Cole Halverson, a pro basketball star, has conquered the court but now faces an uncertain future.
Back in Serenity Point after a health scare for him and ongoing health issues of his niece, Cole only plans on a quick visit—not a homecoming. But when an unexpected meeting brings an intriguing woman into his life, Serenity Point suddenly holds more appeal.
Annalisa “Annie” Turner lives a quiet life in the shadow of tragedy, sheltered by her wealthy, overprotective parents and their ever-present bodyguards.
Kidnapped with her twin sister when they were only three, Annie was the only one returned after a ransom was paid. Fear of losing her like he'd lost her missing sister makes Duncan Burke insistent that she live her life in the shadows. However, when Annie meets her brother's favorite basketball player, Cole Halverson, the charismatic athlete’s unexpected interest stirs her guarded heart and makes her long for something more than she's ever been allowed.
Drawn to Annie’s gentle spirit, Cole finds himself falling hard. Unfortunately, Annie’s father, the uber-rich Duncan Burke, fears her ending up in the public eye and after revealing his relationship to Annie, Duncan puts pressure on Cole to end the relationship. Cole finds himself torn between being with the woman he loves and doing what's necessary to keep her safe. Annie, however, worries about the threat her dad holds over Cole if they stay together.
Annie knows she should live her life honoring God, which means she needs to trust Him and not live her life in fear. Will Annie and Cole find a way to move forward as a couple? Or will fear leave Annie on her own as she faces an unexpected turn of events that leaves her feeling unmoored?Cole is book 10 of the Christian romance series focused on the lives of The Halversons.

I liked the natural way they met, if you've sat in the bleachers, basketball or baseball, there's that one that got away. If you're lucky, there's a hero. Like many young Christians out on their own, going to college, starting a job away from home and family, the temptations and patterns of our lives change. The series brought some usual, some complex, some more so. But all in all I was reminded that house filled with kids 5 or 10 raised the same can have totally different personalities, issues and reactions. I loved seeing these, yet the love.is there
4.25 stars Another wonderful story from Kimberly. I’m sad this series with the Halversons is ending, but looking forward to Angelica’s story! As always, reading Kimberly’s books feels like spending time with old friends. She has such a wonderful gift for creating characters and situations that are realistic and relatable (even when they include out of the ordinary circumstances, ) Annie and Cole were too cute together and I enjoyed seeing both grow in their personal lives and with the Lord.
The story was captivating, suspenseful and heartwarming. It also had the element of poor little rich girl in the fact she lived an overly sheltered life. However with finding love, looking to God for direction and strength the couple found one another and a stronger relationship with the Lord. Which through it all shows money doesn't guarantee a happy life or a life free from worry.
I really enjoyed this final book in the Halversons series. It's always hard to say goodbye to characters that have become good friends over ten books! I really liked the development of the relationship in this book, and the extra suspense of the female lead character's family mystery. I'm glad the next series by Jordan is kind of a takeoff on The Halversons so we'll get to see more of them.
I have read the whole 10 book series & I really liked each & every one of them. Good clean romances. Some with a little mystery. Some with hilarious dates. Some with heartfelt family issues. All very engaging and interesting and entertaining. Looking forward to the next series from Kimberly Rae Jordan.
If there were more than five stars, I would certainly have rated this book higher. The ups and downs, twist and turns in the story keeps your interest. Annie's story is amazing and heartbreaking. Cole is a great basketball player and comes into Annie's life. Very good writing from Kimberly again.
It was a perfect ending to the series. I love how Kimberly developed the characters through to the very end, unlike some of the other books in the series that felt rushed, especially in the last chapters. It's definitely worth my lost hours of sleep. I'm looking forward to the next series.
This book was everything I could hope for. The storyline was unexpected, fresh and so well written. I appreciated the romance without make out descriptions, and the inclusion of the Christian faith of the characters is an added bonus
A great story that includes a basketball star & a very secluded girl. It's a great story ending with an encouragement to let people know that there is hope for even the most desperate .
Next time I have a ball flying towards me I’m going to embrace it because there may be a Cole close by. When God is kept in the center we can find peace no matter what we go through. Trust me…I have experienced it more than once. Praise God!
I really enjoyed this story bout Annie and Cole. Annie lived a very secluded life until She met Cole. Things began to change. Her father was very controlling about her security and that of the family since Annie’s Identical sister had been kidnapped. Enjoy this great story.
I really enjoyed the journey with Cole and Annie. The verbal expression of feelings and emotions were very exciting, inspiring and uplifting, satisfied. I could not stop reading till the end. Recommend for reading.
Cole, closing out the Halverson family series was the best yet for me. I am very excited to hear more from the Burke family series. thank you for not leaving me hanging on them.
True love but shared with God’s grace and overcoming career and family obligations to use the talent God has given Cole and Annie to reach and minister to the world.
