The last thing I wanted was a boyfriend, let alone two.
I wanted to explore my sensual side in a safe space, a club designed where other like-minded people can experiment and discover themselves. It was a chance to take back the confidence my ex had stolen.
No strings attached.
No relationships.
So, of course, a heated one-night stand changed everything.
But the man helping me check off my erotic wishlist wasn’t just one ridiculously hot guy. Instead, I find myself caught in the snare of identical twins playing a dangerous game.
They don’t deserve forgiveness for the way they basically parent-trapped me at a sex club, but I just can’t stop coming back for more. You know what they say… two is always better than one.
We promised each other that things would stay purely physical, friends with benefits only.
Too bad my stupid heart gets involved. Is it possible that this connection has derailed their plans and they feel something too?
I’ve got a prestigious career, societal expectations, and a vengeful ex to contend with. Will I let that all get in the way of my happiness, or will I finally take what I want, times two?

this one i believe had less drama in my mind and more spicy. Twin brothers who kinda parent trap an ONS and it was funny. Kate is over her divorce and just wants to have fun and enjoy her singleness. She meets one twin and well they have a blast. Months later she meets the 2nd twin who lied because he liked her.
At least Ben and Gavin were kinda guilty with the lies. But when Kate found out the truth I was glad she stood her ground and made them grovel. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 we do deal with the ex-husband who for some reason wants her % of his business which is wired. But our boys got Kate's back.
Saftey-it was mentioned that fmc during the 4 months after the ones she dated and had sex with randomly wasn't shown just mentioned, and the mmcs was mentioned their sex life. And how they shared .
No ow/tiny om (her ex), no cheating, Drama, sexy times, no virgins

I really enjoyed this book! I would compare to a less dark version of Graves, which is one of my favorites! I love that Kate came into her own after a divorce and went after what she wanted. I loved Gavin and Ben both!
Honestly. 10/10. No notes. Utter perfection from start to finish 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I absolutely loved the plot. I was hooked from the moment I started until the very last page. I adored the characters. I loved how determined and vocal the FMC was, even if she was nervous and unsure, she was relatable and brave.
The twins were just absolute perfection. I loved how they were two sides of a coin. Different, but complimentary. The best of both worlds. I loved that each of their personalities and wants were distinct and different, they never blended together for me. And I loved how they moved and grew on their own timelines.
The communication was done well with it being MFM. I never felt like anyone was left out and that neither twin was favored. And also, there was no weird instances of twincest. Sharing yes, but no weird boundaries were crossed.
The spice? Holy mother of god. I simply *died*. It was TOP TIER. I have never read an instance of such, romantic and soft topping. And I absolutely loved it. I feel like it was done so well and it had me absolutely sweating 🥵
All in all. This was by far my favorite of the series. I literally am unwell after reading it. Absolutely 100/10. READ IT.
I had such a great time reading this book! The three main characters stole the show for me, each one bringing their own depth and personality to the table. The special bond they share is heartwarming, and the chemistry is sizzling! The way their relationship plays out with a unique power dynamic was refreshing—I haven’t encountered anything quite like it before. I found myself rooting for them every step of the way!
Gavin and Ben, who are identical twins, couldn’t be more different. Gavin is the more dominant one; he’s confident, a bit grumpy, and likes to take charge. On the flip side, Ben is like your friendly golden retriever—he’s cheerful, easygoing, and brings joy wherever he goes. He also has a more submissive side. Then there’s Kate, our fabulous FMC, who just came out of a tough divorce after discovering her husband’s long-term betrayal. She decides to focus on herself and explore her own desires. I loved her confidence! She knows exactly what she wants and is open to new experiences.
Watching their relationship evolve was such a treat! They initially start as friends with benefits, but it’s clear that their feelings deepen over time. Kate is understandably hesitant at first and tries to keep her distance, but I love how Gavin and Ben gently prove that they’re different from her past relationship. Both of them are so patient and understanding.
The family dynamic is also a highlight! Their playful sibling banter had me laughing, and you can feel the love behind their antics. They welcomed Kate with open arms into their tight-knit family, which was heartwarming to see. Overall, this book was such a delightful read. There’s plenty of spice, but it’s also filled with fun, sweet moments that make it special!
