She’s here to sell my ranch, but now I think she might steal my heart.
Rory Jones prided herself on the successful life she’d built as a wellness influencer and author - until she walked in on her boyfriend with another woman after a family funeral. Forced to run away to her late great aunt’s ranch in Colorado, Rory’s hoping that fixing up and selling the place will help her find her confidence and inspiration to write again.
But Wyatt Hensley, the grumpy head rancher, isn’t willing to hand over the reins to the job he gave everything up for. Especially not to a yoga-loving, manifestation guru who doesn’t even know how to ride a horse. Yet, with a past that’s taught him to not bother dreaming anymore, even Wyatt knows he can’t hold on forever.
Until one day they strike a deal that might just save both of their careers – help Rory turn the ranch into a wellness retreat and Wyatt can stay.
With Rory’s shattered self-confidence and Wyatt’s last drop of hope also on the line, staying professional is a must. But can they ignore the sizzling tension growing between them that could jeopardise it all?
Especially when the rocky path ahead seems a lot easier with the other riding beside them.

I was excited for a cute small-town cowboy romance, but this one left me a bit underwhelmed. Aurora and Wyatt have undeniable chemistry, yet their dynamic felt a bit forced. The so-called enemies-to-lovers angle didn’t really land—their initial dislike fizzled into attraction without a clear reason, making it hard to buy into the whole journey.
On top of that, the constant reminders of Aurora’s height, her hair color, and Wyatt’s eyes started to feel repetitive, and Wyatt himself came off as a bit of a pushover rather than the broody, decisive cowboy I was expecting. There were moments where I appreciated the humor and charm, but overall the pacing dragged, and the third act conflict was clumsily handled, leaving me disappointed.
Even so, there’s a certain small-town vibe that makes me curious about the rest of Wyatt’s circle. I’m not ready to write it off completely, but this installment just didn’t hit the mark for me.
This was a sweet and spicy romance! I also found this novel to be super cute. I loved the small town vibes, the cowboy male main character and the Colorado setting! It is lighthearted, funny, emotional and hopeful. The dual point of views of this book gave me more insight into the main characters and what they were thinking and how they felt. This is a medium paced read filled with lovable characters. It did take me a while to get into this book and I did want more banter between the main characters. I love the enemies to lovers trope, it’s one of my favorites! However, it didn’t take long before these two became instant lovers. Overall, I give this book a 3 out of 5 stars!

Being a successful author and wellness influencer, Rory Jones is proud of the life she built for herself–that is, until she returns home from her aunt’s funeral and walks in on her boyfriend cheating on her. Her heart broken and confidence shattered, Rory runs to her aunt’s ranch in Colorado, where she hopes to fix it, sell it, and get some inspo for her work. It’s smooth sailing ahead, if only a certain handsome and grumpy cowboy wasn’t making it his life mission to get on her nerves and make her stomach flutter. Can she ever revert to her old self after losing her aunt and her boyfriend’s betrayal?
Wyatt Hensley knows what it’s like to be burned by people he trusted, which is why he likes to keep to himself and stay far away from the rays of dreams he doesn’t dare to dream. But when Rory waltzes onto the ranch and into his life, Wyatt quickly realizes that his grumpy and melancholic exterior melts under the sunshiny optimism of his new boss, especially when she comes up with a plan that can help her keep the ranch and save the job he loves. Although annoying Rory is fun, making her blush and smile up at him is something Wyatt can get used to. But how long will it be before Rory’s sunshine burns him, too?
I’m not going to lie, I walked into this thinking I wasn’t going to like this. Granted, I do like a good cowboy romance, but I was a bit put off by the whole wellness and fitness side of the story because it’s just something I’m not into. HOWEVER, nobody is more shocked than I am at how much I was grinning like a fool and chuckling like an idiot. Is it perfect? No, but it is sweet in a cheesy, predictable-but-satisfying kind of way. Let’s go through what I liked and didn’t like about this romance.
✨What I liked✨ You know me, I do love a good, picturesque setting. So, obviously, I enjoyed the beautiful landscape of Colorado as the backdrop for this story. What’s not to love about majestic mountains, green, rolling hills, and a fresh, sweet breeze dancing through the trees? Nature is definitely something that we should never take for granted. ❤
Unlike the last book I read (*cough* It’s Different This Time *cough*), I actually liked the characters. Rory was sweet and a little too optimistic for my cynical self, but I thought her journey of gaining confidence in herself was something I could try to implement in my own life because I am the exact opposite of confident. ☺ I sympathized with Wyatt and his reason for being so grumpy, like the ex that did him dirty and his dad’s expectations that he didn’t meet. But there are some things about him that I was iffy about, but I’ll get to that later. Also, they were kind of cute together, but I think I smiled more when Wyatt was with his friends and little sister. Camaraderie always puts a smile on my face.
