This was such an addictive adventure! It’s a hidden gem of a book that you all need to check out 😍Airabeth is a dark fantasy with an incredible world-building that seems inspired by the Seven deadly sins.

Each powerful Master has a “sin” that they can control over the minds of humans (Cruelty, Warfare, Sickness, Fear…). They have become corrupted and want to control all humans and their souls. The humans that are still free in spirit and not affected by the power of the Masters are referred to as “Flames”. We follow the story of a woman Flame that is taken captive by the Masters and forced to face many deadly trials to save her family and her soul.

Perfect for fans of a dystopian-like setting similar to The Hunger Games with deadly trials. The story is quite dark, I was surprised by how emotional I got at times as I fiercely rooted for our female lead. The enemies to lovers is slow burn with a mix of of “he’s the villain isn’t he?”. I loved the dynamic between Avery and the Master of Cruelty (who is apperantly not so cruel after all 👀). He’s a master so she doesn’t know if she can trust him, isn’t he as evil as the rest of them? You’ll have to read to find out!

What you can expect:
✨slow burn enemies to lovers
✨Sibling bond
✨captive / captor
✨Unexpected allies
✨Dangerous trials
✨Underdog FMC

The Masters, or more known as Sacred Seven, rule the world. Sickness, Cruelty, Warfare, Addiction, Doubt, Fear and Obedience. Most of the people haven't seen them, but they all felt their spirits. They are torturing people's minds until they surrender. Taking their ability to think gains them more power. And that's how they divided people - Soulless, those who gave up easily and Flames, people who daily fight for their mind.

Nadia's family is being haunted. Being a Flame is not easy after all, they have to lie, steal and cheat in order to keep their identity hidden. But when one mistake results with her brother's death, she must make a deal with the Sacred Seven to save her family.

Welcome to Airabeth! Let the battle for your mind begin!

Sometimes you read a book like this masterpiece and all of a sudden you remember why you are reading. You are reminded that books can take you places and touch your soul in a way only readers can understand.

I started Airabeth without any expectations, but I was blown away from how good it actually is. The world building, the character developing, the plot, the writing style, everything is flawless.

I love how The Masters represent the feelings and emotions that live inside every single person. It's a perfect metaphor for the daily battles us humans have inside our head. Very smart imagined and beautifully put on paper.

Nadia is my favorite female character I've ever met in a book. Brave enough to face the Sacred Seven and smart enough to win their wicked games. She was fighting with everything she had, even thought she couldn't see the light. But most importantly, she fought the demons in her mind. And we all know how cruel of a war they can put.

And, if you know me you probably guessed by now that Cruelty is my new book boyfriend. I'm OBSESSED with him and the relationship between him and Nadia. It is my favorite part of the book. Real, raw, sparkly and scary at the same time. I will never shut up about him. Ever! My kind of enemies to lovers, I adore chapter 26 with all my heart!

The Masters are shown almost... well... attractive. They have beautiful facades that lure us in almost immediately. The ugliness of their soul comes to the surface when it's too late for us to ditch them. I love this metaphor that goes parallel with the real world. The author created one fictive world, but not so far from our.

I'm so impressed of how JoJo gave life to this story. I could vividly imagine everything, like I am a part of it, shoulder to shoulder with Nadia. Furthermore, I often caught myself thinking about the story, even when I wasn't reading it. Almost like it was calling my name, begging me to continue reading.

And I can talk about this book for days, weeks and months. But I'll never even come close to capturing its beauty, depth and power. Very beautiful writing style, rich vocabulary and a genius idea for the story. Perfect combo for a fantastic read. For my favorite read of all-time! Even if you don't read this genre, I'm begging you to pick it up. You will be surprised of how fast it will capture your heart.

I am amazed that this book is a DEBUT novel. It is insane how much talent JoJo has. Can't wait to read everything she is willing to share with us.

,,Airabeth" is a captivating and addictive story. Story about the choices we make and how they will haunt us for the rest of our lives. Story about real love and how we can find it in the darkest place. Story about one brave girl who will completely change the trajectory and one man who will silently fall for her. It is a story about the titles the society give us and how they don't really define us. A story about empathy and kind heart, and how it's possible to maintain them, even in the darkest and muddiest environment.

