Filled with angst and heart wrenching emotion, Need You Now is a truly unforgettable second chance love story. Molly O'Keefe blends fantastic writing with an emotionally compelling storyline in this tale of sacrifice, strength and unwavering love.

"We'd been a tragedy waiting to happen from the moment we met and it hadn't stopped me from falling deep in love with her."

I am a huge fan of The Debt series, and although this book is a standalone, it continues the story of the five teenagers whose lives were forever altered on one fateful night. This author always writes such incredible characters and Rosa and Marco were no exception. Forced to make tough decisions at a young age, these two had so much stacked against them. Rosa's sacrifice showed her true character, and it was heartbreaking to read about everything she endured. She was such a great combination of softness and strength. Marco was pure perfection and I loved everything about him. His devotion to his daughter was amazing, but I especially appreciated his loyalty and faithfulness to Rosa throughout everything they went through.

"You make me wild and crazy. You make me want so much. You make me want everything."

O'Keefe writes in a way that pulls in the reader, capturing the emotions of her characters and bringing them to life through her words. The heartbreak, the anger, the regret- every feeling the characters felt was masterfully written. The intimate scenes were well done and reflected the unbreakable bond between Rosa and Marco. Their every interaction sizzled with heat even through the pain of their pasts and the hurdles that stood between them in the present.

"All the pain fell away and it was just us. Marco and me and the desire so pure it kept changing the course of both our lives."

Need You Now was perfectly paced and flowed seamlessly. The back and forth between the past and the present was well written and kept me hooked onto every word. I am positively giddy with excitement after reading that chapter from Bates' POV, and hope that we will be getting his story soon. This was a stellar second chance romance and I cannot wait to read more from Molly O'Keefe.

Rosa and Marco, well, they broke my heart. They broke it when they were teenagers; they broke it when they were young adults trying to make life work; they broke it as the parents they are, trying to do what is best for their daughter.

Marco wants Rosa, only Rosa, and has since he first laid eyes on her in high school. He had her, but he lost her. He had her again for a brief shining moment, and then he lost her for years. He thought he’d have her again, but she rejected him, and then turned away from him at every possible moment. He aches he wants her so much, and that makes him angry and confused

Rosa, oh, as Rosa’s story unfolds, and unfolds, and unfolds, you cry for her. She went through so much and kept trying to do right, but life kept tracking her down. She is single-minded in her devotion, and doesn’t consider anything else. She hurts, is hurts, does hurt, but for her, it is for the best of Marco and their daughter. Then the full truth comes out, and you crack right there with her. That crack, that moment, sets things in motion.

Marco and Rosa, they broke my heart, but they made it, finally. They had the rockiest of paths, and it cut them and hurt them, but the love they felt for each other, it held them until they could get it all together again. They made it in the end, but their scars will touch your soul as much as it formed theirs. A brilliant story with a woman who did everything right, and the man who wouldn’t let her forget how loved she truly was!

What do you want?” she asked, like she honestly didn’t know.
“What I’ve always wanted. What I’ll want for the rest of my life,” I told her with the same intensity I’d used to say my vows four years ago. “You.”

Man, but Molly O'Keefe know how to serve up some feels. This was another heartfelt standalone in the same world as The Debt series If you've read and remember the pregnant teenager that the group met in their foster home, than you're already familiar with the heroine. And if you haven't read that series yet (I highly recommend it), no worries, because this is definitely written as a standalone. But if you're like me and binge read that series and salivating for more Bates, this will definitely deliver. Because OMG Bates!!! But I digress. Let's focus on the story here.
Once upon a time she’d send a glance my way and I knew exactly what she wanted for lunch. Or that she didn’t like the person she was talking to. I could read her feelings in the set of her jaw. Yeah. Now? Not so much. She wasn’t a mystery, she was a stone wall.

Marco and Rosa's story is certainly a tearjerker. My heart broke for Rosa and everything that she goes through. This woman is a survivor and I loved her endearing combination of strength and vulnerability. Rosa made the necessary sacrifice to protect the love of her life and future baby by risking everything and going to jail. This is a woman that has always had all the odds stacked against her. A violent neo-nazi father and brother that threaten everything she loves and forcing her into a life of petty crime that she can't escape. Pregnant at 16 and living in foster care with a terrible man and his wife. Rosa makes the choice to sacrifice her freedom in order for Marco to get custody of their baby and after serving a four year sentence the only thing cemented in her mind is that she doesn't deserve anything good in life, especially not Marco and their beautiful daughter. Not when her family still threaten everything.

