ALYSSA DAY is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of romantasy, paranormal romance, and mystery novels whose books have sold more than a million copies and been translated into many languages, although she’s holding out for Klingon. She has lived with and battled chronic depression for her entire life and finally admitted it to her family—and the world—in 2014. Life is better now, because depression lies and tells us we’re alone.
We’re not.
Alyssa (as Alesia Holliday) is a diehard Buckeye from The Ohio State University who graduated summa cum laude from Capital University Law School in Ohio and practiced as a trial lawyer for several years before coming to her senses and letting the voices in her head loose on paper. She has lived all over the country and all over the world, including the Philippines, Turkey, and Japan.
When she’s not traveling to new adventures, she lives in Florida with her Navy Guy husband, spends time with her two amazing kids, and rescues dogs.
In case we've forgotten, the warrior Brennan was cursed by sea god Poseidon to never feel emotion...until he meets his true mate. But then he will immediately forget her the second she's out of his sight. Remember when he went psycho on the vamps in Boston? Yep, that's why...2000 years worth of emotion crashed over him at the sight of investigative reporter Tiernan. So 2 books later, we see what happens when he meets her again. Well, he feels her get bit by a vampire, and you guessed it...he feels her fear and not knowing who he's going to protect, he goes to her.
Tiernan sees a mist appear in her room, and when it turns out to be Brennan, she's excited, til he is dropped by all of those emotions again. The whole first night they're together is a battle for Brennan to stay sane, and for Tiernan to stay within his sight, so he won't forget her. In fact, when they wake up together, Brennan has forgotten her. She kissed his memories back to him, but he still only retains the recent memories. When they finally are alone together and reach the soul-meld, Ms. Alyssa Day threw a twist at us...Tiernan wants nothing more to do with Brennan...since he's going to forget her every morning, and any time they are out of each others' sight.
But then, they are captured by the big bad who is enthralling shifters into the vampire's evil bidding. But, the shifters' minds can't hold the thrall and they inevitably go mad, and tear everybody near them apart. ick. But turns out it's humans who are helping the vamps, and it's not vampire thrall, but neuroscience at it's best, er, worst. Mind control that is soo soo inhumane and torturous that using the innocent humans and shifters just breaks your heart.
***SPOILERS***
After several days of fracturing their minds, Brennan can only remember his name and The Woman. She is in the cell next to him, but he can't quite connect the woman in his head with the woman in his cell (Tiernan). But when she is threatened in front of him, his mind repairs itself enough that he saves her, tears apart every bad guy like we've been dying to see, and then tries to get them the heck outta Dodge. But they are recaptured and their brains scrambled once more, but each is made to think the other is dead, and Brennan gets medieval on them. Ooh, and how. But, big plot twist,
***BIG SPOILER*** Tiernan actually dies!
One of Brennan's gifts is lighting, he helps the defibrilators along, and brings her back. Then there's more fighting...boy is there more fighting, and finally a small HEA, until Poseidon realizes that Brennan is emoting and happy and has cheated the curse, since Tiernan technically died, the curse was broken. But luckily the moody sea god has a dark sense of humor and just messes with them before giving them a BIG HEA. Oh and triplets, don't forget the triplets.
İki bin yıldır hiçbir duygu hissetmeyen odun Brennanın içinden sezen cumhur önal çıktı resmen.Çok beğendim ktabı ama ben sabırla Alaricin hikayesini bekliyorum.
Excelent Read! The romance was HOT! This is one of those books that you can't put down because every page has you clinging to read more until you finish it.
I loved Brennan and Tiernan's romance. I have to say so far my favorite Warrior of Poseidon is Brennan. I loved everything about him, his desire, his feelings, and how he talked to Tiernan. Brennan reminds me of that saying "You had me at Hello".
Tiernan is a reporter who is out to put the evil scientist behind bars for life for their hideous experiments on humans and shape-shifters that turns their brains into mush and to where they are mind controlled. Tiernan has a gift of being able to tell if someone is telling her the Truth and she uses her gift to find out the truth behind the stories.
