Knotted: Rapunzel's Story
Rapunzel is a girl that thought she knew her destiny since before she was confronted by it. Isolated and cared for by the Witch, she has forgotten the outside world and though womanhood has found her in the tower, she has never felt the touch of a man. Then one night, a cloaked figure climbs her hair and teaches Rapunzel about destiny, fate, and fire. She quickly finds that she enjoys mastering more than being mastered. Obedient to her witch – the bringer of her curse – for as long as shes ever known, Rapunzel lives to provide her with submissive pleasure and youth. She wouldn’t want it any other way . . . that is, until a devilishly handsome “wolf-man” climbs up the long tangles of her hair as she waits patiently for her witch’s return.
With only the moonlight pouring over the broad figure, and with no knowledge of anything beyond the tower and her witch, she curiously implores him to speak of what and who he is. A man, a prince at that, who seeks shelter as he is in hiding from his kingdom and an arranged marriage he despises.
I couldn’t help but laugh during the dialogue between herself and the prince as her questions were so innocent without her realizing how crass she came off as. They bicker back and forth as they try to figure the other out, but as she steps closer, she’s breath-taken by his beauty and things suddenly get steamy as the prince gives her the reins to take control.
Rapunzel discovers a new passion in being dominant, feeling a pleasure she had never received before.
The prince is so taken by her that he decides it’s time to return to the kingdom, to bring his men and rescue her, but not before he asks her to take the knife and make his mark on her so he may be able to track her down to bring her to her rescue with a fleet.
This is truly a dark and steamy fairy-tale bender and for a short story, it precedes its word length. The author has the capability to pull you into their world with powerful writing. Her talent for giving it such a historical, timeless feel, shines.
I am looking forward to reading more by this author and secretly hope for part two to this story! ;)
