I was born and raised in Sri Lanka, speaking Sinhalese. English is my second language and I’m fluent in German, as well. Switzerland is my current home, where I live with my husband, daughter, and all my fictional friends. My best friends are fellow authors because they understand my passion for the written word, The Hunger Games, and power-wielding female characters in general.
I love characters with a bit of humor and a little dorkiness, so I can giggle while reading. Basically, if it has anything to do with books, I’m interested in it. I happily refer to myself as a nerd who has an extensive library of paperbacks.

I was given this book to read and review by the author. When reading the blurb I thought it was something like a love triangle.
It was to a certain degree.

Komali Da Silva writes fluently and well, she brings out things in the characters that take you back and make you think a little

I just didn't expect what happened, what it turned out to be! I was flabbergasted. If I had known what this book was going to reveal towards the end, I wouldn't have chosen to read it, I'd have said to her "thank you, but its not my genre" instead, I was blinded by the blurb. I have to say though, I am glad I was! because the book gripped me, not right at the beginning, it was about half way through when the questions hung over Nat and Angelo, and what or who she was going to choose.

She loved Nat, but wasn't 'inlove' with him, but he was deeply in love with her. Angelo comes along and he takes her mind, emotions, but Angelo has a secret. Things get dark and woven into this story that I was taken totally by shock and surprise.

I would never in a zillion years have chosen to read this if I had know, then I would have missed out on a GREAT story. So this has taught me to look more closely to other genres similar I might enjoy just as much.

Copy of book sent to me by author in exchange for an honest review.

I tend to be on the fence when it comes to angel books but I actually really enjoyed Angels Dawn.

My favorite thing about this book is how surprisingly well written it is. I didn't really notice but when I was really taken aback by how well the story flowed.
I read this book really quickly because of how well everything flowed together.
There was some insta-love, and I'm not a fan of insta-love, but I could see how it worked for Angels Dawn.
Overall, I thought this book was a really cool YA book and I'm so curious to see what happens in the next book. I feel like Angels Dawn is one of those books that grows on you with time and you'll always kinda remember it.

Reviewed by Heather for Bex 'n' Books

I was gifted this ARC in exchange for an honest review for the Bex ‘n’ Books blog. Like all books that I read for the purpose of a review I went into it blind. I did not read a synopsis or anything other than the title. I like the unknown and surprise of what I may find. The only thing I did know about this book was that it was more of a YA novel.

I fell in LOVE with this book! The book was SO well written that I felt transported to a different place. It was fantastic, its hard to find books that do such a great job of mental escape!

Dawn turns 16 and her life is changed forever. She runs through such a gambit of emotions and life choices in that one year that most people go through MAYBE in a lifetime. Friendship, young love, heart break, hatred, betrayal, angst, malice…the reader is rung through such an emotional rollercoaster I wanted to take a nap when it was over!

The paranormal element was unexpected and while I am a bit “overdone” in the paranormal department I found it rather enjoyable and fitting to the overall story line. I appreciated that the author dubbed this a YA book and KEPT IT a YA book which is rarer and rarer to find these days. I would have no problem recommending this book to a teenager or a friend with teenagers.

I do hope there is a sequel as the reader was left with a lot of questions and there opportunity is definitely there to expand the storyline.

Great read I would give it a solid 5 stars.

I received a copy from Komali da Silva in exchange for an honest review.

Let me start off by saying this book had everything you need to keep you interested.

Love, Mystery, Suspense, And a puppy.

There were a few minor typo's, but they did not detract from the story at all.

I found the character's intriguing, and relate-able. We start out in a love triangle, which lot's of us have encountered for one reason or another. I think she did a good job with the feelings that come along with being torn in different directions. Sometimes life chooses a different path for us than we would choose on our own.

Komali did a wonderful job with the relationships the character's had with each other. There are surprises in store as you read, with a cliff-hanger and revelations towards the end. Definitely different than some of what I have read before, but that makes it even more interesting. I can't wait for the next book in the series- Fight for Dawn due out the summer of 2014.

