favorite books by her are Sicko and in Silence she screams. Lilith, Eli and Kyrin had such a beautiful bond with each other, it was dramatic, emotional and the characters were entertaining.
I was really looking forward to Luna's story and War and his Queen made me excited for Priest too. I waited so long for Priest and his Anarchist and read it immediately after the release.
I was so disappointed. I expected something way darker and more twisted. Luna was way to sweet for being the daughter of Lilith, Eli and Kyrin. I thought there would be a more badass storyline but it fell completely flat. Priest was not dark enough for me. When we saw him in WahQ he was portrayed almost like a villain soon getting all the power but in the end didn't do much in this book. Their chemistry was not so much there. It could've been so good but they were both totally immature.
The twists were underwhelming and literally didn't make sense. Like I don't wont to spoil anything but there was a action at the beginning of the book that made no sense when he said at the end of this book that he knew the secret all along. That made the whole start senseless. Also I sadly believe that Amo Jones used her best plot twist ideas up for her older books and has no unique or shocking storylines anymore.
Also can we talk about the ending? It was so abrupt, sudden and practically a cliffhanger even if you already know that there won't be a second book for them. Why not make a clean cut? I really don't know what to think after that.
I want my favorite author back, I'm so sad. Also she planned to release this back in October but set the date further into the further where her placholder date was. It's okay if an suthor needs more time but then I expect a better story this was just all over the place.
I wanted to give this book 5 stars SO BAD. I love love Luna and Priest. They were the epitome of dark and toxic.
However there were several times throughout the book I was left confused on how we got from one place to another. I’d be reading a paragraph and we were in one place then BAM next paragraph was somewhere else with other characters and I was like wait 👁️ 👄 👁️
And then as far as the twists/ mindfucks go because we all know Amo has great twists and mindfucks, I was left slightly underwhelmed by the ones in this book. Mostly because I was able to guess majority of them 🫢 have I just read so many books I’m able to sniff a lot of twists out now? Maybe 🤷🏼♀️ but there was one in particular that just didn’t make sense to me because Priest said he knew a particular secret the whole time but yet earlier in the book it did not come off that way at all so that just left me confused also.
What I did really love was seeing the parents be more involved in this book than WAHQ because I just they’re the ones that started all this and I just love we get to see them older and still being involved ♥️
I am excited for the remaining books in this series! I can’t wait for River, Stella, and Vaden’s stories 🖤
I received and ARC in exchange for my honest review 🖤
I am so dizzy AGAIN. My fault I guess bc I keep reading Amo. But I had whiplash all the time, She throws everything in, mix it and expects us to follow? I mean I barely knew whose pov was what timeline or what scenario expect on the next paragraph! Could this be a pro? I suppose, if you know how to do it but this NOT the case. (SPOILER) Now my biggest questions, (feel free to answer, maybe i missed it...) WHY DIDN'T SHE REVEAL HOW PRIEST DISCOVER SHE WAS A TWIN? WHY WE DIDN'T GET HOW HE FOUND HER IN AN ABANDONED HOUSE? WHY HE CHEATED WITH HER TWIN? he knew she was the evil twin.. no sense.. WHY WE DIDN'T GET PRIEST TRAINING? everything about her nothing about him... HOW IS HE THE MINISTRY WHEN SHE WAS 7YO AND HE A KID? Pop shows him the tunnels and he calls her wife at 15yo... makes 0 sense... WHY DO ILLEGITIMATE CHILDREN KEEP SHOWING UP? but fathers are loyal? makes no sense. And why all kids have the same trauma?? I mean since midnight mayhem, all books have the SAME CHILD TRAUMA, it's so repetitive.. And the fact that we have more scenes w Nate (outofnowhere) than LilithKyrELi? This book makes 0 sense...fyi the stars are for Madship..
i can't lie, i actually enjoyed this book. it's definitely better than whatever war and halen had going on but i honestly still can't tell where amo is trying to go with this second generation 😭 overall, not bad, it's a typical amo jones book - but the kids are not living up to their parents...i fear we'll never get another madship.
I expect suspense, mystery and plot twists from Amo Jones however I was thoroughly confused this entire story. Several plot holes and no flow to the story. The plot twist was one I have read in previous books and therefore I knew what it was and not surprised. I love the Original Elite Kings and the first book in this next generation series was pretty good. This second book was unfortunately a let down. Hoping the next will be better.
I genuinely don't understand how this has such a high rating on here because I'm reading and have no idea what's happening. The writing is all over the place that it takes me out of the story. Got tired of it real fast when I said "who the fuck is talking now??" "Who???" "What?? What is even happening?"
This is the type of book that requires you to have 7 business days to comprehend what the fuck you just read!
In a true orderly Amo fashion, this was beyond twisted, confusing at times, complicated and full of many twists and turns that you get whiplash.
There was so many elements of surprise when it came to Priest and Luna story that me me craving, highlighting moments of the book that I felt were vital for me to know as I continued on my journey of reading this story.
The enemies to lovers vibe of this book was top tier and I am absolutely obsessed with every moment of this book.
Even to the last percent of this book, the story was still unfolding and you were left wanting more and we need more.
I definitely cannot wait until amo writes the next set of characters in this world! It’s either gonna be Vaden , Halen or Stella.
Every character in this book besides Luna and priest were a huge part of this story, when it came to this book i felt like I was on such a high of being invested in this book that another re read will need to happen very soon to go through that second read through of the madness and go down that rabbit hole again.
So many layers pulled back and it’s such a complex story that you can’t give too much away.