This is a book that should be mandatory read for everyone. A book that will become classic. And, oh, how lucky am I to be here from the very beginning. Thank you so much JoJo for this wonderful story. I'm so proud of you for believing in yourself. Please never stop writing, I'll always be your first reader. ✨️

To be a Flame is to resist the Masters.
To resist the Masters means torment and death. If you’re caught.
And when Nadia’s eldest brother is caught, she’s willing to do anything to save her remaining family. Like participate in the deadly Tests or trust a Master. One of the very beings she was raised to mistrust and resist.

To say I enjoyed Airabeth would be an understatement. This little jewel of a book was a hidden surprise that I hope more people will pick up and enjoy. It has the best elements of Fantasy, with some nostalgic elements that call back to series that have become all-time favorites—like ACOTAR, An Ember in the Ashes and Divergent—without losing its originality and voice.

The author did an excellent job at setting up the bleak world in which Nadia and her siblings live in. The worldbuilding was paced wonderfully within the story, in a way that we got to know the characters and the world simultaneously, so it did not feel overwhelming. The world is dominated by the seven Masters, who manipulate humans into following their worst instincts to exercise control. Those who submit are the Soulless, those instead who recognize and resist the Masters’ manipulations are the Flames. But being a Flame comes with its own obstacles when food and work is scarce, the strong prey on the weak, and the Soulless do the Master’s bidding.

Flame vs Soulless. Emperors vs. Masters. At a first glance, one would think that the divide between good and evil is stark, but the deeper you dive into the story, the more things are complex. There was good in the Masters—and I shall say no more on this—and Flames aren’t always the paragon of virtue and goodness. They’re simply human, with their vices and virtues. Take Nadia’s sister and her boyfriend. The way they acted, you would think they were one step from being Soulless themselves. This was perhaps one of my favorite things about this story, aside from the obvious—characters, and romance.

I loved Nadia and Cruelty. They were surprising, sweet, and constantly kept me on my toes because as much as I wanted to love Cruelty, I couldn’t help but feel a little bit of Nadia’s obvious mistrust. I mean, he is the Master of Cruelty, after all. I also loved characters like Sasha and Tuesday. Tuesday especially was such a strong character who endured quite a lot of torment at the Masters’ hands. I felt both grief and awe whenever she was on page.

The final part of the book was surprising and made me feel all of the emotions. I wasn’t expecting anything of what went down, and I finished the book feeling both excited and devasted. I seriously need the sequel!

Airabeth is written by JoJo Bee. A novel that talks about Nadia who is the main character of the story. Nadia is a middle child and is from a town called Tempest. The story begins when Nadia together with her brother Elisha is at the forest. As a clever and independent one, Nadia tries to fight the voice inside her head that was set up by her “Master”. While walking at the forest, Nadia realizes that she is not alone. Besides flames there is also another entity (soulless) who serves a group of a higher entity (emperors). Reaching home, Nadia’s inner thoughts awakens her heart. The past secret that she tries to run away from suddenly emerges as she looks at Diana who is her sister. Diana irritates Nadia because of the fact that she did nothing when their parents were taken from them. At one certain time while Nadia was with the boyfriend of her sister, the master who took away her parents knocks on their door once more taking his life. That was just the beginning of the death that she had witnessed. The shy and uncertain Nadia takes a leap of faith to conquer her fears. From her little town (Tempest), she started to travel to Airabeth where more deaths and tests were presented in front of her in order for her to save her siblings that were taken.

JoJo Bee writes in a convincing manner showing that there is still hope and a new life after the darkest hours. I did personally enjoy that JoJo Bee writes at the perspective of Nadia first before allowing the other supporting characters a chance to speak and to be allowed to express their thoughts. Also, the names that was chosen while Nadia was at Airabeth created a picture of what the environment was without the necessity of using complicated words. Honestly, at first, I thought that the novel has any other works that were written and published but I remained and continued reading only to realize that the novel is unique and the first story that I have ever read so far. Highly recommended for readers who are experiencing fast and difficult challenges in their lives knowing that there are still people who are willing to be with you in your journey.

This debut fantasy novel swept me into a brutal world of twisted power, dangerous trials, and an underdog FMC who refuses to back down.

Nadia is a Flame—a rare human resistant to the manipulative powers of the Sacred Seven Masters, who dominate with fear, sickness, cruelty, and more.

When her family’s cover is blown, resulting in her brother’s death, Nadia strikes a desperate deal to save her remaining siblings.

But saving them means surviving the Masters' deadly Trials—treacherous challenges filled with savage creatures, mental manipulation, and alliances as shaky as her trust in the enemy who might be her only hope.

