If you loved The Witching Hour’s cursed bloodlines, The Magicians’ dangerous power, and Charmed’s witch-born rebellion… welcome to Forgotten, where memory is a weapon, love won’t let go, and evil has a long memory.
Four centuries ago, Dela burned Hallowvale clean. The coven she once called family had fallen to a darkness so consuming that the only way to destroy it was to destroy them too. The world moved on, believing the evil dead and its witch savior gone with it.
But Dela never died. Her rare gift of regeneration means she heals from every wound, lives through every age, and carries the memory of what she destroyed. Now, that same corruption is spreading again — and someone has brought back what she buried.
To stop it, Dela must return to the ruins of her past and face the truth she left in ashes. But when three blood-bound brothers arrive, each claiming to protect her, she realizes the fight ahead isn’t only for survival — it’s for her heart, her magic, and the fragile line between vengeance and redemption.
Where immortality comes with a cost, love cuts deepest of all, and some evils never stay dead.
C.M. Adams writes dark romance and speculative fiction for readers who crave intense worlds, unapologetic heroines, and love stories forged in fire. Her novels blend danger, desire, and high-stakes survival — whether in the chaos of a zombie apocalypse, the iron grip of a dystopian regime, or the treacherous courts of magic and power.
Her heroines fight, bleed, and sometimes burn, but they never bow. Her love interests are morally grey, fiercely protective, and just dangerous enough to keep you up all night turning pages.
Her books are published first on Amazon — available in Kindle Unlimited, eBook, paperback, and hardback — and are also available on Barnes & Noble, as well as through Gumroad, Payhip, IngramSpark, and directly on her website for the ultimate reader experience.
When she’s not building new worlds or breaking hearts on the page, C.M. Adams connects with readers on Facebook and Instagram, sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses, character art, and upcoming release news.
Audiobook Review Forgotten is a standout audiobook thanks to its compelling characterizations. Dela is a demanding role—an immortal witch carrying centuries of grief and a unique regenerative gift—and the narrator captures her resilience and vulnerability with great emotional nuance. The chemistry between the leads is the highlight of the listen; the protective loyalty and romantic tension of the three blood-bound brothers are brought to life in a way that makes the "fated-mate" tropes feel both earned and urgent. The audio format perfectly enhances the rich, moody atmosphere of Hallowvale. From the start, the mystery of the "creeping corruption" and the high-stakes threat of resurfacing enemies keep the listener engaged. While the world-building occasionally relies on "talky" exposition—which can feel a bit dense in spoken format—the narrator’s steady pacing helps bridge these gaps. Despite a few minor editing slips that are more noticeable in audio, this is a rewarding listen for those who love secret worlds and ancient power. It is an intense, fate-touched story that balances magical action with deep romantic heart. If you are looking for a paranormal romance with high emotional stakes and a heroine who refuses to break, this production is an excellent use of a credit.
Forgotten hooked me from page one. Dela is an unforgettable heroine, an immortal witch with a regenerative gift, carrying centuries of grief and responsibility on her shoulders after a massacre that saved the world but destroyed her own life. Watching her navigate trauma, loyalty, and the weight of everything she’s lived through made her one of the most compelling paranormal leads I’ve read in a while.
The world-building is rich and atmospheric. Hallowvale feels both ruined and alive, humming with the sense that old evil never really dies, it only sleeps. When corruption begins to creep back, the tension ramps steadily toward a magical and emotional confrontation.
I especially loved the dynamic with the three blood-bound brothers, equal parts protectors, rivals, and emotional catalysts. The loyalty, romantic tension, and centuries-deep connections between them and Dela add so much heart to the story.
It’s witchy, intense, emotional, and full of fate-touched romance. If you enjoy stories with immortal tragedy, ancient power, and a heroine who refuses to break, this is absolutely worth the read. I’m already looking forward to book two.
Long ago, Dela burned her entire coven to stop a darkness that had already taken them. For four centuries, everyone thought she died with the threat she destroyed. But Dela survived, thanks to her rare gift of regeneration, healing from every wound and carrying the weight of her loss. Now, that same ancient evil has returned, brought back by someone who should have left it alone. Forced to revisit the ruins of her past, Dela meets three blood-bound brothers who claim they are there to protect her, linking her fate to theirs in unexpected ways. As old magic awakens, new bonds form, and hidden truths come to light, Dela must face what it means to be immortal, the risks of love, and the fact that some evils never truly disappear.
I really enjoyed this story. The pacing dipped in a couple spots and there were a few tiny hiccups here and there, but overall? Totally worth the read. I had a great time with it.
This story has some really interesting elements, and how they all melded together was interesting - but I didn't feel like I could get immersed in the world enough. I got a bit of whiplash with the FMC's emotions and the story-flow, like we hit all the high points but the connection was a bit lacking for my preference.
One question - in this world, when you find your mate, is that kind of it? Like you just automatically consent to ... everything?
The narration was at a great pace, a little mic issue in the beginning. Shannon Webber's young voice sometimes had me forgetting that the FMC is 300+. She didn't do voices for the characters (totally fine by me), but it made it a little trickier for passages where there's a lot of participants in a conversation (I pulled the text up on KU a few times to follow along).

Forgotten delivers exactly what a paranormal-romance starter should: a driven witch on the run, old enemies resurfacing, and a tangle of “fated-mate” tension that keeps the pages turning. Dela’s mix of strength and vulnerability works, and the action/romance balance feels satisfying. On the flip side, world-building often arrives via talky exposition, a few editing slips pull you out, and some major happenings are told rather than shown. The ending leans into the sequel. Overall, an entertaining and emotionally charged read with plenty of witchy flair. Solid 4★—I’ll continue the series, hoping for tighter editing and deeper on-page stakes.
I have always been drawn to stories about witches, magic, and secret worlds. This book was such a great read for me! It started out strong and kept me reading all the way until the end. The mix of mystery, witchcraft, and small-town secrets was exactly what I was hoping for. Especially around this time of the year.
I really liked how the characters felt real and how the story had that slightly dark, atmospheric vibe that fits the witchy theme perfectly. It’s one of those books that makes you want to light a candle and just get lost in the world the author created.
Can’t wait to read the next witchy book in the series.
