To say I'm giving this volume five stars feels absolutely shocking to me!
I still vividly remember how, for months of waiting for this final volume to be released and thinking that I really I wouldn't like it, but here we are with me deeply enjoying it!
Were there some parts of this volume I wasn't a huge fan of?
Yes, but honestly, I feel what pushed me to give this five stars is that Usa remained true to herself until the very end. Seeing her give more and more genuine thought and ultimately face these guys head-on like she wanted was heartbreaking but also deeply rewarding as a reader. I felt she was still pretty oblivious, but she also realized that her demands at the end WERE selfish, and I think that spoke a lot about the growth she made.
I'm unsure of what to say about the guys without giving spoilers, except this was an exceptionally well-written ending. I have to laugh at one of the end comics because it really did almost feel like a poly relationship more than anything! LOL! I don't ultimately feel it was because Usa makes her feelings clear about WHO she is choosing, but the way nothing seemed to SUPER change surprisingly made it funny up to the very final page.
Overall, I never thought I would keep this series in my collection after reading it, but I definitely will! I even look forward to coming back to it again, and eagerly hope we get more of this creator's work in English!
I would recommend this if you like over-the-top stories with oblivious, but genuine heroines, and enjoy the childhood friends-to-lovers trope, but want some flair!
I knew I wasn’t gonna be happy with the ending bc the buildup was so good but wow. She was incredibly selfish in what she did and while one of them is really manipulative it’s still just so disappointing especially because there’s no other like heart beating out of chest moments which I think would’ve been way better bc your body tells you more than you think. So all that buildup for no payoff, her making a very selfish decision and honestly the rejected one fucking himself over for love in the future by making his own selfish decisions. It’s important to note that romantic feelings can change to platonic but still. I’ll be selling this series.