What You’ll Love:
🔥Enemies-to-Lovers Slow Burn: Cruelty isn’t just a title—it’s his nature, or is it? Watching Nadia navigate her growing mistrust (and maybe feelings 👀) for a Master is deliciously tense and complicated.
🔥Sibling Bond: Nadia’s fierce determination to protect her family had me tearing up. Her sacrifices hit hard.
🔥Dangerous Trials: Think arena battles, mind-bending mazes, and life-or-death decisions at every turn.
🔥A World Rich in Dark Intrigue: The Masters’ sins-based powers? Chilling. Flames and Soulless locked in a never-ending cycle of rebellion and control? Complex and captivating.
🔥Twists That Break You: Just when you think Nadia’s safe, JoJo Bee says, Not so fast. That ending had me screaming.

🖤 Nadia is a gritty, determined heroine who feels so real—she doubts, she grieves, and she’s so human. But my heart? It’s torn between rooting for her survival and side-eying Cruelty every time he does something infuriatingly kind.

📖 Airabeth is a masterclass in balancing action-packed fantasy with deep emotional stakes. Add in a sprinkle of romance, and you’ve got a book you won’t put down.

Tropes to Love:

The characters in this narrative are remarkably well-developed, each exhibiting a rich tapestry of traits that encompass the full spectrum of human experience. They are mysterious, embodying both good and evil, and display a steadfast determination that resonates deeply with readers. These characters are not only relatable but also complex and beautifully flawed, showcasing the various sides and emotions inherent in the human condition.

At the heart of this story is Nadia, who stands out as a powerhouse of resilience and strength. She is portrayed as a determined and complex main character, drawing readers into her journey with an intensity that compels them to root for her, cheer her on, and support her every step of the way until the very end. Nadia exemplifies a strong female lead who is formidable both in mind and body, yet she is also beautifully flawed and vulnerable. This duality allows readers to reflect on their own lives, fostering a sense of growth and relatability. Her struggles and triumphs resonate on a personal level, prompting readers to consider their own challenges and victories.

The other main characters, particularly the masters and emperors, play a crucial role in shaping the narrative's tension and intrigue. These characters are not merely evil; they are complex figures shrouded in mystery, constantly keeping readers guessing about their next moves. Their motivations and actions are pivotal to the story, serving as a compelling counterbalance to Nadia's journey. The intricacies of their villainy add depth to the plot, making them essential to the overall narrative arc.

Moreover, the side characters—ranging from Nadia's family to the friends she makes along her journey, as well as those who suffer alongside her—serve to heighten the stakes of her mission. Each character contributes uniquely to the emotional landscape of the story, enriching the plot and character development. Their presence amplifies the challenges Nadia faces, making her journey not only a personal one but also a communal struggle that reflects broader themes of loyalty, sacrifice, and resilience.

The settings in which these characters operate are crafted with care, offering a simple yet detailed backdrop that is filled with emotion and action. Each location is imbued with significance, bringing the story to life in vivid detail. The atmosphere is not just a passive backdrop; it actively shapes the characters' experiences and decisions, enhancing the reader's immersion in the narrative.

The writing style is engaging and entertaining, striking a balance between simplicity and complexity. It effectively captures the intricacies of the characters and the unfolding story, allowing readers to feel and visualize the emotions and surroundings deeply. This immersive quality makes readers feel as though they are living the characters' experiences alongside them, fostering a strong emotional connection to the narrative.

The plot itself is a masterful blend of complexity and simplicity, filled with action, adventure, betrayal, manipulation, war, violence, power struggles, and intricate family dynamics. These elements intertwine to create a narrative that keeps readers on the edge of their seats, compelling them to continue reading to uncover what will happen next and whether the characters will emerge unscathed from their trials.

In addition to the thrilling plot, the slow-burn romance between Nadia and one of the masters is well-developed. Readers are given the opportunity to witness the evolution of their connection, which unfolds naturally amid the challenges they both face. The pressures from their surroundings and the weight of their responsibilities add layers to their relationship, making it all the more poignant and relatable.

Throughout the narrative, there are profound lessons on trust, betrayal, friendship, and the importance of family—both biological and chosen. The exploration of mental health and emotional struggles serves as a reminder of the complexities of being human. These themes resonate deeply, inviting readers to reflect on their own lives and relationships.

While the novel is rich in many aspects, one point of critique is the desire for more background on the masters, the antagonists of the story. Understanding how and why they became the villains they are, as well as the origins of the powers they wield against humanity, would add an additional layer of depth to the narrative. However, the author provides enough detail to maintain intrigue and entertain, leaving readers eager to learn more about these characters in future installments.

