This novel was much more action packed than its predecessors. Battles are waged, entire ways of life are defended, yet Pohler tactfully avoids the violence in this tale. I found myself caught up in the plight of the characters, trying to help them along, and keep them on the winning side, even when it seemed impossible. Pohler also kept me on my toes, guessing and racing forward to see what happens next. More than once I found myself exclaiming, I soooo did not see this coming. At the same time, Pohler stays true to the Greek myths while making them all her own. She also adds an extra emotional component to this tale. The emotional traumas of the past come forward and the healing begins. I appreciate how Pohler depicts this as an honest and ongoing effort. It makes this novel real & human yet sublimely god(dess) driven.

Although no new characters are introduced in this novel, the personalities of the characters continue to evolve based on their current circumstances. Even the oldest immortals adapt to their current circumstances. The contrast between the mortal and immortal personalities was both comical and enlightening. Pohler highlights not only the godly viewpoint, but also the disparity that Therese had to cross. The similarities between the two groups also become much more apparent in this instalment. Their hopes and fears collide into a single world.

As a whole, this story was informative, enlightening, and a pleasure to read. I laughed, I cried, I enjoyed. It’s a story that parents and teens alike will love.

As The Gatekeeper's Saga comes to a close, I find myself with mixed emotions. Yes, I was super excited to read The Gatekeeper's Promise because it seemed like forever before it was out, and yet, I'm so sad that it's over! This series is my favorite mythology series EVER!

In The Gatekeeper's Secret, we were left with the fact that Therese and Than were pregnant and having twins, as well as with the uncertain future of having them. When The Gatekeeper's Promise starts, it's action packed from the get go. As Therese and Than try to come to grips with the twins future, the battle begins, and with Gods and Goddess' going to war, the unexpected becomes the expected, and yet, still shocking!

I love how Eva didn't add any new characters but had the characters throughout the series grow and evolve instead. They become more mature as time goes on. Eva had the personalities of the mortal and immortal world collide and finally get along. There were so many times when I would say out loud, I DID NOT see that coming! I laughed, cried, yelled, cheered, and just generally went on a crazy emotional roller coaster ride. This series was GREAT from start to end and hopefully we will hear a reunion in the making at some point (hint hint)! I recommend this book to parents and kids alike as both will enjoy A LOT!

So overall I'm happy with the ending of this book. I would like to have seen than and therese find a way to still me gods and it kind of makes me mad that her friend jen is the one who will live forever. However, I can't be too mad as that would have been predictable and pretty cliche. I guess it's also a good thing because in the end everyone was able to get what they wanted and be happy. I would have also like to of seen a chapter at the end that would take place so many years in the future to see what happened to everyone and how the twins fulfilled their destiny, but maybe that is for another series? Hopefully Eva will be able to shed some light on that if she hasn't already :) however, overall I thought this was a great series and like I've said, I've learned so much about Greek mythology.

I'm sad that I'm finished!

Another beautifully written story. Such a unique storyline tying in the ancient myths of Greece.
In the saga finale Than and Therese have to decide what's best for their twins. Can they subject them to crazy lives of the Gods while still maintaining their humanity and fulfilling the prophecy? And how will Therese fulfill her godly duties and raise the children? She can't desegregate like Than can. If only he could be near his children without killing them.
As if things weren't complicated enough, Circe decides she's tired of hanging out below the radar and playing by the rules. And kidnapping Therese seems like the best way to get Death's attention in her ploy to take Olympus as her own.
Neither humans or immortals are safe. And some Gods, will never return to Olympus again.

The Gatekeeper's Promise by Eva Pohler is the 6th and final book in the Gatekeeper's Saga. I have been a huge fan of this series and I could not wait to read this final book. And trust me, it did not disappoint.
All of the characters that I have grown to know and love in this series were back. I feel like I'm reading about close friends since I'm emotionally invested in this series.
I don't want to give any spoilers but I can tell you that the way Ms. Pohler pulled everything together to come up with a concise, believable, and happy ending is amazing. The story flowed smoothly and moved quickly and there were several twists and turns that I wasn't expecting.
I really loved this book, and this series, and I definitely recommend it.

Talk about going out with a bang!

I can't believe this is the end to the Gatekeeper's Saga. I have fallen in love with Than and Therese over the series. The supporting cast of characters are phenomenal.

Each book in the series has kept me up and craving more. This one is packed with far more action than the rest, with gods battling, kidnapping, deception, stolen powers, and more. With all of the plot twists, you will be on the edge of your seat the whole time! If you like a happily ever after to a series, you will be quite pleased with this one.

