Being so popular, my extracurricular activities crashed my GPA risking my NCAA eligibility. I asked my professor if there was any way to bump my grade. Let’s just say we worked out a clandestine deal.
Look, life is short, okay? My mom’s proof of that. The most beautiful female hockey player there ever was, died too soon.
But let’s see … captain of the hockey team, president of Alpha-Sigma, full-time course load, and looking after said hockey team and frat members around the clock.
Is it any wonder I have to persuade a few professors to help me with my grades?
Professor VanCourt doesn’t even look like a professor. It looks like someone abducted him from the wilderness and dropped him in the classroom. His feral eyes give “raised by wolves”, and I might have been the first human he’s talked to in a while, judging by how many of his words are grunts.
This guy is so not gonna let me “work out a deal”. He’s set on putting me in my place.
Luke VanCourt
His body is a conduit for power, all the force in the world his to harness. It bends to his will.
That’s probably why everyone trips over themselves for him. They probably want to be controlled by all that wild power.
Not me. I want to restrain it. Keep it under my thumb. Keep him under my thumb.
My brother has no issues keeping his team perfectly obedient on the ice, but he needs help with them off the ice.
Ace McKinnon is the key.
All I need to do is make him comply, and the rest will fall into line.
But I’ve never claimed to be a saint. What’s wrong with having fun while I do it?
Daddies of the League is a college ice hockey shared world, where you’ll find Daddies both on and off the ice. Skate into your newest obsession and grab them all. Off-Ice Misconduct features an MM age-gap relationship with the kind of possessiveness that will make you shiver and morally gray heroes.
Some of you know her as Mock, others as S. Legend, or Miss S. She welcomes all names but will often go by Mock, a name given to her by her readers. Mock is an ambitious creative, weaving the most precious aspects of her soul into stories. She is an architect, building fascinating worlds, designed from inquiry, rooted in worldly wonderings. It’s an intuitive process where she is the scribe, the translator, the conduit. It helped that storytelling was the language spoken at home. One simply didn’t say, “We have an ant infestation,” in Mock’s family it was, “I was on my way to the living room, when a peculiar ant crossed my path. I looked to my right, a suspicious line of them marched toward the pantry. In that moment I knew; my kitchen was under siege.” The natural flow of conversation always took this form. And so. When Mock wrote her first novel, she didn’t plan it chapter by chapter, there was no outline, no “plotting” to speak of. But she didn’t “pants” it either, she didn’t make it up as she went along. She knew how the story felt, where it curved in places and hollowed in others; she knew the destination it rushed toward. Instead of orchestrating, she let the world inspire her, and held space for the words to come, trusting the characters knew what they were doing. All she had to do was tell a story, as she always had done; like breathing. This is her peace, her healing and solace: Gifts better shared. Mock’s works are the comfort you seek when you need to come home. Her unique writing style will take you, wayfaring reader, to unexpected destinations. She always says, “I’m not in the business of making up stories, I couldn’t if I tired. I’m lucky enough to get picked to share someone else’s story when I ask a question to the universe. Someone answers; I write it down.”
All the unhinged madness, OTT drama and intense connections that I love from S Legend's books!!
I really enjoyed the relationship dynamics between Ace and Luke and how growly, possessive and unhinged Luke was when it came to Ace. Ace discovering his bratty princess side and that he wanted a Daddy was just so fun - I do always prefer a Daddy / Brat pairing because they're just so fun to read.
Ace was definitely an interesting guy because although he's this amazing hockey talent, he's not arrogant or full of himself and he only takes advantage of the perks available to him when it's for the genuine benefit of his team. The way he captains them on the ice, and leads them off it was just a joy to read and I just really liked his character and wanted him to succeed.
Luke is a more complex character and he's just so intense in everything he does, but the way he cares for Ace in their sweet moments and the contrast of how he behaves when someone even breathes near Ace just entertained me so much. I would have liked to know a bit more about the backstory of the VanCourt brothers though, and the stipulations surrounding their inheritance, but I assume that will be discussed further in Tate and Ryan's book - which I have to say I am really looking forward to because Tate sounds like he may be a genuine psycopath and I do love a dark romance...
I also had a little fangirl squeal when it became clear that this book ties into the Heartbreak Hockey series! I adore that series so much and I'm so excited that we're potentially going to see Ace pop up in the next book, depending on the timeline? Either way, Rhett's way of introducing himself in this book was so perfectly him, and Logan welcoming Ace to the Meyer family had me doing a little celebration dance because I absolutely love those guys and I never want to leave their story world 😂😂
I also need to know that we'll be getting a full story for Shep and Bender because even though they were side characters I am obsessed with them and their relationship dramas already, and what about Huddy?? I need to know him immediately please...
Pretty obvious I really, really enjoyed this book and this author's hockey world definitely has it's hooks in me!
***** I received an ARC of this book from Nisha's Books and Coffee PR, and this is my honest review
Okay listen. Sometimes you read a book at the perfect time and it just hits right. Ice-Cold Misconduct was that for me.
Super hot daddy kink, dirty talk, praise kink, sizzling tension, "princess" (from slightly condescending to possesive term of endearment), a bit of spanking - chef's kisses to all of this, it was hottttt!