"Airabeth" by Jojo Bee is an intricate, entertaining, and action-packed debut novel that captivates readers from start to finish. It inspires awe and reflection while leaving them yearning for the sequel as soon as it is published. The blend of well-developed characters, immersive settings, and a compelling plot makes this story a remarkable addition to the literary landscape, ensuring it will resonate with readers long after they turn the last page.

I received Airabeth directly from the author as an eARC after she reached out to me on social media. I am grateful for the opportunity to enjoy this book, which offers a super interesting story and world! It is rooted in good vs evil with the 7 Masters reflecting sins and the 7 emperors reflecting virtues. In this world, the humans are left to struggle to maintain control of their own minds as the masters try to corrupt them with their power and influence. The corrupted become soulless, and they hunt the uncorrupted, called the flames.

The FMC was a strong flame, and I enjoyed watching her rise above every obstacle that got thrown at her… sometimes with help from her friends. Her trials were absolutely brutal and intense, forcing her to endure pain and suffering on so many levels. I could definitely have done without the giant spider though 😂

I grew to love the MMC and the gentle unmasked side of him that only she got to see. This book is definitely far more fantasy forward as opposed to romance, so it is very much a slow burn with zero spice. While there is a bit of a romantic subplot kicking in, they don’t even share a kiss at this point in the story. It definitely left me craving so much more between them, which hopefully will come in the next book.

I loved the underlying messages of believing in yourself and overcoming difficult things, including paralyzing fear. It’s a great reminder that our thoughts and beliefs hold an incredible amount of power in our lives, and it’s important we cultivate them with intention ❤️‍🔥

Overall, this was a great debut! Sadly, I spoiled myself with one of the big twists by seeing posts about book two on the author’s IG, so the emotional impact of that twist didn’t land the way it probably would have otherwise 😅 The ending sets things up nicely for book two, and I’m so curious to see where things lead!

Some favourite quotes:

“But life isn’t meant to be endured, it’s meant to be enjoyed, and I don’t want to spend the rest of my life merely surviving.”

“Never meditate on subjects you don’t truly desire. You’d be surprised how often those wishes come true.”

“Grief is like an ocean,” he says. “It comes in waves. Sometimes it’s calm, hardly noticeable. Other times, it’s violent, overwhelming, and unexplainably harsh. But you can’t control the tides, or the current. All you can do is learn how to swim through the storm, because eventually, the water will settle.”

I cannot thank the author enough for sharing her story with me as I loved it!

The book is based on an angel vs demons scenario.

After the major war between good and evil, The Emperors have left Earth and the Sacred Seven now rule the world - Cruelty, Warfare, Obedience, Sickness, Doubt, Addiction and Fear.

The Sacred Sevens (also called Masters) have the ability to enter human’s mind, corrupting souls by having people give into their own cruelty and selfishness.
The more a person gives in, the more their soul is lost to the Masters forever.

Still, there are humans who continue to be strong enough to avoid corruption - they are called Flames, and as you can imagine they’re hunt down by the Masters.

Nadia is a Flame living amongst Soulless, keeping her head down and just surviving with her family.
After her family is exposed and put at risk, she bargains with the Masters to win their freedom back.

She so moves into the Masters estate as a slave, where she will be subject to one trial per Master.
If she wins all trials, she will be granted her own freedom as well as her family’s and other Flames’.

Will Nadia survive the trials? Is her body, but mostly her mind, strong enough?

Now for my comments-

Nadia is a great heroin.
She’s strong and selfless for the ones she loves. Her devotion for her family is clear, while she’s also honest in acknowledging their downfalls as individuals.
She works hard and is not cocky about her abilities.
While Nadia is always ready to fight, she’s also smart enough not to take unnecessary risks when she knows she can’t win.
Overall I really liked her.

I absolutely loved the trials.
The mind manipulation is really well portrayed, and while this is a clear common theme in each trial, I also did recognise the uniqueness of each, as they’re tailored to the specific Master they represent.

I found there is little side character interaction in the book, while the ones we meet are all absolutely pivotal to the story, shaping Nadia’s character page after page.
While we don’t get to know them much as individuals, we can clearly see how they impact our main character.

The ending also got me reeling! While I understand “why it happened”, I now can’t wait for the next book for some revenge and redemption!

Overall this was a great little gem I had sadly not come across before!