Angelo ***SIGH**** Komali gave me another boyfriend to talk and think about. I am not into much spoilers. I will just tell you that you should read this book as soon as you can. The flow, the story is so smooth that will make you fall in love with it. The characters are sweet and understanding ..they will be come your best friends!! If you like Guardian angels, a good plot you gonna love reading it this book. There was only one thing what I didn't like was that she fell for the guy too quick . But later on it was okay and I liked how it progressed!! This is your book if you like angels .The way it ended you are going to want the second book soon. It's bittersweet and I am sad a little but I am glad I could read this book. I love angels and This book is PERFECT!!!

I was asked to review this by the author. I loved the main characters Dawn n Angelo and Nate. I love my Paranormal Romance books and I wasn't disappointed when I started reading this. It makes you believe you are reading a Romance novel, but as you start getting into the story, it unfolds into something completely different. A love triangle that was intense and mind boggling at times lol. You find out more about the characters as the story unfolds. When you get to the end, you need to know what happens next and that installment will come when Komali da Silva writes Book 2 this Summer.

I loved every minute of reading this book and can't wait til the next book comes out.

I could tell that I was getting close to the end and that it was probably going to end in a cliffhanger, but I wasn't expecting that last chapter. It wasn't an OMG! cliffhanger in the sense that it didn't leave the reader in the middle of some major turmoil, but it was almost a quiet cliffhanger, but there was still one bit of information that made me scream WHAT!?! It's a YA, high school age romance with a paranormal twist. It reminds me of a few others I've read in the same genre, and which I've also enjoyed. For a debut novel, this was pretty good and I'm most definitely looking forward to continuing the story.

What a wonderful book, it was Soooo good. I was really intrigued by the entire book. Dawn was attacked at the beginning, then she thought her boyfriend Nate saved her but it wasn't. It was Angelo. This book is pact with twist and turns that will have you saying OMG DID THAT JUST HAPPEN. I really hope book 2 comes out soon because the ending was surprising. Please bring on book 2! But really the storyline was solid, the characters were brilliant. I love supernatural books, and I highly recommend this book.

I love the idea of the love story that Komali wrote. All her characters were very likable, from Dawn's best friend Asima and Nate, to her parents, sister, and the brothers. Dawn's life was normal, she had the best sister, bestfriend and sweetest boyfriend Nate. Until Dawn turned 16yrs old, her whole life did a complete 180. New guy named Angelo started to show interest in her and started to protect her from dangers she didn't even know was lurking her way. After turning 16 weird things started happening, she started hearing voices in her head. It didn't take her long to find out who's voice she was hearing, it was Angelo. She finds out that her and Angelo are connected in some way. They started to spend time together, talking a lot. At first Dawn tried to keep her relationship with Angelo all platonic, because she did not want to hurt her childhood bestfriend and boyfriend Nate, but after a little while both her and Angelo could not keep their feelings from each other. Angelo started sleeping over her room just to be around her, the electricity they felt for each other was magical. When they started going pass friendship and the kissing started happening, Dawn realized what she has with Angelo is so much more than what she will ever have with Nate. After a while she decided to break it off with Nate, because he did not deserve any of the pain she will cause him if he finds out she's with Angelo. She let Nate know that what they have for each other will never pass the friendship, she loves him as a friend and she wants him to stay in her life. Nate ask for a little space, which she gave, but after a little while Nate started coming around again as sweet as ever. Trying to get Dawn back, Dawn realized how much Nate have changed and thought about maybe giving them another try. Since for some reason, Angelo have been acting really weird, like he doesn't even know her when Bonita is around. Dangers started happening and her friends have to figure out what they can do to save Dawn or they may lose her forever.

I don't want to go more into this stories or all spoilers will be out, which wouldn't be good for others who haven't read this story. All I can say is Dawn and Angelo were very cute together, but so was Dawn and Nate. Also that Bonita is real evil and I hated her for being so wrong to everyone. I also really love Nate's character and what he got he did not deserve.