Marco is so angry with Rosa at first. He doesn't understand why she stayed away all this time since getting out. But soon the resentment turns into determination and he wants nothing more than his wife back.

I loved the angsty and highly emotional thread between these two. I liked the the story is clearly broken up in past and present and doesn't have the usual flashback song and dance. It was more impactful this way. I also loved Marco's quiet intensity and the way he fights for Rosa and her self-sacrificing.

This was such a satisfying romance with plenty of feels and a dash of sizzle. Of course I was salving for more Bates and I'm damn near ravenous after the additional peek we get of him here. If I don't get his book next, I'm pretty sure I'll be shaking in a dark corner somewhere.

NEED YOU NOW EXCERPT!

After four long years, I took her in like a man dying of thirst in the desert. Goddamn it, Rosa, I thought. Goddamn it. She was gorgeous, all tawny curves and long legs. That sweet belly that pushed out under the vest that could barely contain her breasts, and the short pants that clung to her hips, and that beautiful place between her legs.
She was the same in so many ways and somehow more than she’d been. All that promise realized.
And I didn’t even try to hide my rage.
Or my lust.
“Marco—” I saw her lips move but I couldn’t hear her voice. Too quiet in this loud place.
“How much?” I snapped at her.
“For what? A drink—”
“A dance.”
Her face went white and then red. “You’re a stripper, right?” I asked. “How much for a dance?”
“I don’t—”
“Want to dance for me?” I snapped, stepping closer, close enough I wasn’t yelling. Close enough I could hear the ragged edge of her breaths. Close enough I could smell her. I could see the slow roll of a bead of sweat across the slope of her breast and I was assaulted by the memory of her body against mine. It hurt, that memory.
And infuriated me.
“Guess what? I don’t care. For once I don’t care what you want. I want a dance.”

That was amazing.

I used to read this author when she wrote Harlequin Super Romance and while I didn't always like her storylines her talent was definitely there. This book had so many facets and it gave me all the feels. Marco and Rosa were young lovers torn apartment by her evil family. She went to jail for four years for stealing a car and then she stayed away for six !I the because of threats her family made against the boy she loved and their daughter that she had in prison . They were part of an Aryan brotherhood and were just vile men. I
The story of her time at least the juvenile detention house was so sad and I didn't realize that there was another series prior to this. I am not sure I can read them but I may. This book really was good and made me cry. They really loved each other and I really felt it too. Sometimes I would get so mad at her for just not telling him why she had to stay away and letting him th I k the worst of her. It irritated me.
Perfect ending but a semi cliff hanger because now I need go know what happened to Bates and Carissa. But the epilogue was really really good. And I am a sucker for wonderful epilogues.

Need You Now is Molly O'Keefe 's newest stand-alone novel! The blurb sums up the story pretty well, but it leaves some of the dark elements of the story out, in order for the reader to find them and understand the situation our characters went through better. The genre of the book is second-chance romance, with a child been involved.

In case you are wondering (and I am sure many of you are), both characters were celibate during their separation. Rosa didn't have many opportunities considering that she spent almost all the time they were apart in prison, but Marco was out and he didn't do something with another woman.

I was prepared for an emotional book and I had tissues close, but I didn't even reached the point of tears. I was rooting for Rosa to have her family back, but that was it. It took me a while to understand her motives and her reasoning for staying away when she wanted to be with her family and she goes to explain in detail her thoughts and emotions late into the story.

I don't think that we needed so many details about the past. Some chapters are dedicated to showing us what happened then and the rest of the book is showing us what's happening in the present. I wanted to see more of Rosa and her daughter together. She missed so much time with her and I wanted to see the two of them enjoying their lives. I feel like we need a novella to complete the story.

The characters from The Debt Series are also appearing in this story. It's not much, Rosa's past was tied to them and their appearance was justified and I guess if you have read the series, also welcome. Everything we need to know about them is explained, so the readers who are not familiar with the other series won't be confused or feel left out.

