This series keeps getting better!
In this book the killer is using Dante's Inferno as his playbook for his form of justice!
This investigation cuts close to home for one of the detectives and is faced with a moral dilemma, his job is to stop the killer, his feelings are a different story.
I can't wait to read the next book ans see where Casey Hill takes these complicated and enjoyable characters!

I really enjoyed this book. I liked that the killer based his craft on Dante's classic. I studied Inferno in University and enjoyed it. Anyone who works within the legal system knows what a joke it really is. Depending on what country you live in it may get worse though admittedly there is research showing that reform works over punishment but I think once victimized, victims want their pound of flesh versus forgiveness. The common man never realizes how bad the legal system is until they unfortunately become the victim. They go to the police for help but the police are handcuffed with regards to all the laws that restrict their investigations.
The one detective really struggles with catching the murderer as clearly the murderer is a vigilante handing out his own punishments. This is the second book in a series. It is a stand alone book though there are several references to what has happened in the past. The references are so veil that I often wondered if they were just in this book to give the first book a plug so to speak. The book comes together at the halfway point when a doctor is killed. It was at this point that I commented in a general update that I figured it out feeling that a female had been sexually assaulted and her father was seeking revenge on those involved. Well I wasn't exactly right but I really wasn't that far off the mark either. This was an enjoyable book and I think I will keep up on this series. Have fun and enjoy it............

I really enjoyed this edition from the husband and wife team that are Casey Hill. It had all the right twists and turns to keep me compelled, the prose used to describe the characters really gave an instant insight into who and what they were. The plot theme although laid out well in advance by Dante never at any point detracted from the narrative. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Too many scenes with only one character, and hence too little tension and display of human relations which is what - at the end of the day - is what I like to read about.
