Have you ever brought your ex-husband home and pretended to still be married?
Yeah, me either.
When my local hospital calls to say “I’m sorry to tell you this, but your husband has been in an accident” I try to explain the basics to them.
I am not married—anymore. (Archie Dunmore is a thing of the past.) If there’s a husband in the hospital, it’s not mine. Except Archie is back, and he's been in an accident. One that has left him with amnesia. Yup. He believes we’re still happily married. Oh joy.
Too bad for me, the doctor believes it would be best for Archie to remember things on his own. He needs familiar surroundings to heal.
No big shocks. No emotional trauma. Which means I can’t tell him the truth.
Archie bursts back into my life with all the warmth and joy of a freshly married man, confident that I’m the love of his life, and determined to fix the rift between us. Except how do I tell him that he walked out on me? Especially when Archie is desperately trying to remember what I’ve worked so hard to forget.
What’s a girl to do with an amnesiac ex-husband at her breakfast table?
Note for the listeners on what you will find in this NO CHEATING in this story! Absolute zero. Not gonna happen, captain. NO OW drama. No OM drama for that matter either. Single (only the prologue has a different narrator..and you’ll love her. Or else. Because Margaret is the best.) VERY low angst. If you’re looking for a good cry…well, there’s only tears of laughter in this story. Sorry. Content Adult conversations discussing substance abuse and assault referring to a past incident.
no one loves this book like i do idk what to tell u
This was genuinely one of the most fun and enjoyable books i’ve read this year by far.
The pacing is incredible, every single character has their own personality and is very likeable. There is not a single moment where it gets dull or boring, it kept me up till 3 am because I was so invested in these characters.
Now our main characters are so lovable, and their character development and personal growth along with the growth in their relationship with each other is so good to read, it truly made me feel so happy reading their development. They have a slight obsession with avocados which was ? at times but nonetheless very likeable.
Personally for me, I love a good second chance romance so to see it being executed this well is amazing. Their back and forth dialogues and flirting, were so cute and had me really kicking my feet in the air. The author has written these two so perfectly for each other, their chemistry is top tier.
One criticism I have for this book is, although their big fight was intense, I wish there was a bit more to it. there was this huge buildup that it felt there was supposed to be a bit more. I wish it could have been more angsty, but i still like how it was done.
All in all this was a really great book, it’s a short quick read that will let u escape into the words and characters lives and have an amazing time. i cannot recommend this book enough.
Thank you to the author, to NetGalley, and to Victory Editing for the arc.
this was such an easy, breezy read. i literally read it in one sitting, within a couple of hours.
that being said, this was pretty underwhelming. the story felt kinda rushed while the characters felt surface level— there just wasn’t much depth here. nothing for me to get attached to. far too much telling with very little showing, so i struggled to stay invested.
we kept getting told about how much they’d both grown in their time apart, how much had changed and how things were different now... i will believe it when i see it. i can’t get invested if you don’t show me. there is zero focus on them fixing their relationship, on exploring where things broke down and what needs to be worked on. i mean, we get the vaguest sentiments and explanations but not much else. we’re not even shown or told why and how they fell in love. i have no clue why these two wanted to be together.
i just don’t have much to say beyond feeling completely indifferent to this :/
a marriage in crisis romance should be full of angst, intensity, regret, heartache, betrayal, all that juicy stuff... and this one just wasn’t. instead it was pretty bland and smooth-sailing. nothing to sink my teeth into.
it wasn’t bad at all. just lacked a lot of depth.
thank you so much to NetGalley and Victory Editing for the arc in exchange for an honest review!
3⭐ Genre ~ contemporary romance Series ~ All's Fair, #1 Publication date ~ November 10, 2020 Est Page Count ~ 284 (p+ 30 chapters +e) Audio length ~ 7 hours 18 minutes Narrator ~ Kim Churchill POV ~ single 1st, present tense Featuring ~ amnesia, small town, second chance, no steamage
Meyer & Archie have been divorced for a year, so she's shocked when she gets a phone call saying he's been in an accident. Come to find out he has amnesia and doesn't remember the last two years so he thinks they're still married. In order to help him naturally regain his memories she takes him home and pretends they're still married.