Although predictable, the plot was actually quite interesting. I don’t know if I’ve gotten impatient or what, but for some inexplicable reason, when I reach chapter 30 in any book that has more than that number, I’m asking myself, “What more can possibly happen that hasn’t happened already? Why are there seven more chapters? Oh, and there’s an epilogue? Good Lord, give me strength.” (Actual conversation with myself, by the way.) Besides my annoying impatience, I rooted for the characters and their individual journeys to becoming better, stronger people as they turned the ranch into a wellness retreat. A journey is worth embarking on if you become a better person today than the person you were yesterday.
✨What I Didn’t Like✨ I understand why authors like to assign their characters the task of giving out pet names or terms of endearment, and it’s cute…sometimes. But when Wyatt called Rory “princess” the first day he met her, I wanted to punch him AND Rory for not putting him in his place. Maybe later he can call her that, but constantly calling her that under the guise of “getting on her nerves” was a big turn-off for me. It just sounded disrespectful and kinda gross. I’m probably taking it the wrong way, but it’s one of the reasons why I was iffy about the book when I started to read it. The name didn’t even grow on me as feelings started to blossom, so that was a bit irksome. 😅
Rory and Wyatt’s romance was kind of an insta-love thing. Sure, you know some things about each other, but can you all at least find out what their favorite color is or something before you hop into bed? And, oh my gosh, the number of chapters with spice in them was nothing like I have ever seen before. I’m sorry that I didn’t keep track of which chapters were as spicy as my mama’s salsa, but I’ll give the author credit where credit is due; at least it was past the 50% mark. 👏🏼
Overall, this was a sweet story, and I recommend it if you are into cowboys, the sunshine x grumpy trope, and some cute romance.

❗Content Warnings❗ Loss of a loved one & a little bit of violence and blood. Swearing: Yes Spice: Yes (🌶🌶🌶🌶/5)
It was a cute romance, a grumpy cowboy and a small town romance will always draw me in.
Rory is a wellness and positivity influencer, who after being cheated on decides to escape to Colorado, to a ranch her late great-aunt left her. Struggling to find her inspiration, she thinks being on the ranch and fixing it up to sell, will help her find it again. What she doesn't expect is to butt heads with the head rancher, who doesn't exactly like her. Wyatt loves the ranch and struggles with the thought of having to leave. But they will discover they have more in common than they thought when Rory comes up with a plan that will give both of them what they want. A plan that will have them working together, which will make it hard for them to deny their attraction for long.
While I did find the romance amazing at times, I also found it lacking. I wish we got more banter, their dislike of each other seemed to fizzle out far too quickly and their connection did seem forced at times. That conflict at the end was honestly too much and completely unnecessary, it took away from the story. I really don't understand why authors do this, it ruins the story when they introduce drama just for the sake of it.
I also didn't expect so much motivational speaking and quotes, I didn't really like that, but that's a me problem.
All in all, I genuinely liked the small town vibe and Wyatt's friends and sister. I'm really looking forward to reading their stories, especially if Cherry is going to end up with who I think she will. Can't wait to find out..
*Thank you to Netgalley and to HarperCollins UK for providing me with an ARC.*
This was boring & predictable. Also enemies to lovers my arse, it’s a very mild dislike- authors need to stop marketing their books with this trope if they’re not even going to put any effort into actually doing it.. it only pisses off readers which then leads to bad reviews.
I devoured this debut novel by 𝐄𝐦𝐦𝐚 𝐋𝐮𝐜𝐲! This book had everything needed for great a sweet and spicy romance.
Wyatt is a broody man who is content managing Sunset Ranch. When the owner of the ranch passes away and leaves it to her British niece, Wyatt does not take it well.
Aurora is a positivity and wellness influencer that is struggling to find her happiness after her boyfriend cheated on her and her aunt passe. She travels to Willow Ridge to settle her aunt’s affairs and sell Sunset Ranch. The last thing she expected was a grumpy rancher who hates her on the spot.
Aurora was such a great FMC. She was very relatable. Although she built her career on positivity, she has to evolve her mindset into understanding that it’s okay to express other emotions. Wyatt was the perfect grump! He resisted Aurora’s pull, but he definitely fell first! They are so different but they were exactly what the other was missing.
The spice in this book was great! There’s a scene with a nifty use of some horse reins and it was SCALDING. 🥵
All of the side characters were great and I hope they all get books! I am especially excited about Cherry’s book!
