Hunger. It's something that can stretch beyond the want for mere food, the need for nutrition. Hunger can be a craving only satiated by consumption. When two tour guides managing Newfoundland's most haunted museum on the most haunted day of the year must contend with a group of tourists looking to take advantage of their services, they find their roles usurped by a mysterious man whose descriptions and explanations of the exhibits carry with them a sinister tone. Following the bestselling trilogy that spawned the hit unscripted NTV television series that shares its name, TERROR NOVA returns with a bold new direction featuring thirteen terrifying short stories from Newfoundland's top talents, including returning favourites ALEX MCINTOSH & NICOLE LITTLE, along with series newcomers AINSLEY HAWTHORN (Land of Many Shores), TAYLOR BARRETT (Cover My Eyes), & ANDREW HAWTHORN (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles).
Listen, I will never not love Terror Nova - I could honestly rave about them forever. First off - the cover design? ICONIC. Every book is made to look like a well loved paperback novel, drawing you into the stories before you ever flip a page. Secondly the NL rep is so good. Until I picked up the very first TN I had no idea how badly I needed to see my culture represented on the page. The stories are sometimes cheesy, sometimes terrifying, ALWAYS good. And the stories are fresh too! Like, so incredibly inventive and different, they're unlike anything I've read before. If you're from NL and you like a touch of the spooky or bizarre, but you've been hemmin' and hawin' over whether to give this series a try? This is your sign.
