For a young angel, Raphael is enthusiastic, ambitious, and very keen to get involved with things on Earth. Given an unexpected opportunity, she manages to wreak havoc with the weather. When she's given an even more unexpected second chance, she discovers something very unpleasant on a Welsh mountainside. Soon her life of cheerful interference and well-meaning duty is turned upside down as she is swept up in a cosmic struggle—which the power of evil appears to be winning. In a story that is alternately humorous and gripping, Raphael's life spins out of control while those who could prevent it seem willing to let it happen.
Interesting take on the biblical war; however, I did not like that the divinity of the Father and Son for the plot were manifested to that of a mistake. I was also disappointed that no background information was given for the origin of new angel recruits. Where did they come from, if not from earth???