The vision board at the end of this book filled my heart with so much freaking happiness! The sweetness was next level!
If you love grumpy x sunshine stories with broody ranchers and a successful strong female lead, go add 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞, 𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐡, 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞 to your TBR today! Releasing July 5th!
This was such an easy read! A classic grump x sunshine with the twist of city girl and country boy thrown in. I mostly listened to this one, and one challenge I had were the narrators. The male voice was a little much for me- not the best twangy accent, and the female had a wonderful British accent but the male drawl was off. With that being said, I liked this story! It was a nice intro to our ranch and all the characters there. I liked Rory- she was on the hunt for inspiration and needed to build up her confidence after how her ex treated her. And then we have Wyatt who felt like a let down for his parents and ex since he wanted to go the rancher route in life instead of being a sellout lawyer. These two were great! They had great chemistry, and they did such a great job pushing each other's buttons. I liked the pacing and buildup, and how they started off as *enemies* but slowly to partners in a business. I liked how much they supported each other and though they did push buttons it was because they both knew that they were so much more. They helped each other get out of their internal dialogue rutt. I liked how they slowly opened up more and more. The spice was glorious- hello rope play in the barn! The setting was great, and who doesn't love an HEA.
Rory has found herself in the middle of nowhere USA helping to get her aunt's ranch ready to sell. She also is trying to find her center again after the breakup with her now ex. She needs inspiration which she surprisingly starts to find at the ranch. The biggest pain in her side though is Wyatt- her main ranch hand and number one enemy. He is rude to her and has already formed an opinion but that's ok she isn't going to be here long term. But then after a night where everything hits her, Wyatt surprises her by cheering her up. Listening to her. Maybe he isn't as bad as she originally thought. Maybe he could be the right person for what she is now thinking she wants to do- make this place a wellness ranch. She is beyond excited when he says yes he will help her. Things seem to be shifting with them. Now they are exploring the ranch together. He is helping her learn how to ride and she realizes that she LIKES spending time with him. She wants MORE with him. But that could complicate everything- they are business partners. But she is only human and so they are doing this now. They are exploring each other and she finds herself smiling and laughing and working towards her goal with Wyatt by her side. Just when she thinks all is well though both of their pasts come in to the picture to test their relationship. She finds herself questioning a lot but knowing in her heart how she feels. She just hopes he is on the same page!
Wyatt is angry. He thought he had a plan. A strategy. That all of his hard work would pay off but now everything is up in the air. And there is a woman here who knows nothing about ranching telling everyone what to do so she can up and sell it. This is all he knows. This is what he loves. Oh and did he mention that the woman, Rory, is beautiful. She makes him so angry but also distracts him. He likes seeing her temper flare. But then he realizes she has more going on then she has let on. He helps her one night through that and now their relationship seems different. They are talking and reaching out and checking in. And then she throws the curve ball of asking if he would want to be business partners with her- she wants to make this place a wellness ranch. And her energy about it is contagious. So of course he says yes. All the while reminding himself that engaging in anything besides friendship with her would be a bad idea. But he feels lighter around her. Happier. He is smiling and looking forward to seeing what crazy plans she has concocted for the day. He finds himself inspired by all that she is accomplishing. So he goes for it- he goes for her what he wants. And he feels like a new man. He has never felt that way before. Though they aren't labeling anything, it just all feels natural. Like they have been doing this for years. And just when he is ready to confess all that he hopes to have with her, his ex tricks him and her ex shows up. He hopes that what they have is enough. That HE is enough for her because she is all he wants at this point.
I don't know if I would recommend the audio version of this book, but I did enjoy the story! Like I said, I liked the pacing and the chemistry between the characters. I liked the spice too of course. It is always so fun to watch the grump shed his layers and show his inner softness for the right person- Wyatt was SO gooey in the middle once he started opening up. I also loved when Rory defended him with his family- go Rory! I am looking forward to Duke and Cherry- nothing beats a brother's best friend- am I right??
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
As my first contemporary cowboy romance, there were things I loved about this book: the scenery, life on a ranch, small town living. But as an enemies-to-lovers and sunshine/grumpy trope, I wish we would have seen more development. The former was quickly resolved, it was more of a “getting off on the wrong foot” situation. The latter was more telling than showing. The story felt very reminiscent of hundreds of other small town novels. However, I did enjoy though was how both Rory and Wyatt encouraged each other and helped each other grow, separately and together.
I received an advanced copy through Netgalley in return for an honest review.
