WEDDING BELLS AND BULLET SHELLSWakana and Kunimitsu are officially engaged and more passionately in love than ever. Yet the road to wedded bliss is full of obstacles, starting with Wakana's failed attempts to win over Kunimitsu's family and circle of friends. Things come to a head, though, when her beloved fiance is whisked away by a jealous arranged marriage partner of his parents' choosing. Will Wakana find the strength within her to steal him back? Or will she lose Kunimitsu to this new alpha rival?
You have to be in the right mood to read stories like these… Otherwise, you will cringe hard lol. But I still like it anyway. It’s definitely not a “deep” story that will change your life but it’s fun.
what a crazy dramatic volume. reminded me a bit of yakuza fiancé 😆 with the kidnapping and family drama. still loving the art especially, and the main couple definitely haven’t lost their spark even after settling into an established relationship!! 🔥🔥

3.5ish * The artist is really good. The story is...kind of all over the place. I wish they'd picked one subplot and expanded on it instead of bouncing across the 3+ in this volume. I think the next volume is the final, so I'll pick it up to finish the series out, but probably wouldn't have if this was going to be a long series.
Content note for attempted rape (not between the MCs) and kidnapping.
《- So... where's Sayuri? - SHE RAN AWAY. - Huh? - When I told her you were bringing a woman with you and wanted to talk marriage... She said, "I'm not meeting some omega bitch!" - "Omega bitch"... - That old hag... And yet she's an omega herself...》, p. 4-5
《I fell in love with Kunimitsu knowing he was part of the yakuza. I just accepted it. What exactly does that mean, though...? (Helping out with unsavory jobs? Not shrinking away if I see violence?) I wonder... if I'm really ready.》, p. 8
《- Don't worry. - Huh? - I'll convince Sayuri. She can be pretty brash, but she isn't a bad person. - Okay. - More importantly... Is this outfit really all right?! Is this gift enough?! Maybe I should go into that japanese confectionery shop and buy... - Kunimitsu, you aren't... NERVOUS ABOUT MEETING MY PARENTS, ARE YOU?! - I AM! - But you already told my parents we were dating?! Without even asking me first! - Dating and marriage are different! They'll definitely reject me...!》, p. 8-10
《- Wakana is our one and only precious daughter, and we've raised and loved her for twenty five-years. She's worked hard to achieve her childhood dream. We want the one she marries to be able to watch over her... And ensure she has a peaceful, loving marriage... [...] - I don't want my daughter to be put in any danger... That is my wish as her mother. - Of course, I would give my life to protect Wakana-san-- - No parent would want their child to be in a situation where someone would need to give their life for theirs to begin with...!》, p. 12-14
《- Sir, Ma'am, Tatara Kunimitsu has nothing to hide... He may be a yakuza, but he is also an informant for the CIO! - Infor... what? - An informant is someone who aids in an investigation. In other words, it wouldn't be out of the line to say he's my subordinate! - Who're you calling your subordinate, you ass...? - Would calling you a dog have been better?》, p. 15-16
《- Shinobu-kun, thank you. Because of you, my parents became more open-minded about our relationship... - Isn't your timing a little too convenient? - That's because I'm the lover of Wakana-chan's heart. I followed your Hawaii trip in a ministry of foreign affairs article. And I planted a listening device under a table inside Ramen Niikura! - YOU AUTHORITY-ABUSING STALKER!》, p. 17-18
《- My mind was so completely focused on you, and I knew it wasn't normal. I could already sense that I was falling for you... Ever since that moment, I knew this day would come.》, p. 24
《- My partner's heat is my reward. - But giving into such animalistic urges... is embarrassing... - Humans are animals to begin with.》, p. 26
《- Wakana... I won't ask you what's happening. But don't do anything stupid. - I won't.
Mom, dad, I'm sorry. I actually will be doing something stupid.》, p. 55-56
《- The Moushin Clan girl was pretty, wasn't she? - That bitch?!》, p. 78
《- It seems my plans... Have been ruined. - I'm the one who suffered... Thanks to your selfish machinations.》, p. 92-93
《- Hmph. You're less distasteful than before.》, p. 94
《- I also... Did the same. I pursued a man I fell in love with and ended up getting hurt... And yet, strangely enough, I haven't regretted it.》, p. 95
《- I'm relieved you're quick on the uptake. I can't stand idiots.》, p. 111
《- Okay. I'll handle the rest of the cleanup, so you get to bed soon. - Kunimitsu... you're so sweet. I LOVE YOU! - Don't hug me! You scared the hell outta me! - But I wanna kiss you! - I thought... you were tired.》, p. 117-118
《- I'll give you all that you want. In exchange... Give me all of you...》, p. 118
《- I DON'T NEED TO REJECT MY OMEGA TRAITS TO BE HAPPY! I LOVE MYSELF JUST THE WAY I AM NOW!》, p. 145
《- Something's off... - Yeah... you're right... - Hup! - WH-WHOA! - WELL, I'VE SAID IT BEFORE, HAVEN'T I? ALL WE GOTTA DO IS HAVE SEX TO FIND OUT!》, p. 161
《- The fact that I'm an alpha and you're an omega... Hardly matters to me now. Just being skin-to-skin with you... [...] Wakana, if I were no longer an alpha... Would you hate me based on that alone? - I could never...! - See? You and I... are drawn to each other, as if we're two halves of one being. Maybe it was pheromones that brought us together initially, but we haven't needed them for a long time now.》, p. 164-165
《- Your pheromones... are back. - Yeah... - They're like a weed no herbicide can kill. Heh! - Watch it!》, p. 174
《- What even is an omega...? What is it to you, Kunimitsu? The difference between me as an omega and not. - Hmm... They're both the same. Your pheromones may be attractive, but at this point, they're like icing on the cake. But as things stand, what matters the most between us is trust and respect.》, p. 175

