The Book of Phoenix #3

The Space Within

Rate this book
When Darkness threatens, what matters most lies in The Space Within

Completing a mission that reunites Guardian Twin Flames turns devastating when the Book of Phoenix throws Leni and Brock into a Dark world, leaving Jeric and Asia behind. They count on their other halves to rescue them, but when that doesn’t happen, they must fight through the Darkness and find a Gate that will take them home.

Except all of Earth’s Gates are sealed.

Enyxa, ruler of Darkness, and her horde of Dark souls storm the Gates to push their way through to Earth. While Leni and Brock fight Enyxa on their side, Jeric and Asia must figure out how to save their Twin Flames without jeopardizing all of Earth’s souls. Through it all—and with a little help from Enyxa—Brock and Asia begin questioning their relationship and whether they’re truly meant to be together…or if they’re two Lost souls forced to become one.

If the Broken dyads don’t find each other fast, they’ll be lost to the Dark forever. But to reunite means choosing themselves over all of Earth’s souls. Can Jeric make that decision? And will Brock and Asia find the love they both desperately crave? Or are they all doomed to perpetual Darkness?

Discover how it all ends in The Space Within, the explosive conclusion to The Book of Phoenix trilogy.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

What a fantastic ending to a great series! Kristie was writing this series at the same time as writing The Soul Savers series. When I received her newsletter announcing she was going to complete books 2 and 3 of this series before the last two of the Soul Savers series (which I was already reading), I was a little bummed. But fellow readers, I’m SOOO glad that she did!!! This 3rd and last book of the Book of Phoenix series was everything I wanted it to be, definitely on the same level as the first book.

The Space Between (book 1) gave us Leni and Jeric, The Space Beyond (book 2) gave us more Leni and Jeric and introduced us to a world of new characters, including Bex, Asia, and Brock. Well, The Space Within gives us the full story of Asia and Brock, and I’m not sure they weren’t my favorite (Until Jeric narrates, and then I’m all about Jeric.). This book also has a crossover section with some of the characters from Kristie’s Soul Saver series, which I LOVED!!! I can’t wait to read the last two books in that series in the near future!!

This is a trilogy about love and how love conquers all. It is about purpose, as Jeric says, “…without purpose, there’s not much to life at all”. It’s about fighting for the one you love…Brock to Asia, “In fact, I’ll probably be there anyway because I’m a fighter, and I’ll fight for you. That’s who I am. I’ll do whatever it takes”. This book made me sad in places, but it made me read with anticipation, smiling and laughing in places. I really loved the series. I’m sad to see it end, but I loved the way it ended. And even though I know it was the last book, I felt Kristie left an opening to write more if she ever chooses to do so.

I highly recommend this series for anyone who loves NA paranormal action/romance. It has a couple of steamy scenes, but nothing too intense…just a really great reading experience.

I could not wait for this book to be released and Kristie Cook did not disappoint. As I started reading I was pulled back into their world.I made it halfway and could NOT put the book down. Stayed up way too late last night just to finish it and am tired today but it was oh so worth it!! There was a moment I almost leaped out of my chair when I read it.I won't go any further because I won't post spoilers but OMG!!! I LOVED IT!!! I highly recommend this book and series! She is an amazing author and I cannot wait to see what she comes up with next!!!

I always love Kristie's work, and this book is just as amazing as the rest, if not better. My heart has been on a loop-the-loop rollercoaster for the whole 'Book Of Phoenix' series.
I loved the cameo appearance ;)

I'm definitely sad to see the back of this series :(

This book was awesome. The author put some nice surprises in there if you have read her other books. I loved learning about Brock and Asia's story the most. I would love to see what happens with Enyxa and her half as well as Ty's story.

My kind of book.....

Leni, Bex and Brock have traveled to another realm to find Bex's flame. Enyxa had torn twin flames apart for centuries, sometimes taking the other half to a dark realm to ensure they stayed separated. But Leni is the light and she guides Bex and Brock to find him. She mistakenly left behind Asia and Jeric. It's impossible for twin flames to survive not going dark without their other half. What will happen??

The fight happens. The gates have been closed. How will the four return to this earth and save it from the dark shadows??
You must read to find out. It's a great ending to a fascinating story. Love the characters.

Read on my friends.