I really wanted to love this book but I was left a little disappointed 🥲 looking back, I should’ve DNF’d but I forced myself to finish this one🤷🏻♀️
We all know there is lots of cowboy romances out there, but not many mix in a wellness influencer, so when I seen this book advertised I ran straight to sign up however it wasn’t what I expected. This was marketed as “enemies to lovers” but I feel this was the wrong trope to include as there was literally nothing for them to be enemies over. I also feel the author could’ve done a lot more research, especially around the horses and cowboy aspect.
I think one of the main things I couldn’t connect with was the wellness aspect. There was a little bit too much of this for me, such as horoscope talk, sage, making the ranchers do morning yoga etc. I also found it hard to connect with Aurora. I found both her and Wyatt immature and just couldn’t like them 🙈
This book was pretty inclusive with a variety of characters (I especially liked Cherry!) but at times the dialogue didn’t make sense with the American characters using British manner. The timeline also felt a little off and unclear for me. I felt it a little unrealistic the amount of things they got done in such a short time frame, as well as develop a relationship.
I’m not a massive fan of third act conflict and I felt it wasn’t very necessary. It came so late it the story that it gave me whiplash a little bit. If this happened a little earlier, and there was more communication around it I could’ve been okay with what happened.
Overall, I would definitely say to give this book a go if it sounds like your sort of thing, however for me, the amount of wellness talk (yoga, meditation etc) and the lack of connection with the characters took me out the story a lot.
I want to thank Lovenotes PR and Emma for the early arc copy for this book!

💌 “I’ve never really let myself dream too far into the future, unsure if forever even exists. But if there is such a thing as forever in this crazy world, then I know that it has to be you.”
IMAGINE;;;;;
you’re a wellness influencer and your great aunt just died😔 you went home from funeral only to catch your boyfriend with another girl😡 don’t worry your aunt left her ranch to you so you can escape there😜 but there’s someone in the ranch😦 a man- a handsome and very grumpy man😮💨your plan was to sell the ranch but how about you turn it into a wellness retreat👀 with the help of handsome but grumpy rancher🤭 and you know what, he’s not so grumpy around you anymore😋 could he be…falling in love with you?😳 and you…you love him too, right?😍(bonus: the man makes a vision board and puts you on the center)
an amazing debut!! definitely adding this author to my list to continue reading her other books, especially this series🤭
💌 “All those difficult decisions and wrong turns, all those losses and broken hearts, were just guiding me to where I am now. To home. And to you, Aurora.”
💌 “The moment you set foot on Sunset Ranch, I started seeing in colours I’d never experienced before. You showed me how to let the light into my world, to start dreaming beyond the greys my life had been painted with. You showed me that I was worthy of having what I wanted, that I was worthy of being wanted. You showed me what love should be like.”
💌 “God, I would give anything to just have a fraction of your light grace my life.”
Cowboy romances are one of my top genres, and this one was sweet. Rory is an influencer who decides to escape to her great-aunt's ranch after a betrayal in her relationship. Soon, she meets a grumpy cowboy on the property who doesn't seem to like her. But once they amicably struck a deal, they find that maybe opposites do attract....
I will always sprint to read a cowboy romance, and this one was okay. It did take me a little while to get into the story. I personally didn't feel they had the strongest chemistry. I wanted more tension and banter between the characters. But I did like the tender side of their own personal growth throughout. I also thought the side characters were memorable, definitely would be open to read their story. Overall I give this book 3/5 stars.
I want to thank Netgalley, Avon and Harper Voyager | Avon a, and Emma Lucy for the opportunity to read this book. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.
DNF @ 14% I’m in the minority, I think when it comes to not really liking enemies to lovers so it’s no surprise I didn’t vibe with this one. Wyatt just seems like an asshole, misplacing his anger. Like he’s getting enjoyment out of getting under the h’s skin which could be cute if it was done in a teasing way or banter but I didn’t see that. 🤷🏻♀️
Totally not my jam but can definitely see how fans of enemies to lovers would enjoy it. ~
DNF: 50% I did not live or love this book. It felt like a chore to pick up and I can't tell if it was just so boring and so samey to other small town books or me in a book slump.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and honestly wanted to round it up to 4 stars, but there were a few things that kept me at 3.5.
First off, I read it while also listening to the audiobook, and I would not recommend that route 😂. The narration just didn’t work for me, the voices especially pulled me out of the story. But by the time I realized it, I was already too far in and couldn’t stop listening.
That said, the story itself was really fun to follow. I loved the setup, the pacing kept me engaged and the characters were easy to root for. And Wyatt? Absolute cutie.