Amo Jones signature writing style is here and did not disappoint. The mindfùck, the twist after twist, the mind bending, it’s all an absolutely insane.
You’ll be so confused in the beginning until all the sudden the puzzle pieces are put together and your mind is just blown. And that’s what happened here. I had my suspicions of what was going on, I even thought it was confirmed, and yet at the end I was still so wrong. 🤣
Priest is complicated. He’s a ruthless, emotionless killer. He ends up taking the gavel to the EKC and takes the seat better than his daddy did.
Luna aka Madness - there’s so much mystery surrounding her. Her character will absolutely confuse you until late in the book. Who the hell is Luna, and who does she really work for? She seems sweet and then she doesn’t. She seems docile and then she’s not.
Priest loves and hates Luna to the point where he wants nothing but to kill her.
"Don't you see the problem? It's not that I don't want you." He steps away from me as if he's realized what he's done. The muscles in his jaw tense. "It's that I can't help that I fucking hate you."
“If you want to feel pain, love him. I'm sorry for what l've done, but more importantly for what l'm going to do. Never be enough.”
This is a very dark, underground, twisted society that is built upon many many secrets.
Really check the trigger warnings because there’s quite a few of them. Ones that even made me feel uncomfy and that’s hard to do.
Overall, I thought the book was brilliant. I love getting longer books from Amo Jones this one definitely did not disappoint! 4.5
in true Amo fashion, this book had me confused 80% of the time. i was super excited to read about priest and luna after seeing them both in book 1 of the series. i really enjoyed their dynamic and the games they played with each other. they worked so good as a couple and i loved seeing both of them fight it so hard and being unable to resist each other. there was definitely a lot of trust and respect that was slowly earned throughout the book which i enjoyed
the timeline & the flashbacks in this one did have me more confused than i normally am but by the end everything finally connected like it always does. the ending in this felt slightly abrupt so im curious if they’re going to have a duet or what’s going to happen when we seen them from other characters pov in the next book!’
This storyline was sooo unique. I genuinely had my jaw drop multiple times. If mindfuck was a book… this would be it. This is one of the darkest books I’ve read and is definitely not for everyone so please keep that in mind. PRIEST. IS. UN-FUCKING-HINGED. And I loved every minute of him. The spice in this book was immaculate and I don’t care if that means I need therapy.
✔️secret society ✔️her mother runs the circus and she has two dads (because her mom thought… why choose?) ✔️he calls her Madness 🤭 ✔️sharing is caring (the triggers literally say “sex with others - meow” LOL) ✔️His 🥵 is ☠️
This would have been a 5 star read for me but the editing was just terrible. I could get over the spelling errors but I legitimately couldn’t figure out if I was confused because of the writing or because of the plot. It was all over the place. It does come together (SO INSANE) but I felt like I needed every brain cell to make it happen.
HOWEVER, if you decide to go into this series: 1. Read the first book first 2. Stick with this book. If you think you misread something… you did not. That IS INDEED what is happening. The way I reread scenes because I was like NO FUCKING WAY THAT JUST HAPPENED. Yes… yes it did.
Lastly, she calls him rabbit… didn’t love that part.
I’m so fucking excited for Vaden!!! A soulless man with a tongue piercing, Jacob’s ladder and two different coloured eyes? Sold.
Fave (non spoiler) quotes:
“If I find you, I’ll either kill or fuck you.”
“I don’t give a shit about girls, or boys, or fucking anyone. I fuck who I want and don’t give a fuck if I wake up to them dead. Because I often did. Very often. Almost always. In fact, Vaden ran statistics. Getting fucked by me leaves you with a two percent chance of survival, and that two percent only exists if he finished you off and not me.”
“Play with her, but she stays on my lap.”
“The weight of his pain is suffocating, but I’d carry it forever if it meant he didn’t have to.”
I could literally write a thesis on all the unhinged things Priest says that had me kicking my feet. So just read it. Okay? Thanks.
I just finished this book and I have to say that surpassed all expectations. Nate and Tiklie were always my number 1….until Priest and Madness!
Seriously, Amo Jones writes twisted, delicious, dark, and mind blowing plot twists. This is why she is one of my favorite Authors. Her writing style is incredibly unique and just bombass amazing!
I can never get enough of her books. Another 5 star read. This is a favorite read this year!
I love Amo Jones and the stories that she writes. They are always dark and twisty and I’m always a little bit lost with the plot until I’m not.
This book I was confused about locations and timelines and who was doing what and what was going on. Some of those questions were answered at the end and I did enjoy the story but my brain felt a bit fried with trying to piece everything together.
Amos words are always so beautifully written. She paints the perfect picture for her readers. I loved this book. This will forever be one ill wish I can read for the first time again.
This review is a rant because I'm so frustrated. Booktagram did me dirty here so bear with me.
The FC was spineless, the MC was a cocky bastard who did not deserve anything that he got and the writing, ugghh....what was she trying to write?????? After every two para, it felt like I skipped 2 chapters.... nothing made sense and soooooooo many plot holes, Oh My God!
If reading previous books of the series was so important why wasn't it mentioned, because nothing, seriously nothing made sense.
The MC was such a pain in the ass, like literally, he almost killed the FC and then he says that he always loved her and did everything to protect her????? Like hello can you hear yourself????
The FC was a spineless woman who was almost killed by the MC and still would die for the asshole. He made her life a living hell, always humiliated her and lusted over another woman all his life and after knowing all this she still went back to him without even a fucking sorry??!?!?!
There was no Love, no Possession and no great plot line. Me giving it 2 stars is generous.
