My fiancé and I were selecting china patterns when I realized … I don’t want this life.
Not the ostentatious house, or the fancy parties full of fake friends, and definitely not my philandering excuse of a future husband.
It was the salesgirl’s subtle smirk that sealed the deal. An unspoken sentiment that she, along with countless other women, had sampled my fiancee’s wares.
So, I left. Spurred by a mix of betrayal and bravery, I accepted my free-spirited sister's invitation to start anew in Tangled Vines, a small town on the other side of the country.
What she failed to mention was that my new digs were at the town’s brothel, a legendary escape with equally legendary escorts.
No, I’m not working as an escort. I have a far bigger problem, and his name is Griffin Topete.
He’s a gorgeous, soulful cowboy with a big heart and an even bigger reputation. He's also the main attraction here, and completely off-limits.
And yet, we can’t stay away from each other.
One night, with the help of some liquid courage, I did the unthinkable.

Firstly,I want to thank LoveNotes PR & M.L. Broome for trusting me with this wonderful ARC!
Being in the high society, living in Hamptons and having big parties may be the idyllic life to some women. However, when the realisation hits, that the rich boy fiancee has cheated you even with the saleswoman that you are currently talikng with, you understand that for you this way of living is over .Or this is exactly what happened with Reese. She left, and now back in the ranch her sister is working, tries to restart her life.Until she meets Griffin. One thing is sure:it will turn her upside down again & when she tastes him? There is no way back.
Miss Broome, you just made my September WAY BETTER🥹.
To start with,we follow a slow burn romance story-and I can reassure you this is THE BEST slow burn you will read in 2025.Why?Because it is not your classic, secret feelings that are expressed after the 50% slow burn.We have so,so many moments until that first kiss & relationship that will have you screaming & gigling your feet. Our man knows what my girl Reese deserves and will gladly give it to her in the right pacing -GO GRIFFIN! Talking about G,I can say I fell in love with him too,not only because he is a hottie, but mostly because I love his perspective in life & how his behaviour was.On the other side Reese, was so,so cute. A woman in her late 30s ready to start again,in finding her true self, not what others wanting her to be.I found her really strong already by herself but with Griffin by her side she was unstopabble.Slowly and steady, she started carving her own path, until the ending, when we saw her in the best form she could be-I am just so proud of her!💜
However, this story did not unfolded smoothly for the main couple. They faced a ton of problems(not with each other)& had to overcome many obstacles in order to have their hapilly ever after-which eventually they did. So,I would not say it is just a romance,it was aspiring story of how two different people from totally opposite backgrounds & lifes could eventually find themselves without fear. More, this book was remider, that with the right support, not only from a romantic partner,we could literally change our lifes. To end with, this was such a phenomenal read for me,and I 100% recommend it 🥹.You will experience love, hate, passion and more importantly that HEA do not come in an instant, they need emotions, effort and patience, are they worth it?100% out on Sept,22nd🌻 5⭐
___
No me gustó.
“As usual, he’s a fan favorite. A trio of local girls are crowding him, fingers skimming over the short bristles of his head, nails trailing down his arm, giggles spilling like they’ve just discovered calorie-free ice cream. And he’s letting them. Worse, he’s smiling. Not the fake, tight-lipped kind he gives when he’s uncomfortable—no, this one looks real. Like he’s enjoying every second. My stomach dips. Maybe he needs the attention. Maybe he needs the reminder that every woman in town wants him. And why wouldn’t they? ” …
“I roll my eyes, desperate for levity. “Don’t you ever tire of women pawing at you?” Griffin exhales, a wry smile crossing his mouth. “A little flirting I can handle. But when some chick interrupts me when I’m with my woman? That’s a problem.” The words land like a sucker punch. My woman. The way he says it isn’t casual—it’s a claim. Solid. Certain. And just like that, I realize I have nothing to fear.”
Hold onto your cowboy hats, because in Tangled Kisses, M.L. Broome delivers a scorching and deeply emotional journey between two broken souls. Tangled Kisses is a messy story of redemption and fierce protection, driven by two complex characters you’ll root for from the very first page.
Check your typical Western vibes at the door, though. Griffin is nothing like any cowboy you've ever known, other than his sense of duty to those he loves and his work ethic that never quits. He carries a heavy personal past that has left him dedicated to his sister, who has a disability. He's willing to do whatever it takes to keep her safe and happy, including being a sought-after male escort. That all changes when he meets Reese.