I cannot wait for the next book, because even though this book is great it left a big cliff hanger...which left me with NNNOooooo feeling after I was finished with the book.

I was given a copy of this book by the author to review. Prior to receiving this book, I had only read the summary and can say that it told me nothing of what to expect from this book. I had no idea it was a paranormal YA book. I guess I should have known when looking at the authors likes and noticed we shared an interest in other authors of the same genre.

This was very easy to read book. There were moments when I caught myself smiling and then moments when I felt frustrated and of course....that ends with a cliffhanger....I am left with many questions.

I liked the overall storyline of the book, but I wish we would have gotten to know Angelo a little more before just "falling in love." I feel that Dawn fell so easily for him and even she didn't know why. They literally were strangers and in one meeting were making out intimately. Don't get me wrong, by the end I was loving him too and I cannot even tell you why. I was pulling for Nate and then pulling for Angelo. The Author definitely some kind of way made you fall in love with these characters. LOVE Dawn's BFF, Asima....Everyone needs a friend like her!

But I'm am left with some questions that makes me not want to wait until the Summer to read the next book!!!

Of course I cannot wait to read the next story this summer to see how everything plays out with Bonita! Man I do not like that witch!

I'm only giving this book 4 stars because I am a sucker for true romance and I would have loved to see Angelo Whoo Dawn a little more before the make-out sessions and fireworks. That's where Nate pulled on my heartstrings...he seemed more gentlemanly and I would have loved to see the "Angel" be more Angelic and romantic. (but we may see more of that later on....I am definitely hopeful for a happy ending!)

With a little more romance and character building of Angelo Book 2 has potential to be a 5 star book!

It has been a long time since I have read a paranormal...I thought I would be giving myself a drama break !! WRONG

We start out with young Dawn , 16 years old , best friend/blood sister Asima and of course the childhood neighbor boy who loves her - Nate !!

Pretty typical High School life until she turns 16 and witnesses a violent crime which she attempts to stop but of course ends up in the midst of and then lands herself in the hospital with a head injury. Things start happening now and you really need to follow to try to figure out what is going on with Dawn ?? She is having weird dreams , hearing things , feeling things and it is hard to tell what is reality and what is not , and more so why is this happening to her.

Dawn is partnered up with the new boy in school Angelo in glee club. While working with him on a duet strange things begin to happen between the two of them. She can hear him in her thoughts and call to him in her dreams. She is quickly falling in love with him and him with her , but why ?? What is he and why is Dawn the object of his affection ??

Dawn decides to break up with Nate because she feels guilt about the way she is feeling and acting with Angelo. Of course shortly after this Bonita steps into the picture and all bets are off. Anything Dawn thought or you the reader may have thought is basically thrown out the window. Angelo is acting strange , Asima is frustrated with Dawn's behavior , Dawn is practically depressed and then we have Nate , he is acting super hot and I am so Team Nate at this point !!

Dawn knows now what Angelo is ,but she has no clue who Bonita is or what she is to Angelo. Dawn has been warned by a few people about visions they have had, not to mention all the weird feelings Dawn has about being watched and hearing things. So what does she do , she roams off into the night and BOOM here it comes...

CLIFFHANGER !!

Really well played Komali !!
I cannot wait for book 2 , I need to know what the heck is going on , so many questions left and as annoying as that is , it is exactly what makes me love a book and rate it 5 stars !!