Overall, I liked the book. It was interesting and it kept me engrossed. While I was writing this review, I felt like I the words were indicating that I should lower my rating, but honestly, I don't believe that the book deserves less than 4 stars from me.

description

It was too short for me to fully connect to the characters. Besides the one flashback chapter, the main characters aren't reunited until almost halfway down the story. If a second-chance romance is going to work, especially if the book is short, then I need the couple to be reunited about quarter into the story. The way they acted didn't really make sense to me, and it wasn't very believable. I didn't believe in their love and wasn't really rooting for them. Rosa is definitely trying to make the best out of her horrible situation, but I think she could've handled some things much better. The added suspense and mystery to the story wasn't incorporated that well into the story. It felt weird and out of place from the rest of the story. I just couldn't get into this story and didn't feel a connection to the characters and that is why I rated this book the way I did. I was able to finish it because I wanted to see if it would get better, but I unfortunately didn't get what I was looking for. I would've rated this book higher a couple of years ago, but nowadays this isn't the type of story that can satisfy me anymore.

This was such a fantastic story. So emotional and full of feeling. This was probably the only second chance love story that I’ve ever really enjoyed. The writing was so good and so was the plot. I can’t get over what an amazing H Marco was. And Rosa is so strong and persevered through so much. Their love for each other was everything and their story was perfection.

I love a touching, emotional romance that you feel deep in your soul, but they rarely make me cry. This story though – good golly, Miss Molly, Rosa ruined me! She held my heart in her hands, from the very beginning with her time in a vile foster home and her horrible father and brother, and all the way through to the end of the book. She's strong and smart and determined, but the deck is stacked against her, and it’s no wonder she’s waiting for the other shoe to drop.

In an effort to avoid spoilers, I won’t give you a synopsis, but I have to tell you more about these amazing characters! Rosa had a really rough childhood, and the one bright light in a bleak existence was Marco, until circumstances separated them. Rosa is knocked down time and time again, and somehow she gets back up to keep on fighting, every single time. Marco has a lot of responsibility placed upon him when he's hardly more than a kid himself, but he works diligently to make a better life for his family and he never gives up on Rosa. Even after four years without her, Marco has faith that his family will one day be whole.

If you like a book with vivid, complex, realistic, endearing characters, you’ll find them here. Rosa and Marco will make you feel everything, as if you’re experiencing it yourself, and they’ll own your heart throughout their journey to forever. Their story is heartfelt, poignant and angsty, their struggles are authentic and relatable, and you’ll be cheering for them the whole way through. You’ll fall hard for Rosa, Marco and little Arielle, and they’ll leave you wanting more even as you finish the book with a full heart and a happy sigh. Run to the 1-Click button so you can start experiencing this heartfelt, satisfying, phenomenal read today!

*I read an early edition of this book freely and voluntarily, having made no commitment to provide feedback and receiving no compensation of any kind from any source.

I’ve long been a fan of Molly O’Keefe’s passionate and atmospheric writing. The unique bond that ties her characters and moody edge to her stories compel me to keep reading whatever she decides to write.

Need You Now is a beautifully twisted tale of sacrifice and redemption and the lengthens one will go to for love. Torn apart by all that is unjust, Rosa & Macro battled to find their way back to one another with a journey that was both tragic & tense, but also so incredibly sweet. It’s a story that entangled me from its very first page and kept me gripped me until it’s last.

REVIEW:NEED YOU NOW is the fourth instalment in Molly O'keefe's contemporary, new adult THE DEBT erotic, romance series focusing on a group of former teens thrown together in the foster care/juvenile system of San Francisco,California-Tommy, Beth, Simon, Rosa and Carissa. This is Rosa and Marco's second chance story line.

Told from three first person points of view (Marco, Rosa, Bates) using present day and memories from the past, NEED YOU NOW follows the rebuilding relationship between waitress Rosa, and single father Marco. Approximately four years earlier, while in the foster care system, horrific acts of violence are perpetrated on five young souls-Tommy, Beth, Simon, Rosa and Carissa- who will be beaten and broken for any number of offenses deemed inappropriate or wrong. These five ‘young offenders’ destroyed by a sexually and physically abusive foster family, will discover that freedom came at a cost- all debts must be repaid; anytime, anywhere, without question or fail.

Rosa and Marco were in love but life for Rosa and the others was a nightmare in the foster care system. Raised by an abusive and racist father, Rosa landed in the system, only to face more abuse as time went on. Falling in love with Marco meant a chance at happiness but a pregnant Rosa would take matters into her own hands when the attacks against her 'foster siblings' dealt its final blow. On the run, having no idea about the death and destruction back home, Rosa would steal a car, ensuring the man she loved, would get custody of their new born daughter. Fast forward four years wherein Rosa has been released from prison, but struggles to reintegrate with the man that she loved, and the daughter she never knew. What ensues is the rebuilding romance and relationship between Marco and Rosa, and the potential fall-out as the man who holds the IOUs comes looking to help our story line heroine.

