What started out as an interesting read devolved into a mess. Character development was nonexistent and, while the overall plot was interesting, the author was not deft in its handling whatsoever. The prose at the beginning is what drew me in but it eventually became tedious. Eventually, I couldn't wait until I finished. No way will I be reading the rest of the books in the series and this author goes on my "never again" list.
