That’s how long it’s been since I joined this beautiful, kinky, poly family, and I cherish every single day. Sure, we have our ups and downs. Who hasn’t? But I’d never felt happier or more comfortable in my skin than I have since these guys came into my life. I have my dream job, get to explore the lifestyle in ways I’d never imagined possible, and be in love with men who truly understand me.
That happiness is threatened when an anonymous person starts inquiring about Wes throughout all the shadiest parts of the internet. But we’re stronger together, and nothing will break us apart.
The target on our back is larger than ever. The job we’re thrust into is one of the most dangerous ones that Il Fortunato ever faced. But that only makes me fight harder. I’d do anything for my little family.
Anything.
Heaven help anyone who tries to break us apart.
Fortunate Ones is book two in Il Fortunato series and is NOT a standalone. For the most enjoyment, please read Lucky Boys before reading this one. It features a very kinky, polyamorous family of morally grey mercenaries who will do anything for each other. Please read the trigger warnings for more details.
The Fortunate Ones is the second book in the Il Fortunato series. This series should be read in order. Please be aware that this is an MMM+ story, if that's not your thing this book might not be for you. We are back with Luca, Brooks, Maverick, Diego, Skye, and Wes the guys of Il Fortunato for another rollercoaster ride of a story. I love this group of guys and all their kinks. There is so much happening in this book that I will probably read it multiple times to find things I might have missed. I enjoyed watching the family grow and change. I will say this book ends on a cliffhanger and now I have to wait for the next book in the series. I would definitely recommend this book and series. received a free review copy
Ive been anxiously awaiting this book for months. When I read the first book I knew this series would be my top read of the entire year and this continuation was everything I hoped for!
Though it’s been months since reading the first installment, I found myself easily falling back into these characters dynamics and the plot. The authors effortlessly carried over from book one!
I feel like I could read about these 6 (or even 8) characters forever without getting tired of them. The dynamics are so complex and thoughtful but defined and easy to follow which is honestly a masterpiece in and of itself. I truly applaud these authors for their ability to write 6 characters with differing personalities and relationships, so well! Everything always feels so cohesive.
I loved so much that we got some follow up from the previous book but also a new (but connected) plot line to stay engaged. It was riveting and a twist from the previous book while maintaining some similar themes. The books both end with an HFN but clear space for more. This one had a bit more of a “soft” cliffhanger aspect. I’m not sure how else to put it. It wasn’t one to a point that made me frustrated that the next book wasn’t out but it was a cliffhanger enough that I can’t wait to see what happens and get my hands on the next installment. AND it seems the next book maybe be from Matty, Everett, and Harley’s perspectives which will be interesting!
Overall, this series is unforgettable and I love these characters with my whole heart!!
I absolutely adored this book! It's been on my TBR since Jacey announced it because I love this little poly family so much 😍. Seeing the addition of their adoptive son Matty was also so wholesome and sweet to witness.
Honestly, I devoured this book so fast 🤣 between the dynamic between all the men - Brooks, Skye, Luca, Maverick, West & Diego, and the adventure between missions and the addition of a new pseudo-son it was like I blinked and it was done 🫣💜.
It was so well done, and nice to see how the dynamic between all of these characters has changed and grew stronger and more solid from the first book 🥹, plus the spice... 🥵 I mean it's top notch. I'm such a sucker for the BDSM lifestyle and the moments between all of these men was superb 🔥. It was so nice to see how all of them loved each other, it wasn't just Luca and Brooks VS Skye and Maverick VS Wes & Diego, it was all of them together, learning and thriving and it was as sweet and loving as it was spicy deliciousness 😈🥹😘.
I don't want to give too much away but if you love a poly family, lots of BDSM, some action and adventure and a team that takes down the evil within the world than definitely check out this series!
I cannot WAIT for Matty's book 🥰, he is adorable goodness and such a protective teddy bear I love him so much! Plus his partners are also equally as interesting 👀💯.
Soooo much going on in this book! The various relationships/dynamics within and around this 'family' keep evolving, keep growing & changing, and it's really beautiful to be able to witness. There's quite a bit of action going on outside of that, too, and it all comes to a head. Stuff happens, loved ones are in danger, protective instincts flare all around, and their family expands in new ways. This love story is full of tension, action, k1nk, love, family, suspense, danger, and a bit of payback thrown in for good measure. The epilogue/lead-in to a future story nearly had me pulling my hair out! This book will definitely leave the reader smiling, and breathless, heart pounding, brain spinning, and wondering what in the world's gonna happen next!
