Charles Louis Fontenay was an American journalist and science fiction writer.
He wrote science fiction novels and short stories. His non-fiction includes the biography of prominent New Deal era politician Estes Kefauver.
Mr. Fontenay served as editor of the Nashville Tennessean, among other newspapers, worked with the Associated Press and Gannett News Service. He retired to St. Petersburg, Florida where he continued to write science fiction until shortly before his death.
Yuck.. I bet one would think twice before eating his steak, after reading this story.. Horrid, yet true. It seems the author portrayed history as a sci-fi.
🖍️ Disqualified was a strange short story, with an ending that is a weird shock. I plan to re-read it another time to see if it makes more sense to me.
If Saranta wished to qualify as one who loved his fellow man, he should have known that often the most secretive things are the most obvious. ,/i>
📙Published in If Worlds of Science Fiction, September 1954.
*•̩̩͙ *How I came across this book: It was in my stack of books to read.
Another will written fantasy Sci-Fi adventure thriller short story by Charles Louis Fontenay about a planet in space and why it is not available. I would recommend this novella to readers looking for a quick read. Enjoy the adventure of books. 🏡🔰⏰😀 2022
Very short science fiction story with a nice twist. The beginning setup is the same as in Frank Herbert's Godmakers: the highly advanced human civilization is encountering new (less-advanced) civilizations and trying to figure out to what extent they should share their technology.
Available from Audible. Sci-Fi Shorts, V.1 narrated by Felbrigg Napoleon Herriot. A very short story with a twist at the end that was easy to figure out. A colony on a planet lacking resources requests help from visitors from another planet who are there to assess their worthiness for aid.
