This story is enjoyable, and a sweet twist to normally dark mafia romance.
Enzo and Molly are good together. And Enzo's affection shines easily. Just as Molly's doubt and confusion does. There is just enough undercurrents to know there is danger, but not so much it takes away from the story.
The main problem is, there are multiple issues that needed to be edited before the book was released. There are whole paragraphs missing when they are first intimate; enough to confuse the readers. (...wait, how did we get here?) We have to back up at that point to try and understand, but when you do, there nothing there to explain anything.
There are other places where the words make absolutely no sense. As if the original words were switched around, but the final print had you frowning. ('Next' instead of 'neck'? Maybe?)
More stars would have been given, had we not had to often stop and work our way through confusion. The story itself is nice.
Accidentally read book two first and honestly? No regrets. 😂
Classic me — diving into Corrupted by the Capo without realising it was a second book and enjoying it so much I now have to go back and read book one. The sign of a good series honestly. 😅
Kaye Blue’s writing is immediately accessible — easy, pacey, pulls you in fast. I appreciated that. The story moves quickly, the characters have a fun energy, and there’s just enough drama to keep things interesting without becoming exhausting.
Enzo and Molly are entertaining together, and I liked how their dynamic developed. That said — the drugging situation definitely warranted more than what we got in terms of accountability. I kept waiting for some grovel and it never really came. 😒 A small frustration in an otherwise enjoyable read.
But overall this was a good time — light mafia romance with personality and a writing style I’ll definitely be coming back to.
Enzo is a capo with the mafia. When he firsts sees Molly he is instantly attracted to her and becomes obsessed with her. when she is not with him he worries about what she is and if she is safe. He has never reacted this way to a woman before. Molly is sassy and stubborn. She does not give her heart away freely. When Enzo begins coming around her, she knows he could destroy her walls. He is dangerous but she feels safe around him. Can she let down her guard and trust him or should she continue to keep him at arms length. This was an enjoyable short read however I feel like there is a back story that we did not et the complete picture of. The current story hints around to it but never gives a complete picture.I love how tough Molly is and that she makes Enzo Fight for any of her affection. I also love how strong Molly is but still givens into Enzo’s dominance.
This storyline was very difficult to follow. 2.5 stars. It felt like the book starts in the middle of a longer story. The characters were not developed. In fact, the FMC was simply annoying. The mafia characters acted like wannabe bad boys. 2👎 for the nonexistent mafia angle. So many unanswered question...why was the FMC portrayed as an ABW (angry black woman)? It was off-putting. Her interaction with the MMC was ugh! Some of what is going on is explained in an earlier book. However, if the reader is unaware of the previous story this book is just confusing. I read the earlier book last year and while it sheds light on the main characters connection this book is still lacking.
This short novella has some cute banter and characterization but that’s about it. First of all, it’s pretty bad as a standalone because some main plot points don’t make sense if you haven’t read Enforcer’s Obsession. There’s just not enough exposition here. Second, if you *have* read Enforcer’s Obsession, this story makes even less sense because the timeline totally contradicts the other book. In EO, Molly is already hanging out with Enzo toward the end of the book, but in this book, they don’t meet (except for the club incident) until Hope’s wedding, which takes place between books. So which is it?
I love Molly and Enzo's banter, it's flirty, sarcastic, dirty and at times blunt...you cannot help but love them. He definitely spends more time in the shadows and darkness than the light, whereas Molly spreads light, and sarcasm, everywhere she goes. This is a fun addition to this series, it has darkness too, but this pales next to the verbal sparring between them. I read this on Kindle Unlimited.
Enzo took one look at Molly and he’s a goner. Instalove for him but not Molly. When someone tries to rob her Enzo is there. This is a quick read, mostly one point of view with Molly. There’s a bit of steam and a great happy ending. I enjoyed the story
I love how tough guys can be a mushy marshmallow. I loved everything about this book, except I wish these books were novel size more in-depth. Getting to spend just a few days in the life isn't enough.
Molly and Enzo, their story didn’t grab me at all. Some sweet moments, lots of the story just seem to be words for the sake of words Happy ending, no cheating