Brennan, a Warrior of Poseidon, who was cursed by Poseidon the God of the the Sea to have no emotions because of his actions in his younger youth.
"I CURSE YOU THUS: FOR ALL ETERNITY, UNTIL SUCH TIME AS YOU MEET YOUR ONE TRUE MATE, YOU WILL FEEL NO EMOTION. NEITHER SADNESS NOR JOY; NEITHER RAGE NOR DELIGHT."
"WHEN YOU DO MEET HER, YOU WILL EXPERENCE A RESURGENCE OF ALL OF THE EMOTIONS YOU HAVE REPRESSED OVER THE YEARS AND CENTURIES AND EVEN MILLENNIA."
"IF THAT ALONE IS NOT ENOUGH TO DESTROY YOU, YOU WILL ALSO BE CURSED TO FORGET YOUR MATE WHENEVER SHE IS OUT OF YOUR SIGHT, ONLY WHEN SHE IS DEAD - HER HEART STOPPED AND HER SOUL FLOWN - WILL YOUR MEMORY OF HER FULLY RETURN TO YOU, THUS ALLOWING YOU UNTIL THE END OF YOUR DAYS TO REPENT BRINGING DISHONOR UPON THE NAME OF THE WARRIORS OF POSEIDON."
I love how Brennan confesses his feelings for Tiernan and how he conforts her when they are talking about their mistakes in the past or even though they are both caught by the mad scientist and face the chair that will turn their brains to mush or death.
"Friends and family argue and fight, but it means nothing. It's human nature. Love isn't perfectly patient or kind or sunny. Love is volatile and tempestuous and forgiving."
"You are more than I could ever deserve, Tiernan Butler," he said, his voice low and husky. "I will see you safely out of this hell if it is the last thing I ever accomplish in this life. You are Mine, my revelation and my redemption, and I will never let you go.
The curse is fullfilled when the mad scientest put Tiernan in the chair and tell her that Brennan is dead, she gives up into the electral shocks and her heart stops, dies and her soul is flown toward heaven.
However, throught the pain and madness, when Brennan hears the guards speak of Tiernan dieing, he goes mad and storms the place in a fury and kills everyone but when he gets to Tiernan, he is too late, she is dead. But to his rescue, Daniel (vampire on their side) and Deirdre (Erin's sister) show up and figure out they can revive her with an electric shock to the heart and they do when they add the electric shock through Brennan's Altereans powers of lightning from Poseidon and they are reunited again.
In the end, Poseidon himself reveals himself to them in the garden and grants Brennan happiness for the rest of his life and that Brennan and Tiernan will be apart of the prophecy and will have either twins or triplets to fight for Atlantis along with the new prince Aidan.
Other things happen with the other warriors, for instance, Alaric tells Quinn that he found out that his celebracy was a lie and that he could now have a relationship with her but she only gives him a promise that she would consider it after the war was over.
The whole crew, Conlan, Riley, their son Aidan, Alexios, Grace, Ven and Erin, Brennan and Tiernan, Quinn and Aleric, Jack the Tiger, and the Fae Prince Rhys na Garanwyn attend the shape-shifter - Wolfs - Lucas and Honeys naming of their twin boys and to dedicate them to the future of the world where all men and women of like mind, regardless of race or species will depend on cooperation between all.
I absolutely love how this story is building up and look forward to reading the next book "Atlantis Betrayed"

Ya canımm Brennan ❤️ Gönlümü fethettin resmen. Acın acım, mutluluğun mutluluğum, kahkahan kahkaham oldu... Ve Tiernan, Poseidon'a seninde kafa tutmana bayıldım😁 Ve sondaki Poseidon'un Brennan'a üzüm attığı sahnede yarıldım.