Ice Cold Misconduct absolutely has the hotness going for it and despite it being about 100 pages too long and unnecessarily OTT in many ways, I flew through it. Luke and Ace were fire together though I honestly wouldn't have been surprised if it turned out Luke was actually a werewolf with how often he was compared to one and his frequent growling lmao.
In all the possessive, alpha type, caveman daddies out there, this was the most feral. FYI this could have been easily a werewolf type of story, I’m still debating sending the paranormal police to make sure Luke is really human 🧐
Another good story from Mock herself ! Hockey student x professor is Deja Vu you would say? But NO, not like this. I love how “not predictable” this story was.
First I loved the main characters and their evolution. From bored professor to overly possessive daddy and from alpha king hockey player to sweet submissive brat princess 👑 ❤️ As always their inner journey was captivating. The inner turmoil from someone broken and someone grieving, loved how it turned.
Second, The side characters !!!!!!!! Tate ! Can we talk about Tate?! I hope he gets a book because he went from “who the fuck are you assh*le?! To you are freaking intriguing I wanna know more” kind of character! I need their book like right now ! Tate has been an itch since mid book and I really have a lot of questions !
Then the besties ! Shep and Bender ! Ennemies to lovers ? Friends to lovers ? Someone please gave me something!
And OH, daddy Helkington’s owner?lover? enters the chat?!! 🫣😱 I can’t breathe ! 😮💨
Author warning - “ It’s just two hockey guys doing what they want, how they want, when they want it. The MC is a morally gray hero. My MCs love their alpha men unapologetic. If you need a groveling Hero, this book is not for you.”
Character driven ✅ Raw intense sexual tension and kink ✅ Ice hockey player and professor ✅ Power dynamics ✅ Moral greyness ✅ Character cameos from other books ✅
Ooh I’m intrigued.
Ace McKinnon - frat boy,ice hockey is the love of his life and he’s willing to do anything to keep playing. Sexual favours for better grades.
He is captain for the Shadowridge Scorpions.
The coach of said hockey team , Tate, has an older brother. Luke is Ace’s English professor for the semester. Luke is self professed morally grey.
Tate needs to get married by his fortieth birthday, or Luke will be forced to give up the fortune left by their Uncle.
Luke and Tate were orphans raised by their strict Uncle .
Ace’s mum died , it was just him and his dad growing up.
These childhood traumas shape who they are now .
Luke thinks Ace is a brat, Ace is turned on by Luke’s strictness and feral, wild look.
“I guess I could go running to my dad or the dean if I really wanted to, but I’m surprised to find that I don’t. This is too fucking exciting in ways I can’t explain.”
Ace is incredibly horny over Luke.
“The word unacceptable has never been so hot. I half expect him to tell me to unbutton my pants and lay myself over the desk for punishment with that retractable pointer I know is a fucking cane. He can spank me till I’m screaming and crying then shove his cock inside without any mercy.”
Luke’s also fighting the attraction.
“No. Bad Luke. You can’t fuck a student, even if this is a fake job, and he looks older than the average twenty-four-year-old. That would be reckless, even for me. Looking at his ass is depraved enough.”
Lots of push and pull . Luke is all disciplinary and Ace is all bratty - and this is without sex involved although the sexual tension 🥵
“I could get used to you manhandling me like this, sir,” McKinnon says in the brattiest tone imaginable. “I’d be happy to, princess. But you wouldn’t be calling me sir, you’d be calling me Daddy.”
New dynamic now , instead of Sir, it’s Daddy.
Frat wars, Sorority at war with Ace’s fraternity as well.
Spankings . Ooh Luke is very possessive and protective and growly - love it.
“ He’s the bright spot of chaotic sunshine I didn’t know I could have, but now that I do, I have to keep his sunshine all for myself. Let him bleed into all my darkness, breathe life into places that are nearly dead. I don’t just want to fuck him, own him, claim him, I want our souls to mesh together.”
Coach finds out about Ace and Luke . Apparently Ace is Luke’s to deal with , not Coach. Coach Tatum idolises his older brother but he’s also morally grey.
Luke has some past trauma , their parents died and they were raised by a psychotic Uncle. Luke got the worst of it , always putting his brother first. The brothers love each other but their uncles mind games have really fucked with them.
‘Shouldn’t one of the VanCourt brothers be sunshine and rainbows? But no. They’re both dark clouds of murderous melancholy.’
Luke tries to breakup with Ace but instead is jealous and now they are exclusive boyfriends.
Ace catches Coach fucking a rival teams player, Ryan Savage in HIS bed. So Ace goes to Luke’s.
The coach has some big seduction plan to lure Ryan over to his college so his rich dad will bring in money for the team when Ace and his money graduate .
Luke is jealous Ace is touchy feely with his besties. He’s all like you’re MINE.
‘How many ways can we say the L-word without saying the L-word? I might start writing them down. ‘
Ace has lunch with his dad and finds out his dad got engaged to his assistant who is Ace’s age. Ace does not take this well.
Ace and Luke are pretty good at communicating with each other, and if not , then there are sexy spankings 🤣
Omg and it’s too cute that their way of saying I love you is to say “hearts and shit”.
