Island Secrets is the second title in the Amberjack Shores series, and brings us even more mysteries to solve, and deepening emotional ties to the Dalton family for Becca and Katie.

And the plot thickens, literally, with the introduction of another woman, Genese, and her daughter, Devyn, and their connection to the Dalton family. Genese brings an emotional mystery with her, along with unspoken danger to not only herself, but perhaps the entire Dalton family. Connections deepen, and a health scare for the matriarch, Linda, will solidify some of those growing bonds even more.

I enjoyed Island Secrets by Laura Abbott very much. Watching this family deal with the troubles that life and a deceased son bring to them is not only intriguing for the mystery of it all, but heartwarming as I got to know the family members better… including romantic connections for Becca and her daughter, Katie. The second title in the series only deepened the interest in continuing to learn about the Dalton family and their dynamics. It’s a well-written, emotional, mysterious, and intriguing story, one that I’d definitely recommend.

I had a free copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. When Becca returns to Amberjack Inn she discovers her husband who had never divorced her, had another family. Her mother in law Linda takes in this family since they had been evicted after Chris’s death and had no place to go, plus she wanted to get to know her granddaughter. The family saga continues with other secrets being kept from Linda, and Linda keeping her deteriorating health from her family. Great addition to the series, and interesting plot lines to be sure…a must read.

Family is composed of complexities

Yes! She’s going to stay. Stay she does and turns a fledgling world into hope and trust. Secrets almost always have dire consequences as these do, but the family strength and determination are saviors. A pre- med doctor is pulled between a medical career and a halcyon world of fisheries, a navy blue ocean, forgiveness, deceit and true metamorphosis. A complex set of characters and plot creates one of the best novels today.
