I was pretty excited to read the book but as I was reading it became extremely apparent the book was more about the stories surrounding Joe Crosley. It was disappointing that there was only one short chapter on his actual capture & trial.
The story of Joe Cosley was absolutely amazing! I loved reading and learning about the cowboy, war hero, park ranger, and trapper as he seemed to have such an amazing story behind his character. Obviously this is a non fiction book based on the life of a real man who lived throughout the late 1800s and early 1900s. The author, Brian McClung, did an excellent job with describing Joe Cosley and his life story, including the events over in Europe. Sadly I do believe that the novel did go by very fast, but maybe that was due to the very short time frame that I had to read this and the amount of facts and knowledge that was included. I wish that I had more time to read this book, that way I could slow down and really enjoy it. I overall believe that this was a very good novel and that you should read it, as well.