Reese is a runaway bride. After literally shattering her engagement to a man who was a controlling, serial cheater, she arrives in Tangled Vines as the new nurse for the ranch. She’s not a damsel in distress, not by ANY stretch of the imagination. Reese just needs a safe harbor to rediscover her spirit and make a new plan for her life. She wasn't expecting Griffin Topete to be part of that life, though.
The chemistry between Reese and Griffin is immediate and electric. There's no slow-burn romance here. This romance burns fast, but it's built on trust, quiet respect, and shared trauma. Griffin's protective instincts are primal, but his love is patient and enduring. Watching this protective cowboy shield Reese from her dangerous fiancé is incredibly satisfying. Even more satisfying is that every shared glance and every healing touch is masterfully executed as Reese rediscovers herself and helps Griffin see that he can be the man he wants to be, not the man he thinks he has to be.
If you love high-stakes emotional drama, a hero and heroine both earning their second chance, and an ending where an abuser gets exactly what he deserves, Tangled Kisses is a must-read. It’s gritty, passionate, and a reminder that everyone deserves to be loved and to feel safe in that love. Gfiffin is a green flag hero you won't soon forget. Grab this book and jump in, you won't regret the ride!
Tropes: Redemption Arc, Protector Her, Cowboy Romance, Forced Proximity, He Falls First and Hard
This book was great! It was completely different than I originally expected. It’s a slow burn, he falls first, with a really good twist at the end I didn’t see a way out of. I enjoyed the storyline and Griffin is totally boyfriend goals in all the perfect cowboy ways. I loved this enough I would reread!
Thank you to Love Notes PR for the ARC copy of Tangled Kisses.
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of tangled kisses! I had some qualms with the FMC but as you got to know her and her history more they became much more forgivable. Best to read the trigger warnings beforehand
My poor Reese she went through so many emotions in this book and still second guessed herself when griffin was being so honest and upfront with her.
This book goes through such a wide range of emotions as I read this story; love, anger, sadness, adoration. This was a beautiful story about starting over, finding love in places you never thought possible, and learning how to live again.
The last five years have been trying for Reese: she's set to marry into a wealthy family where nothing is good enough, her fiance is cheating and he isn't trying to be discreet about it, and she's just overall unhappy. With her sister's advice, she uproots her life from New York to Oregon, and what a change of scenery will do for you!
Griffin is such a man that you can't help but fall in love with him. He's not only a sexy cowboy with a sinful mouth but he's protective, loving, and supportive. The first time he met Reese he knew he was done for her. The sacrifices that he made for her, the groveling that he didn't hesitate to do, and his profound love for her was beautiful. He fought HARD to win over Reese's trust without ever pushing her. Every time she pulled away and tried to run, he was right there to catch her with open arms. I think we can all agree that we love a man who loves hard but fights even harder.
Reese was a phenomenal female character as she left an abusive past and entered into an entirely different version of yourself. She not only found her true self again but she found a love so beautiful and so strong with Griffin. She fought hard to keep her walls up but Griffin's sweet personality mixed in with his charm and filthy mouth made her swoon quickly. Girl, I get it too. Don't worry haha. She not only grows with Griffin but becomes a version of herself that can she love again.
I WILL say it Sabine I do not like you and you can go pound sand. Vander, you are the weakest man I have ever met beating on woman when they stay up to you, go for in a hole.
Piper, I am so excited for you and your next journey. With the Easter eggs left I am not sure if book 2 will be hers or someone else’s. I am very excited to continue this series.
A microtrope I never knew I could LOVE the way I did.
Reese has just ended her engagement and left a relationship she thought she deserved and has to start all over again. With no place to go or friends from her old life somehow through the encouragement of her sister she ends up in Tangled Vines on the Rockin’ Rodeo Ranch which is anything but your normal cowboy ranch….
She literally falls on her ass in the path of Griffin, a man who is the defintion of golden retriever and lover boy. From the moment he laid his eyes on Reese he was a goner. His only downfall? He is a gorgeous, sexy, lady’s man escort worker which makes him forever off limits.
