Rayna's obsession with the human world is at an all-time high. She begs Toraf to fuel her obsession by taking her on a series of human dates--but can Toraf survive what she has in mind?
New York Times Bestselling author of The Syrena Legacy series.
Grew up in a town called Niceville. No, seriously. And yes, everyone from Niceville is generally nice.
Let's see, things about me....My writer's cat is a mini wiener dog named Puckdoo. I can't walk in high heels, but I'm amazing at standing still in them. I'm the only person in Florida without a tan. I stole a car when I was 12 years old and drove across three state lines with it. Yeah. That's about it.
A random short story about Rayna and Toraf going on 'human dates'. Rayna is selfish, she naggs and I dont think I'll re-read this series anytime soon even though overall I liked it. I pretty much lost interest in the characters.
Bueno. Nada sustancial en cuanto a la historia. Estuvo buena en el sentido de conocer un poco más la relación entre Toraf y Rayna, pero la verdad es que ella no termina de caerme bien. En fin, fue corto y rápido de leer.
This was so cute! It was nice to see Rayna and Torah's relationship since we always see Galen and Emma's. Thanks to Cassidy I was able to read this thanks again it was great :].
When I first read the synopsis of this short story, I thought Rayna convince Toraf to allow her to go on human dates with human guys, but I was sooo wrong hahahhaa She convinced Toraf to go to human dates with her. It was really fun to see them try human activities. Even though, Rayna can sometimes (always) act like a spoiled little girl, she does have good intentions. She is just curious to get to know our world; and Toraf is really cute when he complies with everything that Rayna wants to do.
This one is my favorite in the series so far and only because I just love Toraf. But again, he's married to a Pansy Parkinson. I thought they would be more lovey in this one but since it's in Rayna's POV, she says that there are things she would never tell Toraf (like that she likes the way his shirt looks on him or more of her feelings). I just feel like this is unhealthy. You should always build your partner up (and them build you up). I just feel like in some ways this still a one-sided relationship.
I loves the idea of this short story. A look into the human side of the the characters lives without any problems or drama. I love seeing the new experiences for Rayna and Toraf have. However this short was the same as the last in the choppy writing. Each section was more of a diary entry recapping the dates than a fluid story actually taking place.
Wow, Rayna was truly a selfish, manipulative, annoying bitch in here. The story started with Rayna, Torof, Galen, and Emma in the flee market. Rayna saw a pretty ring that she wanted, but a human woman beat her up to it. She almost threw tantrum when she didn't manage to get it for herself. Then, Rayna decided that she wanted to go on a human date, so Emma gave her a few recommendations, two of which she found boring (the movies, the eating out at the restaurant). But when Emma recommended paint-ball, she decided that she liked it, especially after she manipulated Torof so she could win the game. And then she decided she wanted more of this date. So again, she manipulated Torof to go on a bungee jumping with her, knowing that Torof was afraid of height. But he did it anyway because she said that he manipulated her into mating with him without even telling her. Low blow. So he did the bungee jumping after she guilt-tripped him. And Torof still love her anyway.
A sweet little story about Rayna & Toref going on three different kinds of human dates and finding in the end that the best is being alone with each other.
I love seeing everything through Rayna’s alien eyes. It’s better than through a foreigner’s since they at least have a sense of human life.
Quick thoughts: 1) I don’t understand the living situation between them all. It seems like Emma’s at her house, but I don’t think her mom’s there since she’ probably with Grom. And now that Rachel’s gone, the others shouldn’t be living alone in their house without ‘adult’ supervision. They’ll probably make mistakes that’ll bring in the authorities. Hate to say it, but it’d better if the all lived together. With Rayna & Toref as chaperones. Yeah, like that’d work.
So, seeing now that this is a novella, and number 2.6 in the series, I probably shouldn't have read it. I came across it on WattPad and I got drawn in and I couldn't stop reading. It was excellent story telling and definitely read more like a novel than a novella. And even though I haven't read any of the rest of the series, I truly felt like I knew the two main characters by the end. I am very interested in reading the rest of the series now. I'm curious to see some of the things that were referenced in this story, and likely explained in full in previous novels. Great work from the author here, to create such a desire to learn more about this world in this little story. I think you've got a new fan in this reader!
This is a cute little story, though I could tell it wasn't professionally edited. There are a few extra commas and a couple of formatting errors.
I think if I met Rayna in person, I would try to avoid her as much as possible, but reading about her antics is pretty entertaining. Plus, Toraf is stinkin' adorable even if he is kind of a pushover.
Again, not a big fan of Rayna. But it wast bad. It's just that I don't like her that much because of the nagging. But I can say it's worth a read if one like the Syrena series or like Rayna.
