Rate this book

Totally entertaining! It reminds you of the days when you were younger and everything that now seems so little was SO major then. Angel is no, well, angel. This book is far from cliche. It's a breath of fresh air; light, humorous, and original. On a rainy day, this is the book to read.

Opisuje jej interakciu so spolužiakmi, najlepšou kamarátkou a jej rodičmi.

Hlavná hrdinka Angel má iba trinásť rokov, čo so sebou prináša detinské rozhodnutia, riešenie banálnych vecí a podobne.

OH YIPPEEE ! Angel's dad is the devil . The mom is a prayer , not like praying for GOD but praying the dad to stay away . Apparently , she was pouring Lucky Charms out of her bowl and found the tickets that she has been waiting to see ! The only reason why she wants to see the concert is because she likes this boy named Cody and she wants to talk to . When she got the tickets , she thought that her mother got them for her but NOT ! Her dad got her the tickets and her mom hates him and she is 1940000 % sure that she is . Her mom last year ate her Birth Certificate last year , only because she didn't want Angel to know her dad . Let the Journey begin !!!!

This book is a great book for everyone because you can see that once in a while you will realize something that you might not . Angel never knew her father but then it might be the same to you . Then one day he might be out your door steps waiting . You won't know that if you don't look out your doorstep , so maybe you might try to look know .

Definitely a 2.75, almost a 3, but I felt like it was missing something. I wish parts of the book didn't happen and that the characters were more realistic. They had the personality and freedom that high schoolers do. I loved the concept and it was good at the beginning and end of the book. I would have loved it without Courtney. But I know I'll pick up the next book in the series to see if it gets better as she gets older.

I love how Lou is good and bad and wants nothing more than to be a part of Angel's life. The battle between facing who she could be and who she is was interesting. It makes you question your own battle to be good or bad. I wanted more of Angel's mom in the book, but we got lots of Lou and that makes up for it.

This would be considered a guilty pleasure, reading middle school books. If I was younger and in the age range for this book then my rating would've been higher, but I see the flaws and it's stopping me from giving it a higher rating. It was a good book for middle schoolers and the concept was different and well played out throughout the book.

Ini adalah kesalahan Mom. Dia membantu membuatku jadi begini.

Another teenlit dengan sentuhan fantasi. Akhirnya, Angel mendapati kenyataan, that her dad is a devil. Literally. Dan mulailah hidup Angel jungkir balik.

Sebagaimana sebuah novel dengan genre teenlit, it’s a cute book. Yes, she has Gabi, her bestfriend. But it’s not enough. Angel ingin menjadi bagian dari Courtney and the gank, clique paling populer di sekolah itu. And of course, she has this crush to Cole, the cute guy in the school.

Awal buku ini sebenarnya menarik, pas bagian Lou Cipher (yup, from Lucifer, the devil) si ayah Angel tiba-tiba muncul di hidup Angel.

Anyway, the nice thing about this book, adalah penggambarannya yang sangat mudah divisualisasikan., Cara-cara Lou tiba-tiba menampakkan diri bener-bener kebayang pas kita baca. Terutama pas bagian Lou muncul di bola voli. Berpotensi banget ijadikan film remaja gitu deh.
A cute teenlit book with some splashes of fantasy here and there.

Bedeviled / 978-0-448-45111-4

The set-up for this novel is quite cute: main character Angel is going to have a tough enough time in eight grade without having to deal with the realization that her father is the literal devil, and having her mom trying to rectify the situation with her New Age philosophies and healing stones isn't going to help matters any.

For the most part, this novel delivers on the cute premise - the dialogue and characters are well-written, and the overall feel of eight grade middle school (and the temptations and dangers therein) is well captured. For a 200+ page novel, though, the story is surprisingly brief - at 45 chapters, that's a lot of white space and page breaks - and veteran readers will probably rip through this novel in a matter of hours.

And after a promising beginning with such a delicious premise, the actual conflict of the novel simmers back down into your standard romance-crushing and popularity wars (with a blonde Libby / Alpha Queen, of course), with the supernatural elements being largely confined to Lou (i.e., Lucifer) popping in from time to time on the faces of volleyballs, causing Angel to hiss at him and getting her strange looks from her classmates - this is repeated something like seven times, and after awhile it loses its sting as a literary device.

Younger readers may enjoy reading about Angel's adventures in middle school, but older readers may be a little off-put by the realization that most of Angel's problems are predictably of her own making - at least until the end when she grows up a little and learns the value of clear communication - but overall this is a cute novel and a pleasant afternoon read. It will be interesting to see where the author goes from here and whether the interesting premise gets a little more time devoted to it in the next books rather than serve as a literary device behind the usual middle school angst plots.

If you want a classic middle school popularity story with a funky paranormal twist, consider Shani Petroff’s debut book. It’s got the social angst that will appeal to middle school girls, with just enough crossover appeal that will sing for older readers.

I enjoyed Shani Petroff’s take on the Devil, making him into a—dare I say it?—likable, sympathetic character. (I mean, the guy wants to be called Lou. Is that non-Satanic enough for you?) DADDY’S LITTLE ANGEL convincingly shows the limitations of external influences on one’s social standing in school without sounding preachy. While older readers might sigh in exasperation at Angel’s retrospectively painful desire for popularity, younger readers will easily sympathize with Angel’s emotions and behavior in a Judy Blume-like way.