However, throughout the book you watch such a beautiful, sexy and pure yearning of love and relationship form between the two in the way that has you giggling like a little school girl from the smallest of glances and touches to fanning yourself when the spice gets too hot to imagine.
There was a familiarity and comfort of everyone’s favourite cowboy romances wrapped up into Tangled Kisses however the author did a wonderful job of making sure the story was unique and obsessive on its own.
From the moment I started to the moment I finished this book I was consumed in this book and learning about Reese and Griffin, their quirks and their reasons for what they do and ultimately how deeply they end up loving each other. As always I love books where the main woman goes on a journey of rediscovering her sense of worth and confidence and I found Reese’s journey both on her own and with the support and love from Griffin super sweet and wholesome.
I absouletely adored this book and for the future will be recommending it to ALL. It is such a quick and easy read and I loved how the author has already set up potential storylines for future characters in this series!
Actual rating: 3,5 stars. Can't rounded up the rating into 4 stars because I disliked the ending. It was sort of HEA for Griffin and Reese but the antagonist (Vander, Reese's ex-fiance) deserved so much worse, I wish Griffin finished him off but no, he just let Vander go.
This book actually was so messy. But until the ending, I enjoyed it so much. At this moment, I think I needed this chaotic soap opera kinda of story. The drama, the miscommunication, ah what a mess! But unashamedly I ate this book up until the unsatisfiedness which was the ending.
Reese was nothing like 37 years old woman. I couldn't picture her as such. She was terribly bad with communication. Oh what a load of miscommunication this woman created! I hated it but I couldn't stop reading her messy action. Griffin, damn this man was so hot. He was falling in love with Reese the moment he saw her. Yeah, instalove alert. However, their relationship development was slow. Yes, of course, because of the ✨️miscommunication✨️ There were so many times I pulled my hair so hard because of these two. Just talked already for God's sake!!!
The ranch slash brothel concept was new to me and it was certainly interesting. I think I will be back to this ranch for the second book because I think I know who would be the next couple. But will see if my guess is right or not.
Since Griffin was an escort and sex worker, expect a bunch of OW dramas. And not to forget, OM drama from Reese's ex-fiance. To top it up, Reese had major insecurity issues. So, imagine the drama following this book. Deliciously messy!
Thank you to M.L. Broome and Love Notes PR for the ARC.
After catching her fiancé cheating, Reese flees to her sister’s small town, only to find herself living at the Rockin’ Rodeo Ranch, the local brothel. There, she meets Griffin, the town’s gorgeous, sunshiney cowboy escort.
This was billed as reverse grumpy vs sunshine, and Griffin was indeed all smiles and kindness, which made him like an adorable puppy. My favourite trope of reverse age gap (she’s 37, he’s 27) was barely explored, and the insta-lust/love moved at warp speed. I struggled to buy their connection when they barely knew each other, yet Griffin was already declaring her 'the one' and upending his life.
The brothel setting was the most intriguing part, but it didn’t get enough focus. The abuse storyline should be a really serious moment, but it felt over-the-top with a villain so cartoonishly evil and a lack of real consequences that left me angry and frustrated. It wrapped up neatly, but not in a way that felt appropriate. There were some engaging side-characters whose story I'd be interested to know more about, but Reese herself was so forgettable that I didn’t even remember her name shortly after finishing. The only character who stuck with me was her awesome orange cat, Chowder.
I don't take leaving low reviews lightly, given this is the author's hard-won creative endeavour and livelihood, but I was really disappointed here. I’d hoped for a slightly gritty, quirky take on a cowboy romance with a truly unique setting, but this wasn’t it for me.
Thanks to Love Notes PR for the ARC. This is my honest opinion.
Thank you to Love Notes PR and the author for the digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is the first book in the Tangled Vines series, and it tells the story of Reese and Griffin. Reese is a New Yorker engaged to Vance, a wealthy but violent and disrespectful man. On the verge of marrying him, she decides to escape and drives cross-country to Oregon, where her sister Piper lives in a ranch. What Reese doesn’t expect is that Piper’s “ranch” is actually a brothel—and that she’s been working there. Reese is offered a job as a nurse at the brothel, and she accepts, hoping to start over.
Enter Griffin, a sex worker at the brothel, who falls for Reese instantly. Their relationship escalates quickly, turning into a romance as they both navigate their complicated circumstances.