Well I’m sad to see the end of this series, but damn that was a great way to finish it. I was so excited for Gavin and Ben to get a story and not only did it lived up to all my expectations, it far surpassed them. These three fit together so beautifully. I absolutely loved this one and if MFM with twins is your jam then I highly recommend this super spicy story.
Genre: Adult Contemporary Romance Spice: 3.5/5🌶️ *spice ratings are relative to similar books in the same genre* (3.5/5 means this was slightly spicier than average)

Synopsis: After her grueling divorce, Kate is looking to finally expand her horizon and experiment with all the things her ex prevented. After a scorching hookup that confirms all her desires, she signs up for Avalon, a k!nk club, where she bumps into the man that rocked her world. Except Ben is really the identical twin to Gavin, and when he realizes how perfect she is for them, a game of parent trap level twin-scapades ensues.
Thoughts: The Carlson Brothers series is one of my all time favs because of how well these books meld together humor, k!nk, and HEA warm fuzzies. Each book can be read as a standalone!
Double Your Standards, the last book in this series, was absolutely wonderful. I am completely hooked on the dynamic between Ben, Gavin, and Kate. This is the first book I’ve read with a Dom/Switch/Sub vibe and lemme just say *tucks hair behind ear* I’m a huge fan. It really brought a new perspective to MFM relationships.
Their romance was equal parts emotional, hilarious, and hawt. I’m always a huge fan of the “idiots in love” trope and Ben and Gavin really hit the spot! In addition, the plot surrounding Kate and her ex was unexpected and so, so satisfying in its conclusion.
I cannot recommend this series enough for those looking for k!nky romances with humor and a touch of taboo!
• Why Choose/MFM • Twin sandwich • Low angst • Mutual pining • S*x club scenes • S*xual exploration • Forced proximity • Protective MMC • Some OM drama • Friends with benefits • Dom/switch/sub • HOTTT SPICE
What a perfect end to this series! The Carlson Brothers series has been such a fun and HOT ride. It just might be my favorite Sarah Blue series to date. First, she gave us Daddy Aiden and Jessa with that fantastic age gap, then Lincoln and Penny's taboo story packed with gloryh*le moments, and now she drops this absolute banger (pun 100% intended). I absolutely loved the direction she took Ben and Gavin’s story. It couldn’t have been executed any better, especially with the connection these two shared. They needed a beautiful woman with a huge heart to come in and love them both, and Katherine was exactly that. She accepted each of then from the start.
Never once did Sarah drop some high angst in this book, which honestly, I think most of us would’ve expected going in. There was definitely some mutual pining, but Katherine was a woman who knew exactly what she wanted. And I couldn’t see her ever picking between the two.
Both were total opposites. They might have been twins, but they couldn’t have been more different. The chemistry these three had was unreal. I couldn’t get enough. But what stood out most to me was the balance they shared in and out of the bedroom. Once they accepted the direction their relationship was heading, I loved how all three of them leaned into it. Especially since it allowed the twins to keep the connectionthey had always had together.
The way Sarah described the bond between Ben and Gavin and how the dynamic shifted to include Katherine felt so natural and seamless. I also loved Katherine’s ability to switch so effortlessly from sub to femdom. It was so perfectly written. And that only made their relationship feel even more balanced. The dynamic 100% worded for all of them. She gave both men exactly what they needed, in totally different ways, and it never felt forced or out of character. It just worked. And it made their connection even more addictive to read. Their relationship didn’t just feel believable. It felt meant to be. An absolutely perfect send-off to this series.
(these is a ridiculously HOT p*gging scene in this book!!!!)
and just like that, sarah closes out another series with a banger😩
kate who is recently divorced, finds herself having a hot one night stand with a bartender, just for the fun of it. months later, sees him again, things seem a little off, he’s completely different lo and behold, he was different because he’s a twin😭
hello twin sandwich! this final book was so fun, watching these three navigate explore and navigate this new dynamic
even though we deal with kate’s nutty ex husband, this was still an overall stress free book that you def should read the you want to have a good time
Double Your Standards was the perfect mix of emotional, angsty, fun, and sexy. Sarah Blue really did write a banger of a book to wrap up the Carlson series. I enjoyed Kate finding herself and enjoying her freedom after divorce and Gavin and Ben were the perfect pair for her to explore that new freedom with. Just a good read all around. A bit taboo, but if you enjoy taboo this is mainly just a sweet and steamy read about vulnerability, chemistry, and love.