BOOK PROVIDED BY THE AUTHOR
YA PARANORMAL
I kind of like "love triangles". I must say that I did not like Nat, he was too good, and I do not like good boys anymore. I am nos saying that Anglelo was good or bad, he was mysterious and super hot. And who does not like that kind of boys? I sure love them.
Dawn is the perfect girl, everyone loves her, she is also the perfect daughter. Everything about her is perfect, but perfect can be boring...and the best way to have fun can be with the new boy in town.
They are drawn to each other, they have a bound so strong. She can hear him in her head, she wants him so bad.
Dawn doesn't want to hurt Nat, yet she can't shake her feelings for Angelo. So she will make a decision, was the right one? But things are complicated now, something feels weird. Angelo is hiding something from her, and it could be something dark. Why is Angelo acting so weird around Bonita? Are they together? Are they really only friends?
Angelo is the epitome of trouble, and Dawn will not avoid him.
Can one trust someone blindly? Can love overcome all the obstacles? Dawn is in danger, and her guardian angel feels that something is wrong, but he does not know what it is. Can he save her? Or it would be too late?
Their lives are in danger, their love is going to be tested...Is their love strong enough?
I must say that I like thos book, some parts I did not (like the beginning). Everything was so perfect...
Komali da Silva, you did a great work with the book, i love it! You are a mena girl, the end....I was speechless, I need to read the second book RIGH NOW, I an a needy girl.

What I like about this book.

* The angels .
* I'm left wanting more and can't wait for the next one.

What I didn't like about this book.

* Everything that was perfect

3.5 Paranormal Stars!

I felt as though I should point it out that this book is a paranormal. I was unaware of that fact before reading and was a bit thrown for a loop.

The story begins with the lead character, Dawn, turning sixteen and living what she sees as the perfect life. She’s a popular cheerleader with a great family and great friends. The evening of her birthday throws her life into a tailspin when she finds her life in danger.

Angelo is a handsome and very intriguing new student at the high school. Angelo is different, inhumanly different and has a bond with Dawn in more ways than one. Angelo is responsible for saving her life the night of her birthday and is intent on protecting her for the rest of her life.

Dawn is instantly drawn to Angelo, but is currently in a new relationship with an old childhood friend. Nate is madly in love with Dawn and is ecstatic that Dawn has finally given them a chance. However, Dawn’s feelings don’t run as deep as Nate’s do, but she is fearful of breaking his heart.

Although this sounds like the book revolves around a love triangle, that’s really not the whole story. Her confusion over these two men is present in the storyline, but so many twists and turns are happening all at once and the one she will eventually choose doesn’t hold much significance quite yet. By the end of this book, the story becomes much darker and more intense. It becomes a story of good versus evil. Unfortunately, that’s where it ends. Yes, a cliffhanger.

I found parts of this book to be very sweet, some very frustrating and lots of parts that left me with questions of what is to come. Hopefully the next installment will provide more clarity and an ending that justifies the crazy journey.

5 stars- Oh boy! What can I say? Loved it!
Paranormal young adult, very clean and very well written. Author's writing style is really good. I really enjoyed reading the story. Big cliffhanger at the end and a bit sad too. Ok, I must confess, I was super sad at the end. But I can't wait to read the next one, I want to read it like right now. I must know what happens next!!!

*****SPOILERS*****
Things I loved about this story: the friendships, I loved Asima, she is like the perfect best friend. I also LOVED Nate. He was so cool and nice and the perfect boyfriend. Awesome book boyfriend material. Jan is the super awesome sister and I loved their relationship. Dawn's parents are super nice too and even though the dad is a bit strict sometimes, I felt like he was a great dad. The mom was a friend to her daughters and I really enjoyed their relationships.
Angelo, what can I say about him... the hero, dreamy, perfect. His brother, Pietro, super cool and super hot.
Another fave character was Cinty (Jasinta) she is the housekeeper and she is like a second mom to Dawn.

I must say the story is an insta-love kind of story but it's not written badly, I normally dislike insta-love but this one was good. It's young love and nothing hard and heavy, it's more on the sweet side and very enjoyable.
Paranormal aspects to the story: we have angels, not gonna spoil this for you so I won't tell you who they are. We have a seer and we have a witch (kind of) at least I think she is a witch. We also have some kind of bad guys that could be demons but I am not sure. Maybe on the next one we will know more.
The story has action and suspense. Funny moments and very sad ones too. It pretty much has everything you want in a story.
If you like reading paranormal and YA books then I highly recommend this one.

I was given this book to review by the author and Mackable Book Reviews for my honest opinion. Angels Dawn by Komali da Silva is the first book in a series I can't wait to finish.