Unfortunately, this book didn’t work for me. The insta-love was taken to an extreme (the fact that they’re engaged just six weeks after meeting was hard to believe), and Reese came across as an unconvincing and frustrating FMC. Griffin, while devoted, often felt over the top, and his language bordered on vulgar in ways that pulled me out of the story.
That being said, I will give credit where it’s due: M. L. Broome has a fluid writing style that makes the story easy to follow, and I can see where readers who enjoy heightened drama and escapist romance might connect with it. For me, though, the plot and dialogue lacked realism, and it ultimately didn’t hit the mark.
I love a small-town romance and throw in a cowboy—you’ll have me. This was absolutely sweet and a little spicy.
The last five years have been trying for Reese: she’s set to marry into a wealthy family where nothing is good enough, her fiancé is cheating and he isn’t trying to be discreet about it, and she’s just overall unhappy. With her sister’s advice, she uproots her life from New York to Oregon, and what a change of scenery will do for you!
She immediately meets Griffin, who is an absolute sweetheart. But they both come with baggage—a toxic relationship for Reese and the feeling of not being enough for Griffin. You couldn’t help but root for the two of them. I loved that for Griffin, Reese was it from the moment he saw her. He’s protective, supportive, and willing to work to break down her walls.
Reese was a good MFC. Sometimes, she frustrated me, but I completely understood her reasoning. Her ex was abusive and made her feel like she should be grateful that she caught his eye. I wanted so much better for her, and she got that in Griffin, but most importantly, herself. Now, that’s not to say her sister didn’t throw her for a loop by not giving her all the necessary information before she left for Oregon… like, this isn’t your average ranch. It’s a lot spicier than your typical run-of-the-mill ranch. That didn’t change anything for Reese, but it allowed her to be free.
Do read the trigger warnings… and then read this and let go. This book is available on Kindle Unlimited.
Wow! That’s all I have — lol just joking. This book was so phenomenal! I experienced such a wide range of emotions as I read this story; love, anger, sadness, adoration. This was a beautiful story about starting over, finding love in places you never thought possible, and learning how to live again.
Griffin is such a man that you can’t help but fall in love with him. He’s not only a sexy cowboy with a sinful mouth but he’s protective, loving, and supportive. She not only grows with Griffin but becomes a version of herself that can she love again.
My life was mundane, it wasn’t fun or exciting. What didn’t help was my fiancée is cheating on me. So I left. I accept my free spirited sister’s invitation to help out in her small town across the country. She just failed to mention it would be a brothel. Shortly after I arrived, I had a huge problem; Griffins Tapete. He’s a gorgeous cowboy with a larger than life reputation, big heart and completely off limits. One night I miss him to see if he tasted as good as my dream and it’s somehow better than I imagined.
This was a masterfully written slow burn! In between the big moments, there were so many other important moments between Reese and Griffin. I experienced so many emotions and I had a hard time putting it down. Reese was breath of fresh air and I loved how she was older than Griffin. This book had me hooked from the first line when Reese says she won’t murder her fiancée for cheating on her. It was so unexpected that it made me laugh and already like her. Reese and Griffin complemented each other really well and I like how their relationship had ups and down. I liked how one of the big trigger warnings was mentioned in the very beginning. It even said what chapter it was that way the reader could decide if they wanted to skip that chapter and wasn’t left anxious wondering when it might show up. Thank you to Love Notes PR and M. L. Broome for the arc!
Reese breaks off her toxic engagement and flees to her younger sister to get away from him and his abuse. There she meets Griffin, who is instantly enamored with her, but he works at the brothel as an escort and Griffin knows this will get in the way of his full-on pursuit of Reese. Reese is not about to jump in to a relationship with Griffin after what she’s been through and what she would be expected to tolerate with his job. Griffin works to break down Reese’s walls, but also struggles to believe that he is worthy of her. He’s paid to make women have the boyfriend experience and somewhere along the way, he loses his self worth. Meanwhile, Reese is also discovering herself and who she is without other’s expectations bearing down on her.
Griffin was so sweet. Total Golden Retriever energy. He lifts Reese up and reassures her and honestly, loves her with everything he has. Everyone could use a Griffin in their lives! I loved the unique idea of a brothel and the characters themselves. Piper was awesome too and I hope her story is coming up. Some OW drama obviously, but I loved that I never doubted Griffin’s feelings for Reese. Angsty, drama, and heartwarming!