I just can't believe the ride is over. Perhaps Eva will revisit the Greeks in modern times once again in the future and give us a peek at Than and Therese's twins as they grow? One can only hope. ;)

I love all of Eva Pohler's work and The Gatekeeper's Promise doesn't let you down!
From the first page until the end, I was thinking the story would go one way and she tricked me and it was even better than I thought!
The interweaving of the mortal and immortal desires are always well written.
I want to come and live with them, and be like them!
The action of the story is fast paced and written in a way that any teen or above can and should read it! This is a series that parents can share with their children and allow them to not only learn about the fiction side, but not worry they are filling their heads with junk!
While I am sad to see the series end, I am hopeful that there will be a spinoff!!
LOVE THIS SERIES!!

My favorite out of the series! I have been a big fan of the series, and love the story that has played out through the course of six books. Therese shines in Promise, as well as Than, Hip and Jen. I love Therese eased so easily into motherhood and her protectiveness over the babies was admirable . This book had the best monsters and so many action packed scenes, I was on the edge of my couch many times. I kept thinking, how is Eva going to wrap this all up in one book, but she succeeded flawlessly. I had the feelings of complete and warm happiness by the end. I love series like that. The twist at the end was perfect. I couldn't ask for a better ending to my favorite series.

Wow, I am so excited to be able to read "The Gatekeeper's Promise(Gatekeeper's Saga #6)" for free thanks to Goodreads First Reads and author Eva Pohler. But first I need to catch up with this awesome looking series. Any help Eva Pohler, lol?

You are just to good to me. "The Gatekeeper' Promise" arrived this afternoon and it felt like Christmas, I was super pleased. Can not wait to read it after I finish the others.

Your "Gatekeeper's Saga" is one that everyone should read. You have the gift of writing and I am just overjoyed to be able to have such adventures in the realm of Greek gods thanks to you!!!!!!!!!

Thanks so much Eva Pohler

This is the final book in the series and let me tell you I was enthralled with the story right from the start. There was so much that was going on in this book both with the main characters and the gods. Therese and Than are expecting their twins and there is still a "war" going on amongst the gods then to top it off, Jen is pulled into it.

I loved how the story progressed and how it ended, I just hope there is more to come (perhaps a spinoff with Hip and Jen) :)

Never a Dull Moment!!!

This was quite the adventure, and a great end to the saga! As in all the others it touched on serious issues, the mythology was a ton of fun, and everything was wrapped up quite nicely. It had some very emotional moments, but overall was one of the nest books I've ever read. If you've started this series, you absolutely can not miss this epic conclusion!!!

The adventure comes to an end in this book. The gods are at war and tough choices need to be made. The ending is not what you would expect by any means but you will not be disappointed! This was my favorite book of the series, but I love them all!

well this was my favourite of the series. There is a lot going on in this book and sometimes was a little over whelming. This book also made me want to cry the first of this series to do so. Well worth the read although I wish we had longer with the characters.

This was so good, it felt like it was over in 30 minutes. Time flies when you’re having fun. We get to meet the babies! It was action packed all the way and looks like Than and Therese have some things to work out as far as the twins are concerned. But how that will turn out, I don’t know. Seems we know but I have a feeling it’s not going to stay that way in the future. Sorry to be vague but I don’t want to spoil anything. I loved the description of the scenery when they were all stuck. Very good writing. And I now have a soft spot for Aeres (spelling)? I didn’t know he could have a heart. It’s just a small part in story but still lol. And I better understand why he is like he is. That makes sense being who he is and all lol. Jenn has a big part in this with Hypnos because we are building up to their big story. I really like how Pete is being written. I didn’t like him before but was sad and thought we wouldn’t see him anymore. But this is even better. He’s come a long way. How will Therese tell her aunt about the babies? Find out in this book. And OHHHHH I love Tizzy! Hope she has a book. You guys are gonna love her.

If you like audiobooks, this one is for you. I LOVE this narrator. She does all voices so well

While I really loved this series, I was actually disappointed with the ending. Therese and Than went through a LOT for her to become a god and she wasn’t just a natural at it, she was an asset to the other gods. Jen isn’t. I like Jen, but just, no. I’m a parent myself, so I understand the reasoning here, but children grow up and they lead their own lives independent of their parents, and that’s as it should be. I just feel like the author could have found another ending for them. Maybe the reason I’m feeling this way is because of how much I loved Therese and all the good she managed to accomplish as a goddess. I suppose that’s the mark of a good story though: That I care so very much about the characters!

I didn't hate it.

I didn't hate this book. Actually it was pretty entertaining. This series could have ended with the 4th book and Icould have been just a happy if not more. I just felt that this book was unnecessary. It took the story way out there and I felt like parts just didn't fit with the rest of the series. Plus the ending was just so lack luster. And left me really unsatisfied.

All good things must come to an end. I really enjoyed this series and the last two books I must say were my favorite. I thought the author did a great job ending things. Would love to see a small novella to see how the family is doing but other than that no complaints.
The narrator is okay. I believe I have gotten used to her by now but I do listen to it at a faster pace.
