dear reader, I have quibbled over this review as I know it has been anticipated by many. I must speak honestly and say there were many a day that I had not read the passage but did attend to the book club (class). nonetheless, I have gathered immense knowledge from this text and it was written much better than other books … say my corporations textbook for example. these chapters were set up logically, provided clear examples, included notes cases that were highlighted in class regularly, and has a clear structure that I could see myself revisiting to study for the final exam. much love to these authors and the clarity they attempted to give this subject. I must withhold the fifth star because it is a textbook after all.

This was a good textbook. But posit this - are warrants required or have they become the exception to the general expectation of exceptions. I dont know read the books.
Well written, good content. Does a decent job of balancing the applicability of the law with its racist/sexist/classist framework, history, and effect. The notes at the beginning and end of each case provide great context and explanation. I read it for a class, but the book is well-written enough that I would easily be able to grasp material if I were reading on my own.
the US right to be free from search & seizure is great, but its remedies are awful, and the construction put upon the right by a police-state-oriented bench empties it of much content.