I really wanted to love Tangled Kisses, but I found the ending was the only part that truly held my attention.
The story follows Reese, a nurse who, while out shopping for housewares with her fiancé, finally reaches her breaking point and confronts him about his constant flirting and cheating. She soon finds herself in Oregon, where her sister lives, working temporarily as a nurse at a brothel. There, she meets Griffin, one of the escorts, and for him it’s love at first sight. He’s willing to give up everything for a chance at a future with Reese.
I thought the overall story was strong, and I especially enjoyed how well Griffin’s emotions came through on the page. However, Reese held me back from fully loving this book. She came across as frustrating and overly reliant on others’ opinions. More than once I wanted to jump into the book and tell her to find her confidence instead of letting everyone else dictate what she believed.
The book also touches on some heavy topics such as domestic violence, drinking and driving, and includes some open-door spice.
Thank you to the author and Love Notes PR for the ARC.
What to expect; -reverse grumpy x sunshine -small town romance -reverse age gap -friends to lovers -he falls first -slow burn -forbidden
This book was brilliant, I experienced such a variety of emotions - love, anger, sadness, adoration! The story was beautiful, it was about starting over, finding love in places you never thought you could, and learning how to live again.
Griffin is just a man you can’t help but fall in love with, he’s not just a sexy cowboy with a dirty mouth, he’s protective, supportive and full of love. He knew as soon as he set eyes on Reese that she was it for him! The sacrifices he made for her, the grovelling he didn’t even hesitate to do, and his profound love for her was just beautiful to read. He fought hard to win Reese’s trust without ever pushing her.
Reese is a phenomenal FMC, I couldn’t help but root for her. She left her abusive past and found an entirely different version of herself. She tried so hard to keep her walls strong but Griffins sweetness, mixed with his charm, made them crumble. She not only grows with Griffin, but becomes a version of herself that she can love again.
Tangled kisses Arc review🌻🪻 My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 First of all I want to thank both the author and Love Notes PR for the amazing opportunity to read and review the book, I am incredibly grateful.🩷 Wow this book was such an amazing experience, the amount of times I got pissed of at one specific and also the emotional parts were so good and needed!! But the slow burn between the main characters was so freaking good!! The MMC, Griffin has an unusual job which also complicate the relationship between him and Reese (FMC). Reese was hurt so much that she finds difficult to trust people and let them in her life, so she feels a little bit conscious of how can a person so sweet, kind and may other things like griffin can be for her. I also loved to see the relationship between Reese and her sister Piper, they're so supportive of each other!! Last but not least this book has some "heavier"/ sensible topics so be sure to check out the trigger warnings! I really loved this book and it was so much more deep and emotional than what I was expecting! I really recommend it!! Quotes: "I was born to love you. I was ready to fight for you." "You give yourself to someone, it means something. Hell, it means everything. And if he couldn’t see that? Then he never deserved you in the first place." ButI’m not looking at the horizon. I focus on her. Reese is the only view I want.
I was fortunate enough to receive this book as an ARC. I haven’t read anything by M.L. Broome before but I will definitely be checking out the rest of their books. This book was so amazing. I loved the FMC so much. I love how she was feisty and real in her insecurities. I think the same things of myself that she was expressing. Reese is so real and raw and I love that she was 37 years old versus being a 22 year old. Seeing older FMC still get their happy ending is perfect. Now on to Griffin…..he’s the perfect MMC. Griffin is so loving and I love seeing the vulnerability in him. Every man has insecurities and doubts and to see it played out so perfectly with such a manly man cowboy type was absolutely perfect. As much as I love both Reese and Griffin…I have to say my favorite character would have to be Chowder. Who doesn’t love orange cat behavior. I absolutely cannot WAIT to read the next installment of the Tangled Vines series. If the next one is anything like this one, I already know I will love it.
Oh, what a lovely read! It was just what I needed. Broome hooked me good with this absolutely compelling read. I loved every moment, and was pleasantly surprised by some very unexpected elements to the story that added so, so much!
I was invested in Reese's escape from her awful toxic relationship right from the start, and she offered a good character to follow the story with. Her fears and worries were so close to my heart and definitely made sense based on what she'd been through, so I really enjoyed how the author used the miscommunication trope by integrating it into the character's psychological profile.
