Eastvale a colorful college campus that seems like a place of absolute wonder and fantasy. Only for Jay Johnson, it’s a reminder—of everything he’s not. With a father who was once the school’s star quarterback, Jay has spent his life falling short of expectations. But that’s fine. He’s not here to play—he’s here to write, documenting the team’s every move instead. Following his father's legacy his own way.
Then there’s Christian Miller—the Tigers’ current starting quarterback, beloved by campus. He's got the charm, genetics, and pretty much everything from the outside looking in. But lately, it seems that world is crumbling from the inside. Christian's different. Distracted. Burnt out. The life that once felt seamless now feels like a script he’s struggling to follow.
When their paths cross, one misunderstanding after another throws them into an unexpected collaboration that neither saw coming.
Project Super Act One is a deliberate start to the series, properly setting the stage for a fated journey between two young men finding their way—on and off the field.
YIPPEE I GET TO BE THE FIRST REVIEW FOR THIS BOOK, AUTOMATIC 5 STARS CUZ I LOVE BLACK GAY YAOIIIIII
ok serious note tho i just feel so seen with this book!! not only because of the general black mlm rep but also in jay johnson specifically. a black fiction writer who anxious as hell & knows fuck all about sports terminology? HE IS ME & I AM HIM‼️ as for christian, he genuinely pissed me off with that mess he pulled with the notebook.. but I was also giggling & kicking my feet whenever he teased jay so… not fully forgiven but we are getting there. very excited to see his character grow from here (as well as jay’s ofc) but he’s on paper thin ice.
I love black gay yaoi, okay, but seriously, I loved how we had two black characters that weren’t painted in a stereotypical way and had a chance to be shy and vulnerable. We don’t get to see that often and the fact we see that here makes me soooo happy.
The story is cute, silly, but also made me a bit emotional. I could relate to both of them and seeing a black character, especially one who is darkskin, be shy and likes nerdy stuff is amazing. I loved this so much ❤️❤️🥹🥹
