I didn’t have high expectations going into this book since the premise looked quite simple. But then, Water turned out to be such a fun read. Honestly felt like watching a good old classic romance from the 90s-2000s.
Chapter 9 is prolly my favorite part. This is where I also fell for P’Apo.
And I’m just going to say it: reading a queer romance where the main leads aren’t creepy, manipulative, walking red flags feels like therapy for my gay heart (traumatized by straight romance I’ve seen or read in the past).
4.5⭐️ Lo he vuelto a leer.
Based on the description you might assume this is an enemies to lovers story, but it's really an idiots to lovers story. But also the communication is A+, none of that heartbreak because one person just can't explain something nonsense. So, idiots with good communication skills, I guess? Translation is still definitely a bit rough in spots, but somehow this one seemed to flow a little better except for the bonus chapters. Those were really rough. It seemed like 1st person and 3rd person were both being used at random and the names/pronouns issue was back with a vengeance.
The book was a really easy read. Nothing truly deep going on but it was still interesting at all times for me. The plot twist was a good addition. I really like that we see the cousins more in this book than the previous one. Overall it was a good read uhmm but I still feel like it reads more like a fanfiction than a serious book which is not bad as I say it was an easy read. However depending on how you wish to compare it to other books is when ranking it becomes tricky. I liked it more than the previous one. I would give it like a 3.8-4⭐️? Something like that.. not sure completely I will keep think about it
I read it obviously because the series is coming up soon. I believe the casting were excellent choices. Specially Charlotte as Lada. I can totally see her portraying that character. It was fun to read and imagine the actresses playing their roles.
As I have recently finished watching the tv series, picking up this book is a no-brainer. Also, I really am a sucker for books in a series. An enjoyable read about Apo and Chonlada and their road to love and romance. As expected, there are differences between the book and the drama, more so than with The Earth. One more point, it's probably because it's a translated work, but there were a few minor grammatical errors. But this did not detract from my overall liking this work.
Started it a month ago, but was reading just enough and not going ahead of their series, completely stopped before the last 2-3 episodes, to save from any spoilers finally a week after the series end completed this as well . Love them, honestly I love the changes that made in series especially towards the ending, having whole domestic life scenes too, and some other things but I feel, I love both the novel and I love certain elements which are here and not in adaptation.
Me gustó...
THE SEA PHRASES MADE BY APO TO REFER TO LADA WERE JUST LOVELY OMG.
I'm grateful that the drama wasn't focus on homophobia. And also I was expecting a little bit of more rivalry, however the drama the book already had was enough. I love Chonlada and Apo so much, they were so beautiful. 💗