Alyssa Day always seems to deliver a book with a punch, she dose it again with Atlantis Redeemed. I found this book nothing less then amazing there is so much, I don’t know where to start and what to tell, I don’t want to give out a whole lot because it was just to good. So here we go. In this one you find not to piss Poseidon off when Brannan does just that, he finds himself cursed like no other, lets just say when Poseidon delivers a curse he does it with just the right touch to make you forget, but yet not forget (you have to read to get it). Along with the curse Brannan finds Tirenan (Tracy Baum) again this time she is on a mission to take down a scientist that is doing hideous experiments with humans and shape-shifters, this is an dangerous adventure alone then add the curse on top its madness.
Out of all the books I have read, I really fell in love with the heron Tiernan’s character she is strong period. What she goes through in this book is crazy, yet she was never a wimp, cries oh woo is me, or rolls over, as sex goes they only have it one time and it was hot! she takes everything in and welcomes it all. The whole time they are keep prisoner at the lab is a page turner, then at one point Tiernan dies Brennan and a few others brings her back and its was just about one of the most exciting scenes I have actually read, I was like WOW! I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. Plus she stands up to Poseidon.
I liked Brennan he is cursed for over two thousands years and when he finally finds his mate nothing lets up for him, its sad at times and happy at times. O.k. I have to give you a clue on the curse its killing me! So just imagine you get to know someone and tell her about your curse and find that she will go through this with you, then you fall asleep and wake up next to someone you have never laid you eyes on. Now you know he has a hard time. The only problem I had with Brennan is he is a little to proactive, but after knowing what the curse is I guess you cant blame him.
If you keep up with this series you wont be disappointed with this one just like the rest you get it all and more besides. If you have never tried this series please give them a try they are wonderful. I find like most series they keep getting better by each book.
Wow, two thousand years of blocked emotions add a steamy intensity to the latest Warriors of Poseidon tale
Atlantis Redeemed has a great hook and a most excellent beginning. Atlantean Warrior Brennan was cursed 2000 years ago by Poseidon to feel no emotion until the day he meets his mate and then he is doomed to forget her every time she leaves his sight until the day she dies. Then the most vindictive part of the curse kicks in - he will regain his memory of her so that he can mourn the loss of his soul mate for all eternity. What a wicked curse - never, ever get on a god's bad side.
We met Brennan's mate, reporter Tiernan, in the previous book. Like all the other female soul-mates in the series Tiernan has a more than human power, Tiernan's is that she's a human lie detector. Brennan's first encounter with his mate is incredibly intense, all his emotions come back with a vengeance and he is bombarded with 2000 years of denied emotions at once and quite overwhelmed with his new feelings of lust and possessiveness for his mate - it is only his warriors training which keeps him from succumbing to his desire and claiming Tiernan against her will. Tiernan's power makes it so that she can readily accept the truth of Brennan's curse, which I found refreshing - no drawn out big misunderstanding to overcome- and when Tiernantests Brennan to see if she can detect his lies - wow! Talk about intense and steamy, Brennan can lie to me anytime.
The intensity level eventually comes down to a more normal level but Atlantis Redeemed still ends up as my favorite in the series so far. There are also good cameos from past pairs, and some vampire intrigue by Daniel and evil scientists who are a threat to shifters and humans both, all which add to the continuing story arc. Can't wait for the next one, Atlantis Betrayed, Cristophe's book out in Sept 2010.
Oh, this series is killing me. I just can't put it down. I need to read more and more. What is not to like about a world about to get into war between shifters, vampires, faes, humans and our good and hot Atlantean warriors? I just love this series and can't wait to keep reading it, I just don't get bored of it.
In this installment we get to read about Brennan, a warrior 2000 years old cursed by the sea god to not feel any emotions at all, ever, at least until he finds his true mate, but ten forced to forget her if they separated, even for the briefest time. LOL, this made some really funny scenes, like Tiernan trying to go to the bathroom without wanting him to see her and him without being able not to,LOL.
