Autumn Rising is the third novel in The Spirit Shifters series and as it picks up from where it left us in Saving Autumn, the second in the series, I would highly recommend reading the previous two before reading this one.
Saving Autumn left us on a bit of a cliff hanger with the main characters all under threat from the government.
Autumn is being held prisoner in a secure unit whilst scientists are trying to uncover the power of her blood. She has no clue of what is happening in the out side world and what has become of Blake and the other shifters. I could very much feel the frustration that she was feeling at being held against her will and having no knowledge of what was happening to the people that she cares about.
Unbeknown to Autumn, Blake and the other shifters are having major problems of their own.
Autumn Rising is very much a story of fighting for survival and standing up for what you believe in. The whole story is very fast paced and had me on the edge of my seat. Towards the end is quite an emotional roller coaster of a ride and certainly didn’t end how I expected it to.
Very intrigued to see what the future holds for Autumn now.
Many thanks to the author for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I received this as an arc from Marissa herself in exchange for an honest review. Chogun is meeting other shifters in a cabin in the woods. But it's not what he thinks. His cousin Tala has Autumn. She wants her blood. Now the government is after them too. They have taken Autumn. They need to fight back.........
Wow. OMG. Wow. Absolutely fantastic read. Marissa has done it again. I loved the story and the characters. Autumn and Blake are still my favourite characters. I love this series. It just gets better and better. Can't wait for next installment. This is a must read and I would highly recommend this book. Definitely worth more than 5 *.
All hell breaks loose when the shifters try to escape from the government soldiers.
Autumn is again in the hands of the government. Help for her escape comes from an enemy who has grown sick of the government's project. Many of the shifters held in the old cabin are injured or killed while trying to escape. Chogan escapes but has to leave Blake and Tala behind. He has to go to Blake's father to tell him the terrible news. He believes that Blake is dead. Autumn, people and shifters from the reservation unite to travel to Chicago to fight for their rights.
This book in this series will have you on an emotional roller coaster. Anger, fear, love, hate and sorrow. My heart is breaking and I have to start boom 4
This series is getting better and better. The shifters are now demonised by the media and by the government, who have begun rounding them up and holding them captive in a compound North of Chicago. The climate of fear is escalating and in the midst of all the chaos, Autumn is separated from them and taken to a secret facility where her blood can be used to create an army. We get to meet the psychopath running the Department that Calvin Thorne works for and during the course of this book, more is revealed about what the government is doing. People are forced into fighting, allegiances are tested, strained and sometimes broken. Some of the shifters are killed and we are left thinking that one of the man characters is dead. I finished this in one sitting as I really wanted to know what was going to happen, and I can't wait to get stuck into the next book.

Watch out for book four, ‘Autumn’s War’, out late 2014!
Wow this series has been a very good surprise read. I love it when an author takes a common characters and creates a different and interesting story. This was one great story line. Both likeable and unlikeable characters. Wonderful and crazy bad guys and a variety of personalities. I received this series free in exchange for an honest review. And already feel like reading it again to see what I missed the first time around.
After the cliffhanger ending of book 2, Saving Autumn, the non-stop action continues, keeping readers on the edge of their seat, frantically turning pages to keep up. Vivian Winters takes over as the villain of the piece, and what a nasty piece of work she is! Once again I have finished one of Marissa Farrar's books needing to read the next in the series to follow this gripping tale.
I really enjoyed this book, once again Marissa Farrar has hit the spot. I did find it very sad a one point, but I suppose these things have to happen. Can't wait for the next hook which Marissa told me will be out soon.
Really enjoy this book. Loved that Peter and Mao were happy but poor blake and autumnal upset about him. Michigan realises a few things and Autumn has help. Can't wait till end of year for next book
