**Review:**
BALLS is a fast-paced, thrilling ride that keeps you hooked from start to finish. Adeola, our fearless protagonist, is a bold journalist willing to risk everything for the truth. Initially, I found it hard to take her seriously cause she’s a little reckless, and always in the thick of drama. But as I continued reading, I realized how deeply dedicated she is to her craft and her friends, especially when she takes on the task of exposing her best friend's abusive celebrity husband. The lengths she goes to uncover the secrets surrounding him are not only jaw-dropping but also dangerous, making for an intense and gripping read.

What I loved about *Balls* is how Adeola wasn’t portrayed as a weak or damsel-in-distress type of character. She’s strong, independent, and does not shy away from the risks, even when those risks put her life and career on the line. This portrayal made her all the more relatable and empowering to read about.

Also, the spicy scenes were well-written and added a layer of intensity to the narrative, perfectly complementing the suspenseful moments. The chemistry between Adeola and Chidi is electric, and the authors know exactly how to turn up the heat when it counts. The twists and turns in the plot keep you on your toes, never allowing you to guess what’s coming next, which is always a great sign of an engaging read.

For a short book, *Balls* packs a punch. The story is fast-paced, with unexpected developments and high stakes that make it difficult to put down. And with this being the first book in a series, I’m already looking forward to what’s next! If you love a thrilling, edge-of-your-seat read with a strong and daring female lead, and spicy scenes to match, this is definitely a series you should check out.

Rating: 4/5 stars * – I Highly recommend for fans of intense thrillers and passionate romance.

Balls follows the gripping tale of adeola , a fearless journalist determined to uncover the truth behind the enigmatic world of sports investing. I loved how adeola was portrayed as fearless, and she had the "balls" cause what in the world are those " balls" 😂😂. I also loved how she stood up for her friend, how she fought for her friend even though it might cost her life and job. One thing I also loved was how she put her friends feelings into consideration whenever she want to say something and I also loved the fact that she approached stuff when it needs to be approached.
Her relentless pursuit for the next big scoop landed her into chidi's world , someone with his own secrets (I hope to find out in the next book). But as adeola stepped into his world, the line between business and passion began to blur making it a dangerous passionate affair 🌚.
Adeola is a protagonist whose courage and determination is inspiring and chidi's guarded nature and mysterious past is so captivating making me wonder who he is and what are his true intentions.
This book involves themes of truth and deception , ambition and sacrifice and the delicate balance between professional ethics and personal desires .

The authors writing style are sharp and engaging with a perfect blend of suspense, romance, spice and drama. The book is fast paced and it'll keep you on the edge making you wonder what'll happen next.
If you enjoy a blend of suspense, romance and drama , Balls is the perfect addition to your tbr. Highly recommended!!!💞

Adeola is a perfect mix of ballsy and reckless enough to land herself into a dangerous situation. Would it be worth risking her life and career for her friend, who isn't ready to save herself?

How far is Chidi willing to get involved in the mess Adeola has dug herself in?

I'm curious to see how all this will play out in the subsequent books!

a promising premise. hoping the sequel improves its execution

This novel shows promising ambition by attempting to blend multiple engaging genres - romance, mystery, and spice. I appreciated the James Bond-inspired atmosphere with Adeola positioned as a compelling "Bond girl" character, and the foundation for an intriguing journalist protagonist with complex relationships certainly piqued my interest. The potential for developing the relationship between the main character and Chidi also offers something to look forward to in future installments.

However, the execution fell short of this promising premise. The plot was unfortunately drawn out, with key elements remaining underdeveloped. One of the main characters with supposedly shady dealings never fully appears to the reader - we only hear about them secondhand or through brief observations. The mystery element, which should have been central to the narrative, fails to come to the forefront. I found the writing style problematic, particularly the excessive use of gerunds, with phrases constantly relying on "waiting," "watching," etc. This stylistic choice became exhausting and detracted from the narrative flow. The novel's strength seems to be in describing the spicy content rather than developing the plot itself, and I'm confused about how these scenes meaningfully advance the story.

Despite these criticisms, I see significant potential for improvement in the sequel. The groundwork has been laid for more complex character development, particularly in exploring the relationship dynamics with Chidi. With some refinement - particularly reducing the overreliance on gerunds and better integrating the romantic elements with the mystery subplot - this series could evolve into something truly engaging. The combination of a journalist protagonist navigating romance, intrigue, and mystery is a compelling concept that I hope to see more successfully realized in future installments.

I find the tension between the FMC and MMC quite alluring. I enjoyed the description of scenes where they both appear and the novel executes this sizzling tension between them, perfectly.

From the very start, this book makes it clear that you're dealing with a morally grey character—and that earns respect. Funny enough, I went in expecting a romance, but what I got was a romantic suspense novel and I love how haywire things began to go.

*Balls* follows Adeola, a fearless journalist determined to push her media house forward in an ever-evolving industry. True to her nature, she dives headfirst into the world of football’s biggest players in search of a story—and that’s when she meets Chidi. But what’s the deal with Chidi? Is he truly a knight in shining armor? 🥰🥰 I can only hope we get to see more of his character in future stories.