The one aspect of this book that consistently disconcerted me, however, was how I thought that DADDY’S LITTLE ANGEL was written in a way more similar to YA than MG books, when the characters and circumstances of the book clearly lean towards the MG crowd. Angel’s desires and actions are definitely those of a 13-year-old’s, but the way she narrated her story made her more reminiscent of an older teen. While this discrepancy jarred my belief of her as a genuine middle schooler, the more mature tone in narration might be the key to drawing in older readers.

Overall, DADDY’S LITTLE ANGEL is a cute paranormal read. MG readers can read it alongside Judy Blume, while older readers looking for a light paranormal read won’t do wrong in picking this one up. I’m definitely curious as to what happens next in the sequel, BEDEVILED: THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY DRESS!

Mungkin aku sudah terlalu dewasa untuk membaca novel teenlit (?) haha, jadi aku nggak berharap terlalu banyak waktu lihat sampulnya. Kupikir bakal gitu-gitu aja dan klise. Ternyata nggak seburuk itu.

Ceritanya cepat, ringan, cukup alami, dan kompleks, pas. Aku hanya membutuhkan waktu sekitar 4 jam untuk menyelesaikannya.
Aku dibuat penasaran dan tegang tiap kali Angel harus membuat keputusan seperti, "Oh, jangan, jangan. Ya, begitu, bagus. Oooh tidaak!"

I just finished reading Daddy's Little Angel by Shani Petroff. It was a pretty decent book. It was about a girl named Angel. She figured out that her dad is the devil. She doesn't think its the greatest thing in the world, but it does make her more popular. She got the popular kids to notice her. Having a devil as a dad isn't all that great for her. He comes out of nowhere and make her look like she is talking to herself. Her crush, Cole might think she is weird. On the other hand, the devil, Lou has helped her get to be noticed. No mater how many times Angel tells her dad to leave her alone, he always come back and try to resolve things with her.
I think that Angel shouldn't be so mad at his dad. He was the one that made Angel more noticeable. The most popular girl in the school, Courtney even asked her to eat with her and her friends. She has to choose with either her best friends, Gabi or the most popular girls.

This book Daddy's Little Angel is an amazing book. This book explains the life of a girl who's father is the devil. That must be rough but with a mother putting in your mind that your own father is dead must be even rougher. This girl had a birthday and her favorite band was coming to her city to perform. She wanted the tickets so badly and during her breakfast she poured the tickets out of the cereal box. She thought they came from her mom but the letter said love dad. She asked her mom if her father was dead and she kept telling her yes until she finally thought maybe he could be alive.

This book will have you twisting emotions. You can kinda of understand this type of confilct if you have been through it like me. This book is absolutely amazing and there are no other words for me to describe it so READ THIS BOOK!

Angel's 13th birthday would be perfrect if she just got tickets to her favorite band's local performance. But alas, they are sold out so fast her mom can't buy any. But wait!. 2 tickets mysteriously appear in her cereal box. When Angel's mom freaks out Angel is confused. Isn't this a joke played by the BEST MOM EVER? Uh, no. It is a gift from her supposedly dead father. Shock, right? Dad is not dead! Sort of. Shock , Dad is the Devil. That's right. Capital D. Now everything Angel has wanted is at her fingertips, will she give in to temptation?

I really enjoyed this fun tween book. Angel and her friend Gabi are likeable characters and the mean girls are straight out of everyone's school nightmares. There is also the beginning of a middle school romance. I will be checking back to see how Angel is doing.

The most what i like about books are the kind of lessons that the author is trying teach the reader and this book has done well explaining her lesson through the book. The lesson of the book was that their is no immortality, but there is always mortality, how making decisions on your own can also affect people around you and how to accept reality.

The thing that i don't like about this book is that the chapters are really short, and to add more fuel to the fire. This book is really slow at getting to the point. Like in in the beginning, the part where Petroff tries to explain the part that angel actually has dad. it took a while for Petroff to introduce the new character, but even if it was slow Petroff really gave good at describing what type pf physical appearance he has. Overall this book was an O.K. book. I can't wait to read the next book.

On her 13th birthday, Angel discovers the secret that her mom's been keeping from her: her dad is literally the devil - and he wants to be involved in her life. Angel struggles with this revelation, loving the perks that her dad's job nets for her (free concert tickets, for example) but unsure how her dad's influence is changing the rest of her life.

The premise of this book is really cute, and although it's a tad predictable at times, I can see tweens really getting into this. Angel's problems, other than her dad being the devil, are quite believable, and I liked how she wants to navigate her problems in life without supernatural interference because she wants to know that she is responsible for what's going on and not someone else's influence.

I'll give this book a TWO thumbs up! SO much drama and excitements between a angle and a devil.. (You have to read it to understand!) I keep getting drawn into this book. COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN! This book explains the life of a girl that has a father who's literally the devil. Her mother has been lying that her father was died. She doesn't want her to runaway to the underworld. This girl had a birthday and her favorite band was coming to her city to perform. She wanted the tickets so badly and during her breakfast, she poured the tickets out of the cereal box. She thought they came from her mom but the letter said love dad. So since she's growing up,the father wants to be in her life. He would show himself and does magic to get whatever she wants.
