Fandoms: Harry Potter, BBC Sherlock -------------------------------------------------- When Professor McGonagall went to visit Harry Watson, son of Mr. Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson, to deliver his Hogwarts letter, she was in the mindset of performing a familiar if stressful annual routine. Consequently she was unprepared for the shock of finding the cause behind Harry Potter's disappearance. BBC Sherlock HP crossover AU.
3.5. A bit too repetitive from canon (literal paragraphs copied). I feel like it’s really hard to find good HP/Sherlock crossover and this was one of the best. All the plot of adding mobile phones to the magical world is fun!
This is a long read (516K words!), since it covers all Harry's years at Hogwarts up through Goblet of Fire, but worth it, though the ending is still only partial and a bit downbeat. There's plenty of magical action and more than a little humor, but it also addresses some serious issues such as PTSD and prejudice. I like how both adults and young characters are well-portrayed, and of course seeing logical deduction applied to the magical world makes for some interesting changes. There are still-uncorrected typos and others errors, but not enough to impede enjoyment.
Turns out I put it aside for so long I’m DNFing this. I made it to page 302 of 2014 (in 90×34 lynx), which is partway into chapter 16 of 82. If it ever gets better won’t matter now, this is so overrated and has been so tedious it’s hard to read. I was hoping for nice little details other reviewers spoke of, but… *shrug*
One of the top Harry Potter / Sherlock crossovers I've ever read. This first part is upto the events of Goblet of Fire and i think middle of season 2 of sherlock