Luca, Brooks, Maverick, Diego, Skye, and Wes story was intense, packed with danger and adrenaline as a new dangerous mission lands in their laps that will add to their growing family. I adored their dynamics and how they turned to each other in difficult times, their shenanigans and teasing, the love and care they showed each time, and their amazing hot moments together. There’s secrets and revelations, different enemies that tried to interfere with their happiness, magical moments spent with family, and lots of presents that are meaningful to their development. It was a rollercoaster of emotions and events that offered many twists and turns, but that made them more powerful and attentive. I enjoyed the read, and I’m looking forward for the next adventure.
Was kinda disappointed. Especially since there's apparently not gonna be another book focused on these guys. Mostly disappointed in the lack of progress in the relationship development with Wes and Diego. I mean really? Nothing? I'm not even really sure at this point why Wes and Diego were even included in their relationship at all. It would have been a lot better with just the main four being the focus since they were actually all together. The other two were kinda forced in there on the sidelines. Could have been excellent but fell short. I am curious about the next book. Maybe it will stick with just those three and not try to force extra people in there.
The boys are back! Lucky Boys is one of my fav MMM+ books and the sequel is finally here. Luca, Maverick, Brooks, Skye, Wes & Diego are back for more mysterie, more thrilling adventures, more killing and a lot of spice.. The tension, the constant threat, to keep Matty safe. And now there's even more on the line when they rescue Everett.. Loved it from start to finish. Rowan sure knows how to write a thrilling book. Can't wait to read Matty, Everett & Harley's book next year! @jaceydavis_author writes as Rowan Kingston.
This was such a gorgeous book! Took me a hot minute to remember what happened in the end of the last book but once I did I was away!
The story is fun and interesting, just enough going on that you are engaged in the plot while also being super excited and interested in the 6 men!
They have such different (and hot) dynamics in lots of different arrangements. Though it was definitely spicy and meltingly hot it never just felt like group play for the sake of it and there was clear care and adoration for each character.
This book was just brilliant. Full of mystery and intrigue. But i love reading about the dynamics of their poly relationship. Brooks is just my favourite i love his bouncy bratty energy. That cliff hanger at the end has left me on the edge of my seat i want to know what happens next. I cant wait to read mattys book next. Just a brilliant series. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I absolutely loved this story. This is the second book in the series and has to be read after the first one. The characters were fascinating and so wonderful and the world building was amazing. I was so invested in this story that I didn’t want to put it down and I really didn’t want it to end. This was a fantastic story.
I was so hooked after finishing book #1, I instantly started book #2. It was definitely weaker that book #1 and the "conflicts" felt not as natural but a bit forced to have "plot". All in all did I hope for "more", but had a great time with the polycule. It is stated that there will be a book #3 in spring 2026 and I am looking forward to it.
I am continually amazed with how Rowan is able to write about this many different guys all together. There are so many physical and emotional dynamics in this relationship. I am also enjoying all the danger going on around them. The outside situations really amped up the story. I do hope we get more with these guys in future books though.
We're back with our kinky, poly family and I couldn't be happier to learn more about them. It's wonderful seeing their individual pairings as well as them growing as a family. There's danger and action as the stakes get higher and I can't wait for the conclusion.
Loved seeing these guys again, but didn't enjoy it as much as the first book. There were a lot of time jumps and overall the sex scenes didn't feel as integrated. Overall a good book but a bit jarring. I'm looking forward to Matty, Harley, and Everett's story.
I really liked going back into this relastionship. I liked the dynamic in the first book and thought it held up. I found the passing to be fine, it kept me interested when i was overly stressed and couldn't sit still for long.
Book two was worth the wait. Seeing all the guys back in action doing what they do best. It was nice to see the relationships develop more. I wish there was more of Wes and Diego. Cannot wait to see what book 3 holds.
Even though I’m not a huge fan of this genre of books it was a good read. It was well written (lots of good smexy scenes) and you easily get lost in the book
If I could only read books in this world for the rest of my life I would be a happy person. These characters are so well developed and the relationships are complex, in the best way. Also, the spice is always spicing!