What an awesome trilogy. Kristie has outdone herself again with this third book in the series. The fact that the main characters are torn apart and have to work exceptionally hard to find each other again whilst fighting against the darkness is rivetting. Once you start you just can't stop and you need some time set aside to read this book because you won't want to put it down until the very end and then there are the twists and turns that have you hoping and praying that things don't go awry. Fantastic series just like the Soul Savers. Superb!

Fantastic ending

So happy we got Asia and brocks story I’m this book although it was a bit gut wrenching but it was so good a fantastic end to this trilogy and left so that there can be a spin off if Kristie chooses to do one which I’m hoping for I’d love Tys story too but then I’m quite greedy lol definitely an author who I’ll look out for now for new releases tho I don’t know why I waited this long to read these books considering I read and loved the souls savers series years ago “shakes head” !

Great series. Loved the brief crossover with some Soul Savior series characters (don't worry if you haven't read that series yet, you won't be lost). Kristie has such an imagination! Is it a romance, sci-fi, or fantasy--it's all three. Enjoy!

The Space Within*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review
*If you've not read the first two books in this series, prepare for spoilers...

The Space Within by Kristie Cook is the final story in the Book of Phoenix Trilogy that follows three dyads (couples) or rather, Twin Flames, who struggle to both understand their fates and accept their duties as guardians of the gates of earth. While the series begins focusing on Jeric and Leni, the leaders of the Phoenix and Sacred Seven Twin Flames, The Space Within expands to help understand the lives of all three dyads that have survived the wrath of Enyxa, the ruler of darkness who is hell-bent on destroying them and all that they stand for.

The Space Within begins when two of the dyads have been separated while trying to unite a third, Bex and Hayden, after a terrible tragedy. As with the first two books in the series, Cook gives a glimpse into the past so we can understand what they have become and why.

In this book, Jeric and Leni spend most of the story apart. This was a tough pill for me to swallow because I fell in love with them in the first two books. I was hoping to see more of the dynamic chemistry between these two, but instead they were forced apart. Though I still feel they are MFEO, I would have been much happier had they been together. But as with any separation, it made the heart grow fonder for these Twin Flames. I understand why Cook chose to do this—it was essential in their growth as both individuals and as a couple. As leaders of the Phoenix, Jeric and Leni both had to learn how to trust their instincts and each other and in the end, Jeric grew into the leader he was destined to become. I LOVE Jeric, BTW!

If I were to choose which dyad The Space Within belonged to, it would be Brock and Asia. We watch them struggle from their rocky beginning but by the end, they discover much about themselves and are stronger for it, both individually and as a couple.

Finally, Bex finds her true Twin Flame, though I feel Bex and Hayden’s is the least developed relationship of the three. We get to know Bex throughout all three stories, but her HEA comes so late that I almost felt cruelly teased. Hayden was probably one of the flattest characters also, but it was realistic because of the nature of his life, having had no exposure to our society and its quirks, up until that point. We get a taste of how things could have been for these two toward the end, but it comes so little and late that I felt a bit deprived. I would love to see a novella or something, giving me more of their story…(wink).

The supporting cast was awesome! I loved Mat and Kel, and how Cook connected their story as a gay couple. The way she explains their relationship was a wonderful comment on the subject. Bravo! I also loved the villain, Enyxa. I felt all along she had something she was hiding, and I commend Kristie for creating such an evil villain that I still hoped would come to the light. Even bad guys deserve a happily ever after…except for Mason, of course. And thanks to Brock and Asia’s story, another guardian came out of the woodwork to prove that while the dyads felt left to their own devices, they were never truly alone—a little Hope goes a long way.

The Space Within was one of the few books I’ve read that actually made me cry. I cried. The climax was beautifully written, and the last page had me in tears. If I wasn’t hooked on Kristie Cook’s writing before, she certainly had me at the Epilogue.

I completely adored this entire series. Cook took multiple viewpoints and was able to weave past and present into the story without disrupting the pacing. It was a creative, complicated premise, which she fleshed out masterfully. While I enjoyed the first two books more than the final story (only because I desperately missed Jeric and Leni together as an MFEO pick), I still loved this novel and expect Cook's upcoming work to be on my TBR list for years to come.