What to expect: 🥥 MFM (Twin Sandwich) 🌿 Friends With Benefits ✨ D0m/Switch/Sub 🥥 P3gg!ng 🌿 Spicy To-Do List ✨ MCs in Their 30’s 🥥 Power Dynamics 🌿 Parent-Trapped at a S3x Club
First thing first: this cover is AMAZING. So gorgeous! But honestly, all the covers in this series are stunning.
I’ve been waiting for the twins’ book since their first appearance in Swallow Your Pride and I’m so glad Sarah Blue decided to go through with it and write their story. I’ve loved the entire Carlson Brothers series with no exception, but I’m not even surprised about it because I enjoyed every single books I’ve read so far by Sarah. She’s genuinely one of my all-time favorite authors!
I’d say “new kink unlocked,” but let’s be real, I’ve always been intrigued by power dynamics. I just never read anything like this before and well.. I LOVED it! She pulled it off SO well! It was hot, sexy and absolute perfection. It gave me everything I wanted and more.
I loved Gavin, Kate and Ben so freaking much. And Katie girl, you are the queen I aspire to be when I grow up (mind you, I’m 26🤡). Keep that pettiness level right where it is because you did everything right!
In conclusion: 10/10 would recommend this book as well as every single one in the series. But honestly? Do yourself a favor and just go binge Sarah Blue’s entire backlist because she’s just THAT amazing.
Thank you to the author and @TheSmuthood for sending me an e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Once again Sarah os a victim of my not reading her work before 🤣. I know its not a huge surprise at this point. Once again are we surprised that I was LIVING for this book?? Nope, because I'm a Why choose girlie who loves a man sandwich. Especially a TWIN SANDWICH. Yep, you read that right. They are twins 👬 y'all!!
Ben and Gavin were total opposites but had the best dynamics that were able to shift to include Kate. Not only were they able to shift inside the bedroom but also outside. They could see that the relationship was obviously moving in a different direction, so they were able to shift accordingly.
Kate was a whole GEM 💎! I really loved how she was able to see exactly what she wanted without playing favorites between the two men. She seamlessly switched between Sub and Domme. She was able to give each of the twins what they needed, individually.
I truly enjoyed this throuple and am sad that this is the end of the series but that gives me the opportunity to read the first two books!

Thank you Smuthood per and Sarah Blue for the arc.
this was so good, I don't usually read poly romances with brothers, so this was something new for me. I adored the characters, Kate was so strong and her development was done so well, I loved how she communicated her needs, her insecurities and her thoughts. She went through so much shit in her marriage and reading about her taking her life in her hands, move on, exploring her sexuality and rebuilding her life was so beautiful. The twins omg they are so hot, what I really appreciated is their different dynamic, you know, usually in poly/rh stories the men are dominant, so I was really amused to read that Gavin was dominant and Ben was completely submissive. They were the perfect fit for Kate, since she discovered to be a switch. I loved how different and similar they were, they complemented each other and brought what Kate needed in their relationship. I liked the plot and the pace, it was realistic to see them starting as "friends with benefits" (because of Kate reluctance about jumping in another relationship) and developing feelings along the way, also I loved how the author was able to the describe Kate's feelings: she didn't prefer a brother over the other since she needed both side of the coin. The whole plot with her ex husband was really interesting, I was glad to read about her standing up for herself and getting revenge. Overall I was hooked since the beginning; this was the perfect ending for this series!
It was an amazing rollercoaster of Kate's life.... I really liked the book so far. I loved to read how the twins are changing in a good way... The interactions between Kate and the twins are amazing to read!
The writing style is also great, it feels like as I'm a part of the story!
Twin sandwich? YES PLEASE!! This was the best usage of the parent-trap style twin switcherooing. One a dom, one a sub, and a FMC switch who just thought she had found the perfect man, when she had, instead, found two men perfect for her.
