An erotic tale from beyond the stars
Sophie Perez has never believed the stuff she reads online about possible life in space. Aliens are for the movies, for the weirdoes, and they most definitely are not real.
One night on the way home from a late shift at work, her car breaks down. Stranded on the side of a country road, with a dead cell phone, doesn’t seem like that big of a deal.
Until strange neon lights appear in the sky. She thinks it is her imagination.
When an inexplicable circular ship appears overhead, she can’t deny what’s clearly right in front of her. Especially when moments later, she’s taken onto the ship, a human hostage among those who are most definitely not human.
About to become a human guinea pig, possibly worse, the last thing she ever expects is to like the things these otherworldly beings subject her to. In fact, it is unlike anything she’s ever experienced.
Will Sophie find her way back to her planet, or will she beg to stay where her pleasure is literally out of this world?

Cambria Hebert is a bestselling novelist of more than fifty titles. She went to college for a bachelor’s degree, couldn’t pick a major, and ended up with a degree in cosmetology. So rest assured her characters will always have good hair.
Besides writing, Cambria loves a pumpkin spice latte, staying up late, sleeping in, and watching K drama until her eyes won’t stay open. She considers math human torture and has an irrational fear of chickens (yes, chickens). I only read part one of three parts, but I'm not interested in continuing. I didn't enjoy the writing much.

His lips covered mine totally as he rubbed them over mine like he was a piece of sandpaper and I was wood that needed smoothing.

That's not necessarily a sample of me not enjoying the writing style, but it's quite an interesting simile and I needed to share it. I just think of myself using sandpaper when I refinish my furniture. Never thought to compare it to a sexy kiss. Silly me!

I met Mrs. Hebert at Carolina Book Fest. I was new to her books. She gave me a little peek into this book.....so I bought it not sure what to expect. WOW! Did it ever exceed expectations. That was one of the hottest and best written books I have read. I will not tell you about the story......you have to read it. Warning. I did cry near the end. I liked it so much I have since read 2 more of her books.

Cambria Hebert writes an alien sex story. But because it's Hebert, it's also got some pretty interesting plot and musings on emotions, attachments, and being human. It was a bit more on the shallower side than I wanted. The book could definitely have been fleshed out more as it takes place over approximately 7 months

It was an amusing and quick read. I'd welcome a sequel because I honestly felt a bit bad for Matt, and thought he needed his own story too.

Though my quibble: If these Sapiens can't reproduce on their own, why are the men basically forcing human women to carry their pregnancies? Why aren't the Sapien females going down to Earth to bang the willing Earth men, and then once they get pregnant, go on their merry way? It seems that would avoid a lot of the trouble the Sapiens are going through.

Serial novella in one Kindle book. amazon:B00M760UYQ

I enjoyed it very much. It's a 'normal girl meets space man and falls in love and they have a baby' story, but most all of the characters are likeable and you want them to have an HEA. I found myself emotionally invested in the outcome.

This is a new author for me, and it's a pleasure to read something not full of typos and mistakes.

Title: Distant Desire

Series: Standalone

Author: Cambria Hebert

Genre: Paranormal Erotic Romance

Blurb:

An erotic tale from beyond the stars.

Thoughts:

Bright lights, alien abductions, clothes being ripped off, experimentation...sounds like an episode from the "X-Files," but Cambria Hebert spins it with her special author powers and suddenly it's a paranormal erotic romance with an HEA. Definitely not something Fox Mulder and Dana Scully would have written up in their report. Sophie is a college student waitressing at a local bar in a no-name town when late one night on her way home, her Jeep sputters to a stop, her cell phone quits and bright lights appear from nowhere. (Key in the "X-Files" soundtrack.) Next she finds herself on an examination table and surprisingly aroused and intrigued by an alien in a silver robe with the hood hiding what appears to be some well-chiseled features. Tarek, sent from his home planet of Sapia, has been studying life on Earth. His special mission...to successfully impregnate a healthy female and bring the child back to repopulate his planet. The Sapien females, while beautiful, aren't producing anymore children. When times were good, they mated only to procreate then the offspring were raised separately from its parents. All very cold and sterile, just like the Sapien’s lack of emotions. Until now, all attempts have failed. Aliens "0," Humans "X," or is it a "+" sign or two lines? Anyway, great, fast-paced story from a favorite author of mine! If you’re looking for some extraterrestrial heat, look no further than Cambria Hebert’s Distant Desires.

So, this genre, alien romance, was/is not my thing. Nothing wrong with it, I just have never had a desire to read any. Well, enter a monthly book challenge which had sci-fi as a category. I remembered Cambria had one so I figured I would check it out. (I am an huge fan of Cambria’s “regular” romance). To my surprise it was nothing like I thought it would be. Yes, there were “aliens“ and being “beamed up” was involved but the way she wrote it made it almost believable! I figured I would read a chapter before bed but I became so engrossed in it, before I knew it, I had finished it!

Sophie was on her way home from work one night and her car died. Shortly after, she began to hear weird noises and to her surprise, a spaceship appeared. Had she had one too many drinks at work? Aliens were not real, right? She found out she was wrong when she was taken aboard. Sophie knew she should be running for her life, so why did she feel so connected to him?

It was certainly out there but it was a fun read! I can’t say I was converted to continue reading this genre but I am glad I took the chance on it!