This was such a fun, action packed adventure that had me on the edge of my couch the entire time!

This story follows Nadia, who is a human who can resist the mind control of the Sacred Seven Masters. Her kind are called Flames and are in hiding, as these masters are on a mission to capture and wipe their kind out. These seven masters all have their own unique ability that can be used to manipulate and control people. After watching her brother be killed, Nadia is forced to make a deal with Warfare, one of the Seven Masters, to try to save her twin brother and sister. This deal forces her to travel to Airabeth and go through the trials the masters have set for her. Her only chance at freedom and saving her family is to survive the seven deadly trials.

The world building was so much fun to read! You have such a unique world that is split between the masters and the emperors and who each group believes in. It really made the story that much more interesting to read and to see how things unfolded, and the history behind the two rivaling factions/immortals.

Then there’s Nadia, who is one of my favorite characters. Not only does she have the weight of the world on her shoulders with needing to pass the trials and stay alive, but she also is one of the sole providers for her siblings and has to do everything and anything she can to provide for them. She literally would go to the ends of the earth for her family and those she loves, and seeing her stick up and fight for them again and again really made the story so much fun to read!!

Plus these twists?!! Just when I thought the story was going one way, things would take a turn, and the story would shake up. I loved every second of it! Plus that ending?! I need to know what happens!!

"No one likes an easy story where the characters don't suffer or go through hardships, because that's not real life. Real life is difficult and messy, and sometimes unbearable, but the beauty of books isn't to highlight the tough parts of human existence. It's to point out that those tough times can be beaten."

This story was impactful from the start. It shows the dystruction of what the human mind is capable of if we let go of our humanity and give in to our cruel and dark desires. If we do what is easy rather than what is right.

The author seamlessly drops context to build the world, the structure, and the interactions. She has a good ratio with action, diologue, and inner monologue, and i didn't find it lacking. Everything moved at a steady pace until each trial which were pact full of action.

Airbeth is a unique dystopian world that has an original power system of which the sacred seven rule for darkness. We follow nadia as she sets out to pass the seven tests for not only her freedom but also that of her remaining family members and other flames.

The trials in which she is tested cause her own mind/thought/feelings to go against her. Making her own brain a disorientating place to be as she tries to pass physical tasks.

Despite it being a dark dystopian read, there are plenty of wholesome moments. The siblings bonds with each other, the friendship she grows, the trust that Nadia and cruelty grow between one another.

The end battle was so satisfying. It was rounded up nicely for the ending that didn't leave anything missing but more leading to the next. The last line definitely draws you into the next book, and im excited to read more.

. “Sure, things are hard, but we’re capable of handling hard things.”
❤️I love the pic me up line.

"Liar,” he says, and flicks the tip of my nose, startling me. “Your nostrils always flare when you’re lying.”
❤️ I love this scene and what it led to.

"All humans are born evil, but are taught to be good. They can choose to be kind or malevolent, but they always choose malevolence. Why is that, do you think?” He pauses for half a second, not wanting my answer. “Because it’s easy, Cruelty. It’s easy to be selfish, and mean, and cruel, and uncaring because that’s how mortals are, and sooner or later you’re going to realize that we did the right thing —”
❤️i found this so impactful because at its base, it's very true about human nature.

This book is truly amazing. The ending, omg. I am totally at a lost for words with how much I loved this book. I cannot wait for Jarabelle to release!!

This story is amazing. The first chapter is such a strong introduction to this book, it definitely sets up the vibe for this book so well and totally captivates you. I really loved the world, I think its so unique and definitely introduced very well, I loved the more gradual learning of the world overtime, as we learn more about the masters and emperors along with the main character. I really loved the main character, Nadia (Sunday). I think her character is so strong willed, especially after absolutely everything she has been through, omg I love her. Her growth throughout this book was written so well, and I just loved how well she did with each challenge thrown her way, especially because those challenges by the masters were brutal. These challenges, as well, were so intense, I was on the edge of my seat reading each one. I really loved Cruelty’s character as the mmc, you could tell he wasn’t like the other masters from the start, and his like gentleness energy towards Nadia is so sweet, like he notices everything about her, ahh. And that twist in chapter 45, um excuse me, I did not see that coming at all and I absolutely loved it. And now I’m definitely so curious as to what is Sickness’ plan? (I really disliked Sickness, I could honestly feel the grossness from him through the book). I loved our main side characters, Tuesday, December, and January. I hope her and Tuesday reconcile because I really loved Tuesday’s character. I also adored Nadia’s siblings, Elisha and Sasha (not Diana), I do hope we see more of her and Elisha together in the next book, poor guy had a rough time in the first few chapters.