Luke tells Ace about his Uncle’s illegal fight club and how he was fighting at 15.
“ I feel so, so owned. All his. I get to play hockey and be his. It’s all I aspire to. This is the fucking life.”
Ace is missing his best friends. They haven’t talked much since he found them in bed together and was upset. Ace is not handling the breakup of Shep and Huddy, or Shep and Bender hooking up.
Ace makes up with his besties .
This whole book Ace and Luke have incredible chemistry and the sex is fire.🔥
“I don’t wanna be where you’re not either, Daddy.” I take a breath. “I love you. You know that, right?” He smiles against my neck, and I wish I could see it. Luke smiles are rare. “I know, baby. Daddy loves you, too, and he’s keeping you forever.”
Ace’s reputation is getting trashed but Luke goes all protective Daddy mode. The hockey Team also have his back . Aww the brotherhood .
Edward Arovini wants Ace to play for his NHL team, the Vancouver Orcas. Mercy Meyer (from the heartbreak hockey series)and Eddie were childhood best friends.
Aces dad gets in a bad car accident but it is the catalyst for Ace seeing East and his dad really love each other. His dad also sees how much Luke and Ace love each other too.
“I’m gonna play hockey with the fucking Alderchuck brothers. Legends. Both of them.” ( They have their own books too.)
Those brothers really like to mark their men 😂
“ I love you, Luke. Every fucking part of you. Forever.” He says it so easily now. An “I love you” from him heals the places in me I thought were ruined without hope. “I love you, Ace,” I murmur, kissing his cracked lips. These are mine—and only mine—to kiss forever. He’s mine.”
Future possible books Shep and Bender - enemies to lovers
Coach Tate and Ryan - loveless marriage trope
Aces dad and his assistant East- boss and assistant trope

I loved this book and had a great time reading it. I like the complexity of both MC's. I like that Ace has been made a brat through his privilege and his upbringing. Luke is a gentle heart that has been turned into a broody monster that has kinks for his kinks. Even though both their back stories are painful, this book is light and there are many funny moments. Being in Ace's head is hilarious and sometimes over the top. Luke, the brooder can't help but be the caretaker grumpy wolf. In true S.Legend style we get all the brat and all the spankings. There were so many stories set up in this first book, I can't wait to read them all. Tate and Ryan are next and you just know it's going to be a good one👍
Thoughts as reading: Poor Ace, this feels like a constant edging for the longest time. But like Luke said, nobody has ever died from blue balls, and besides, Ace loved it. "Hearts and s***" Adorable.
A MM College romance with Professor x Hockey player, Out & Proud Bisexuals, "I'm big but he's bigger" (size difference), 15yrs age-gap, Daddy's Princess/Good Boy... swoony, dramatic, possessive, acceptance, violence & love! I loved Ace & Luke, devoured my #ARC in 13hrs over 2days! These 2 had me hooked, I smiled, got mad & even teared up 😭. All the feels!
Ace (24) is the college hockey captain & frat president. Pretty & rugged, he's people pleaser & a chaotic sunshine who's genuinely sweet but can be a menace. He takes on way too much on himself. Luke is the new English professor, here to whip the hockey brats into good students by his brother's (the coach) asking. Roughened by his childhood, he's strict, broody (& feral like a wolf 🤣) but also protective, caring & holy alpha dominating!
Opposites attract with a chemistry neither saw coming... 2 morally gray tops collide & 1 has his "Jacket-receiver" moment 🤭. Sexy Daddy kink, Good Boy/Princess (Lace but no femme), orgasm control & more! consent is king 💅. Degradation with praise is hot 🥵. I LOVED how unapologetic Ace is with what newly turned him on!
College, Frat wars (OTT lol), & hockey are entertaining sub-plots with fast-paced writing. L+A have their fears (kiss? 🥺), forbidden romance, losses & insecurities BUT angst never gets big high even if emotions do! I'm glad it didn't get boring AT ALL even tho they got together early, with filthy hotness, 'I need this in my future bf' swoon 😭 & maddening feels 🥰.
Plus, there were 3 extra loves stories that happened in background, whoa. 2 seem to be solid (I still want their books tho!). While I'm glad we'll get a Tate+Ryan book 😍. The secrecy of 'em all lol 😆. Jealousy does wonders (& hurts too tho). That bit with Ace's dad hurt, I was as mad at Ace as he was at himself 😩. Loved Luke as his sounding board ☺️. This book was long, yet I still wanted more 😅 from some off-page scenes! Cute ending. Loved the cameo!
Wolf Daddy Luke and Princess Ace were absolutely fire!!! I enjoyed this story so so much. I think the way S Legend writes with this casual humour, intense attachment, sensitive issues like grief addressed but with a light hand and a path to healing made this a layered story that was a true joy to read. I loved everything about this book, the sexual discovery is so well handled and the kink exploration is WHITE HOT!