Okay, so I do enjoy an amnesia story, but I'm not a fan when there's some deception with that, and here it comes from both of them. I did like how they slowly found their way back to each other because I do believe in second chances, but the reason for getting divorced was crazy. But then again who am I to speak about someone else's marriage, whether it be fictional or not.
Overall, there were some funny bits, so I'm going with middle of the road.
Side note ~ no biggie, but I'm super curious why the chapters are titled Meyer when she's the only narrator 🤔
Meyer and Archie were married. Then they were divorced. But Archie forgot about the latter after an accident and now, Meyer has to take him home and pretend that they’re still married. Everything’s complicated too because Meyer can’t decide between avenging her broken heart and protecting it so that it doesn’t get broken again. Because what happens when Archie finally remembers what he forgot and leaves again ?
You know when you read a romance novel, and since they’re mostly formulaic (no shade –I’ve read 160 romance novels this year alone…), around 75% there’s always this 3rd act conflict where the heroine and the hero get into a fight or some other thing before eventually getting back together at the end ?
So this book was like a really elongated version of that part. And I LOVED it ! Never have I ever loved a second chance romcom story this much. The amnesia plot (why I’d felt drawn to it in the first place) changed everything and the whole book felt like an exciting mix between second chance and enemies-stuck-together tropes.
Lovable male lead and a very relatable female one. The author has a fun writing style : I had a lot of fun being in Meyer’s head. There was just the right amount of angst and deception. At a certain point, the story feels like an homage to the unforgettable Friends quote : “They don’t know that we know they know we know.”
Honestly, this was a special book. I liked it so much that I stalked the author on Goodreads and picked up another book of hers immediately after finishing this one. And I have a new beloved romcom author now.

Many thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publishing team for providing me with a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Forget Me Twice took me by surprise. I like this book. This is my first book by Miss Taylor. The idea od amnesia to get second chance is not something I found a lot.
The back and forth banter between the characters need more vulnerable moment. Despite of that, somehow the story works. It is quite entertaining.
This is one of those books that come wrapped in a deceptively simple package (and I don't mean just the cover) but leave your heart twisted, shaking, in hopes of an HEA for characters you now love so much. Even the side characters were people I cared about or was curious about. I was either on the edge of sobbing or actually sobbing throughout reading this and the funny thing is, the characters don't have much depth - if you met them on the street you probably wouldn't be able to pick them up but the deceptively simple writing hints at complex, painful and very human concepts that your heart immediately recognises and all of that gives these people shape. I don't often read second chance romances, I haven't come across many but I'm starting to understand how painful the trope can be. If you were inclined to read a book with that trope for the first time, I'd definitely recommend this.
The whole book is single POV - through (h) Meyer's eyes. The pain of being left, of having a marriage not work out, of being in love with your ex-spouse despite everything, of rebuilding after breaking apart, and how communication really is ridiculously important - despite the lightness of the book with humor in many places, there is such respect for the heaviness of these realities. To understand that, a lot of times it takes two to break something, and that it's very rarely ever one person's fault for something ending - I loved seeing Meyer feel humbled by that. Archie (H) was a delight to read about as well. He's so fucking adorable. I love how Meyer's POV influenced and changed how I saw him at each point in the book.
Low spice, no sex but some palpable tension - and this wasn't even an issue 😄 Even a smut goblin like me wasn't complaining!
The only thing I'd like to point out is a flaw in the writing - I wish I was a better reviewer, one who knew how to point out technicalities and the correct writing jargon.. all I can say is that the writing or maybe the pacing(?) or the flow was a bit weird and off. It wasn't too easy on the eyes, but not unmanageable either.
Absolutely recommend this.
Special shoutout to illustrated covers xoxo 😌💕 They're so neutral and cute. I love leaving things to my imagination.
TW: mentions of alcoholism in the past and sobriety in the present, mention of attempted SA in the past - where the h was held and threatened but didn't escalate.
"Heal him. Keep him out of my pants. Don’t let him break my heart again. Easy-peasy."