What first seems to be a story of young love and suspense quickly becomes a paranormal intrigue I couldn't put down.

Good girl Cheerleader Dawn's life is blown apart by a trauma too scary for a 16yr old girl to have to deal with. She has strong family who loves her. She has the support and love of her boyfriend, Nate she's counted on since they were little kids. But is any of that enough to keep her safe and ignite her passion?
I loved that Dawn is smart real young women, who thinks for herself. She wants to do what's right and protect her loved ones. Da Silva doesn't write her cheerleaders off as silly mean girl characters and I loved it.

Nate, the perfect boyfriend is just what every girl wants and then lets go, because he's too good. Too nice. Too bad it's not that easy for Dawn, because Nate is her best friend and confidant. She can't loose that now when she needs him most.

Swagger and charm are not the only thing that is drawing Dawn to Angelo but something dark complicates her choice to be with him. She knows there is something powerful between them, but does she really know all his secrets?

The author did an amazing job introducing us to these characters, and then turning our picture of them upside down, when violence, desperation, and love morph them into someone or something else.

I highly recommend Angels Dawn. Its not just a romance, not just paranormal. It's a great read and I look forward the next book in the series due to be released this year. I will be on the look out for other work by Komali da Silva in the future.

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I love tales about angels especially ones battling demons. And, Komali da Silva’s "Angels Dawn" doesn’t disappoint. This book is an interesting story about guardian angels and a mysterious cast of characters who have it in for the human he’s in charge of.

Angelo Santamaria qualifies as every girl’s book boyfriend. He’s gorgeous, caring, and very suave. He’s so devoted to Dawn that when things take a turn for the worst you feel the pain just as much as the characters.

Dawn is perfection. She’s that book character who can do no wrong in everyone’s eyes, but the darkness is just beneath the surface. It’s waiting to come out, but she never fully acts on it. She’s such a good cookie that when she gets caught between two different guys she’s more concerned about their feelings.

Nate was probably my favorite out of all the characters. He was patience personified. So loyal, so caring, and so giving of himself. Not sure if he should qualify as a book boyfriend or a book doormat. Dawn never truly appreciated what she had in him.

"Angels Dawn" is not your average ‘girl meets guy’ story. There’s a serious twist at the end (which pissed me off) that takes this story up a notch.

I was pleasantly surprised that this book read like it was written by an American. Outside of the reference of a VW Polo, a supermini vehicle found outside of the United States, it didn’t have me Googling every single little thing. I’ve read books by a few foreign authors and had to look up everything (cars, houses, food, drink).

I found da Silva’s book delightful and recommend it to everyone!

I just finished reading Angels Dawn and wanted to get my thoughts down while they were still fresh in my mind. The story line is definitely unique. I really didn’t know what to expect as I tend not to read blurbs and will usually go by reviews or word of mouth. So I entered this one blindly knowing only that it was a YA novel, which is one my favorites to read. While some of the content was borderline new adult, for the most part the story stuck to the maturity level of its main characters. They were an interesting bunch and brought the story to life. I loved the paranormal elements with a little good vs. evil thrown in, makes for a much more interesting story. I give kudos to Komali for creating such a unique world with fun plot twists.

There is a reason however for my 3 star rating. I have a couple issues, primarily with the writing, that I need to mention.

- The text is a bit repetitive, mostly the descriptions of people and situations.
- There are quite a few inconsistencies in the story, noted in the passage of time and character details.
- It doesn’t always flow, especially in the beginning. The sentences are sometimes choppy.
- I feel it could of benefited from another round of editing. I hate to say it but it seems like the entire second half lacked editing as quite a few of the phrases didn’t make a whole lot of sense.

Despite my issues with the writing, I’m curious to see where the series goes from this point. The ending, while not exactly a cliffhanger, will leave you curious and wanting more.

I received this book free in a Giveaway by Paranormal Romance & Authors That Rock on Facebook.

Komali da Silva is a new author that certainly has a way with words. This book was intriguing and drew me in from the beginning. The situations given, although with a paranormal twist, could happen although you hope that in the instance with the girl being attacked and Dawn stepping in to help, that this doesn't happen.