The world building in this series is terrific, just TERRIFIC. I don't know how to explain it, but you just get so caught up in it. It's so well explained and described that it feels like watching a movie. Also this series has something that I love that many others don't, and that is having the characters in it very well described. You get to know very well all the warriors, even after reading each of their books, they just keep appearing so you get to see them after getting married and having their own families. You just have to love this series.
And there are still so many characters I need to read about.Devon, Alaric and the tiger are 3 of my loves in this series. Every time we read from their perspective I get so into the story that I don't realize I end up reading every word in detail trying to find more than there is there and trying to make it last longer.. Specially Allaric, *sigh*.
Okay, so now you all JUST START READING it so I have more friends to discuss it,LOL.
Hate: * So over the top with the ancient warrior stuff. * All true love is determined by flames in eyeballs of warriors + soul meld during sex. Um... ok. So author never has to really develop a "why" or show us people falling in love because they are simply meant to be.
Love: * World building, plot twists, characters * Writing style * non-stop action and adventure
So I guess this goes in guilty pleasure reading department. Because I love them... but also don't. I'm conflicted, but I'll keep reading.
My favorite of the series so far. I liked the curse on Brennan and thought Tiernan made for an interesting heroine. I thought it was a bit too bloody for my taste or it would have gotten five stars. It's a weird combination of gore and romance.
I'm a big fan of AD's Atlantis series and I was really looking forward to Brennan's story. Imagine being cursed for 2 MILLENIA to have no emotions. You can't experience fear, anger, joy, sadness, triumph or love. To a warrior this has to be a curse extraordinaire. Now add to that curse: when Brennan finds his destined mate, his true love, he will not remember her once she is gone from his presence. Only when she dies and her spirit is in Heaven, will he remember and mourn her.
There's nothing I despise more than the intrepid female reporter, so imagine my horror when Brennan's mate is destined to be Tiernan. Although she wasn't as bad as some female reporters I've read in other books, she still had that "I know everything and I'm not going to listen to you" attitude that turns me off so fantastically. Tiernan is also a "Truth Teller", able to discern when someone is telling a lie, unless that person completely believes what they are saying, such as a psychopath or someone doing something on orders that turn out to be a lie. Vampires are also able to fool the truth meter. So everything Brennan says to Tiernan has to go through her truth meter. Luckily Brennan is a straight up kinda guy so this isn't a problem. In Tiernan's defense however, I will say that this "gift" makes her life miserable, and I did feel some sympathy for her in that respect. She has few close friends and even less close family, so she is on auto pilot when it comes to getting close to others, including Brennan.
One scene in which Tiernan "sees" her future with Brennan through the soul meld turned me off Brennan almost completely. I'm all about protecting myself when it comes to happiness and love, but Tiernan took that to an extreme (at least in my opinion) and her reaction to Brennan's curse and how it would affect their future was uncalled for. She could have been more diplomatic or at the very least, more understanding, but instead, she hurt Brennan on a deep emotional level that I just can't forgive her for.
Brennan I loved. His curse is shattered when he meets Tiernan and in the space of a few moments, 2000 years of emotions bombard him in an unbelievably torturous way. It almost turns him feral. But also recognizing that Tiernan is his destined love, he is able to control the avalanche enough to be functional. Even without the inner Atlantean "love radar" telling his Tiernan is his, he is attracted to her. His ability to control raging emotions when around her is at times, herculean, and when they do finally give in to the passion, its explosive. What I wouldn't give for a man who loved me the way Brennan loves Tiernan!
We also see a bit more (but not much in all truth) of Alaric and Quinn's story, and we have old friends like Conlan, Ven and Alexios in the story as well. The mystery was complicated but somewhat see-through and I thought the ending was wrapped up a little TOO nicely.
Another excellent read from Alyssa Day. My only complaint? The next one isn't due out until September...