Wakana brings Kunimitsu home to meet her parents and to get approval for them to marry. It doesn't go well at first, as they are in the middle of saying no because of being a Yakuza, but Wakana's childhood friend shows up and tells them that Kunimitsu is helping him work for the government. This seems to change the parents mind enough. Wakana (at first) unknowingly meets Kunimitsu's mom as she comes into her family's restaurant for Ramen. Even though his mom is also an omega she tells Wakana that Kunimitsu needs a strong alpha as his partner and not an omega. Wakana then has to go save Kunimitsu from the lady alpha that his parents set him up as his future wife years ago (he goes to her to break off the engagement that he never agreed to). However, the alpha lady chains Kunimitsu up and tries to SA him! Wakana saves him, but then she has to help him through a manufactured heat as the lady alpha mad him ingest food with a heat stimulant, which acts as an aphrodisiac to alphas. This was a super cute (and super hot) role reversal! After this it seems like Kunimitsu's parents relent about their disapproval of Wakana. Then Wakana is drugged and kidnapped by a crazy omega scientist who wants to use Wakana's blood to help manufacture medication to help unalive omega traits. Kunimitsu and Wakana's childhood friend rescue her. Kunimitsu gets an apparent for them to live in together. Wakana is drawing more strength to herself and becoming more confident. She's determined not let being an omega keep her from doing anything. She has made fast friends and gained a lot of knowledge of everyone who works for Kunimitsu. And they all seem to love her as well! Very cute and a jam-packed volume for sure! But, don't you worry. There was still plenty of spice. And the scene when she has to help him through his artificial heat. Perfection!! hehe

3.5 ⭐ Generally just a silly goofy time. I do enjoy the development of our FMC and her acceptance of herself as an omega. I wasn't expecting another volume in this series, but given where the plot took us, I'm actually quite curious how the next volume will move forward.
I like that this series has a plot but it had too many in this volume. It feels unfocused and scattered. I'll finish it out, but this is a reminder to me that the Steamship titles don't work for me and I should stop trying.