I have so so many questions with this book, like how will the Sacred Seven get back? Nadia and Cruelty? Ahh, I just had so much fun reading this book. I mean every chapter was written so well and was so exciting, I really liked the pacing in this book, and it was just so hard to put down. I truly loved it and I cannot wait for book two!

Airabeth is a dark fantasy by Jojo Bee. This book was brutal! The first fantasy book I've read to leave me with such a mix of emotions. With tragedy and emotional damage and thought-provoking circumstances. I was bawling my eyes out at some moments while in deep contenplation at others.
A story where seven Masters rule over humans, splitting them into two groups, Soulless and Flame. They are determined to see humanity fail, believing humans will always choose themselves and the easy route over whats right. Nadia, the FMC, finds herself face to face with one of these Masters and is forced between two choices. Choosing wrong could cost her and the ones she loves. Her choice; to complete seven tests where her willpower to safeguard her mind and resist the influence to become a soulless would be tested. But when all odds are against her, she finds an unlikely ally.
Nadias love for her family and fierce determination to fight against wrong made her character easy to love. While I hated to love the MMC, Cruelty. His character was the definition of the villain being the hero.
All of the characters were well developed, and I loved to hate some, while others will be etched into my memory forever, like her brother Sasha. With tension, betrayal, found family, tragedy, yearning, and constant action, I couldn't put the book down.
I absolutely loved this book and can't believe it's been out this long without hearing about it! This quote sums up the book perfectly. "No one likes an easy story where the characters dont suffer or go through hardships because that's not real life. Real life is difficult and messy and sometimes unbearable, but the beauty of books isn't to highlight the tough parts of human existence. It's to point out that those tough times can be beaten." Airabeth completely pulled me in from the start. As JoJo Bee’s debut novel, it left me excited to see where this series goes next.

The story follows Nadia, a rebellious young woman trying to survive under the rule of the Sacred Seven; immortal Masters who embody concepts like Cruelty, Fear, and Warfare. After a devastating tragedy changes everything, Nadia is forced into a dangerous bargain that leads her into a series of deadly Tests where survival is anything but guaranteed.

My favorite part of this book was Nadia herself. She’s grieving, angry, determined, and flawed in ways that made her feel incredibly real. I found myself emotionally invested in her journey and rooting for her every step of the way.

The slow-burn enemies-to-lovers romance was another highlight. The tension between Nadia and one of the Masters was exactly what I wanted, emotional, complicated, and woven naturally into the story without taking over the plot.

The Tests kept the pages turning, and there were several moments that genuinely broke my heart. Between the action, emotional stakes, and constant uncertainty, I had a hard time putting this book down.

While I enjoyed the world and the overall concept behind the Sacred Seven, I did find myself wanting a little more depth in some areas of the lore and side characters. That said, this is the first book in a series, and it laid a strong foundation for what’s to come.

If you enjoy deadly trials, strong heroines, rebellion-driven fantasy, and romance with real emotional weight, I highly recommend Airabeth. It’s an impressive debut, and I’ll definitely be picking up Jarabelle when it releases.

Y’all, if there’s one book that needs to be on your radar, it’s "Airabeth" by Jojo Bee. This thrilling novel is an absolute page-turner that takes you on an unforgettable ride through a world filled with danger, courage, and hope. From the very first page, I was completely hooked!

"Airabeth" is set in a dark and dangerous realm ruled by the corrupt Masters, who embody the Seven Deadly Sins. Our protagonist, Nadia, is a Flame—a rare individual with the power to resist the Masters’ manipulations. After her brother’s tragic death, Nadia must face a series of deadly trials to protect her family and ignite a spark of rebellion. This book will have you on the edge of your seat and biting your nails and flipping the pages like a maniac!
.
This novel has everything I love: a strong female lead, a slow-burn enemies-to-lovers romance, and an intricate plot filled with twists and turns. Nadia is such a relatable character, balancing her inner strength with moments of vulnerability. And the dynamic between her and the Master of Cruelty is electric! You can’t help but be drawn to their complex relationship, questioning every moment if Nadia can trust him.

One of my favourite features of "Airabeth" was its marvellous world-building. Jojo Bee creates an arresting picture of a world split between the Flames and the Soulless, emphasising the strength of the human soul. This universe comes to life so easily and in the most intriguing structure that has allowed me to get fully immersed in the plot.