If you’re considering picking it up, I’d definitely recommend reading the physical/ebook version over (/without) the audio. But either way, it’s a sweet, enjoyable romance that was worth the read.
This was such a cute cowboy romance!! I loved the grumpy x sunshine dynamic, the themes of struggling with self worth and identity, being authentic and putting your own happiness on top of what people want for you… The tension was great and the chemistry between our main characters was there. I also loved Cherry, Wyatt’s sister, and I know she’s going to be the main female character of the next book and I am so excited!
Thank you to Love Notes PR and Emma Lucy for letting me read the arc of this book!!
It was such a cute and funny small town cowboy romance. I really liked Aurora and Wyatt's dynamic & chemistry, the only less positive aspect i have to point out about this book is the fact some physical descriptions of the the characters sometimes seemed a bit too repetitive, for example: the reminder of aurora's height, her hair color and wyatt's eyes.
But still, I want to keep reading this series, mainly because i'm really curious about the rest of Wyatt's friends and I can feel a certain vibe going on.
Live, Ranch, Love is such a lovely debut. I devoured this in a day (during exam season, send help) and I loved it. I adored the other characters that were introduced to us and I can't wait for their books.
The only reason this did not get a 5 star rating, is because I couldn't for the life of me connect with Wyatt (tbh he annoyed me sometimes). The rest of the story more than made up for it though!
The vibes: - Grumpy x Sunshine - Spice!!! - Small town - Finding yourself - ...
Thanks to LoveNotesPR and the lovely Emma Lucy for granting me the chance to read this as an arc 💐✨
I really try to give grace when I read an authors debut book.
There was so much promise here. Cowboy x Wellness Influencer Grumpy x sunshine Small town Enemies to lovers ish
It just fell flat for me. I skimmed most of the book. I need dialogue and less inner monologue that’s kinda of repetitive. It didn’t have anything that wowed or stood out from other books of similar vibes. I wish we saw more of Wyatt friends maybe.
There was a lot that occurred there at the end tho…
‘Live, Ranch, Love’ by Emma Lucy was unusual, yet inviting. You can’t help but to want to continue, to see what comes next. This story depicts a girl and a guy, each from distinct backgrounds, who you wouldn’t typically find attracted to one another, yet they are inexplicably drawn together. Despite the numerous obstacles that seem to be orchestrated by the universe, these characters are intertwined for seemingly profound reasons. This story plot shows strong spiritual and self-help undertones, within both characters. They both are undergoing their own life transformations. They are both struggling with their own issues, but wish to change. Though they are both initially resistant to changing, yet they do gradually open up to each other. Together, they embark on a journey of self-improvement, not just for the sake of their relationship, but for their own personal growth and a brighter future ahead. Also, they both help each other pursue their hopes and dreams- to pursue the life that will make each of them happy. They fit into each other’s lives so well, and see that early-on. - This was a thoughtful read, but one thing that absolutely ticks me off in books, is when there is a British author, who does NOT understand how Americans speak. The main female character (Rory) is British, and the main male character (Wyatt) is American. Rory clearly talks in very British terms, yet Wyatt is constantly saying phrases that sound like conversations British people would have. Some of what he says, absolutely would never come out of an American’s mouth, let alone a COWBOY from COLORADO (which is what he is). Truly, this irritates me to my core. However, everything else I could tell was very thoughtful and meaningfully written. Another dislike I had was that when Aurora and Wyatt finally romantically linked up, there was like three following chapters of pure s*x. This was wholly unnecessary, and did not make sense. Otherwise, a quick read.
This SHOULD have been right up my alley with the small-town/cowboy kick I've been on, but I just wasn't feeling it.
Rory, a wellness influencer, inherits her aunt's ranch, moving there with the intention to sell it. Wyatt, the head rancher, doesn't want his home sold out from underneath him. They strike a deal, working together to turn it into a wellness retreat instead of selling it, getting closer in the process.
The humor was mostly cute and I actually felt like the conflict at the end was just the right amount of dramatic. Unfortunately, that's where my enjoyment ended. The characters and their chemistry just didn't land with me. Wyatt was alright, but I rolled my eyes at just about everything Rory said or thought. I didn't understand why they ended up liking each other.
The narration was probably what hurt the most for this book. The narrator for the FMC was fine until she had to speak for the MMC. As soon as she was doing his dialogue, I was cringing. The attempts at a southern accent were hard to listen to. It probably would have been okay if she only tried to affect a more general American accent. This was compounded by the narrator for the MMC not affecting a southern accent (or at least keeping it super mild) himself, so her doing it was extra unnecessary.
Thank you NetGalley and HarperAudio Adult for providing me with this ALC.