Brennan is a wonderful character always cool, logical, and TOTALLY unemotional due to a 2000 year old curse laid on him by Poseidon. Personally, given the EXTREMELY punitive details of the curse and the even more vindictive requirements for breaking it [the heroine has to die, for heavens sakes!!!:], I doubt if I would have continued to serve Poseidon... In this book, when he is with his soul mate ALL the emotions of the last 2000 years return - at the same time. Talk about a tortured hero.
Tiernan is a reporter and once introduced in the previous book. She's a reporter with a useful talent - she's a human lie detector. [Good for her job but a nasty skill to have in the course of a normal life.:]
Lots of previously met characters have cameos or supporting roles in this one - Daniel, Alexios and Grace, Conlan and Riley, and of course, Alaric and Quinn...
Although the story of Brennan and Tiernan is satisfactorily resolved, there is an ongoing series story arc so be sure and read these in order.
Warriors of Poseidon 1. Atlantis Rising (2007) 2. Wild Hearts in Atlantis (2007) (in Wild Thing) 3. Atlantis Awakening (2007) 4. Shifter's Lady (2008) (in Shifter) 5. Atlantis Unleashed (2008) 6. Atlantis Unmasked (2009) 7. Atlantis Redeemed (2010) 8. Atlantis Betrayed (2010)
This was a good read. Alyssa Day really has a way with beautiful words and imagery.
There were surprises in this book. One of the characters died and I certainly wasn't expecting it. I thought for sure this character would get a book. It was completely unexpected but it really was a beautifully written scene.
All in all, this was a good addition to the series. I liked Tiernan (great name) and Brennan. They were a wonderful couple.
It was nice visiting with old characters from earlier books as well as the continuing relationship between Alaric, the High Priest and Quinn, Riley's sister.
Readers of the Warriors of Poseidon will enjoy this most recent enstallment. It certainly has me anxiously awaiting Quinn and Alaric's book...however long that will be.
For the most part I liked this book as much as all of the Warriors of Poseidon series. However, this was my second time reading it and something bothered me a lot more than it did the first time. Though Tiernan is a strong-willed and intelligent woman, she shows a ridiculous lack of common sense at the most critical point in the book. I won't post spoilers but will say her lack of discretion in a room full of enemies irked me. I almost put the book down, but am glad I didn't. That one scene was easy to get past to finish a really good book.
Talk about a hard life living with no emotions. Breenan is one of the warriors of the seas god. He end up finding his mate and gains his emotions back for a while. His memory leaves every time he sleeps and that can be a problem due to the fact every time he sees his mate he goes crazy. A great story that i enjoyed reading especially when the bad guys are trying to warp people's minds and he is on the job to stop them. A must read.
Brennan - an ancient Atlantean warrior... 2000 years ago he had a part in the suicide of a princess, and he spent months drunk, angering Posiedon, who cursed him as such: no emotion until he meets his lifemate; when meets his lifemate, all of the emotions will rush back to him; will forget his lifemate when she is out of his sight (including in sleep); until her death, then he will remember everything about her... hmmmm
2000 years later, he is an unemotional warrior who does his duty... and the vampires are trying to strike against world by enthralling shifters, fae, and humans alike, making all their slaves... and they have a mad scientist to help them...
Tiernan, reporter, saved by the Atlanteans in a previous book when she was investigating the death of her fox shifter roommate is hot on the trial of the mad scientist... she is attending a conference in yellowstone park, where Lucas is the pack leader... and some of his pack as well as other weres are going berserk, after escaping from the scientist's lair...
Devon/David - vampire, who wants peaceful coexistence with all is also working to discredit the scientist and other vampires...
Tiernan & Brennan go under cover, as journalist and billionaire with money to invest... they are captured, tortured - each subjected to the mind altering chair... Brennan, in a nick of time, remembers the truth... but Tiernan is overloaded and dead (hence the curse is broken)... but David & Brennan revive her with electrical shock... with the help of Lucas' pack, Atlanteans & vampire, they are freed, they destroy the lab, the curse is broken, because Tiernan died (and found a measure of peace because her friend & baby were happy)... and Tiernan is writing a series of articles about the atrocities...
and in Atlantis, Tiernan & Brennan are touring the gardens, and come to a statue of Posiedon - who comes alive... and after a degree of blustering, makes Tiernan immortal and 'blesses' their union - predicting triplets in their future...