Kristie Cook has absolutely outdone herself. The final Book of Phoenix, “The Space Within” is one of the most breathtaking, edge of your seat stories, mixed in with hope, love, and laughter. I knew this would be a showstopper but I was not prepared to be engulfed in a world of such wonder.
The Space Within is a story of epic proportions. There are many surprises, with an understanding that love and faith will pull us through. I was enthralled by the twists the characters went through and how to get back to the life they knew and do what needed to be done with faith always on their side. This book will have you laughing through tears. Hoping everyone will be safe and where they should be soon. I was not prepared for the new situations that came to light as well as the decisions that would entail possible heart wrenching results.
I could not put this book down. From the very first page I was captured. It had me in its grip until the final word was read. This is a must read. This is a trilogy is one you will not want to miss. The feeling you get with each character is amazing to me. Kristie Cook is a wonderful story teller. This is some of her best work.

The third book in Kristie Cook's series The Book of Phoenix is utterly amazing. From the start you are drawn into the stories of three of the Sacred Seven Dyads and fall more in love with each character. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, hoping that those separated from their twin flames would finally be reunited. But no, each time I thought the suspense was over and my racing heart would get a break, another fast paced action scene would occur and my heart would sprint again, then ache with the utter loss that the characters were feeling. I fell in love with Brock and Asia's story, and yearned for more, flipping through the pages throughout the days and nights. Kristie Cook has outdone herself! I loved it from the beginning summary to the end, FANTASTIC!! The love I felt after reading this book was overwhelming. Will the guardians be able to hold the gate, will Brock And Leni be reunited with Asia and Jeric or stay in the dark worlds, will Bex finally find peace in her other half...only you can find out in The Space Within.

Omg!!! Let me start off by saying this 3rd and final book is awesome! It will take you through so many loops. I loved Brock and Asia in this book - and finding out their story. It was heartbreaking. Jeric and Leni are freaking awesome as always.
I love the addition of Bex and Hayden! Bex is awesome. I will warn you this book will take you cry, freak out, and fall in love.
Leni, Brock, Hayden and Bex are trapped in another world and no one knows it they will make it back.
With all the craziness going on Jeric and Asia are frantic to get their loved ones back before they are all lost to the darkness.
Kristie has truly done it again and there are some pretty good surprises for everyone. I love this book and series.

I just finished reading, and I am blown away! This book is a perfect ending to an amazing story! It had so much action and adventure that I could not put it down. I really loved getting a glimpse into Asia and Brock's history and seeing what they have been through. And we even got a surprise cameo from our favorite Soul Savers characters! That was so cool! This book was jam packed with plot, and was written beautifully. Everything was explained and fit nicely with the story. I know this is the last book, but I really hope there are a couple of spin-off books so I can see what happens with a few of the other characters and if they find what they are searching for. I'm not gonna spoil you, but when you read it you will know what I'm talking about! Overall, spectacular book and series!!

I was addicted to this story! The characters, the love, the hope, all of it! Kristie Cook has truly outdone herself. This is supposed to be the last installment of this trilogy, but I hope we aren't saying goodbye to these wonderfully written characters just yet. The story will keep you on your toes the whole time while Leni and Brock fight to get back to Jeric and Asia and while Bex and Hayden hopefully have enough time to get to the gate and be forged. An amazing story with so much to take away with you when you're done reading it. A must read for all who believe in true love and soul mates!

Enyxa has Leni, Bex, Nathan and Brook trapped in an alternate universe ruled by darkness and they need to find a way home. Even though they find several portals, they keep finding themselves trapped in darkness. To make matters worse, Enyxa is making them relive the tragedy of Brook and Asia's past. She is throwing every bad memory they have at them to turn them dark. They have to hang on because they know that if they turn dark, so will their Twin Flames. Jeric and Asia have to find a way bring them back without letting Enyxa, her dark creatures and darkness take over Earth. Will they be able to make the Book of Phoenix work for them?

Kristie Cook never disappoints! In this 3rd story of The Book of Phoenix, as per this author's way of writing, there are many ups, downs, curves, and fast paced plot. Combine that with Kristie's own brand of super sexy scenes and you have a story you can't put down! Although there are some who call this the last of the series, with the ending of The Space Within, I can see more in the future. At least I hope so! :) Get this book and make it a priority to read. You will not be disappointed! Kristie Cook

I love how all the characters have their own distinct voices. In all honesty, I only got the series because I wanted something easy to get through, something that wasn't going to be demanding. I was hooked, and I had to get to the end. I kind of want to read it again already. I only just finished the trilogy, and already I want to re-read.