It’s a baby alpha meets daddy alpha and there is an explosion that can’t be missed! I loved
- the found family - the all for one and one for all scorpions are amazing - The frat wars - The fact that I still can’t figure what Luke does, did I miss it, he is so mysterious and it totally works - Tate and Ryan’s story that we have to look forward to - Ace and his Dad’s journey - is there a story there, have I missed it? - Daddy Princess dynamic so well done, and the exploration is just fantastic - Both Ace and Luke are amazing characters and their HEA and that ending is just so perfectly written
Let me tell you guys about the chokehold this book has me in. I KNEW when S. Legend told me she was writing a daddy kink book that I'd be OBSESSED - I just didn't know HOW OBSESSED! She understood the assignment, guys!!! This book is HOT. Hot, hot. I mean, I know all her books are, but this one is up there on the spice scale. In typical S. Legend fashion, this book is filled with top tier possessiveness. These guys do not want ANYONE looking at their man and I ate it up!
"That's a good boy. Do you want Daddy to call you princess? Is that the demand you're making?"
"I know you can follow orders," he says. "I expect no less than perfection. Can you do that? Be perfect for me?"
"No. You don't hide from me. Ever. Bring those pretty eyes back up here."
I DIEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!
&& we MUST chat about the side characters because I DEMAND books for them! NON NEGOTIABLE!
-professor/student -hockey -daddy & his bratty hockey player -possessive mcs -age gap -"princess" -frat boy antics & brotherhood
This book is absolutely hilarious. It is ridiculous at times, downright funny and I laughed out loud multiple times.
Ace is a very populair college hockey star with a lot of responsibilities but rapidly declining grades, and he needs someone to get him in line. So his coach asks his brother Luke to take care of Ace by becoming his professor. But while the dominant professor tries to tame the bratty hotshot, they both like that dynamic far too much
The characters in this book are so over the top, they make you laugh like all the time. Wolf Daddy Luke really stole my heart here. He is an unhinged dominant giant and possessive af f*ck. The word "mine" is growled so many times I lost count. But Ace is a fantastic character too. He starts off as a cocky brat, but he is genuinely sweet and caring and a total simp for his wolf daddy.
It is a light and spicy read with great characters, fantastic banter and a sweet and lovely vibe. The only complaint I have is that it is waaaaaay too long. This plot does not warrant 422 pages, so it gets a little boring in the middle.
If you are looking for a funny read with a strict daddy and his much younger bratty student, please pick this up! You will NOT be dissapointed. And all the breadcrumbs left for Tate and Ryan, I can't wait for their book!!!!
Okay, I’ve clearly been in a Daddy book drought because this one came in scorching. I had to physically close my Kindle and cool down yes, it’s THAT spicy. I’m still screaming because WHAT THE FREAK WAS THAT?! Who gave them the right??
Ace is your classic campus heartthrob: hockey captain, frat president, basically college royalty. It’s his final year, and to keep him in line, the coach pulls a wild move bringing in Ace’s older brother, Luke, as a professor and full-time babysitter. What no one expected was the simmering tension between them that slowly turns into something a lot deeper.
What I loved is that Luke isn’t fazed by the shiny Ace everyone else fawns over. He sees the overwhelmed, low-key disaster human underneath and just… takes charge in the most unholy way. He doesn’t baby him he challenges him, pushes him, builds him up. And yeah… he gets possessive real fast. The Daddy energy? Absolutely feral.
This book had everything: filthy banter, actual feelings, laugh-out-loud moments, and enough heat to start small fires. Plus, the side characters were messy in the best way I can already tell we’re getting more books, and I’m feral for them.
My goodness. This book. I have no words. That's because I've spontaneously melted into a pile of drool on my book nook floor. I have no regrets, only stars, and this book get's them all.
So Ace. He's in his final year at college and living things up. He's an insanely talented hockey captain, popular, cocky, attractive and used to getting his own way. Graduation is so close he can almost smell it, there's just one very sexy problem standing in his way. Professor Luke VanCourt aka Wolf Daddy.
Luke/Daddy takes one look at Ace's needy facer and knows exactly which buttons to press in order to bring him to his knees. hot. Getting involved with one of his students wasn't something he planned on, but he also can't say no, especially when Ace's brattitude comes out to play.
Together these two ignite the pages of the story, just burnt them right away to ashes. Seriously, be careful when you reading lest your kindle spontaenously combusts. lol. I was here for all of their dynamics and kinks, the dirty talk and the edging - oh my goodness the edging. I don't know how Ace survived.
Now yes, the spice was top tier for me, but there was also so much more happening in this book that elevated the story from smutty goodness to a smutty, heart wrenching, fully fleshed out tale of family drama, friendships and HEA's.
I will definitely need a shelf copy so I can go back to their story and relieve my fav parts. Often. How many times is too many? Asking for a friend. Check triggers as always and then sit back and enjoy.
god, i so hate myself for DNF’ing this at 38%. it was funny, sweet, cute, hot, toxic(❤) and everything you desire from a book trope . i was hooked, but only until 30% theeeeeen it started to feel boring and repetitive... sorry, another time maybe :(
The dynamic between the men in this book is so wonderful. I love when someone who is usually the caretaker gets taken care of and realizes this is the life I was meant for.
4 stars. Now this…this is my shit. I love a good Daddy kink, and it was extra fun here because our “Princess” was a jock 😭 gotta love beefcake brats, what can I say?
“You’re branded on my soul, princess.” - Not gonna ask me, huh?” - “Try to leave, and I’ll drag you back by your throat, McKinnon.”