Omgoodness, I just finished Airabeth by Jojo Bee, and it was truly an addictive read!

4.5/5 ⭐️

The concept of this book was fascinating, a dark fantasy that hooks you from the very beginning.

The story follows Nadia, a young woman who is strong in both mind and body as she navigates trauma, loss, and a world ruled by the "Masters," (beings who seem to embody the seven deadly sins). With positive emotions suppressed and people manipulated into turning on themselves and one another, hope has become a rare and precious thing.

This is a story of bravery, family, love, hope, fear, and the courage to fight for what is right, even when the odds seem impossible.

One of my favourite aspects of the book was its focus on the power of the mind. Nadia's ability to train and control her thoughts becomes one of her greatest strengths against the Masters, and I found that theme incredibly compelling throughout the story.

While I would have loved a little more development between the love interests before their relationship came to fruition, the story continued to reveal new layers and details, leaving me excited to learn more about their connection in future books.

Jojo has a talent for painting vivid scenes with her writing. There were several moments that gave me genuine physical reactions as I read, which is always a sign that a story has pulled me completely into its world.

I would absolutely recommend Airabeth to fantasy readers looking for something unique. It's a hidden little gem that deserves more attention.

First off - loved, loved, loved this book!

Airabeth by Jojo Bee is a captivating breath of fresh air that had me glued to the pages from start to finish. I was bummed when it ended! Nadia, the protagonist, is thrust into a desperate situation and forced to make difficult choices to save her family. She is strong-willed and determined with a touch of humility that makes her likable and easy to root for.

I found myself genuinely invested in all the characters. Bee's ability to draw the reader into Nadia's world is a true strength because I was just absolutely engulfed in her journey. The high-stakes competition and unexpected twists kept me guessing and wanting more. SO entertaining! While the competition aspect might evoke comparisons to The Hunger Games, and has a similar dystopian setting to some YA books out there, Airabeth offers a completely new and captivating world with its unique rules and challenges.

The repetition of words from Nadia's inner thoughts was a bit distracting. (like 'gone. gone. gone.' or 'again. again. again' etc) It occasionally disrupted the flow of the narrative.

Final Thoughts:

Airabeth is a thrilling and thought-provoking fantasy. Despite the occasional repetition, the well-developed characters, imaginative plot, and exploration of universal themes like rebellion, family, and hope make this a must-read. The story's satisfying conclusion leaves you wanting more, and I eagerly await a sequel. (please hurry with part two!!!)

What an epic debut! Inspired by the Seven Deadly Sins, I was completely enthralled with this story. With scenes reminiscent of familiar loved fantasies, this story is still so original and unique and I loved it!

The Master’s, or the Sacred Seven, believe the be the true Gods and they can control the minds of humans in hopes of gaining their soul, for power. We have Nadia who is a Flame and can resist the stronghold. Most humans are considered a Soulless and therefore controlled but when Nadia’s brother is taken, she herself must go to Airabeth to partake in Tests to determine how bright her soul truly shines. Can she beat the tests and save her family along with a list of other Flames?

I loved the idea of using the Seven Dealy Sims as inspiration for The Master’s. We have Sickness, Cruelty, Warfare, Addiction, Doubt, Fear, and Obedience. Only other book I’ve read that had a similar strategy was The Bone Orchard (also recommend). Nadia our FMC was resilient and so endearing at times and was definitely a character to root for.

We have a dystopian type future with the Tests and the dark fantasy adventure to go along with a very slow burn enemies-to-lovers romance. I adored the side characters and the strength they carried as well. I’m looking at you Tuesday. 👀 This world is complex but beautiful.

With themes of grief, perseverance, family, and hope, this was a fantastic review and I’m looking forward to see where the story takes us.

Airabeth is a new fantasy adventure by Jojo Bee. This is a new author for me, and I was excited to dive into this book. It definitely grabbed my attention from the very first pages and kept me interested until the very end.

This story centers around Nadia, a Flame who is hiding with her family because her kind are being hunted. When one of the Sacred Seven discovers her, she finds herself thrust into a world where she has to complete tests to keep both her and her loved ones safe from harm. Everything is not as it seems in Airabeth though, and she becomes unsure of who her enemies really are.