Tiernan, after getting over the shock of Brennan’s attack, listens to his story… is drawn to him… and manages him with humor, with her touch, with her deep self confidence and commitment; they end up captured in Litton’s lab… they use the chair on Brennan repeatedly… he is crazed… Tiernan is giving up hope of being able to get him to regain his memory… but when the guards go into her cell with lustful intent, he comes to himself… and garners his power – plus Posideon’s power… and zaps a lot of people… Tiernan is taken and put in the chair… and resists, but dies – spends time with a happy Susannah and child, and then Quinn starts CPR… Brennan channels Poseidon’s power and she is brought back to her body… fulfilling the curse… this time when they kiss and bond, she sees a happy future… ahh… and later, in Atlantis… walking through the gardens – see Poseidon’s statue – it comes to life, and Poseidon blesses their union – and gives Tiernan life as long as Brennan’s… ahhh Ends with the joining of Lucas’ weres, the Atlanteans, Daniel/some vampires, and Rhys na Garanwyn, Fae joining against evil;
Memorable Scenes: Brennan’s curse – 202 BC Rome; “I curse you thus: For all eternity, until such time as you met your one true mate, you will feel no emotion. Neither sadness nor joy; neither rage nor delight. When you do meet her, you will experience a resurgence of all of the emotions you have repressed over the years and centuries and even millennia. You will also be cursed to forget your mate whenever she is out of your sight, only when she is dead – her heart stopped and her soul flown – will your memory of her fully return to you.”
“He wondered again, as he had so often before, when he would surrender to the bleakness of his destiny – and end it. Soon, perhaps. But not today. Not until his curiosity about the woman Tiernan had been satisfied.”
When he meets Tiernan, and 2,000 years of pain & joy overcome him, he draws on the lessons of his early training to control himself;
“The fog coalesced into a sparkling, shimmering shape – a large and broad shape – the shape of a man. The golden light from the lamps reflected off of tiny particles in the water, projecting a cascadeof mini-rainbows across every flat surface in a brilliant light show. Then the cloud of mist exploded outward as if triumphantly hailing the man who stepped from it.”
“But wishers were not seahorses, or sea nymphs would indeed ride, as the saying went.”
After sex… and bonding… she sees his past…and their future – “…that had devastated her. The image of what Brennan’s future would be if they continued to care about each other. Brennan would suffer the most, and his hold on reality would shrink and diminish until he was lost in the madness of the curse….” Waking each day next to a stranger, unable to remember her or their children… until…

A warrior with no emotion… Doomed by Poseidon millennia ago to live life bereft of feelings, Atlantean warrior Brennan’s curse is shattered when he meets Tiernan - a human with the ancient Gift of Truth Telling. Attraction turns deadly when the woman he could never forget becomes the woman he can never remember. With the fate of Atlantis on the line, will a warrior’s uncontrollable desire destroy the world? A woman with an eye for the truth… Tiernan’s job as an investigative reporter is perfectly suited to her unique ability to see through any falsehood. But when she discovers human scientists conducting hideous experiments on humans and shape-shifters alike, only a wildly sexy Atlantean can help protect her from the those determined to see her fail and die. When the future of the world is at stake, can she overcome death itself so together they can protect mankind? When truth and passion collide… Atlantis is redeemed.
Heather's Notes This was not my favorite Atlantis story. One I never really like amnesia stories. Two Tiernan acted really stupid several times. The torture while thankfully not graphic also didn't have the traumatic effects one would expect for being tortured for several days. Also I am getting really tired of Poisidens stupid but, someone needs to put him in his place.