I really enjoyed how the story unfolded and the mystery that was Angelo. I certainly felt for Dawn when she realised that things just wouldn't work out between her and Nate as he would like. But then you get all the twists that are put in the book and you just don't know where it's going to go. This is a book that certainly keeps you guessing and leaves you with questions - just a few being:

1) What was the problem between Dawn's dad and Angelo?
2) How was Angelo bespelled so easily?
3) Why wasn't Bonita even mentioned in passing before she suddenly turns up?
4) Why wasn't anything heard about the girl who was originally attacked, before Dawn helped?
5) Who were the attackers and what is their plan?

I could go on but I won't. The ending was a complete twist and I loved how things were wrapped up but also left open for the next book. On the whole, I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be reading the next one, which at the moment has a time of release of Summer 2014. This story is intriguing and I want to know more. Excellent start!

ARE YOU SERIOUS KOMALI?!

Dawn Huntington is your normal teenage girl. She's ready to have her sweet 16 birthday party with family, best friend Asima, best friend turned boyfriend Nate, and all her other friends. On the night of her party, she witnesses a crime that ultimately involves her personally. It was an intense scene that I could feel!

She ends up in the hospital with a head injury that starts some weird things happening to her. She starts to hear voices, sees things, feels weird things, and can't understand what's happening to her.

In walks Angelo. Dawn is paired up with him in glee club. They fall in love with each other but Angelo is different. Dawn finds out what he is, and she accepts it so I thought things were sweetly wrapping up.
WRONG! In walks Bonita and she's not your average bad girl.

Kamali's writing flows really well. Not only will she grab your attention right off, she will keep it! She then throws new twists and surprises in that you will never see coming! I couldn't put the book down as I had to see what was going to happen!

I enjoyed this book very much! I will admit I'm very frustrated right now (in a good way) because she ends the book on cliff hanger that made me yell out loud! I'm not sure how I'm going to make it until the second book comes out but I will say this, don't judge a book on it's genre or you will miss out on a great story by a new author!

A while ago I asked for some Paranormal Romance recommendations, then this beauty came along and I was surprise how great this Young Adult/ Paranormal story worked together. I haven't read a lot of Paranormal books however after this great read I will be looking for a lot of books just like this.

Angels Dawn from the start kept me interested. It also helped that the author had a great way of putting her words together to make the story intriguing and loveable.

I loved each character she created. I instantly fell in love with Angelo. What a great guy to have on your side. Angelo is hiding secrets of his own and I love the mystery about him in the beginning of the book. Any male that can sing and has a protective nature is a plus in my book.

The story was filled with music, passion, mystery, witchcraft and one hell of a villain. The events that take place had me reading line after line to find out what is going to happen next. I loved that there was different things going on with the main characters and how they later came together. When I read the last words of Angels Dawn I was searching to see if next book was out. Unfortunately I will have to wait just like everyone else and hopefully in the meantime reread this story a couple of times. I am super excited to see where Komali takes this story and what happens with each character.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It was nothing like I expected. Not your same ole hum drum love story. This has amazing twist and turns. I absolutely can't wait for the next book in the series to see what happens next.
Great story about a young woman and her first love. Very realistic and yet shows restraint. The young woman was raised with strong morals and it shows in her actions. When you have been best friends with a guy for as long as you can remember, everyone just assumes that your a couple. That is what happened with Dawn. She just kind of fell into her relationship status with Nate. Her family and friends loved him and so did she. Just not in the boyfriend way. They are really close and do everything together till she meets a new guy who seems different in every way. She begins to start having feelings that confuse her but she is also drawn to Angel. She is really careful of Nate's feelings and spends time deciding what is the best option for her. When her decision is made, her whole world turns upside down. Strange things start happening and it all comes to a boil. We are left hanging till the next book in the series comes out. I can't wait.

I love Komali Da Silva's writing!!! She is very talented. The story flowed well for the most part, and I enjoyed getting to know Dawn.