One of my favorite things about this book is its compactness. It sets out to tell a simple yet thrilling story packed with dangerous twists. And the mention of Club Nova? That hit me with a wave of nostalgia—so long, my friend.

Also, if you’re expecting an angelic protagonist, that person is definitely not Adeola. Some of the things running through her head genuinely shocked me! And don’t get me started on Bambo—her delusions about her nonchalant husband had me mad. Like, what is it, Madam?!

If you're looking for a smooth entry into the world of romantic suspense, this book is a great place to start.

I thought this was going to be a typical romance novel, but wow, was I in for much more. The suspense was completely unexpected!

This book follows Adeola, a journalist determined to push her media house forward while uncovering the truth behind the sports industry. Her choices had me at the edge of my seat at every turn. Though impulsive at times, Adeola is also a great friend and an impressive journalist with a keen eye for the next big scoop.

Don’t get me started on Bambo. I understand that her situation with her husband is complicated, but she really needs to open her eyes before it’s too late.

And then there’s Chidi. I’m a bit skeptical about him, but I absolutely love the spark between him and Adeola. But I have questions—Is he genuine, or will he drag Adeola down? I need more!

I honestly can’t wait for Book 2—I’m eager to see how everything unfolds. I highly recommend this book!

P.S.: I voluntarily received an advanced reader's copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

I dived into this book expecting another romance story. The suspense and chaos was what I didn't see coming.

One word I'd describe Adeola with is "impulsive" I've never been scared for a character as I am for her. Like, I'm literally screaming "girl, be careful" every single time she goes poke- nosing.

Bambo, is pushing my last buttons. Like, is it until you're unalive before you'll have sense??

I honestly, don't trust Chidi. He seems too good and too willing to give out information.

*BALLS* is a story about a fearless journalist who will go to any lengths to push the media house she works with from behind the scenes into the limelight of the ever evolving sports industry while, still being a supportive friend. I genuinely cannot wait to see how things unravel in book two (fingers crossed 🤞)

If you're looking for a book with a strong and fearless female lead, you've come to the right place

BALLS,
At first, I felt it was the normal romance story but nah, I was wrong, cause the suspense in this book deserves an accolades!!

I was so engrossed with the female lead character, Adeola. I was absolutely not settled and scared on her behalf! Not me screaming when she got the call “ You were warned”. Girlllll!!

And for Bambo, this woman, I just hope she gets her sense real quick, cause what’s that messy love??.

I love the fact that Adeola was portrayed as the fearless female character, honestly. She was portrayed as someone that’ll definitely go to any length to get the game played and still be that supportive friend! Adeola is my shaylaaa!!

As for Chidi, I want moreeee! What’s his motive exactly, is he part of the bad guys or not?? I definitely want more.

I honestly cannot wait for Book 2. Once again the female lead is a 100 for me and I love Adeola a little too much!

Balls:
At first, I perceived Adeola to be a messy character with no depth to her than her funny lifestyle, but reading through the pages, I discovered Adeola to be one feisty, strong and determined character whose dedication Tk unravelling the secrets behind Tunde, Bambo's celebrity husband was sole on her mind.

Though short, this story encompasses intrigue, suspense, romance and tells a poignant story of relationship saga with lessons to infer from.

I really cannot wait to see how the story unfolds, what becomes of Tunde, if Bambo would be free and hopeful Adeola isn't hurt in the process and the truth exposed.
I enjoyed the story⭐♥️.

The characters are fascinating, well-developed, and relatable, making it easy to become invested in their lives. Camaa Pearl and Lani really did a great job of balancing action, the playlist ,conversations, and character chemistry, all while moving at a quick pace.
The romance is sweet, steamy, and full of tension, keeping you on the edge of your seat. I'm eagerly awaiting book 2 to see what happens next with Adeola. I highly recommend this book🤭🥳🥳❤️❤️

Initially, I saw Adeola as a lighthearted and somewhat chaotic character, but as the story progressed, I realized she was much more strong, determined, and relentless in her pursuit of the truth. Her focus on uncovering the mystery surrounding Tunde, Bambo’s famous husband, made for an engaging read.
Despite its brevity, the book is filled with suspense, romance, and intrigue, weaving a compelling tale of relationships and secrets with meaningful takeaways. I’m eager to see what happens next & what fate awaits Tunde, whether Bambo will break free, and if Adeola can navigate the dangers ahead without getting hurt. I’m eagerly waiting for the next one☺️☺️

At first, I could not take Adeola seriously—homegirl is messy! 🤣 But as I kept reading, I realized just how much of a good friend and journalist she is. Imagine risking everything to expose her best friend’s abusive celebrity husband… The secrets she uncovers? Insane. And the danger she puts herself in? Terrifying.

For such a short book, Balls is packed with intrigue and tension. The story is fast-paced, gripping, and honestly? The spice was written so well.

This first book already set the perfect tone for me. I cannot wait to dive into the rest of the series!
