Power career women.
This is the first book of the CEO series. I found this book while browsing KU for my next read. The story is simple and straightforward with little angst. Two business associates find each other attractive and decide to sleep together. Both are career women though one is a little ahead of the other - Eva is a well-established CEO and Madison is struggling to keep her company afloat.
Their story is short and erotic and I found both of them interesting and sexy enough to keep me engaged. But I would have enjoyed it more if the characters were more three dimensional outside the bedroom.

Madison had to pull her company from the brink of collapse, but she got to work and made sure her employees would have a job.
If you are looking for spicy 🌶 and, steam well you got it here. The love scene were omg really hot 🥵.
I loved how honest Madison and Eva were with each other. They just talked and focused on how much they loved each other and wanted to be together.
This is definitely a cute series where two individuals are able to come together and have love and a family. I really enjoyed the story. I’m looking forward to the next installment. I highly recommend this book. It’s available on Amazon kindle unlimited new release. 5 stars

It’s was an ok read written well enough.
There was a conflict scene towards the end that kinda fizzled because everyone was so damn reasonable. I can’t believe I’m actually complaining about it but I wish it had been dragged out more because it was unique and watching the discovery resolution unfold could have been a lot more fun.
The book was short so there is not long to wait for the “I love you’s ” to make an appearance and the ending while super cute and happy seemed unrealistic.

This book basically felt like a good idea that didn't receive the proper attention and time it deserved. Everything was so rushed. I wish a lot of moments got stretched out more in order to give Madison and Eva's story a more fleshed out, believable feeling. The ending was unrealistic and even though it was a happy one it completely ruined it for me.

June 7, 2024This is a short sapphic smutty story. It's not a new favorite by any means, and if I hadn't been provided with a free copy from Libro I probably wouldn't have ever gotten around to reading this. As a romance it was fine. It's definitely on the more smut forward side as Eva and Madison go from pitch meeting to running into one another at a restaurant to rolling around in the sheets. I probably would have enjoyed this more as something that wasn't as relationship orientated. I do think that trying to make me believe that they were falling hard and going back home to Bumfuck, USA did feel slightly unserious, but I get trying to fit the genre conventions. I think if you're looking for a good time not a long time you might enjoy this one. For the page count I found the characters to be pretty well realized and what time we did get to spend with the various characters they were all pretty well established.

I actually was surprised with the twist of this story.
Madison and Eva fell for each other fast but there were reservations from both side for very different reasons, in such short story you get to meet so many secondary characters both MCs parents, one brother, many coworkers and even a new acquaintance that has many roles.
The HEA is the only predictable thing.

What a sexy, steamy book! The heat between Eva and Madison is off the chart! I liked that for the most part they communicated, which means low angst. I just wish it could be longer. I give it 5 stars!

The CEO: A Sapphic/Lesbian Romance (CEO Series Book 1) by Emily Hayes: The front end of this book dragged for me and was wrapped up in a lot of details that almost seemed like filler. It does not mean I didn't like it. It was well put together. Once Madison and Eva got things on track the book turned to fire in my hands. I liked the romance and the sensuality of the book. I'm happy I read this one. I give it 3 1/2 to 4 stars.

Thank you to libro.fm for providing me with an ALC of this audiobook. I am offering my honest opinion voluntarily.
This was a new one for me. I’ve read sapphic romance, but I’ve never found a book featuring an age gap, ice queen, or CEO romance before. Maybe the sapphic aspect made this one seem more appealing, but it was a short and sweet introduction to these tropes.
To start with, the audiobook clocks in at under 4 hours, making this ideal to dip a toe into and discover some new tropes. It is narrated by Abby Craden, who does a very good job with the story. She effortlessly captures two women in different phases in their life and places in their careers—Eva is the experienced and powerful CEO of an industry leading company, while Madison is a younger woman working on building her company from the ground up. When their paths cross, there is major chemistry.
I do enjoy a good romance from time to time, even if it isn’t one of the top genres that I read. And reading too much of a single genre often leads me to feel as if they become formulaic. So adding in a novella featuring some unfamiliar tropes was easy for me with this one, especially because it was so short.
The characters, Eva and Madison, are both strong, independent women. Eva has convinced herself that she doesn’t need a relationship to feel satisfied with her life. She doesn’t have the time to devote to a relationship, and finds it easier to satisfy her needs through no strings attached intimacy. But there is something about Madison that gets into Eva’s head, and I really enjoyed watching the two of them start to warm up to the idea of something more. It is fun to read from both of their perspectives, and I found that I liked them equally. I love to read a story that features women who lift each other up and respect each others sparkle, rather than behaving catty and tearing each other down.
It was a believable plot, and I like hearing more details of their lives, especially what they both did. While things did feel a bit rushed and I would have liked to see Eva, Madison, and their relationship get developed further, I really couldn’t hope for more in a novella-length story. While this is part of a series, each one seems to be standalone, but I can say that this was a good one, based on plot, characters, romantic development, and the spice level in the intimate scenes between these two women. I can recommend this book if: you enjoy sapphic romance, love the idea of an ice queen thawing out, like some pretty spicy scenes, books featuring strong and powerful women who build a healthy relationship, and any of the above mentioned tropes.

This is a short and sweet romance between an ice queen CEO Eva and an up and coming start up entrepreneur Madison. Although there is 10 year age gap between the couple, Madison's even temperament and maturity and Eva's endless energy make us forget the age difference and enjoy the steamy sexy scenes and the unstoppable attraction. I am amazed by the author's brilliant writing, tight and drama filled story, adorable characters and I especially enjoyed the meet the parents part.

Short and sweet, this was a pretty direct erotic novela. Ice Queen, age gap workplace romance. It did feel a bit rushed but kind of to be expected given the length and subject matter. I wish the characters had been a bit more dimensional outside of the spice.

This was a fun short read. I’m starting to enjoy Emily’s books. They’re just what I need at the moment! So I’m looking forward to diving into the rest of this series and seeing what else is available!

The book is an okay read if you’re looking for something short and quick to read, but it’s a forgettable book.
It’s too fast paced for my liking making it difficult to connect with the characters. It would have been great to see Eva and Madison’s relationship grow slowly.
The ending was wholesome but so unrealistic. This book had so much potential.

Emily Hayes can weave a storyline like the best of them. Her various series are entertaining and exciting to read. This new series is going to be just as good adding hot to the description. Maddie is trying to keep her business afloat. She needs to land a big account and Milky Way Dairies needs someone for their new line. Maddie is going all out to get this account. Her meeting with The CEO, Eva Perez had both women a little distracted. Both know this is business or do they.

Beautiful and intense story
A beautiful and intense story with plenty of feelings and moments of happiness. When you know you know that the person opposite is for the rest of your life this is the book about. A happy ending and a nice epilogue for a glance at the future.