Meyer & Archie have been going through some serious arguments which lead them to get a divorce. Both of them were equally at fault but gave up on their relationship and are separated for a year. But when Archie is suddenly caught in an accident, he loses his memories of that past two years and thinks that they're still happily married. Meyer has to take care of him and help him to avoid putting stress on his brain so she takes him to her house. For the most part, I enjoyed Meyer's character. She was witty, humorous, clever and independent. The situation which she had to deal with put her in a dilemma but she never lost her snark and mischievousness. Archie was just the perfect match for her because he knew her like the back of her hand and took efforts to really understand her thoughts. He may have been at fault before but he totally made up for his mistakes throughout the time they started living together again which showed that he was a good guy. This story was well written, funny, entertaining and Meyer & Archie's relationship was utterly adorable! I was rooting for them since the moment Archie held Meyer's hand in the hospital. The side characters weren't really an integral part of the story, I would have liked it more if they had a strong presence (I loved seeing Margaret's involvement though). Like Archie's mom is mentioned but she never make an appearance. Overall, there is great bante, an absolutely cute epilogue and plenty of laugh out loud situations, I strongly recommend reading this book.

The book was well-paced and written smoothly great to read on a rainy day!! The characters were soo fun and quirky! This was my first time reading an amnesia trope and I had a great time!! The plot was really intriguing and I loved how the characters worked through thier pasts, a second chance well deserved. I will say Meyer was quite annoying and the book felt slow at times but overall enjoyable!

When I tell you I couldn’t put this book down… I absolutely loved it. Meyer & Archie were so likeable. At some parts I was tearing up, other parts I was laughing. Such a great second chance romance book. If you haven’t read it definitely add it to your tbr!!! Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with this ARC in exchange for my honest review!
This was such a light, enjoyable read. I finished reading it in a matter of hours. I was interested in the book's premise right away because I had never read anything similar. I decided to give it a try, and fortunately I was given the chance to acquire an ARC.
A humorous second chance romance, Forget Me Twice. It emphasizes the highs and lows of relationships and how Meyer and Archie battled through those, making them realize they both needed to mature in order to move past their marriage issue.
Our main characters are so endearing, and reading about how they are growing as people, both personally and in terms of their relationships with one another, made me genuinely happy. It was adorable to see them flirt and converse back and forth. Their chemistry is top-notch since the author wrote these two so well for one another.
Meyer was intelligent, funny, cunning, and outspoken. Meanwhile Archie was the ideal partner for her since he knew her like the back of his hand and made an attempt to truly comprehend her ideas. He may have been at fault in the past, but he completely atoned for his errors throughout the time they resumed living together, demonstrating that he was a wonderful guy.
Every single character has a distinct personality and is incredibly likeable, and the pacing is amazing. There is never a dull or uninteresting part of the show. I also adore the author's writing style because it makes me feel as though I'm speaking to a friend.
Although their big fight was intense, I do have one complaint of this book's development: I wish there had been a little more to it. There was such a big buildup that it felt like there should have been a little more, which can ruin the mood, especially for a reader who is quite particular about that kind of thing. I thought the ending was a little too hurried, but I still think it was well done.
It wasn't at all terrible. simply lacked substance and could have been longer.
To be honest, this book was still unique! a genuinely sweet epilogue, with many amusing circumstances. I would still encourage everyone who enjoys older rom-coms and second-chance romance to watch this.
The anticipated publication date for the book is November 10, 2022.
And I thank the chance to acquire an ARC in exchange for an objective review from Victory Editing Co-op and NetGalley.
*Reviewed on Goodreads & NetGalley. Once released, I'll review it on my blog!
I got about 2/3 into this and it's just so damn boring... DNF I was hoping for a good old fashioned amnesia story with the H who did wrong and needs to grovel. Maybe an OW or something to stir the pot. Instead I got two people who started arguing a lot and not listening to each other. So they had a bigger argument and she kicked him out when he threatened to go and they were both too proud to back down and apologize.
spoilers ahead; She may have had a bit of an alcohol problem? If so it was mild. At first it sounded like he was the one to walk away for no reason, so I was all ready to savour his realization that he made a mistake and subsequent grovel. But the author is choosing to go the path where they were both idiots. More realistic approach if I was wanting realism. I mean it's a frickin' amnesia story. If I wanted realism, I wouldn't have chosen that for crying out loud?! AND reeeeealllllly, the amnesia wasn't even all the believable either. SO why the amnesia trope? It's not very convincingly done here and his memories returned just before I quit the book at 2/3 in. The story could just end here because they are obviously both ready to get back together. All they need to do is BOTH apologize. Which sounds about as appealing as dental flossing. SO I'm outta here.