….
Oh Dear Lord. Or should I say Oh Dear Daddy. Holy that is all Holy. Forever my writing Queen - Mock <3.
I want to be immersed into the stories I pick up and I was plunged by my throat by this one. I felt unhinged.
Hockey player x Professor. Age gap, possessive caveman, daddy x princess vibe - sounds so predictable but trust me - nothing predictable about these two or the story unfolded.
The evolution of the dynamic between Ace and Luke is chefs kiss. 💋. I was captivated. I don’t want to give a lot away because they should be explored and eat up till the last crumb. Like all other characters in this book. You blend freely into this world wanting to be a fly on the wall, watching all unfold. What I can say - you will love both of their personalities, little traits and all moments between them. The dedication to each other. You will also get invested in them and everyone around because that’s how Mock writes. It’s complet. All or nothing.
The intertwining of two worlds. Mock you wanted me to have a heart attack. Did I mention all that’s holy? 🙌🏼.
Ps. I need three stories out of this like my lungs need air. Air. Air. Air. Non negotiable, pretty please. And one is confirmed. Like ♾️. Screaming.
….
“What other secrets are you hiding, pretty, pretty boy?” // “I expect no less than perfection. Can you do that? Be perfect for me?” // “This jacket doesn’t belong to me anymore; it belongs to him.” // “I’d be happy to, princess. But you wouldn’t be calling me sir, you’d be calling me Daddy.” // “Because, yeah, Ace has become a need as much as a want. He’s the bright spot of chaotic sunshine I didn’t know I could have, but now that I do, I have to keep his sunshine all for myself.” // “That’s it. It’s over for you.” // “Oh, c’mon. No need for jealousy after all our hearts and shit, Daddy.” // “Start begging, princess.” // “Not sorry. I couldn’t wait out there. Be mad at me if you want.” // “…that the only thing left in your head, princess, is me.” …
….
*I reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.
“If you want me to stay out of it, then you fix it without one more mark on you—not a single goddamn one. Otherwise, I’ll be forced to put my marks on you, and I’ll do that with my perfect leather strap. They’ll burn for days, reminding you of where you fucking belong. Now, what do you say?” “Yes, sir.” “I don’t think so, princess. Try that one again.” “Yes, Daddy.” “Good boy.” ^ Page 75.
This book was a whole lotta sex and not very much plot. The pacing wasn't too great and there were a few grammar mistakes that I was willing to look past. If you got daddy issues, this book hits differently.
“You came for me,” “Of course. I will always come for you.” ^ Page 97.
“You’re not the captain of the hockey team to me. You’re nothing but a needy princess, desperate to be put in his place. Isn’t that right, baby?” “Y-Yes, Daddy.” ^ Page 111.
Ace is a hockey player that thinks he's better than everyone else and can be treated like he's superior. Until he meets Luke. Luke doesn't stand for shit. Ace draws penises instead of lines? That's it Luke owns him. They were already obsessed with each other and sexual stuff by like 25% of the book.
His sex partners probably want to be controlled by all that wild power. Not me. I want to restrain it. Keep it under my thumb. Keep him under my thumb. ^ Page 49.
3.5✨ I'd be up for reading another book like this, as long as it's not just the two guys fucking or spanking whenever they're not in class. It's just lust, not love.
Yesssssss!! If you’ve read my reviews before, you already know I’m a sucker for fem nicknames and hot hockey Gods, and Ace was the perfect princess for his big, bad Wolf Daddy. 🐺👑 The chemistry between these two? Absolutely feral from page one. I loved everything about their dynamic… EVERYTHING.
Ace is the golden boy, frat prez, hockey captain, campus sweetheart. If you didn’t want him, you wanted to be him, and believe me, he knew it.
Enter Luke VanCourt. To keep his players in check, Coach brings in backup, his brother, who just so happens to be a dominant, broody, take-no-shit professor with control issues and a serious weakness for one bratty hockey boy. From the second Luke lays eyes on Ace, it’s game over. He wants to own him, and Ace? He’s more than willing to be possessed.
Ace is the brattiest of brats but quickly learns that he loves being punished… especially when Luke’s the one wielding the cane. Or belt. Or that big… hand. 😏🔥
This ticked all my boxes - I inhaled this book in one sitting. There were soo many delicious tropes happening in this, we get hockey, age gap, professor/student and a very generous sprinkle of daddy kink to seal the deal.
I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again because I really cannot overstate how much I love reading about big jocks discovering that they love being dominated - and princess Ace loves nothing more than being dominated to within an inch of his life by his growly, possessive “Wolf daddy”.
I love how protective Luke is. He takes caring for his princess extremely seriously (super helpful because, between hockey and his general recklessness, Ace gets hurt a LOT), and I really appreciate how much page time is dedicated to it. This book is very spicy but it’s also a surprisingly slow burn, Luke and Ace don’t kiss until VERY far in and the tension is simultaneously the best and the absolute worst.
This was great, it gets two enthusiastic thumbs up from me. Would definitely recommend.
OOOhhhhh this book was hottt. Being Canadian, I could not pass on a Hockey romance and I was surprised to see it was a daddy kink. I’m not usually into that trope but written this way? Count me in! It was phenomenal!