Griffin is such a sweetheart and definitely brought all the cowboy vibes, but with some very unexpected twists. I absolutely loved how this author does the unexpected and I was rooting for Griffin from the moment I understood the real difficulties he was battling with.
Loved it as much as I love all this author's books and cannot wait for the next novel in this series to come out!
Adored by him Wow! I loved this story. When a man as gorgeous as Griffin with a big heart instantly sees and falls for his forever person. Reese, new to town and fresh out of a bad relationship heads to Tangled Vines where her sister has organised a nursing position where she works. Griffin, knowing that if he wants a relationship with Reese he would certainly have to go slow. With him working at the brothel where they both work means, in her mind he is off limits. No matter how he makes her feel or how gorgeous he looks. Can he prove her wrong and show her that she is all he wants and needs? Can she open up her heart and let this good looking cowboy in? Such a beautiful story with lots of love, some good times and sad times. A great storyline with wonderful characters plus steamy at times. Loved it. Looking forward to the next book. Thank you M L Broome and Love Notes PR for the opportunity to read this story.
4.5/5⭐️ Wow! What an interesting and original premise. Reese has just broken off her engagement and needs a new place to stay. She ends up at heading to her sister’s place and surprise, surprise, she ends up at a whorehouse, The Rockin’ Rodeo Ranch.
She quickly befriends Griffin who is head over heels besotted by her. Unfortunately, he is totally off-limits thanks to the nature of his job. But the pull between them is undeniable and their friendship becomes something more.
There were so many swoon-worthy moments throughout and I loved how Griffin and Reese grow in their journey together. For Griffin, he realises that money is not everything and that Reese is his priority; while Griffin helps Reese with her confidence and self-worth.
It’s my first time reading this author and I was definitely blown away. This may be the first book I read, but it definitely won’t be the last. I can’t wait to see the rest, Piper and Capri especially, getting their Happy Ever After!
✨Tropes✨ 🔥Slow Burn 🔥Small Town 🔥Reverse Age Gap 🔥Friends to Lovers 🔥Cinnamon Roll MMC 🔥He Falls First 🌶️🌶️ ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Reese has just left her cheating fiance. She doesn't know what to do. Luckily her sister Piper has a solution. Come work as the nurse at the Rocking Rodeo Ranch that Piper works at. Minor ranch injuries can't be that hard right? Except this isn't that kind of ranch. Now, she's working and living at a brothel. Which wouldn't be a problem if it weren't for one of the escorts. Griffin hates what he does for a living especially after he meets Reese. While he falls hard, she has him in the no go zone. This was a sexy, sweet slow burn. The characters are perfect for each other. Griffin just wants someone to see him as more than a pretty face. Reese has issues with self-worth. They have good chemistry. Griffin is a bit of a dirty talker which I love. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who likes a slow burn with a hot cowboy with a dirty mouth.
This book was funny, courageous, heartfelt and fun. I loved the characters here. Griffin is a good ole cowboy, with SO much heart, passion and work ethic. A true Golden Retriever! I'm not normally into cowboys, but Griffin changed my mind on that! 😍 He loves Reese with such a passion, and he isn't afraid to show it. 🥹 If only everyone was that way! Reese is a fiesty gal and we love her for it! She comes from an abusive fiance, and she is a bit jaded. But oh does Griffin bring out a side of her! 🔥 The relationship they build is perfect them, it really is a sweet story.
Now listen, this is a slow burn, it takes time for them to build their relationship and then to truly believe that the other feels the same way about them. That drags on a bit but if you like a slow burn, you won't mind it. And I love a reverse age gap moment! 👏🏻
If you like: 🤭Forbidden Romance 🌦Grumpy/Sunshine (Reverse!) ❤️🔥He falls first 🤠Cowboy 🏡Small Town Romance ⏪️Reverse Age Gap 🥰HEA
Oh, my heart broke a little with this story but of course, it was pieced back together for the HEA. What an emotional ride! Reese is running away from an abusive cheating ex, who simply won’t let her go, she seeks refuge with her younger sister across the country at a ranch where she unexpectedly meets a handsome cowboy full of charm and swoon. Griffin is a resident of the ranch and his life is flipped from the moment Reese arrives. It’s love at first sight for him, but Reese needs more convincing after the trauma she has suffered. Griffin is patient and this story is super steamy and lots of flirting fun. Great start to a new series and I’m excited to read more of the residents in the Tangled Vines series!