Booooorrrring. Then there's her whole career of making earrings with buttons. It was so bloody laughable. I made earrings in university as a way to get a few extra dollars at the local flea market. It took hours to make the earrings and then there's the cost of the materials and the cost of the market booth. Most of the time I was lucky to break even. The only time it was lucrative was just before Xmas, until those people who went to Chile and brought back a lot of cheap handmade goods to sell took the booth next to me. I didn't make a dime that day. Now I'm supposed to believe that this woman makes enough earrings out of buttons to supply an upscale department store chain? With no factory or even employees? And she can afford a publicist?? Just the boxing of the damn earrings would take days. It boggles the mind and is just ridiculous. And that folks, was the whole story in a nutshell.
Safety is probably fine as there's no mention of actual dates for either of them since the divorce. Her publicist was trying to set her out with some guy but nothing had happened yet.

You know that tiktok video of that white lady that goes "i was an atheist until i saw jesus in my bedroom" this is exactly how i feel about this book it took me out of a 3 months long reading slump.
Honestly though there's nothing better than reading a romance book with a divorce couple and an ex husband who got amnesia and the ex wife has to take care of him because he thinks they're still married.
It's in no way perfect this book didn't make sense to me i am still thinking abt his plane that crashed into some senior citizen's backyard and didn't even scratch her house.....like ok i assume it's a small kind of planes but that doesn't make sense still like where the fuck was it gonna park? (Land??? Fuck the english language) is that even legal? Do people with small planes fly anywhere they want in America?? But then again yall can have guns and shoot ppl unprovoked so in my mind the United states is a fictional place.
Forget Me Twice is my first time reading a Carina Taylor book. My last read was more or less a smutty hot mess, so this clean romance found its way into my hands at just the right time. Although I would’ve liked a little more of a hint of steam right before “fading to black”, it was still a good thing having a reprieve — albeit completely unplanned (reading of a clean romance). FMT was a really solid choice as a palette cleanser.
Anyhoo… In theory, I like the idea of suspended reality romance concept of exes unexpectedly reconnecting when one of them has amnesia & falling back into love, but it’s tricky to find one that actually satisfies. With a 3.5 star rating, obviously, I can’t say Forget Me Twice nails it, but for the most part, it’s pretty cute.
I was really into the first 40%-ish especially. FMT got off to what for me would be a 4 stars start with how adorably earnest the hero, Archie was in his feelings for Meyer(heroine-Idk if I’ve ever heard this for a girl’s first name before), who he thinks is still his wife, after surviving crashing his small plane in the beginning. There was this engaging little spark of tension between them as she was instructed by a doctor to let him remember things on his own & he was all sweet, attentive, & wooing his ex by behaving as he would’ve before their problems & eventual split.
After a fall, my interest dissipated some upon Meyer’s discovery about Archie, after accidentally overhearing his conversation with his mother over the phone. ().
Also emotionally, I felt like the author played it a little too safe as further details of their split were revealed & just barely went beyond surface level. At times Meyer read a little more inexperienced than I found believable, especially having been married & now divorced.
Nonetheless, it was still cute(like I said) & I was still rooting for Archie & Meyer to reunite throughout. I just want a little more depth in the emotion & for the author to play up their chemistry a little more before “fading to black”.
The synopsis of this sounded SO cute. Unfortunately the execution left a lot lacking. Each chapter noting POV had me hoping for some chapters from Archie but, with the exception of the prologue, the entire story was from Meyers POV.
It felt like the two MCs were so set on complaints that something went wrong in their marriage (it's never clear what) that we didn't get to see any glimpses into what brought them together in the first place. The fight flashback felt a little out of place like here we're arguing, and someone yells just leave then. And that's that. Was it little arguments that built up? The conflict isn't really identified.
The story missed out on the so many opportunities to show chemistry, focusing instead on what felt like very childish pranks rather than what may have constituted as the author wanting to convey flirting. The ending felt rushed, because we didn't see any moments of chemistry, I didn't see myself rooting for the characters to reconcile.
I feel like this plot line would have worked better both dual POV and/or flashbacks throughout to show Archie and Meyer's love story. Also showing what was going through Archie's mind in the amnesia and post getting memories back. I think the author tried to go for a light hearted read with some pretty heavy topics that maybe needed to be approached with a bit more delicacy.