I loved Luke with this possessive and alpha ways to show his feeling and protect Ace. I loved Ace with his internal monologue and how he thinks and described Luke throughout out the book. I laughed out loud more times that I can count.
Their evolution was amazing to see and I found it very realistic. They grow together but still stay the person they are. They do not change for the other one and I like that very much. Even the side characters had stories that I can wait to read!
Did I say this book was hot? The chemistry between the characters was top tier and the banter was some of the best I’ve seen.
If you like: -Pofessor/student -Hockey setting -Daddy & his bratty little princess (trust me you want it) -Very possessive character -Age gap
When an alpha male runs it to a bigger alpha male and ends up just wanting to be told what to do and be a princess for him. Ace is owned by Luke and it was hot. The dynamic, the power setting between them was just amazing right from the start. How Luke puts Ace in his place would make anyone weak in the knees. He had the perfect balance of dominance and care. Nobody could touch him, and he made sure Ace knew it, and if needed the punishments were deliciously good. I don’t think possessive is the right word for what Luke is. But I loved every second of it. As always S. Legend did not disappoint. Go read this book and then pine for a Daddy of your own.
I absolutely love a growly, feral, possessive man and Luke was just that. Ace is definitely a princess brat and the dynamic was fire. Love all of the side characters too, hoping to see them in the future :)
Book was a little long but man it was really good. I love Ace & Luke together tho. Such a caveman and a pretty princess makes them so good together. If you like hockey, daddy&princess vibes, then this book is definitely for you.
Omg this book ATE. I swear this book made me not actually cringe over the daddy trope 🤣 I think it worked for me because of how crazy possessive Luke was and I just eat that shit up lol. Huge slay for no 3rd act breakup because once again, Luke is a feral possessive werewolf who won’t let his Princess leave him EVER. Also GAGGED over Tate and Ryan???? I just know that book is going to eat too 😵

“I wasn’t even spanked as a kid, yet all I could imagine Professor VanCourt doing was spanking my misbehaved ass. There were a few special moments there when I thought he would.” (LOL)
“Captain of the hockey team? Sure, when he’s on the ice, but off the ice he’d be nothing but my needy little bitch.” (ALPHAAAAA)
“This jacket doesn’t belong to me anymore; it belongs to him. And so do I. All signs say I’m supposed to hate that, but I don’t. Not even a little bit.”
“Claiming what I feel is mine is as natural as breathing to me. Something inside of me has decided Ace is mine, and that’s just the way it is. Like gravity or the sky being blue. That’s not good news for me or him. Especially not for him.”
“That’s right, Daddy’s not a caring lamb, princess. He’s the wolf, and he’ll eat you alive.”
“I want him more than I want to be a good man. I’m already halfway to hell as it is.”
“He’s the bright spot of chaotic sunshine I didn’t know I could have, but now that I do, I have to keep his sunshine all for myself. Let him bleed into all my darkness, breathe life into places that are nearly dead. I don’t just want to fuck him, own him, claim him, I want our souls to mesh together.”
“Not gonna lie, being a brat is fun, but I love being your good boy, Daddy.”
“Did I growl? If I did, it wasn’t on purpose. He pulls the leash off every animal instinct I’ve spent the second part of my life trying to cage.”
“Maybe I don’t need to kill the beast, control him, or restrain him with Ace. Maybe I need to stop starving him.”
“It’s feral, it’s instinct, it’s predatory.”
“If you died, I wouldn’t be sad, I’d be furious. I’d walk into the underworld to retrieve you, princess, but it’s not going to come to that. Death wouldn’t dare take you from me.”
“Life is fucking colorless when you’re not with me.”
“You didn’t unlock something, you named it. No one’s ever made me feel this way. Never. I’ve never even wanted to be someone’s anything—boyfriend, partner, whatever. I thought I was broken.”
“Want to ruin him, want to fuck him into oblivion, want to be with him. I choose him. Of all the humans on earth, I choose this one. Him.” — “I want you, Luke, like I’ve never wanted anyone, and it’s fucking terrifying.”
“I don’t wanna be where you’re not either, Daddy.” — “I love you. You know that, right?” — “I know, baby. Daddy loves you, too, and he’s keeping you forever.” (🥹🥹🥹)
“He chose me not in spite of the way I dominate him, but because of it. I don’t need to rein myself in for Ace; he wants the full force of me. He loves it. My strictness doesn’t cage him in; it lifts him up.”
“I slide it onto his ring finger” — “You’re branded on my soul, princess.”
“I can’t wait to add my name to yours.” — “Me too. I love you, Luke. Every fucking part of you. Forever.” — “”I love you, Ace,” I murmur, kissing his cracked lips. These are mine—and only mine—to kiss forever. He’s mine.”
“I’m just really grateful for you, Mr. McKinnon-VanCourt.”
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I was ready to DNF at page 20, because the writing felt cringy and too frat-bro-y. But I read the other ARC reviews, rechecked the tropes, and decided to continue. And to be fair, it probably had more to do with my period just starting than anything else, because I ate this book up!
S. Legend, I was unfamiliar with your game, but best believe you have a loyal fan who will go back to read her other books as soon as possible.