Rosa never knew what happened the night she decided to make her move. Having stolen the keys to free her friends, Rosa would walk away only to find herself in prison for stealing a car. While her friends would discover their freedom came at a cost, Rosa never knew freedom, just the loss of her daughter and friends. Rosa had promised Marco she would come looking for them upon her release but trouble back home with her brother and father, meant Rosa was unable to face the people she loved without brining danger and death to their front door. Marco had never stopped loving the mother of his child but Rosa refused to move back into their lives. Hoping against odds that Rosa wanted to be part of their lives, Marco goes in search of Rosa, offering a second chance.

All of the Rosa's foster care siblings play secondary and supporting roles. The man who holds the 'debts' against the former friends makes Rosa an offer but Rosa isn't willing to sell her soul for a few thousand dollars, a soul that was already damaged beyond repair.

NEED YOU NOW is a story of betrayal, vengeance, and abuse; of second chances and retribution; of family, friendship and love. A little darker than the previous instalments NEED YOU NOW continues to focus on the hellish life of five friends whose second chances come at a cost. The premise is edgy and raw; the characters are broken, colourful and determined; the romance struggles in the face of desperation, guilt and love.

In many ways, this gritty and emotional second chance romance is classic Molly O’Keefe. Rosa and Marco have been separated for the last 4+ years while she was incarcerated. Now she’s out but she’s stayed away from Marco and their daughter, somewhat for their protection but mostly for hers. This means they do spend much of the book apart but it is building toward their reconciliation. They had such great chemistry and I really enjoyed seeing them come back to each other, especially Rosa getting to be with her daughter at last.

However, there’s one aspect that really impacted my enjoyment. Both MCs are mixed race and Rosa’s father and half-brothers are in a white supremacist group who continue to harass her and tried to beat up Marco in the past. This is on top of including racial slurs. That is A Choice for a white author to make and not a good one.

The resolution for that obstacle was very obvious. Hopefully now that that’s behind them, Marco can start working on his anger issues. I was glad to see Rosa started therapy. They’ve got a lot to figure out after all she endured.

Characters: Marco is a 23 year old Ecuadorian-Italian American engineering major and single father. Rosa is a 21 year old mixed race (Mexican and white) waitress and formerly incarcerated person. They have a 4 year old daughter named Ariella. This is set in San Francisco.

Content notes: PTSD, past postpartum depression (put on psych watch), physical and emotional abuse by FMC’s father, FMC’s father carves swastika into her hand (she burns it off in prison), racism, racial slurs, FMC’s father and half-brother are in a white supremacist group, physical assault, slut-shaming, misogyny (secondary characters), sex work stigma, past incarceration for 4 years (gave birth in prison and baby went to MMC after), parole, stealing and grand theft auto (FMC’s family business), past teen pregnancy (dad kicked her out), past foster care and physical and emotional abuse, past child sexual abuse (secondary characters), past murder of abusive foster father by secondary characters (pinned on abusive foster mother, who was institutionalized), food deprivation (secondary character), past death of FMC's mother, sober secondary character, on page sex, spanking, orgasm control, alcohol, gendered pejoratives, gender essentialist language, ableist language, mention of inmate who attempted suicide

I'm not sure I'll ever truly get enough of the St. Joke's crew. Each book emotionally-charged with the right amount of angst and hope. With Need You Now, we get the mysterious Rosa's story. The girl who single-handedly put in motion the means of escape from the evil Pastor and his wife who made the lives of Simon, Tommy, Beth, Carissa and Rosa a living hell. And like all her former 'classmates', I was just as curious as to what her life looked like now and if she found some semblance of happy after all the sad each had to endure.

Wow. Never did I expect to find myself falling hard for this brazen, selfless and brave soul. Rosa is one to be admired as she took her punishment for a deed she deemed very necessary all those years ago, and has stopped at nothing to protect those she left behind. And I don't mean the St. Joke's crew. Who knew she had the love of her life waiting for her with the baby girl who meant everything?! All of this one heck of a surprise as we watch Rosa do her best to stay in the shadows and love her Marco and Ariella from afar, keeping them safe from the vermin that is her father and brother.

Bates, once again, shows his face as the mystery man tied to all things St. Joke's, this time with a bit of different kind of proposition for Rosa, since she helped free everyone that fateful night. His intrusion into her life turns everything upside down but I was beyond hopeful it would also mean she could finally be back with her loves.

