I came to this planet sixty some odd years ago. After exiting my mother's portal, the doctor slapped me around until I started breathing the oxygen. I'll admit, at the time, I had no idea what I was doing or where I was. Being an infant Human, I was completely reliant on the responsible actions of others. It was a time that I have largely forgotten.

I reside in Central Florida with the wife and children. After thirty years in engineering, my time is now spent chronicling the adventures of fictitious heroes. They are off-world, fighting the good fight. For me? I'm stuck here on this planet in this feeble existence that we Humans are all forced to endure.

So, I ask you this... do you wish to escape the bonds of this surly planet we call Earth? Are you looking for a bit more adventure than what the grocery store has to offer? Do you worry about being enslaved by alien androids or six-eyed alien goats with lasers? Pew, pew, pew!

Yeah, that's what I thought. Asking yourself those questions and getting back an answer is the first hurdle to cross in the race to get off this world. Sounds like you are ready to venture out, to put this place behind you.

So crack open one of my books. Take to the heavens and let me shout this out to those who remain: "Watch out universe! Another Human is on the loose!"

Take care and I hope you have a great day!

Stephen

“AMP Siege”, the episode where Don and Marine Sgt. Diane York, learn, bit by bit, that they have a lot in common.
It's also the episode in which the head stays ahead almost to the end (an in joke!)
Unusually for the series it doesn't so much end as suddenly stop.
It's a two-parter with the first involving planetary fight and flight. The second part sees Don, with only a handful of allies and an alliance with yet another race, the Gonta, try to reclaim the Grid.
Despite the sometimes poor writing style and lack of a tight edit I'm still reading the series (I've given up on better series for less in the past!). As I have noted in previous reviews Space Opera is my Achilles heel :)

Good Pick up of Pace

In the never ending fights against the aggressors and it seems nearly every species they meet they come across even more oddities and perhaps a way to win the fight.
A good pick up of pace over the last few books and a great read

This volume is a bit uneven. Most of the first half of the book has our chief protagonist Don Grange along with three Marines and a handful of the latest species of alien, bonding as they fight for survival while slaughtering millions of low tech aliens. The second half of the book is much better, with the plot progressing nicely.

As I write this, I'm already three quarters of the way through the seventh book on the series, 'AMP The Core'. Much of this book sets up the story arc for the next book. and presumably, the final volume as well. Let me assure you 'AMP The Core' delivers in a major way on answering the mysteries we've been teased with throughout the series. If you find you interest waning, press on! Reading 'AMP Siege' is worth the effort, if only to be prepared for what's to come.

Constant action

Frankly I’m worn out trying to follow this adventure. Taking a break from this author for a while. Not knocking it, just tires me out