Luke and Ace...good lord, the teasing, heat, and longing. I loved the self-awareness of Ace, his 'I hate him but this is turning me on' and Luke and his 'he won't be a spoiled brat' while in fact making Ace HIS spoiled brat.
Luke was such a deep and interesting character. He thrived in control, and he knew he was a lot, but he shouldn't have to change himself to be loved and I'm so happy Ace loved every single unhinged piece Luke was offering. I loved his Daddy side, his protective over-the-top side, and how much he actually cared about Ace and his well-being, physical and mental. I absolutely loved the sexual dynamic, and it was beyond hot to see both of them find themselves so comfortable in it.
And Ace? He was a little cocky and self-absorbed, but only in those first 20 pages where you still don't truly know him and his logic/motives. His loyalty and love for his team, his relationship with his teammates, and even his tumultuous relationship with his dad shaped him, and he was a wonderful and interesting character. The way he went from dominant over everyone to 'princess' was precocious, and I loved every interaction that got these two to the best point, the HEA.
I even wanted more, more bonus scenes, more epilogue, a wedding night moment, a 'late night home hockey rink' spicy moment...safe to say I will be thinking of these two for weeks to come.
Thank you, Nisha and S. Legend, for this e-arc!!
Quotes:
Fuck, I want him to own me. I'd actually fucking let him own me.
Captain of the hockey team? Sure, when he's on the ice, but off the ice he'd be nothing but my needy little bitch.
Something inside of me has decided Ace is mine, and that's just the way it is. Like gravity or the sky being blue.
"Patience, McKinnon. When I finally take you apart, I won't stop. I'll leave you in ruins."
Relationships like the one Ace and I are building aren't one-sided. We catch each other. He's put his trust in me; I need to put my trust in him.
"That's it. It's over for you." And then he kisses me back.
I can kiss him now. The real thing I craved. Never have I wanted to kiss someone more.
I've been dreaming about getting wrecked by that cock for so long, it's basically part of my personality by now.
"You like when I use you to get off, don't you? Such a fucking alpha hockey star until you're on Daddy's dick. Then you're just a pretty doll, begging to be fucked."
My heart stutters, and I dive, catching my favorite place his lips.
Okay, I'm drooling now, but anybody with a man like mine would.
His. His. I'm so his.
"Same as a captain without his team behind him. I'll ride into battle with you, Cap."
An "I love you" from him heals the places in me I thought were ruined without hope.
Age Gap Hockey captain/Prof Daddy/Princess 2 Bi MMCs Possessive (jackets and hickeys as a way of of marking)
Feral prof who is only in it as a favor to his brother who happens to be the uni hockey coach…and needs help reigning in the captain
Luke went into this new prof job not for a long time or a good time but as a favor to his brother. He couldn’t give a f but his rules will be followed. He may not particularly care about keeping his job but he does care about how his actions could affect his brothers job. But once he laid claim to Ace…there’s no one save from his wrath if anyone harms his princess.
Ace, the hockey captain used to getting his way. He’s used to being the one in charge in many aspects of his college career with being hockey captain and the president of his frat and basically the one all his teammates and friends look to for leadership and as a role model. He’s used to agreements with previous profs in umm creative ways for him to keep his grade up…he has the same idea with his new prof and maybe things go in that direction but in no way is Luke going to let him slack off with his school work. Ace is kind of drowning in all his responsibilities but lucky there’s a daddy to handle some things for him
Their chemistry is off the charts and they are very much into each other. What I liked most is that the main conflict is outside of the relationship and while they start out being cautious and have to hide their relationship from others they aren’t exactly hiding from each other. Luke has some reservations about showing his true self because he’s scared that he’s too much but I don’t think it’s the usual way it’s done in romance, which I liked. Luke has a messed up past and it shaped who he is today and he knows himself and his preferences enough that if he doesn’t mesh with his partner then no relationship with be able to happen. I appreciate that he’s a character that knows himself well but there’s still a vulnerability to him, especially when it comes to Ace.
Ace has gone through the loss of his mother who he loved very much and they had a bond through hockey that he wants to protect. Everything points to him having a good relationship with his mom and that she would be proud of him but he is scared to move into a professional career because he’s worries that means leaving his mom behind. This is sort of a central conflict with his dad. What goes on with his dad and the memory of his mother, trying to navigate losing someone you loved deeply and how to move on without losing the love you have for them, is heartbreaking but also very beautiful.
These characters are unapologetically themselves, while still being vulnerable and keeping open the possibilities for growth.
I’m a mood reading and I guess kinda picky about Daddy kink. This hit at the right time for me. I loooooved the dynamics of their relationship. Especially Daddy Luke calling Ace his princess. If you vibe with any of the tropes in this book, I think you’ll have a great time.
✨✨✨ Off-Ice Misconduct (@slegendauthor), which is part of the Daddies of the League series and will be released July 25th✨✨✨

I’ve officially found my next auto-buy author! The writing style here is just incredible—so much deep emotion, commanding chemistry, and razor-sharp banter. I snickered way too often while devouring this story. Pure gold.