Wow 2000 years of living without any emotions, cursed by the god Poseidon because Brennan liked wine, women, and song so much...lol I'm not sure why Brennan stood out so much to Poseidon but in the end I think the punishment was way worse than the crime especially when he offered to marry the girl he got pregnant and she laughed in his face, gods seem to like drama way too much...
Catching up to now after 2000 years with never feeling a single emotion Brennan meets his soul mate and things get tricky thanks again to Poseidon and the curse he placed on Brennan omg these gods need a swift kick at times for playing with peoples lives the way they do...
So Tiernan is a reporter after the story of a lifetime and a bit of vengeance for the death of her best friend who was a shifter, Brennan needs to keep her safe but the big lug also needs to learn some manners and he also needs to remember Tiernan and stay sane all at the same time but hey he is an Atlantean Warrior so this should be simple right?...lol
What an adventure, I loved all the twists and turns now onto the next.
'Atlantis Redeemed' is Alyssa Day's fifth book in her "Warriors of Poseidon" series and this one was a bit more intense than what's come so far. Imagine living for over 1,000 years and not being able to feel or express any type of emotion. That has been Brennan's life. Poseidon had watched him and concluded that Brennan was an embarrassment to the rank he carried of being one of his warriors. So, Poseidon placed a life-long curse on Brennan. Perhaps it was deserved, perhaps not … you decide. And then there's Tiernan, an investigative journalist who discovered a plot where human scientists had joined with vampires to enthrall and enslave all of humanity. To make matters worse, she watched her best friend being killed. It's intense. It's emotional. It's heartbreaking in spots. It's romantic and endearing. But they haven't found everything yet so the tale continues.
"i am afraid i would cry for as least ten days, or even thrice that. you will be forced to call the front desk and ask for buckets to catch the tears and i will flood the park. next the television person will be reporting on bison caught in the flood, being forced to swim for safety." "okay, you win. i'll quit feeling sorry for myself, but only for the sake of the buffalo."
"you look like a two-year-old who needs juice and a nap. you're at the 'i wanna' and 'no, no, no' stage of emotional development."
"you're helpless in the face of naked boobs."
"better watch this one. he's passed rational and took the crazy highway a couple of stops ago."
Fifth in the Warriors of Poseidon mythic fantasy romance series revolving around Atlantean warriors making up a special guard which protects the crown prince of Atlantis, the Seven. The couple focus is on Brennan and Tiernan Butler out in Yellowstone Park.
My Take This started so well, but somewhat into it, I started hoping that someone would take out Brennan and Tiernan if only for Darwinian purposes.
It was useful to finally discover what was behind the curse laid on Brennan back in 202 BC, and Tiernan made some very good points. I am curious if Tiernan educates Brennan on popular culture. There were so many references she made that he didn't understand. I loved the comment she made about him being "a two-year-old who needs juice and a nap"!
Duh. They initiate all these plans, but fail to consider that plans change. And the manner in which they protect needs to change as well. I mean, hullo, they have advance warning as to what they plan to do. They even get a heads-up with that confrontation outside the hotel. Why, oh why wouldn't they be trailing Brennan and Tiernan?? S T U P I D.
More stupid drama with Tiernan freaking out after the soul meld. What a bitch she is! Stupid drama for the sake of it…naughty and lazy, Day. This whole undercover thing is supposed to be so important, and Brennan and Tiernan screw it up royally. I mean ROYALLY. For intelligent people, they were both so incredibly dumb.
Day came up with a pretty horrific bad guy set-up; the scary part is that there probably are people out there doing stuff like this. No, I don't mean the paranormal aspect of it…eek…unless some bad guy out there believes in it!
I did like that one encouraging bit when Devon, Jones, and Smith are discussing some setbacks…at last!
The Story Tiernan is undercover at the International Association of Preternatural Neuroscience (IAPN), but the question is: can Brennan maintain her cool around her…especially after Boston!
Unfortunately, there's no choice in who to send what with the other conference at the Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel.