I loved how they kept trying to keep it casual - "It's just about the sex" - as they only fell harder and harder for each other. Silly fools. But, boy, did I eat up all the tension!
This is super fast burn that doesn't let up at all! MFM in the best way possible.
The final book in The Carlson Brothers series, this book ends in a HEA. It can be read as a complete standalone.
Thanks to Sarah Blue for the early copy for review.
Book ARC Review: A Polyamorous Masterpiece of Spice, Self-Discovery & Twin Chaos
From the very first page, this book grabs you by the ovaries and doesn’t let go. Kate—newly divorced, fiercely independent, and ready to reclaim her life—is done playing it safe. Her gift to herself? A membership to an exclusive sex club and a promise to finally explore every desire she's tucked away during her failed marriage.
Enter Gavin and Ben Carlson: the devastatingly hot twin brothers who meet Kate separately and both fall hard. One’s a Dom. One’s a sub. One’s a switch. Together? A deliciously filthy trifecta of spice, tension, and emotional connection that will leave you breathless.
This book isn't just erotic—it’s empowering. Kate’s journey is about far more than just mind-blowing sex (though, trust me, there’s plenty of that). It's about self-discovery, open communication, healthy boundaries, and letting go of shame. Her sex list? Iconic. Her confidence? Magnetic. And her ability to navigate a relationship with two equally obsessed (and protective) men? Legendary.
The writing? Buttery smooth. The humor? Laugh-out-loud funny. The heat? Kindle-melting. I laughed, I shrieked, I kicked my feet like a teenage girl watching her favorite ship become canon.
With a subplot involving stalking and blackmail, and a found-family dynamic that gives it heart, this book is not just filth for filth’s sake (though bless the filth, may it reign forever). It’s a spicy, sexy, smart story about a woman finally choosing herself—and finding love and pleasure in the most unexpected (and delightfully kinky) places.
Final Verdict: Hydrate, cancel your plans, and dive in. This book is a polyamorous fever dream of fantasy, fun, and female freedom. 10/10. Would sell my soul to read it for the first time again.
"You never had a hoe phase, Kate. It's overdue. It's like every woman's rite of passage to have a certain amount of time dedicated to getting railed by as many men as your sweet, little heart desires."
Kate is a newly divorced woman and not looking to settle with anyone anytime soon. For once in her life, she wants fun. No strings attached. Hot. Sex.
A divorce present to herself, she pays big money for a membership of a very exclusive club…
Ben and Gavin are the Carlson twins. They both meet Kate at different times yet find a strong connection with her. She’s their It Girl. The woman that exceeds all expectations and desires of both of them.
This book is spicy. Sooooo spicy. And sooo dang good. 🌶️Twin Sandwich 🔥Dom/Switch/Sub 🌶️She’s got a sex list to explore and grades them on the experience 🔥Pegging, 🍑 play and so much hotness 🌶️MC’s in their 30’s 🔥Stalker side plot and protective twins 🐈 She loves cats and art 🖼️
It’s not just spice but a woman finally free of a failing marriage and exploring herself and what she’s always wanted. She’s a successful working single woman and I loved her confidence and ability to communicate with the new men in her life.
Every book in the series, I say it’s a new favorite but I genuinely think this one is the favorite. It was just 😘 perfection.
“I genuinely know I’ll never be with anyone the same way I am with these Carlson brothers.”
This was messy, and I loved it. First, I love Gavin and Ben and their chaotic role in the family. I love that they still tease their brothers and Penny endlessly. 5 years later, still trouble makers.
Kate meets Gavin when she's freshly divorced but doesn't learn his name. Months later, she sees him again, except it's actually Ben. And then when Ben and Gavin decide they're gonna tell her there are 2 of them.... that doesn't happen right away. MESSY!
None of them want a relationship and think entering this FWB situation will be fun and simple, except they all start falling for each other quickly, and I love that trope so much.
Kate is a balanced switch. She is effortlessly submissive with Gavin and gently dominant with Ben. I loved the group scenes where she just easily glided between roles. And while there are group scenes, there are plenty of one on one scenes.
