Two years ago, Jenna made Robby question his life in Chicago and why his job kept him there.
Now Jenna’s small town brings Robby home. Since their summer together, however, everything has changed. Jenna is recovering from a bad relationship and dealing with the associated trauma. She plans to become a journalist and leave Wheaton behind, so spending time with Robby is a terrible idea.
Robby always wanted to work in the finance industry, but he didn’t go to college to make rich people richer. He hopes to gain a new perspective when he visits his grandparents, but he keeps running into Jenna, who he left on rocky terms.
Robby’s sister and the rest of the small town keep forcing them together, and they can’t deny their attraction. However, a shared affection isn’t always enough to guarantee a happy ending.
Leah Omar is an author from Minnesota, and as long as she could remember, has been an avid reader and writer. Her debut novel, A Labor of Love, lived in her mind for years before she put pen to paper. Leah is a lover of all romance novels but set out to create compelling stories that tackle the complexities of relationships.
Leah has a bachelor’s of art in communications and English literature and a master’s degree in business administration. She now calls Minneapolis home, which she shares with her husband and two children. In her free time, Leah enjoys traveling the world and learning about different cultures, reading and writing, and spending time with those she loves best.
As a writer, Leah is devoted to giving her readers contemporary love stories that make us remember that we have more similarities than differences, and that love can conquer all. She loves to interact with readers, so feel free to reach out.
Leah has written yet another book that is impossible to put down. The characters are beautiful, the story keeps you on the edge of your seat, and now all I want to do is go live in a little lake town in Minnesota. The romance is stunning, it had me laughing and crying (sometimes at the same time!!).
[small spoiler ahead]
The most important aspect, however, was some of the more deeper topics discussed. While some of it was definitely hard to read, it opened my eyes to survivorship in all stages of an abusive relationship. This is a tough topic to talk about, but Leah did it all gracefully, giving a voice to the voiceless.
Read this book as fast as you can. Trust me, you’ll thank me later. ❤️
Here’s the problem with Leah’s Between Series, I want to pack my bags and leave my suburban life behind in exchange for a life with the Abrams and the Berglands and summer evenings by the lake. Each book in the series has brought me in deeper and deeper. Like her other books, Jenna and Robbie’s relationship, with the expected ups, and unexpected downs, quickly draws you in while still catching up with our old “friends” from her previous books. Leah has says this is the third book in the series, but is it the last? I hope not. But even if it is I will follow her to her next destination and new characters who feel like friends.
"Sometimes, we pass through life, and things don’t work out because of unspoken truths and a lack of vulnerability to tell people exactly how we feel."
How many of us go through life regretting what we should have done or thinking that we could have changed the circumstances of someone else's pain? I truly did not know where the author was taking me but after reading her books I trusted she would not disappoint.
This book hit close to home. The author, Leah Omar paid homage to anyone who has had; to deal with aging parents, survived and healed from a trauma, and finally, been brave enough to know their true love and acted on it.
