DS Jack Townsend #3
No Judge, No Jury
The third chilling book in the critically acclaimed DS Jack Townsend series...
The sentence is death...
A beloved doctor and loving family man is abducted, taken out to a remote farm in Buckinghamshire and then executed. DS Jack Townsend and the rest of the Specialist Crimes Unit are assigned the case.
But it is only the beginning.
A video surfaces within hours, where a masked man dubbed 'The Executioner', promises to release the footage of the murder for the world to see. With a chilling warning that this is all in the name of justice, DS Townsend and the SCU face a race against time to track the killer before the video surfaces.
But there is something bigger at play, and that becomes all too apparent, when an elderly woman is abducted in a car park and a similar warning is sent out. DS Townsend and his team soon realise they are not just hunting a serial killer.
They are hunting an executioner.
NO JUDGE, NO JURY is the third instalment in the critically acclaimed DS Jack Townsend series, and is a must read for fans of LJ Ross, Angela Marsons and JD Kirk.

Good book but it helps if you read the series regarding DS Townsend in order. Kept you gripped regarding the serial killer until the end. Definitely worth reading if you are into crime/ detective series.

Really enjoyed these books! Townsend reminds me a lot of Milo from the Johnathan Kellerman Alex Delaware series, which I also enjoyed. The character relationships in this series have grown so much, and I really have even grown to like Lowe 😂 I thought i had this one figured out a few times, but i was wrong. At about 70%, it finally clicked who i thought it was, and I was finally right. I thought the serial killer in this one had a neat story. As with the others, there's always a thought process for justice coming from the killer, which is intriguing as well. I've seen the next installment advertised on his Facebook page, so I'm excited about it!

This is the third in the Jack Townsend series. Like the first two, the characters are developing and well drawn and the plot moves along at a fair rate. The action sequences are exciting. I realised who the killer was as soon as the link between the victims was revealed and that didn’t bother me at all. I was bothered by the fact the team seemed to carry on investigating obvious dead ends, instead of looking more closely at possible victims from the link. That made no sense to me considering how little time was left. For that r3eaqson, I would make this title my least favourite from the three.
Please clean up the editing! It does jar when the reader comes across mistakes.

Excellent third installment!!!!
The Jack’s Townsend series keeps getting better and better! I knew I had the murderer tagged before halfway in the book and boy was I wrong! Robert Enright’s writing style keeps you engaged with every page turn! Can’t wait for Jack Townsend number four!! But I hear he’s got an another Sam Pope book dropping before then so I get my fix of his other series!!!

The Best Yet!
A great thrill ride from beginning to end. A few errors, one of which I found highly annoying as not sure if it's supposed to be Holloway or Halliday now! You'll have to read for yourselves to find that little treasure.
A really well-woven thriller with in-depth characters and a tight plot. The best yet and looking forward to the next book in the DI Townsend series.
PS You can only go 'up' Cock Lane from the London Road😅 Quicker to use Hammersley Lane🤭

I love this series. I feel like the main characters all have a real depth to them and we get to know them more as the series goes on. The stories are gripping and well written. My only slight gripe is the poor editing in places; I’ve picked up on more errors in these books than I have in most other books I’ve read.
4.5 stars rounded up, simply for the occasional poor editing.

Have thoroughly enjoyed this series and the characters.who have become much more real with each book.
This 3rd police procedural was a good plot line , although I had worked out the motive early on and the various relationships both professional and personal added to my reading.
Vigilante justice corrupted police and serial killing make a potent plot.
Highly recommended.

Interesting concept but……….
Poorly written, repetitive, in parts downright mushy. I get police work is a tough job but the endless angst of the characters became boring. 60 chapters, 30 of which were probably pure waffle. And the proofreading could have been better.
I won’t be bothering with another by this author

great plot
Insipid writing. Ssoooo tired of king’s self doubts. Enough already with Townsend’s guilt. We get it. Enough already with Hannon’s crisis of confidence. We get it. It’s all redundant filler. It’s like a lousy AI mimic of the style of the Sam Pope series

Brilliant read from Mr Enright as always ,not for the faint hearted .
Who was behind the mask and committing these murders ?
Very good investigating skill from all the team ,even Lowe seems to have mellowed and become more intergrated with his co workers .

Really enjoyed the intrigue, although a little grisly in parts! Well done! Looking forward to the plot of the final book, book 4. The author has left us hanging at the end of this book not knowing who was watching him.

Great characters
Warts and all. Love the fact that it is set locally to me. Engaging epic stories always carrying you along to the end that can’t come fast enough but then waiting for the next book is torture. Write faster Robert

No judge, no jury
Don't you hate it when a really really exciting book comes to and end. I think this is the best Townsend so far.