Ultimately there were just too many things missing in this story that it just wasn't for me.
Thank you Netgalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for the ARC in exchange for my review!
Forget Me Twice is a quick and fun read, meant for the second-chance romance fans out there! The book tells the adorable story of Meyer and Archie, a young and divorced ex-couple that sees their lives turning upside down when Meyer receives a call saying that her husband has been in an accident…Only she’s not married anymore, but Archie has now lost his memory and forgot to be divorced. As the story of the book goes through, we get to see their interactions and how their feelings are a bigger trap than the whole amnesia thing. It was my first book by the author and it was sure enjoyable, great to read. Still, I need to say that it’s a fast-paced novel, so it feels a little rushed sometimes, and I kinda was anticipating some major conflict between the protagonists—since they’re divorced and all—, which never happened. Also, the reason for their divorce wasn't explained until the last chapters, so don't go reading it expecting some big revelation because even when it happens, it still feels a little confusing. But anyways, it is a good book and definitely a great pick if you like the second-chance trope, that is!
Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
a fine, solid, fast-paced read. honestly i enjoyed it for what it was. definitely was a wise choice that i went into it blindly, cause I think i would’ve been disappointed. Tho i wish there was more development, as i wasnt really rooting that much for them as a couple
I think this is one of those instances where this book tapped into my reading mood at the perfect time! It begins with Meyer receiving an unexpected phone call revealing her ex-husband has been in an airplane accident, resulting in amnesia. Archie is completely unaware that he and Meyer are divorced.
Of course with all romances involving amnesia, you really have to suspend reality for the fun. As Meyer is forced to care for Archie until he recovers, there's plenty of reconnecting, sweet flirting, and even a few sprinkles of heavier topics. Overall a super light, entertaining read.
I appreciate that their separation was realistic in the sense that it wasn't an overly dramatic one-time situation that caused strife, but rather a collection of small problems that inevitably festered without proper communication. I liked seeing these two come together again after drifting apart and learning from their mistakes. It was cute!
The premise for this book was fun! An ex that forgets you aren't married anymore? That leads to some very awkward and entertaining situations. Archie and Meyer were so likable. It was easy to settle in and enjoy their story. I smiled a lot!
Content: mild swearing, mild innuendo. Kissing. Closed door intimacy.
I really enjoyed this charming story. I just love the whole amnesia trope and tend to drop everything when I come across a book with this kind of storyline. I really liked how things played out, I'm always curious how the author will work this into a story, especially when/if the person will get their memories back and how that will all play out. I enjoyed how it was handled in this book, the timing was good. I enjoyed Archie and Meyer as characters and seeing their relationship develop between them. Lots of chemistry between them, and it was good to see that they learned a lot in their time apart.
Overall, an engaging story that kept me turning the pages and ignoring real life responsibilities.
Content Rated PG+ Clean romance, kissing and mild innuendo. Mild language. Very mild violence in form of a past memory shared.
This book was fast-paced and an easy read. There were a lot of LOL moments that I enjoyed between the two MCs.
I really loved that the author showed how the separation was both their faults. They each owned up to their part in it. I think this book could have been a four or even five star if we would have had Archie's POV. I really would have loved to know what was going on inside of his head.
Also, I felt as if the "big fight" was a little underwhelming to lead to a divorce. I get that its also about all the little things that piled up before then. But, we didn't really get to see any of that to understand fully why they separated.
There is some mild language and a small amount of inneduo (a good portion is when he has amnesia and believes they're still married).
Overall, really cute, but could have had more depth. **I received an ARC from NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
An easy-to-read chick-lit book.I was really excited to read this one. I mean, an amnesia trope is always great to read. I love the angst, and this book did not have it enough. There are a lot more tender moments I found Carina Taylor's writing so easy to read. The premise was interesting and this was fast read, but overall I found it under-delivered.
ARC kindly provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
A cute, wholesome story about falling back in love with your ex-husband, who just happens to have amnesia after a plane accident. The characters are in their 20s, and the book has a light, sweet tone as it explores second chances, unexpected reunions, and rediscovering love. It’s a quick, feel-good read with just the right touch of heart and humor.
This one didn’t work out for me, I skipped like half of it. maybe it was the writing style idk but I didn’t connect with the characters or their relationship, I guess I might have appreciated the book if it hadn't been drawn as a romcom.