Her secondary characters were well developed and I loved them as well. Of course, who wouldn't like Asima? She's loyal, supernatural, and full of spunk.

Nate even had a special place in my heart. I felt really bad for the guy. He went through so much in this book.
Jan was a little harder to like, but I came around eventually.

Bonita, there are just no words. None.

I really wanted to like Angelo, but even though he's a good guy, it's disappointing how everything with him worked itself out. I don't think he should have even entered Dawn's life.

As for the incident that happened at the beginning of the book, I thought more would be explained as the story went on, but no. I had hoped for more information there.

Overall, I loved the book. I felt the author should have clarified some things a little more before the end of the book, but otherwise it was a fantastic four star read!

*I received a copy from the author for my honest review*

Wow! This is not what I was expecting when I read the snippet of the book. Komali da Silva has done an incredible job with this book.

Young teenage cheerleader, Dawn was attacked. Something a normal teen should never have to deal with. She has the support of Nate to help her through this. Being lifelong friends, they are very close. Then enters Angelo. Something draws Dawn to him. He doesn't have the wholesomeness that Nate has. Once you think you have the characters figured out, boom, there's something else you didn't count on. I loved being kept on edge.

So many twists and turns in this book makes you think you have it figured out and then Komali da Silva changes it up on you. If you like paranormal, this is right up your alley. If you like love stories, this is for you too. I cannot place a perfect genre to fit in. It is just a good read.

This is review based on my own opinions. I bought this book via the Kindle Store. No spoilers! I am a part of the Review Team @ The Paranormal Bookshelf.

Category: YA Paranormal

When I began this book I did not realize how lost and awesome this book would be. I was pleasantly surprised when this book turned into one of the best plots I have read in quite a while. It was very original and had one of the best teaser endings I have ever read, and I've read a lot. No other book has left me hanging on at the final page more than this one.
The author has a wonderful way of writing and her plot is simply thumbs up. There are a several editing problems but that is an easy fix. The characters are brought to life through amazing dialogue and insight. This is definitely a young adult book and written for such a crowd. But even though I'm definitely not in that age group anymore, I still enjoyed this story. I can't wait for the next one.

I received this book for an honest review. I didn't know it was a paranormal book at first so when I found that out it was pretty cool how she incorporated it. Dawn is the.main character and is an amazing girl. She is string headed and string willed and has a protective family. Dawn is attacked at the beginning and ends up in the hospital not knowing all the details. Nate is her best friend that wants to take it to the next level with her and she is trying but she finds her heart swaying somewhere else. Angelo moves in from a different town and is connected to her at first site. He is very protective of dawn and wants to be around her all the time. He finally breaks down and tells her his secret. This book is patched with action and feelings and had me on he edge yelling at some of the characters can't wait for the next book

Who knew your sweet sixteen would turn your world upside down? Dawn had it all family a best friend turned boyfriend Nate and then it all came crashing down when she was attacked on her 16th birthday. No memory of who saved her feom that horrible night sbe starts hearing voices but no one is there. She discovers its the hot new guy in school Angelo and he can communicate to her through her thoughts.
Then it gets messy.... a love triangle begins and Dawn learns she can't be with Nate when shes falling in love with Angelo. They have an undeniable connection. There is more to Angelo than meets the eyes. All is perfect until Benita comes along and has Angelo under her spell...literally I might add!
This book was fast paced and reeled you from the start. It's a nice paranormal story. It was a good read with a shocking cliffhanger and I cant wait for book 2.

To me a great book is one where the characters and storyline just grab your attention and hold it. It is a book that you have trouble putting down and one that you think about even when not reading.
For me, this is what this book is.
Sure, there are some issues with it, but they don't impede the purpose of the book which was to transport me to another reality.
Komali has written this book's ending as a cliffhanger, ready for the next book and boy do I wish I didn't have to wait. I would be diving straight into the next book if it was available.
If you were to go and buy this book, I don't think you would regret it.
Great work for a first novel Komali.