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Spice:🌶️🌶️ I enjoyed this story overall. The slow-burn pining, the uncertainty, and the tension of having a job that doesn’t allow for a normal relationship made the romance engaging. Griffin’s brand of love is heartfelt and genuine, and I could see why Reese initially struggled to trust him.
That said, after a while, the constant miscommunications, running away, and assumptions without talking started to feel repetitive, and Reese’s behavior sometimes felt more teenage than someone in her late 30s. Things picked up again toward the end with the return of the ex, and while I have mixed feelings about some of the darker elements—especially a villain getting away without consequences—I still appreciated the resolution and the couple’s happily ever after.
Special mention to Chowder the cat, who, as all cats do, played the most important role in the story.
Tangled Kisses by M.L. Broome is the kind of story that grabs you from the very first page and doesn’t let go. Reese is a heroine you immediately root for—raw, sharp, vulnerable, and done putting up with lies. Her journey from heartbreak to rediscovery is fiery, messy, and deeply empowering. Then there’s Griffin. Oh, Griffin. The cowboy who falls first and falls hard—he’s protective, tender, and just the right kind of dangerous for Reese’s bruised heart. The chemistry between them burns off the page, but it’s the emotional depth and healing that make this romance unforgettable. This isn’t just a cowboy romance—it’s about finding the courage to walk away from the wrong love and being brave enough to open your heart again. If you like your heroes devoted and your heroines fierce, Tangled Kisses will steal your breath.
✨ Favorite Quote: “You’ll know love when it comes.”
While the premise had all the tropes I usually enjoy (reverse age gap, small town, cowboy romance), the story felt unrealistic and overly contrived. I’ve read many small town cowboy romances that struck a balance between escapism and believability, but this one lacked the authenticity I needed to stay invested.
What didn’t work for me ?
- The setting felt unrealistic: a “cowboy brothel” that looked more like a four-star resort with a fully equipped clinic. - The FMC, almost forty, behaved with little emotional maturity. - Griffin quitting his job and financial responsibilities over the heroine felt reckless, not romantic. - Overall tone read like a predictable holiday TV movie, lacking depth and authenticity.
I enjoyed this story. Griffin is swoony. Quick to change his life, when he never expected to be more than what he had become, to take care of his sister. Reece is so very insecure. Makes you want to smack her. BUT Griff handles it much better than that.
While, I did expect more details about the ranch and the acts performed there to be more of a topic of conversation this story did not need them.
It reads like a spicy hallmark movie and I did love that aspect. I love the side characters and of course my favorite is a grumpy orange cat!!
This is very much insta-love. WHICH IS A FAVORITE OF MINE!
A body should have been buried, but the outcome was still beneficial to Reece and Griff's future.
Thanks M.L. and Love Notes PR. ARC read. All opinions are my own.
Omg I was NOT prepared for how freaking amazing this book would be! Emotional and angsty and just wow! I’m going to be obsessed with this series!! Reese is running, running away from the high society New York, abusive fiancé. She runs straight to her free spirited sister and the “ranch” she lives on. Little does she know it’s a brothel. Griffin is an employee and sells his soul on the daily to keep his disabled sister happy and healthy. And then love at first sight, the moment he sees Reese he falls madly and deeply! Their relationship is anything but easy though. It’s never ending obstacles and heartbreaking situations. They fight hard for each other making that HEA that much sweeter!! Looooved this book so much 🖤💕🖤
An unexpected and unique plot. With complexity I wasn't expecting.
I adored Griffin and his whole back story. His good guy nature and genuine kindness stole my heart.
Reese wasn't really grumpy as advertised. Her character was guarded with no self confidence after abuse. I loved that she was accepting of the setting and had hidden depths.
Their romance was very slow burn. I did enjoy their connection although very insta lust. I also got frustrated when most of their "issues" could have been sorted out with a honest conversation.
The way the book wrapped up was a bit dissapointing. Certain characters didn't have any consequences for their actions. Maybe that's realistic but it I needed some vengeance.
Overall a good read that slightly missed the mark for me.