The back and forth between Rosa and Marco is at the center of this story and it was incredibly heartbreaking as each of their encounters just fueled more hurt between them. Bittersweet kind of reunions that left my heart obliterated right along with theirs. Some might say Rosa is being too cautious but her senses are always on high alert as her vile brother and father always seem to come out of hiding at the most crucial of moments. And there was no way she'd ever put Marco and Ariella in harm's way. A forever kind of dilemma that she always handled the best she knew how.

With each of these books involving the St. Joke's group, I walk away feeling a bit lighter but still have those gnawing suspicions about this Bates character and just what his story is wrt to his own experiences at the hands of the Pastor. And with Carissa now working for him, I am all kinds of curious about their connection and what it all truly means. The next book is Bates's and I have to say I am cautiously optimistic I will finally get the answers I have been looking for. I'm sure Simon et al. will be right there with me.

Molly O'Keefe has created a world that I have loved getting lost in and Need You Now just might be the most heartbreaking of them all. But she manages to give these survivors the hope they need to find a new lease on life and it's been a pleasure being privy to those stellar words and superb storytelling. 5 solid stars all the way!

I’ve been thinking about this story for the last couple of days and the more I think about what I read, the more torn I become on how to rate it or review it.

I love Molly’s work. I honest to God jump for joy every time one of her books goes live. I’ve read just about every type of romance from her. She’s multi-talented. She can write everything and anything and it is glorious. But not this time.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. This is my first book read by Molly O'Keefe and I can't wait to read more from Molly.
This book Need you now is a second chance love story between Marco and Rosa, two people who have a daughter together.
Rosa had a rough life with her family and they didn't love her, they just used her. She meets Marco, a beautiful boy and she fell in love with him. Marco becomes her love, her home, and her safe place. She was forced to commit a felony by her family and she was caught and sent to foster care. She was pregnant and she sacrifices her freedom for Marco and her unborn baby. She gave her baby a chance to normal life and a family and Marco gave him the chance to see his daughter growing up.
Marco was a teenager when he fell in love with Rosa and he never stopped loving her. For him, Rosa was the one. Marco always was there for Rosa and he becomes a wonderful father for their daughter.
I love Marco because he was faithful to Rosa and he loved her through it all.
Their second chance began when Rosa got out of prison and Marco sees her for the first time after a long time. Marco never gave up on Rosa and the possibility to be a family.
I was so happy for Rosa that she always had a Marco. They deserve to be happy and together because they suffered enough.

So much emotion and angst surrounds Marco and Rosa's story. It pulled on my heartstrings the entire book. Nobody deserves a happy ending more than these two. Rosa was dealt a crap life and hoped to give her daughter more by staying away. Marco never gave up on them being a family and isn't going to let Rosa walk out of their life. Watching them find their way back to each other...😍

I haven't read the other books in this series but definitely plan to!

Oh, the feels, there are so many feels in this one! If you read The Debt series, the pregnant teenager, Rosa, this is her but this is totally standalone (but I highly recommend going back and grabbing The Debt series and binge reading it). My heart broke for Rosa and how she gave up everything just to survive and for Marco trying to survive as a single dad. All he wanted was his wife back and he would do anything to get her... I highly recommend this one!

I love the intensity of Molly O’Keefe’s writing, and was really excited to dive into this one – a dramatic, sexy, heartfelt second chance romance between a still-very-much-in-love couple torn apart in unimaginable circumstances.

“I kept this place for you inside me … Every day. Every night.”

This book is a spin-off from The Debt series. I haven’t read those books, didn’t even know that they existed, or that this book was connected to it before I started, but I was quickly sucked into this world, the characters and their situation, which forms a major life moment for our heroine, Rosa. Rosa is 16, pregnant and living in a group home with four other foster kids (characters of The Debt series) who are subjected to hellish abuse. Rosa is the daughter of criminals and has only two goals – survive her situation and give birth to a healthy baby, and make sure her beloved boyfriend, Marco, gets custody of their little girl instead of her neo-nazi father. She manages to do just that, sacrificing her own freedom for the two people that she loves the most.

Four years later and Rosa is out of prison. She is justifiably terrified that her family continues to pose a threat to her daughter, so she intentionally keeps her distance. But there’s only one problem… Marco knows that she’s out, and he’s not prepared to watch his wife walk away again.

“What do you want?” she asked, like she honestly didn’t know.
“What I’ve always wanted. What I’ll want for the rest of my life,” I told her with the same intensity I’d used to say my vows four years ago. “You.”

