Mark envies his friend Sebastian and the Cougar who tamed him. For years he’s had his eye on a sexy, older, married woman. Despite his and Bastian’s sexual adventures, he refuses to poach outside his steamy fantasies.

Sloan travels with the race car drivers as the league’s publicist. Living abroad can be lonely, especially when touring somewhere like China - where beautiful landscapes surround them but language and cultural barriers are high.

Until she meets Lynn, who shares her love of erotic romances. In Lynn, she gains more than a friend because sexy-as-sin navigator Mark is never far from the Cougar and her fiancé, Sebastian - making Sloan wonder if it’s time rejoin the dating scene after her nasty divorce.

When Lynn notices the chemistry between Mark and Sloan, she issues the Cougar Challenge. Sloan never imagined she might grant her younger lover the strength to explore the sexual tension that has been building between him and his friend since their Cougars entered their lives.

Four friends, two couples ... one night none of them will forget.

Jayne sure does know how to write a steamy book, and I have always available admired her ability to inject humor and sizzling amounts of heat into her books. Shifting Gears was no exception, and these two characters were perfectly matched. My only issue was the rushed feel of the book, and the conflict just seemed rather ridiculous to me. I'm not going to spoil what happens, but I just felt like it was forced and out of place with what was going on in the story. Overall though, I did enjoy this book. I do wish we had more coming of these insanely hot couples, because I think they have so much more left to explore. Jayne, I want a honeymoon story!!!!

A nice follow-up to Driven. The beginning was funny for me, how Mark knew nothing of the Cougar Challenge and then was offended that he might be used, when he used many women in his past. Glad he got past that. :-) It was interesting to see how Lynn introduced the idea of m/m with Sloan. It was also, I don't know, a little humorous how Sebastian really wanted it but wasn't sure how to discuss it with Mark. Really cute that it was a double wedding at the end, too.

Sloan is a publicist for the racing circuit and loves to read romance novels. She meets Lynn and they start talking about books. One thing leads to another and Lynn introduces her to the cougar blog she belongs to. Mark has had a crush on Sloan for a while but never approached her because she was married. Once he finds out she is divorced, he pursues her and sparks fly! Jayne Rylon has written another hot book and that's no surprise. I am really enjoying this series and I know you will too.

I thought this was a hot follow up to Driven. I'm still not a huge fan to instant love but this one really was so hot, I overlooked it. I especially loved the . And the ending was sweet. Overall, I thought it was a cute read.

I am kinda iffy about the whole cougar series. It was a great idea but I felt like some of the stories were missing something. This one really delivered with the heat and the story was nice too!

And oh boy there is some MM action so hot you'll need to soak in an ice bath to cool off!

Very steamy and hot reads! The fellas are young and virile and the ladies are older vibrant and looking for action!

Wow!

Loved this series. Great storyline. Characters radiated chemistry. The sex was hot enough to burn. Would have loved to had a scene from the honeymoon, though. If this is your style of books, you don't want to miss this series. Go Jayne!

Short and Steamy doesn't quite cover it. WOW. This book is delicious and I would recommend you get it immediately following the first book - Driven. Both are seriously hot. Books this hot don't normally have much of a story but I did enjoy the story as well although I would have loved more. Jayne Rylon is now one of my favorite authors!

3.75 out of 5. A continuation of another Cougar Challenge story involving the international race world. A very erotic novella with some interesting contexts and certainly a number of romantic encounters. Like so many stories in this series, just way too short.