This book was very different from anything else I’ve ever read and I loved it! It had a good mix of romance and fantasy. You really have to keep your mind open and just allow yourself to believe that what happens in this book could really happen. Otherwise it might seem ridiculous to you. But I was able to keep an open mind and fully embrace the story that this author gave us. I’m very glad I found this book to read. My only complaint was that I did get a little bored in the middle because there was a lot of repetitive sex scenes. But I really didn’t feel like that was worth a 4 star instead of a 5. Maybe a 4.5 :)

I stinking loved this book!! I mean really loved it! It was great and hot and I wanted to be abducted by an alien...lol

It was a great fast read with a sci fi element and was just all around a great read. Cambria has fun with her writing and this one had elements of suspense and I even teared up a little...
REALLY GOOD!!

100 stars for this amazing book!! It's not your regular erotic romance. It's beyond that and very very different. The story picks up momentum from the first chapter itself and till the last chapter, it has this genius storyline that will put you hooked up to your place! Amazing book. 5 stars are not enough to accolade it. I want a sequel!!!!!!! Cambria Hebert This writer has stolen my heart!!

I read all of parts 1-3 in consecutive order, so I'm going to review it the same way.

Part One:

I was intrigued when I read the summary; a normal girl abducted by a emotionless and curious alien in a silky robe.
It was a bit fast paced in the beginning, but to be fair, the beginning didn't need to be described in a lot of detail because it was fairly simple.

Just like our heroine Sophie, I would be totally freaked out if I started hearing noises and seeing bright lights, and even more so if I was pulled up into an alien's ship. I like how curious the alien is about Sophie at first, which leads into kinky "sex" with fingers, toys, etc. The detail is very good during those types of scenes. In the first part you don't get to know much about the sexually curious alien, but that's what makes it interesting. The suspense of who he really is builds and builds, hooking you in.
Suspense
Then right after mind blowing orgasms, here comes the sexy playboy, Matt. At first he comes off a bit, well, like a playboy, which made him unappealing to me.
Near the half way point/end of the first part you can see how addicted Sophie is starting to get to the mysterious alien, which develops even more as the story goes on.

At first I didn't know that it was part of three, I thought that it would be more complete than it was; it ends on a big cliffhanger. Trust me, you'll need to read the next part of the book after you finish part one.

Part Two:

Part Three

Overall I liked this book (mini series) but could be expanded here and there. The plot was a bit cliche but has many original aspects that I liked.

WOW!
This one is out of this world good ;) get it? It was such an awesome story and it gets an automatic 5 from me for the super awesome ending to this part of the story. It ended with a BANG for sure. I am so glad that I bought all three parts because the cliffhanger in the end of this part would have killed me if I had to wait for the next part for more than one day. I am definitely reading the next part tonight because I cannot wait to see what happens next. I was left in shock with that ending.
The story is well written. The stories from this author are always super good and entertaining and this one is just as good as the others I have read from her except that this is more on the sci-fi genre but even though it's not something I am used to reading from this author I must say it is incredibly good. I am so curious about this alien (Tarek) and I cannot wait to read more. The experiments performed to the main character (Sophie) were a little bit on the shocking side (but in a good way) I was just thinking OMG I can't believe that is happening... Now on to the second part :)
Awesome story!

Really good story

Plot: B
The plot was good. It wasn't like I expected. I thought, for some reason, that Matt and Sophie, and Sophie and Tarek was going to different. The story had me wondering until the very end, and for a moment had me wondering if there was going to be no HEA. But everything worked out in the end, and in an unexpected way. I wish we had other character's POV, but it worked well with just Sophie's.
Characters: B
I liked Sophie. I thought that she acted rationally, for the most part, with the exception of the beginning. I really liked Tarek, though what he did was wrong. But it was their culture, and he changed for the better, so it turned out ok. I liked witnessing him gain emotions, and loved some of the things he said to Sophie.I loved Matt's character, and how sweet he was, and I felt bad for him.
Sex: B+
There were some really spicy scenes, and in abundance.

I have read many of Cambria Hebert's books and do enjoy reading her books. I was skeptical reading Distant Desires at first based on the blurbs for some reason I didn't think it would be good. Boy was I wrong. This book blew me away because of how much I loved it. I have to admit this was written very nicely where while having sexual content it still gave a nice storyline.
I liked how the story developed from beginning to the end and the way the characters progressed.
Cambria had mentioned before on her website that this book contains erotica and was a paranormal story. I noticed how people mentioned this was an unrealistic story but keep in mind it is a paranormal story so that is what you should expect.

Unusual alien romance

Unusual alien romance

I will start with, this is not great literature, but if you are looking for a fun, sexy, alien abduction romance you will like this story. It was an unusual abduction story compared to others I have read, and I've read a lot. The unusual part being the unfeeling alien beginning. That did change for the better. The characters where likable and interesting. Good quick read.

Overall the story was a very sweet alien romance. I liked the chemistry and relationship build. However the downside was Cambria's descriptions including lots of hyperbole for everything such as Tarek's eyes, the sex scenes, etc. It made the story a little strange to read and I kept having these "huh" moments.

Definitely unique supernatural tale. I was a bit hesitant about diving into a story between a human and Alien who fall in love. But this story is so much more than that and I'm so glad I took the chance and read it.

This is more like an R-Rated young adult\new adult book. Some of it is just so immature, and the changes the alien hero made to himself were not really believable to me. I don't know, it's not a bad book. They are a lot of sexy times in here, but it just felt kind of fake. 3.5 🌟

Ok

This was to farfetched for me. I like a little paranormal every once in awhile, but this learned more onto the ridiculous side. I had expected a lot more from this author. It was disappointing.