Oh Marco… what a deliciously devoted hero! He is initially, understandably, furious that Rosa is choosing to stay away, but when he comes to understand the impossible situation she is in, he fights for her, desperate to have her back in his life, and he is absolutely beautiful!

“I saved your place, Rosa,” he whispered, his arms coming around me and lifting me so I was not carrying all my burdens alone. “We’ve just been waiting for you to come back to us.”

There is some drama as Marco and Rosa fight for their future, and there are cameos from The Debt characters (what an intriguing bunch!) who pop in along the way. But mostly, I was caught up in the emotion of Marco and Rosa’s reunion, and their sexy, swoony romance.

This was a really sweet read. It’s a quick one, and I would have liked to have seen a bit more time with them together, and with their little girl, establishing themselves as a family, but I was happy with how it ended and am curious to check out more of the books from this world.

3.5 stars.

Need You Now is a complete standalone inside The Debt world (Tommy, Beth, Simon, Rosa and Carissa at St. Jokes!) In the home of St. Judes or St. Jokes the five children live through unspeakable things and yet they all come out with a bond and owing a debt after one hellish night of escape.

This is the third story in The Debt series that features Rosa and her boyfriend Marco (Yes, I realize this is the 4th book, but I'll argue that the first two books was really 1 story since it was a duet). Of the five children this book in particular can be read as a standalone without having read the prior ones. Molly does a fantastic job of interweaving the past with the present so you get a sense of what the children went through without having to have read the entire plot line. However, the series is really fantastic, so if you haven't read it, I highly encourage you to do so.

Need You Now is a new adult, second chance love story about a girl that originally only has two goals in life; have a healthy baby and making sure that baby gets with Marco, the baby daddy. Once she actually achieves the miraculous escaping of St. Jokes, which helps in achieving the custody part and also sets her on the path of having a healthy baby, she doesn't know what to do with the rest of her life, considering she is a convicted felon and is separated from Marco and her child for four years. Life seems bleak when she's only ever had two goals and she's never really had much of a future.

Marco has only ever loved Rosa. His entire life has been built around the future of her in it. When she doesn't return to him after her release from prison he is a torn man. Not only is he a single father, but he finds that he might be at the end of waiting for his life to begin. When a mysterious man appears offering up information on where Rosa is working Marco has a decision to make, find his future, or continue to wait for his future to find him.

Need You Now is explosive with a huge punch in the emotions!! If you loved The Debt series then you will love this story.

Oh my word, I have no words for this book.

When I started this book, I felt like I was in the dark, like I missed a part of the story, but the more I read, the more I was intrigued and couldn't stop reading it.
Rosa... Man this chick had a hard life, she just couldn't get on her feet. But then she met Marco and she felt like her life made sense. She was in love and they had a plan, but her brother and father just couldn't leave it alone. And things just didn't work out the way she planned.
Now its 5years later and she is trying to live her life one day at a time, but still its like fate keeps slapping her down. How is she going to get out of this tunnel with no ending. How will she get back to her little girl and the man she will never stop loving.

Marco has so much on his schoulders. He has a little girl he has to take care of and he is waiting for the love of his life to come back to them, but how long is waiting to long and when do you say maybe its time to move on... But he just can't, and no matter what his head is telling him, his heart is telling him that his family will be together again.

This book had so much sadness, so much emotions, so much angst and anger and to many things to even mention. So many things going on and you feel helpless cause you didn't know what was going to happen. It broke my heart in some parts, but then other parts will make you fall in love with this couple and will have you rooting for their happily ever after.

I’m so happy to finally read Rosa’s story!

16 and pregnant, she handed them the weapon and walked out of the door sealing her fate. For her baby’s future she knew she had to make it out of “St. Joke’s” that night before everything hit the fan and, in the end, she was the only one to do time.

Fast forward four years and we find Rosa alone, on parole and hiding from both her past and her future. And because of her past, she knew there couldn’t be a future. No matter what she did her family would always be there and finding a happily ever after wasn’t worth risking the lives of the ones she loved.

I love how this author writes. I love how she develops the characters and their story in a way that keeps you turning the page and always wishing there was more. Rosa is so relatable and you feel her from the beginning. As a mother, you know you’d sacrifice everything for your kids and she does just that. And it’s so heartbreaking at times I wondered if she’d ever get her HEA.

This book is a part of a series and you really must read all of the books before it to grasp the entire story. This story does end well but there are still some unresolved issues and a little teaser for the next book in the series. Bring on Bates’ story!