Luke is absolutely phenomenal. His internal tug-of-war with the pull toward Ace had me glued to the page—and in the end, he just doesn’t give a damn anymore. Honestly, Ace might be right… maybe Luke is a werewolf. 🐺
And speaking of Ace, I truly admire the way he grows. He’s man enough to shift his perspective and take a look from the other side. Respect to that kind of personal growth.
This story follows our two MMCs through thei final year at university, balancing the desire to leave a mark with the uncertainty of what comes next—all without losing sight of what shaped them.
If you’re into sharp banter, a bratty princess, and a grumpy daddy you’ll secretly adore—then seriously, run and grab this one. It’s getting hot and you won’t regret it!
Quotes:
Oh, how I love showing men like him that they’re nothing but needy, spoiled princesses.
Recovering, he blinks his pretty eyes. “Please, Daddy.” Fuck me. My hand traps his throat, forcing a gasp from him as it slowly dawns on him that he’s evoked more than he bargained for. That’s right, Daddy’s not a caring lamb, princess. He’s the wolf, and he’ll eat you alive.
We haven’t even played our first game yet and he’s so far up our asses, I wanna tell him to buy me dinner first.
⁉️QOTD: What’s more irresistible—grumpy dominance or bratty charm? ⁉️
Why the book should be so underdeveloped in every single detail?
The story is set up in imaginary university (Shadowridge Uni, yes, enjoy the creativity), located in a town that does not exist (town name stays unknown, or maybe it's Shadowridge?) Anyway, we are not even told which Canadian province is it or maybe it's in the US? MC1 is doing a completely bullshit degree in the field I couldn't identify but it includes lots of English classes and also math - sorry, I have no idea what it will be at the end. Of course, all his professors are willing to give him marks in exchange for sexual services. Another MC is a professor who doesn't want his job, but still gets it easy-peasy simply through his affiliation with a local hockey couch, if you can believe this nonsense. I can not. Doesn't the Author know about hundreds of applications for every single position in English departments? That PhD's are fighting tooth and nail to get even a tutor/instructor job? That it takes literally years to get a foot in the door of any uni not to mention a PRESTIGIOUS one? There is an icing on a cake - Luke's education is paramedic and he is also a currently unemployed person with PhD in unknown discipline that he got after "several years" in Stanford. OMG, now I am laughing. One more funny thing - apparently the whole hockey team is doing the same classes:)))) Another funny thing: a "professor" harasses 24-year old man who seems to have no idea of what harassment means or how easy he could get this "professor" to lose his job.
I am ready to bet anything that the Author has never been to uni herself and never bothered with doing a proper research...
So yes, the background is bad. And the background is important here, because there is no plot to compensate its absense, unless you are counting ridiculous line of poor abused orphans and their evil rich uncle forcing one of them into marriage. Apparently, the Author does not know that this kind of will can be challenged in a court...
Lack of basic research. Non-existent world and character building. Cliches. F-words on every page. Ridiculous drama, much-ado-about-nothing style (but taken seriously, no space for comedy here). Time of death - chapter 3, but I scrolled through the rest of the book.
I can't belive this is written by the same person who released Tristan. But it's definitely written by the same person who released Everleigh's Ring and Starborn Husbands, if you got my point... Unfortunately.
Easy 6 ⭐️ Sometimes I give 5 stars because it’s a fun and quick read, not going too deep into a rating, but this book is a 6 ⭐️ one because literally I have zero complaints and criticism. I fell in love with it immediately. The writing was AMAZING. But what I truly loved was the intensity of the characters and their emotions. Luke and Ace fell hard, and it was portrayed beautifully here. Also, what I find pretty rare in books these days, both the obsession and Daddy elements were represented perfectly in this book. Luke is truly the perfect Daddy, he truly cared, commanded, and dominated Ace in the perfect Daddy way ever. It wasn’t cringe, or pushy, or OTT. As for the obsession trope, I don’t think I have ever read a book with a more accurate? Or realistic? obsession ever. It wasn’t cheesy or makes you want to roll your eyes. It was all presented in amazing writing. Now my favorite part about all this is the intensity in Ace’s and Luke’s feelings, that raw passion, love, and desire that I saw truly left a mark. Don’t get me started on how they understood each other to the core, how they read each other and accepted each other not only despite the darkness, but also because of it. The steam, the banter, the laughing out loud moments, it was truly amazing. ❤️🔥 These two were unhinged in the best way possible. Also, the side characters give a lot of richness to the book. God, the VanCourt brothers will be the death of me. 😩 Some memorable moments that I fell in love with: “Meticulously, I work on cleaning the blood away, all without gloves. It stains my fingers. I know better than that, but I don't care. It's his blood, which seems to make it okay, even though I have no idea what's living in it. If it's living in him, maybe it should live in me, too.”
“Luke helps me into my jacket, basically re-collaring me as my skin burns with the heat of his gaze.”
“But then his words played on repeat in my head. I'd walk into the underworld to retrieve you, princess. He meant it. I know he did. That's the kind of commitment I want. I want someone who will burn the world down for me.”
“In a relationship, I want that same edge. I want to be broken down, ripped open, reduced to my essence.”
“He's not soft or fragile. He chose me not in spite of the way I dominate him, but because of it. I don't need to rein myself in for Ace; he wants the full force of me. He loves it. My strictness doesn't cage him in; it lifts him up.”