I really enjoyed the overall plot of this book. It does have alot of similarity to other books in this genre, but nevertheless, it was an interesting read. I found the characters to be very intriguing and are what really made this book shine for me. I did find the world building to be a little confusing in the beginning, and while I eventually figured things out, I would have like a clearer picture from the beginning of this new world.

This one does end on a bit of a cliffhanger, and I am not sure if this will become a series or not, but I am interested in seeing what happens for Nadia next. Definitely give this book a try if you love epic fantasy adventures!

What a beautiful way to get introduced to a new author. This book absolutely grabbed me and never let me go. This a very dark fantasy in which the world resembles the elements of the Seven Deadly Sins. The world-building and magic system felt super unique, with seven masters who have a sin they can control over humans' minds.

Nadia is a "Flame", which is the name that is given to humans who still have control over their minds and do not want to submit to the corrupted masters. Trying to save her family, Nadia becomes a captive of the masters and will need to go through several deadly trials so she can be free and reunite with her loved ones.

This was a truly dark story with emotional moments that caught me off guard, and twists that made the plot absolutely interesting. This fantasy also has a slow-burning story between Nadia and the Master of Cruelty. Their connection is so unexpected, and as I went through the book, I couldn't help but fall in love with him.

The ending was so exciting and emotional that I'm thankful that the second book is coming soon, because I can't wait to immerse myself in this world again. Thank you, Jojo Bee, for the gifted copy.

Airabeth by Jojo Bee is a novel about a girl named Nadia. The book begins with Nadia and her brother in the forest, and follows them as she fights for herself and her family.

The first three chapters were so action packed that it was kind of jarring, and the way it started was also like i just fell into a story with no context.

I loved Jojo’s writing style, and how it fully encapsulated the main characters feeling and thoughts without it being repetitive.

After a couple days of thinking about my rating for it I’m gonna give this book 3.5 stars. I can’t wait to read more of Jojo Bee’s writing in the future, because if her writing style is this good and strong now she’s gonna be even better in the future

I didnt know what to expect with Airabeth and I was shockingly surprised, in a good way.

Nadia has a rough life and Jojo throws us right into her brutal reality. Freedom must be fought for.

The Sacred Seven: Warefare, Sickness, Doubt, Obedience, Cruelty, Addiction, and Fear. These are the masters of the human world, pushing humans to the brink with afflictions. Humans only have one escape, to submit and become a Souless.

Nadia and her family are fighters, and she will not give in to the mental Strongholds from the Sacred Seven.

This story was gruesome, bloddy, dark, but I loved every minute of it. The trials and brief tender moments had an elegant balance that leave me wanting more.

What will happen to Cruelty and Nadia in book 2?

I received a message from the Author on my Instagram offering me an ARC, when I read the brief description they sent, I instantly knew I would love it! It’s taken me a lot longer to read than normal, but only because June has been a busy month! But any spare time I have had I opened up the ARC and read as much as I could!

I loved it soo much, I was hooked from the very beginning, it’s been a while since a book has hooked me immediately 🫣 I struggled to put it down even with how late it was getting in the evenings when I was able to carry on reading! After 50% I started picking up at the most random times because I couldn’t pull myself away🤣

I always love finding new fantasy books and authors to obsess over, Thankyou JoJo for this wonderful ARC. I need book 2 now please 🙏🏼 📚

I really loved Nadia and Cruelty as characters and enjoyed how their stories entwined. I’m so glad that we got to see things from Cruelty’s perspective, even if it was only for a little bit.

4.5 ⭐️!
Jojo Bee author suggested this to me and I’m so glad I picked it up!!! You’re thrown into a brutal world in this story. There are seven masters who are cruel and who take over your mind humans are divided into souless (can be manipulated)or flames (keep control of their minds). Nadia she’s trying to save her family and she’s taken to Airabeth with the masters and thrown into trials. Every trial is impossible, and every victory comes with a cost. But there is something else where she realizes that not all the masters are what they seem.
This book is brutal and dark with high stakes and slow burn. Tragedy and forbidden feelings. Great read!!

This is Volume 1 of The Sacred Seven series and I cannot wait to read the rest. I am so grateful to JoJo Bee for reaching out to me to read this story. The tropes and blurb absolutely sounded like something I'd devour and it did not disappoint. We follow Nadia in a dystopian society where the Emperors are gone, replaced by corrupt Masters who can manipulate and extinguish minds. Nadia's family are struggling to survive in society as it is and loss is never far away. Nadia finds herself battling for her life and her family in deadly trials. This book covered so many emotions and really showed people aren't always as they seem.