OOOO CHILD. This book 🔥🔥🔥🔥!! Nothing I love more than a smut fest and not only does this hit that mark, but the characters are absolutely phenomenal. I adore Kate, a newly divorced art professor, who is wanting to learn more about herself and her sexual desires. After a one-night encounter with Gavin - the owner of a local bar - she ends up deciding to join a local upscale sex club. Where she runs into who she thinks is Gavin again (not really a spoiler but surprise! It's his identical twin, Ben). Ben doesn't let her know he isn't Gavin because he's REALLY into Kate and they hit it off just like she did with Gavin, but for very different reasons.
The relationship progression between these three was everything. Together they truly were the perfect men for Kate and she was clearly their dream girl. Gavin is a dom, Kate is a switch, and Ben is a sub - all the spicy scenes were just so well written and so amazing. The tension, stalker d-bag ex husband, and of course the 🌶️ had me inhaling this book. Oh! And there's pegging which is one of my absolute favorite microtropes.
Thanks to the Smuthood & the author for the chance to read & review!
Thank you so much The Smuthood for the earc, all opinions are my own.
Newly divorced Kate is set out to find herself as a newly single woman. With her self esteem down, she ends up booking up with a bartender in the office of a bar. Rejuvenated by the experience, she decides to join the Avalon, a sex club, and sees the man again. Except he’s different this time. 👀 It’s because they’re twins.
Tons of fun, dom/sub dynamics as a group of 3, and some dickhead named Will.
I did not read the first 2 books in the series and felt like I wasn’t missing much, besides their stories obviously, but you can definitely just read this one, or go out of order!
SARAH BLUE YOU ABSOLUTELY TALENTED GENIUS. This might be my favorite Carlson Brother book yet! Ben and Gavin were both just so 🙂↕️🙂↕️🙂↕️🙂↕️🤌🏼 not to mention KATE?!? HOTTEST SWITCH KNOWN TO MAN?!? Oh my god, I’ve fully died and gone to heaven. Kink exploration is one of my favorite things to read in a book, and Sarah Blue does it immaculately.
Wax play// soft fem domme// power play// pegging// DP// blindfolds// CAT MOM OF FOUR
I have loved this series so much! One thing Sarah does amazing at is writing an amazing why choose book! I was waiting for the twins book because I just knew it was going to be good and it did not disappoint!! They are boys OBSESSED with the FMC even if it took them a minute! LOL
Gavin and Ben are literally complete opposites in what they like. Which I loved about this cause it wasn't 2 dominate MMC it gave the story so much balance. And I about D.E.A.D when the pegging scene came up cause DAMN!
WHAT TO EXPECT Why Choose - MFM (Twin Brothers) Pegging Light BDSM Power Dynamic Friends with Benefits Wax Play Spicy to do list
Another amazing book by Sarah Blue 👏🏼 I’m obsessed with this series! Each book has great spice and forbidden aspects. I feel like this book is perfectly named 😂
I loved the whole premise of this book. And I loved how Kate was shown how she should be treated after being in a bad relationship. Gavin & Ben were so uniquely different and provided her exactly what she needed 🖤 As usual the spice was 👌🏼
Taboo, sexy, empowering, while also being sweet and accepting. Twin brothers accidentally parent-trap a recently divorced woman at a sex club. Oh, and they’re rich. Oh and ones D and the other S and she loves to switch. This is such a fun series, and I’m sad to see it come to a close. Honorable mention goes to the Carlson parents for being the most accepting parents of all time. 🤣😅
Kate is recently divorced and looking to find herself again. She spent so much of her life becoming small and not doing things for herself. After a hot hookup with a stranger, she’s ready to explore her interests. Enter Ben and Gavin.
This whole book was amazing from start to finish. We get to see Kate go from nervous and unsure to confident in who she is. And we get to see the twins in a more mature light. In the previous books, they’re always stirring up trouble. The push and pull between the three of them was great. And seeing how each of them fit together like a puzzle. Kate gave both Ben and Gavin what they needed and they did the same in return. And Sarah was not messing around with the spice. I also loved seeing Kate interact with the whole family and find her forever home.