And there's no hope of cool when Tiernan is attacked just as she's arriving. Suddenly inundated by over 2,000 years of emotion and the possessive need to protect, Tiernan just doesn't know what to do with over 200 pounds of dangerous, muscled warrior. Then there's Tiernan's particular Gift. One that has kept her alone amongst people.
The Characters Tiernan Butler is a Boston reporter with an eye on a Pulitzer as well as avenging the death of her friend. She's been chasing this story about brain manipulation by the vamps for a long time, and she is this close. Rick Lawrence is her editor at the Boston Herald.
Brennan hasn't experienced any emotions for over 2,000 years since Poseidon laid a curse on him for dishonoring the Seven when he was 19, causing the death of Corelia and the babe. The only way to break it is for him to meet his mate; the only way to remember her, is for her to die.
The rest of the Seven include... ...the King's Vengeance "Ven", the crown prince's brother with his mate Erin, the gem singer; Lord Justice, Ven and High Prince Conlan's half-brother, and his mate, Dr. Keely McDermott; Alexios with his part goddess-huntress Grace; the ever cheeky Christophe; Denal; and, the infrequent Bastien with his park ranger-kitty Kat. Alaric is the High Priest and absorbing some very welcome news he is finally believing that Keely unearthed. Now if only his potential mate would buy into it. Riley Dawson is Conlan's mate, and they have a baby boy, Prince Aidan.
The Yellowstone wolf pack is... ...led by Lucas, the alpha; his mate, Honey, gave birth to twin sons, Lucas Alexios and Nathan Brennan. Litton's experiments are affecting his wolves, driving them mad. Quinn and Jack have a cameo.
Rhys na Garanwyn, High Prince of the High House of the Seelie Court, shows up for Lucas' sons' christening.
The Experiments Devon is the vampire heading up the group backing the scientists in their experiments. Dierdre appears to be his vampire mate. Smith and Jones are powerful, monied vampires in their own right with Jones quite envious of Devon. The obsequious Mr. Wesley is Dr. Litton's assistant. Dr. Litton is the head of this experimental group with a callous, Nazi-like disregard for life whatever its form. Smitty is one of the guards, a very intelligent guard which poses the greatest threat. Daniel makes a late appearance.
The Cover and Title The cover is mostly royal blue with a bit of green besides the lovely flesh tones delineating Brennan's naked, muscled back where his trident tattoo gleams on his right shoulder blade. Brennan is wearing new blue jeans and carrying a very short trident against a shipwreck'd background, bubbles beginning to rise from the bottom.
I haven't a clue as to what the title refers, but that's consistent with the rest of the series.
This series needs to be read in order, with perhaps some books in between each book. By number five, it felt like they all becoming the same. They each had different lead characters and different 'issues', but the background and ongoing struggle was the same. The characters' stories are resolved, but the driving force behind them isn't. That being said, I am enjoying the series and the depth of the characters. Revisiting different couples from prior stories is fun, as well. Just pace yourself, and enjoy.
We continued the story of the Warriors of Poseidon from Atlantis. This time they’re battling a crazy doctor who wants to control everyone with a mind control device. Yes, it sounds like a James Bond plot, and even the author casually mentions that hero in the book, but it’s well done, and the storylines that began two books ago, are wrapped up in this one. There are some sad spots in the book, and we revisit some old friends and wrap up a storyline or two with them too.
another good book by Alyssa Day this is Brennan and Tierian story..as it always goes Poseidon's warrior met and fall in love with their lifemates and of course most of them have some kind of gift Tierians is truth telling so like if someone lies to her she can tell it but what they say except for Vampires so far..they are after some bad scientist that are enthralling humans and shifters to do their bidding as well as for the vampires whom want to control all. enjoy
Brennan was cursed, his emotions suppressed. Finding his soulmate but forced to forget her when she is out of sight. Embarking on a mission to stop a scientist from enthralling and controlling shifters and humans. They may have to pay the ultimate price. Surprising alliances and plenty of action keep you reading to the end of this adventure.
